Work Text:
The room was quiet. The heater was working silently, warming the space on a winter night. Sirius and Severus were fast asleep on a large hotel bed, Sirius' head comfortably nestled on the other man's chest. Soon enough though, Sirius Black flinched, something unpleasant woke him up abruptly as he quickly shifted, trying to look into Severus' face.
"Sev, Severus!", he saw black eyes looking back at him, "I've.. *gasp* nearly killed you.. sending you there that night. All that blood-"
"Sirius", the voice said softly.
"You couldn't do anything against a werewolf.."
"It was a bad dream", Severus looked down patiently, taking Sirius' face in his hands.
"That damn prank, I thought.. I'm sorry.."
"Just a dream", Severus repetead. His fingers stroked the hair on Sirius' temples, doing the same small movements until the man seemed to calm down. The paler man was looking down without taking his eyes off, seemingly unbothered and calm. That quiet confidence had a somewhat magical effect on Sirius, who finally relaxed, still muttering.
"I'm sorry."
"I've forgiven you."
"And Remus. I should say sorry, to Remus."
"You've told him you're sorry at least five times so far, I think", Severus responded dozily. He wasn't looking anymore. "Doesn't seem to me like he ever held that little escapade against you."
"I should tell him, again.. I.."
"Yes, I forgive you, Sirius", Lupin spoke, his voice laden with weariness. He sounded very much awake.
"What?!", Sirius' eyes opened wide. "Remus? Where?"
Lupin lay at some distance from the intertwined Black and Snape, on the same bed, almost at the edge. Perhaps because he wasn't immune to the smell of alcohol, unlike Severus, or because of the number of movements Sirius would suddenly make while in his sleep.
"Remus! Remus? Why are you here?", Sirius whispered loudly.
"The heating in our room broke down, so I'm sleeping here, Dora is with Ginny", Lupine's a bit grouchy tone indicated that he'd been woken up once again that night.
"Tonks is with Ginny?", Sirius asked under the sound of Severus' snoring.
"She is."
"Why?"
"The heating is not working in our room."
"Your room?"
"Sirius, we're at the hotel. Everything's okay, just sleep. I'm spending the night here, and Ginny Weasly let Dora in. They are next door."
"Harry and Ginny checked in next door.."
"Yes..."
"But! Where is Harry then? Sev! Severus, wake up, where is Harry?!"
Harry Potter's tired voice came from a makeshift bed:
"Sirius, please sleep, I'm okay."
"See, he's fine", Severus muttered and patted Sirius gently on the head, as if touching a dog.
The room finally fell silent.
"How're you guys doing?", Tonks looked cautiously into the room, looking around at all four of them. Her sleep mask placed high over her mane of pink hair. "I've heard something."
"We're fine", "We're fine, Tonks", ("Please... let's all sleep"), there was a discordant set of many voices.
