Chapter Text
It was October and a certain brunette detective thought It was the perfect time to go camping with the whole ass ada (Lucy is part of the agency btw) and to his surprise the others agreed. So here they are in a fucking forest in the middle of October with tents and a fire in the middle of those tents so that they can make smores (Kenji and ranpo wanted to make them)
Kenji and Ranpo were eating marshmallows, kunikida was making dinner for them all, Dazai and Atsushi were looking for fire wood and Poe was looking for other things that could be useful like berries or leaves. It was quite peaceful till they suddenly heard a loud and terrified scream. Fukuzawa and Ranpo ran to find Poe sitting on the ground looking horrified, his finds being scattered on the floor.
"Is everything okay, my love?" Poe snapped his head up at the voice of his boyfriend before shaking his head. "What happened?" Ranpo walked up to the author and took him into his arms. Edgar clung to ranpo for dear life and buried his head into his chest before shaking his head again.
Fukuzawa crouched down in front of the two and put one of his hands on Poes knee. "We can't help you if you don't tell us what happened, we just want to help. You can trust us" Poe slowly looks at fukuzawa "there-there w-was... a-a " ranpo kissed his boyfriends forehead "it's fine, take it slow"
It took the author some time but eventually he calmed down. He told fukuzawa and Ranpo about a creature that he saw. He explained that it was super pale, had long black hair that covers most of it's face and black clothes that looked as if it wanted to go to a funeral. It suddenly appeared behind him and said something that he can't quite remember before it vanished into thin air before the two detectives reached them.
Fukuzawa and Ranpo shared a skeptical look (because something you don't know is that Poe has schizophrenia in my universe and it's quite extreme like he hears voices and actually sees creatures sometimes so they don't really believe what he just told them) ranpo took his face into his hands and looked him into the eyes.
"Dear, did you take your medication today?" Poe looked at ranpo in betrayal "you literally gave it to me this morning, you think I would be lying about something like that? I can still tell the difference between imagination and reality?" Ranpo didn't look convinced "you know your doctor said maybe we should up your dose a bit maybe he's right"
The author stood up "fine, don't believe me just see for yourself, I won't say 'i told you so' " he picked up the stuff that fell down and went to the tents, pouting as he did. Fukuzawas and Ranpo just looked after him for a bit before the got up themselves and to the fireplace.
Poe didn't talk to any of them, being a little peeved that they didn't take him seriously while he knows that they would've believed anyone else on this trip. (just not him😞) The evening is peaceful otherwise.
Kenji and kyouka played with stones, Dazai was his typical self and pissed kunikida off, Fukuzawa did paperwork in his tent, Ranpo and Lucy talked while Poe did a drawing challenge with the tanizakis.
"HAHAHAHAHAH is that supposed to be me? Big brother I love you but you're terrible at sketching" Naomi laughed her ass off at junichiro incompetence at drawing. "Edgar on the other hand is pretty good. You can sketch really well" the author blushed "thanks"
"We're almost out on fire wood!" Lucy said to the rest. Poe stood up "I will go look" (him not wanting anyone else to see the creature that scarred him) Naomi stood up as well and pulled Junichiro up with her "we will go with you!" "Ah...okay"
They went into the forest looking for dry sticks they can use for their fire. "Let's split" said junichiro"we will be faster than way" so they do just that even though Poe hesitated for a bit. Not long after Junichiro ran into the direction Poe went looking terrified. Naomi screamed before she ran to them as well. Poe huged them both and waited till they calmed down to discover that they saw the same creature he did.
Thay went to the tents again and told the others about what they saw. Ranpos eyes widen and he immediately stood up and hugged his boyfriend before apologizing for not believing him. Poe huged him back and nuzzled his face into his boyfriends hair.
The detectives were at a loss of what to do. They were stranded here for 2 days because the busses didn't go this way on weekends and it was to far away from literally anything. All they know is that there is some kind of ghost(?) that they have never seen before.
Will they make it without anyone getting hurt or traumatized?
