After the awful the horrific treatment the 118 did, Evelyn knew she needed help. After sending her sister to live in Oahu with Steve and Danny, she’d be alone again. Blamed for breaking up her and Chimney, Evelyn saw his behaviour and knew it wouldn’t end well. Before it could get bad she begged Maddie to leave, to live in Oahu maybe finally give Danny a chance.
She’d made sure to keep her up to date with her life, lying about a lot of things and they begged her to come visit. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, or that she didn’t want to leave. Her requests were blocked, they promised to stop if she just told them where Maddie was. Evelyn never did, just stayed silent. Did her job, was forced to work a shift which resulted in her being crushed by a firetruck.
Luckily her sister didn’t find out, she begged them to remove it because of the pain. Eddie and Bobby went over her head and told them to save it. So now her leg hurt every single day, she tried to quit the fire department but couldn’t. So they’d berate her and bully her everyday when she’d fall or tremble from pain.
Evelyn did rehab, did everything in her power to get better.. it never worked. While she could afford getting an amputation and was highly recommended. She had no support system, Maddie had no idea, Steve started picking up that she looked thinner in calls. She played it off saying she was on a diet.
Maddie was thriving in Oahu, Danny and her had a son of their own. Matthew Williams. He was a few months old, she desperately wanted to meet him but kept making my excuses. Maddie couldn’t come to her because Evelyn made her promise she wouldn’t when she left.
She could do it, take the shit. Her contract ended soon, she’d have to meet with the chief personally to renew it so that’s when she’d finally be free.
Unfortunately, things never worked out the way you want.
