“On December 13th, 1998, two bodies were recovered from the wreck of a collapsed warehouse in the Bridgewater district of Anagood City. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the identities of these two individuals were Chester Howls and Marshall McKaire.”
This is a retelling of the story of a boy in ruins, a boy who wants to escape the life he has lived. He runs away to the biggest city in Jamestead and falls in love, even as his past refuses to completely let him go. He finds meaning for his life, but unknowingly makes his deathbed, as well.
The main plot, some characters, and a few selected lines are not mine. They are pulled from the album Dec. 13th, 1998 by Ricky Jamaraz (Thomas A. Ison), released in December of 2023, as well as some songs from his album Return to Zero. I created this piece as a way to explore the journey of these characters and to honor how Ricky Jamaraz has inspired me as a songwriter.
