The Smell of bread baking in the oven wafted from the Kitchen, A Young 20 year old Rodolfo Parra, Or Rudy For Short, was doing his usual shift at his Familia’s Bakery that was opened in the 1900’s by Rudys Great Grand Parents, Margret and Jorge Parra, Who later Past it down to their Children, Anna and Juan Carlos Parra, Rudy’s Parents’s Parents, Who Past it down to their Children, Maria and Antonio Parra, Rudy’s Parents, Who will later pass it down to Rudy when he Gets Married.
(That was a lot of Names…)
Rudy never complained whenever he had to help Make the Pastries in the back, Going from a Shy kid barely making it by in School to a Sweetheart working in his Family’s Bakery, One day Rudy was Restocking the Shelves when he heard the tiny Bell on the door chime, signaling there was a customer coming in, He Turned around to see a 30 year old Woman and her daughter who looked around 8 or 9, He Smiled and greeted them. “¡Hola, Buenas Dias! (Hello, Good Morning!)” Rudy Spoke.
“Hi, My Daughter just got some money from the tooth Fairy and she wanted to try your Lemon Meringue Pie, Do you think you have any?” The Woman greeted back, Explaining their reason to why they came to the Bakery.
“We Do actually, Lucky for you two, We got a Fresh one!” Rudy nodded, He could see the little Girls eyes brighten. “I like Your Shirt, Sweetheart.” He complimented, trying to start little Small talk while waiting for his Cousin to Pack the Lemon Meringue Pie.
“Thank you, Mister!” The Girl replied, Which honestly made Rudy Smile. This girl was like his Sunshine. “Rudy, Aquí. (Here.)” Rudys Cousin slid the Wrapped up Lemon Pie through the order window, Rudy Nodded and Handed the Woman the Pie.
“There you go, And don’t worry about the Cost, Its on us.” Rudy Spoke with a Warm Smile. The Woman nodded, it made him chuckle when the girl waved to him as her and her mom walked out, He Gave the Girl a wave back. He let out a sigh when they walked out, wiping his brow with his sleeve.
Now it was just him, The sound of Stuff Being Made in the Kitchen and- the sound of the Bell Chiming never prepared Rudy to come face to Face with his Childhood Best Friend, Alejandro Vargas.
“Alejandro!” Rudy greeted happily. “Well, Look who it is, Good to see you, Amigo.” Alejandro Chuckled, It was always amusing to see his Friend so excited when he sees him. “So Uh….What brings you here to my familia’s Panadería?” Rudy asked, Trying to hide the fact that he was Blushing while talking to his Best friend.
“Well, I needed a Cake for my Mom since its her Birthday, and she asked me to come to your Familia’s Panadería since your mom and her are friends.” Alejandro explained, Thank goodness he didn’t see the obvious Red tint on the shorter Mans cheeks….
“Of Course, We got Vanilla, Strawberry, And i think…What was it…?” Rudy trailed off, trying to figure out what Flavor he Forgot, When Alejandro Spoke up. “Apple Pie?” He Chuckled, Gesturing to the Apple Pie layered Cake that was on display near the Window. Rudy looked over, laughing sheepishly.
“Oh yea! Apple Pie. I completely forgot about that!” Rudy said, His Eyes trailed over Alejandros Muscular Arms, His Warm Smile, His Beautiful Brown eyes- What am i thinking?! He’s my best friend! Get yourself together, Rodolfo!
Alejandro didn’t seem to notice the banter in Rudys Mind, He was a little surprised when Rudys face flushed when they locked eyes. “You okay, Amigo? Tu cara está caliente. (Your Face is all Warm.)” Alejandro asked, was Rudy Sick or something? why was he all Red in the Face?
“Uh…give me a second, Ale…” Rudy excused himself before he headed to the back, Hiding in the corner of a Storage room, sitting on the floor, Holding his Flushed Face in his hands.
Whats wrong with me…? I kept looking at his body, I’m Such a Weirdo… Rudy thought to himself, Mentally Berating himself in his head, But deep down, he loved Alejandro…But he was so nervous. How was he supposed to tell his Best friend who he’s Known for 20 years, Always went to the same Schools as each other, even the same Classes, That he had feelings for him?!
“Rudy?” Rodolfo nearly let out a scream when he realized that his sister was standing in the doorway, seeing her Brother still in his Gray Hoodie—which had Flour on it from when he had to work in the Kitchen a couple hours before having to Switch roles to the Register after his Aunt had to leave early for her Niece’s graduation—sitting on the floor next to the Crate of Apples, Face Flushed.
“I-I’m fine!” The young Man stood up, Stammering, But his Sister could see through her Brothers Facade. “…still trying to figure out how to tell your Amigo that you have Feelings for him?” She teased, little Did Rudy know, Alejandro was listening from the Counter, a Soft smile on his Face. A couple minutes later, Rudy walked back to the counter, Giving Alejandro his Mom’s Cake.
“H-Here’s your Cake, Ale.” Rudy said, still having a little stammer, He held back a squeak when Alejandro’s Fingers touched his own as he took the Box. “Eh, Gracias, Hermano.” Alejandro said, Putting down $10 on the counter. Rudy nodded, “H-Hey…Ale?” Rudy spoke up when Alejandro was halfway to the door, Alejandro looked over his shoulder. “Um…” Rudy Paused, Contemplating if he should tell him about his Feelings for him. “N-Nevermind…” Rudy sighed, Alejandro chuckled. “Love you too, Mi Amor~” Alejandro teased as he walked out.
Rudy stood there, Face flushed, Did he just- Did he Just read His Mind—?! A couple hours later, Rudy finished his Shift and had gotten back to his Apartment, He was busy washing Dishes when he got a Text from Alejandro, Asking him to meet up at his House. Rudy got Dressed, Wearing a Light Green Checkered Flannel Shirt And Blue Jeans.
When Rudy Got to Alejandros House, He found his Friend in the Garage, Working on his Motorcycle, His Gray Gloves covered in Oil, Alejandro was Wearing a White Tangtop (To Show those Gains 😏) and Black Cargo Pants, When Rudy saw Alejandro’s Sweaty Muscular arms, His Face Flushed.
“Oh, You like what you see, Hermano?~” Alejandro chuckled, Sauntering over to Rudy, Wrapping an arm around His shoulders, Rudys Face only got redder when he realized how close their faces were. “I-I-I-“ Rudy Stammered, Backing up, his back pushed down onto the Table, Alejandro Chuckled, Intertwining their hands, leaning down, their nose Touching. “Why so Shy, Amorrr….?” Alejandro rolled his Tongue when he got to the R in ‘Amor’, Practically teasing Rudy.
Rudy tried to say something when Alejandro shushed him. “Don’t try and argue…you think I haven’t seen your adorable face flush up whenever we’re together?…you’ve been wanting to kiss me, No?” Alejandro asked, Warm understanding in his voice. Rudy Nodded shyly. Alejandro smiled, leaning in close, Rudy tried to pull away but Alejandro gently stroked his back.
“Don’t be so shy, Mi Vida…” Alejandro spoke, Placing a Light kiss on Rudy’s lips, Rudy Squeaked, But Relaxed, Closing his eyes. He wanted to pull away but Alejandro’s lips were like a Drug…a good type of Drug.
Alejandro pulled away, a Smile on his face. “Así que supongo que esto nos hace... Amantes, ¿Eh, Rudy? (So i guess this Makes us…Lovers, Eh, Rudy?)” Alejandro said, Rudy nodded.
“Yea…” Rudy replied, his Face flushed. Alejandro Chuckled, His Hands moving up to Rudy’s face, cupping his Cheeks. “Hey, Amor?” Alejandro spoke, Rudy looked at him. “Look over there.” Alejandro pointed to the Tree outside, Rudy looked over to the tree but didn’t react in Time when Alejandro out of the Sudden Tickled him in the Ribs.
“Ale-! NOHOHOHO! Stop!” Rudy laughed, Alejandro chuckled In a Mischievously Evil way. “I got you now, Mi Vida!” Alejandro said, still mercilessly Tickling Rudy. After a couple minutes, Alejandro stopped, leaving a Breathless Rudy under him. Rudy let out a breath before smiling. “Love you, Ale.” Rudy said, Alejandro smiled back, Giving Rudy a Kiss on the tip of his Nose, “Love you too, Rudy.”
