Fire Ghouls:
Our rough and tough little hellions! They have semi-typical male/female type anatomy compared to humans, with some very faint differences. One being that those with the male set anatomy have a knot like most ghouls do. Fire ghouls prefer to do the devil's dance in warm, sometimes sweltering environments as they believe it brings stronger fire to the kit.
Fire ghouls with female presenting anatomy will typically pursue the preferred mate with flashy shows of power and control over their element. From the outside it almost looks like a dance! If all is successful, then the new couple will choose a nesting location to begin their endeavors.
Another big difference between humans and fire ghouls is very small spines along the shaft. The human sisters lucky enough to bed a fire ghoul claim they don't hurt unless you try to pull away, and the ghoul can retract them at will. They're simply to help things take in the pit. It's believed female fire ghouls have stronger, thicker skin inside the vaginal canal to help prevent any injuries.
The cum is very hot, and can even be uncomfortable to human partners.

Water Ghouls:
Water ghouls are not similar to humans in the slightest! All water ghouls have fem-presenting genitalia, though many things can be different inside. Some water ghouls have a "pouch" of a kind, inside the canal (about where the human womb sits), where formed/forming eggs are stored. Others who don't have this are called "givers". It is the only anatomical difference between any water ghouls reproductive-wise. There is no benefits to having or not having this pouch, and we can't seem to find any evolutionary advantage to a lack of pouch.
All water ghouls have a tentacle, but there are plenty of different shapes and colors. Any kind of a cold color, with most typically a pale yellow on the bottom near the suckers. Of course, all sorts of other colors exist for that area too. Some ghouls even have a darker bottom than top! Mist, for example, has a pale blue tentacle which fades to a deep purple near the suckers.
They appear to move completely independently from the body or will of their "owner", completely functioning on instinct. Water ghoul reproduction involves the tentacle finding it's way to the pouch opening, sticking to the walls of the canal with its suckers, and fertilizing any eggs inside.
Water ghouls mate with their impressive nests and dens. The more extravagant the den and the comfier the nest, the more likely a water ghoul is to find a mate. Of course, the (typically shiny) den will attract other ghouls, so the better the den, the more skilled the defender of it.
Once the mate falls pregnant, the den will be hidden until the eggs are laid, and the kits are hatched. Eggs are incubated for roughly 3 months, and laid 4-7 days before hatching. There seems to be no dominant ghoul in the situation.
The cum is typically heavy and thick to make things easier when mating underwater, which is the most common way.

Air Ghouls:
The sweet and lovely air ghouls. Soft and feathery and full of love! The most docile, according to ministry archives. (Mostly) Externally fem presenting, but internally very different. Air ghouls with a male reproductive system sport a short sheath, hiding their systems internally. There is some evolutionary advantage, being that everything stays safe while flying.
Reproduction is very typical.
Air ghouls attempt to attract mates with their songs. They will sing from what they deem as an "acceptable" height, with younger ghouls usually attempting to get as high as possible, while older more experienced ghouls fly to a height that would be nice for a nest. When another approaches, they will be inspected by the singing ghoul. If not to standards, they will be chased off rather violently. But if accepted, then the mating ceremony begins.
Air ghouls will fly together for days at a time with minimal breaks to test their partners. During this period they do not eat or sleep. The only support they have is eachother. Should one fall, the other will go on to find another stronger, more suitable mate. If they both keep up together and survive, they will fly high with their talons locked, before plummeting to the ground. If a ghoul let's go too early for their partner they may still be deemed unworthy and be rejected.
Only once both parties have succeeded in the mutual tests will they find a high ledge or tree to build a nest in to raise their kits away from the dangers of hell.
The cum is a bit thin, but almost similar to egg whites as it tends to move together.

Earth Ghouls:
Gentle giants! Usually the taller of the ghouls, fluffy and fuzzy. Hooves are most common, but paws and feet are also possible. Earth ghouls have sheaths similar to air ghouls, but a bit longer meaning there's less inside. Earth ghouls hold typical Male/Female type anatomy like humans, and possess a knot like most other types of ghouls.
Mating practices usually entail rough sparring matches and territorial displays that attract mates. Like water ghouls, Earth Ghouls value the protection a partner can offer them and their nest. Earth ghouls are also the most likely to mate for life, and almost always have a preference for more than one mate. Granted, polyamory is pretty common in the pits.
Once a mate (or mates) is found, the dominant ghoul will take a step back while the other(s) pick a location for the nest. Most commonly some kind of burrow dug down underneath a strong tree. Once a location is picked, they will work together to dig out a burrow appropriate to the relationship as well as gathering soft materials for the kits.
Earth ghoul kits tend to stay with the parents the longest, thanks to both the ease of hunting in large groups and the protection that having many ghouls together offers. Burrows tend to be near other related earth ghouls.
The cum is the most similar to humans! If you ignore the sheer amount and the very slight earthy color.

Quintessence Ghouls:
Our stunning Quintessence Ghouls. Always large and imposing presences, their vessels holding mass amounts of magic, meaning they maintain being some of the largest ghouls. Phantom is an exception to this rule, thus he is constantly expelling extra magic to keep himself from earning physical damage from it. Very useful in the infirmary since he doesn't have to retain as much energy as the others.
These ghouls tend to mate with no noticeable patterns or preferences, more like humans than any other ghouls. Omega has talked vaguely about it, how quintessence ghouls can "feel" their mate.
Quintessence ghouls have sheaths exactly like earth ghouls do, but theirs function much differently. Most Quintessence ghouls have typical male/female anatomy, but in some cases (more so uncommon than rare), they can hold androgynous anatomy as well. (Again, Phantom.)
Quintessence ghouls have pouches and givers like water ghouls, but they function much differently. Instead of the givers fertilizing eggs made by the pouch haver, the givers create the eggs and leave them in the pouch to incubate after knotting. The incubation period is about 7 months on average, but a 2 month difference in either direction can also lead to healthy (if a bit smaller) kits. The pouch absorbs the eggs once the kits are ready to hatch to give the carrier ghoul the nutrients they'll need. These types of ghouls will sleep for three days prior to the kits being born in a typical mammalian way.
The cum is a bit cold, much thicker than humans, and comes in large amounts. Almost holding the texture of liquid glue. A nightmare to clean.

Multi Ghouls:
Multi ghouls! We love them. Chaotic and unpredictable. Terrors of The Clergy.
Multi ghouls take the anatomy from their most dominant element, though their mating traditions come from anywhere from human culture to any space of ghoul culture.
The anatomy they and their partner hold will effect how kits are born. Though typically, Multi ghouls are almost, if not completely infertile. Never stopped them from trying though...
