“Wait, Green, where are you even taking me?” The concerned voice belonging to Purple calls out as he’s practically dragged by the other, Green, to whatever was on his mind at the moment. “Oh, you’ll see soon, babe. Don’t worry!” Whatever it was, he sounded quite excited that’s for sure. Purple could only roll his eyes out of faux annoyance.
After a couple short moments featuring more running, they eventually reach a stop. “Well, this is it!” Green had a proud smile on his face as he turned to face Purple, “So... What’cha think?” Purple just stared at the sight in front of him, before smiling fondly. It was a quaint little picnic area, with the fairy lights to the baskets filled with snacks. As well as... a little box, with holes on the side. Huh, wonder what’s that about. “... It’s-... Oh, it’s beautiful...! Gosh, Green, how long did it take? For you to set this up, I mean?”
Green simply chuckled, a sheepish smile now on his face as Purple decided to take a closer look. “Well... I kinda had some help with my friends, of course, but I think it took us around... A couple hours or so, to set up and prepare everything.” From the distance, Purple simply giggled as they looked up at him. “And I say you and the others did a nice job.” A fond tone was used as Green went over to them, smiling fondly.
“Why thank you, kind sir.” Such a phrase earned a nudge to the chest as the two sat down on the soft blanket, which Green returned with a nudge as well (this time to the elbow). “Hey, you did not need to do that, mister!” Even if Purple’s voice sounded annoyed, there was a hint of laughter and playfulness in his tone. “Okay, okay, but I might as well remind you that you’re the one who started it?” Thus began their usual bantering, back and forth they went teasing and picking on one another like any other day.
It has gotten to the point in which Green’s friends, even King Orange (though the man would never admit it), would say every now and then that they’re like an old married couple.
At first, they tried to defend themselves from such a statement, especially when they were both crushing on each other (very hard, mind you), but ultimately decided to accept their fate. Even now, they’re reminded that they act like an old married couple.
Eventually, their laughter subsided, and the two just cuddled with one another side by side, relaxing in each other’s presence... It’s been quite a while since they were able to do this sort of thing, so this was a nice change for once. But a question lingered in Purple’s mind since they got here, and he couldn’t help but ask.
“... Hey, I... Just wanted to ask you something.” His words were quiet now, not exactly with fear but perhaps a tad bit of hesitance. “Hm? Yeah, what’s up?” The other looked at Purple with a tilt of his head, intrigued. “So I’ve kinda noticed that box, y’know the one with the holes and all...?” At the mention of the box, Green’s eyes almost lit up with excitement. “Ah! Right, I almost forgot!” There was such a profound giddiness in Green’s tone that it made Purple pretty much excited with him. Very much curious as well, of course.
Since the box was pretty much nearby, Green only had to move the upper half of his body before grabbing it, handing it over to his beloved with a smile on his face. Besides the holes near the lid, the box itself was quite cute. A lilac purple for the cover, as well as a little white bow topping it off on the lid. Of course, with encouragement from Green, Purple carefully opened a lid, the box containing “Is that... a cat?” He couldn’t help but ask, face filled with shock (and awe), as the little cat slept peacefully on top of what seemed to be a fluffy, small blanket.
“Yup! I actually got help from Red but uh... Yeah, I wanted to get you one, if that’s alright...?” Once again, the sheepish look on Green’s face returned, rubbing the back of his head as he chuckled. Purple couldn’t help but smile brightly as he very carefully took the cat out of the box and practically cradled it. “More than alright, Green... I can reassure you of that.” He whispered quietly. “I love it.” Hearing that made Green smile fondly, to which he couldn’t help but lean in and gave Purple a small kiss on the cheek (just for the sake of it). “I’m glad you do, love. I’m glad you do.”
