Armand has a distaste for Renaissance painting, barring the work of his master or his work as a muse. Louis cares not to replicate the Impressionist suggestions of his home in New Orleans. Had my time with those paintings; don’t miss ‘em. Anyway — this said wryly — you’re not Lestat. His sensibilities lean toward the benignly surreal. They collect works primarily from the post-war era because they met in the post-war era. Louis has an eye for future talent.
This agreement is a balm — they rarely agree otherwise. The compromise of distinct aesthetic preferences: dark, violent, intense.
