Work Text:
My name condemns me
My blood overruns me
My destiny beckons me
Father, you say you'll forgive their sins
Father, you promise to never flood them again
Father, you give new life to the dead
My heart turns from me
My mind flies from me
My body hurts from me
Father, forgive them, they know not what they do
Father, forgive me, I was foolish in youth
Father, I beg you, don't leave me this way
Father, please -- will you forgive me if I die?
My sins are greater than any I've known
I've brought ruin and destruction to every home
How can I ask for sanctuary when
I know I'll bring the apocalypse on the roof instead?
Father, forgive me, it is just the way I was made
Father, please, I beg of you, tell me to stay
Father, Lord, I'm asking you this
Can you forgive the sins no one else will forgive?
I’ve done what I must and it must be said
That I never wanted to be sacrificed in His stead
But a name binds, at the end of all days
I've seen the revelation, I know what I'll pay
Father, forgive me, for I have sinned
Father, forgive me, I cannot give in
Father, forgive me, I am too proud to bend
Father, forgive me, I am cursed to end
Father, forgive me, what have I done wrong
Father, forgive me, I was never that strong
Father, forgive me, it was all in the past
Father, please! Tell me I'm forgiven, at last.
Lord, have mercy on my wretched soul
Lord, give me peace that I might have a home
Lord, silence my worries and comfort my cries
Lord, give me solace until the hour I die
Father, if now you take this cup from me
I'll do what I must, for how clearly I can see
Father, in your name this Work shall be done
For I am nothing if I am not your Son
