Chapter 1: The Phone Call

Chapter Text

Seokjin did it for a new cellphone. He wasn't proud, but he needed it. A flip phone simply couldn't work in this modern age anymore.

He wasn't proud, especially when Jimin told him that it was probably the best decision he's made in a long time. Kim Seokjin got a sugar daddy, and his name is Kim Namjoon.

The only reason why this was even possible was because of Jimin, who had a Sugar Daddy of his own. His name was Yoongi, and he was actually kind of nice. Yoongi just happened to know another rich bachelor like himself, who was looking for what he had. Seokjin had denied him at first, but still took the card that Yoongi gave him through Jimin.

Seokjin had studied the card for days, and almost called it a total of nine times. Finally, he managed to press the call button on the tenth try. It had been exactly one week. "Hello?" The voice on the other side said, and Seokjin felt his heart stop. He knew that Yoongi was surprisingly young for a Sugar Daddy, even younger than Seokjin himself, and he expected this male to be the same. He just never expected him to actually sound sexy.

"Um, hello. My name is Seokjin. Yoongi gave me your card a week ago about the, um, s-sugar daddy thing." He said, embarrassed to even mutter out those words. Namjoon gave a small chuckle, and Seokjin could hear his smirk through the receiver.

"Ah, yes. You're the one Yoongi hyung told me about." Seokjin almost choked on air when he heard the word 'hyung'.

I'm older than him? He thought.

"Yeah, I am. So, can I just ask you a few quick questions before we do or plan anything?" Seokjin asked, but he really shouldn't be so nervous. Seokjin knew Yoongi, and so far Yoongi actually seemed pretty respectable. So one of his friends should be the same, right?

"Go ahead, I've got a bit of time." He said, and Seokjin quickly grabbed the pad of paper he had brought with him.

"Why do you want a- someone like me?" He asked, not wanting to say those words again. They were just far too embarrassing. Namjoon hummed, seeming to be thinking his question over.

"Well, to be honest, it's hard for me to date. I'm really busy most of the time, and most people I get involved with don't necessarily like the fact that I'm a workaholic. So having someone like you, who can fit into my schedule, is a lot easier." Seokjin was a bit surprised by his answer, but he liked it. Onto the next question.

"How old are you?" Seokjin asked, but this was before he knew Namjoon was younger than him. Still, he wanted to know how much younger.

"I'm 21. Now, can I ask a question? How old are you?" He didn't wait for a response, and Seokjin supposed that he didn't have to. It was only fair, since Seokjin had already asked him two.

"23. I'll be turning 24 in December." He said, and for a moment Namjoon went silent. Seokjin's nervousness peaked for a moment, and he worried that age would become an issue. Did Namjoon not want someone older than him? Was Seokjin now royally screwed and doomed to have him stupid flip phone forever?

Apparently not.

Quietly, Seokjin heard Namjoon mutter something that sounded like 'Yoongi hyung, you bastard'. Seokjin had a look of confusion on his face, and he let out a small:

"What?" When he heard this. Namjoon realized that the other heard him, and he was chuckling a bit when he responded.

"Yoongi hyung knows that I like slightly older men. No wonder he insisted you were perfect." He muttered the last part under his breath, but Seokjin still caught it. It made his cheeks heat up a bit, now that he knew he already fit into a category that Namjoon liked. His worry faded away, and after a few more minutes of talking they finally started trying to decide where to meet.

"We could meet at this tea place my friend runs. It's called 'Sunshine Tae'." Seokjin suggested.

"Let me guess, your friend has 'Tae' in his name?" He asked, catching onto the play on words and laughing softly. Seokjin liked his laugh, but he tried to ignore that. This was a one time thing. That's all. He just needed enough money to buy a new phone, and then he'd be able to go back to his normal life.

"Sounds great. Does 1 o'clock tomorrow work for you?" He asked, and Seokjin let out an affirmative hum. "How will I know who you are?" Namjoon asked, and Seokjin glanced in the mirror on his wall.

"I have bleached blonde hair and I'll be wearing a black jacket." He told the other, Jimin having made him go shopping as soon as he'd gotten the card. He didn't mention that the jacket was velvet which Seokjin thought was a ridiculous choice, because what if it rained?

"Great. I'll see you then, Seokjin." The elder also liked the way he said his name, but he ignored that as well.

"See you then, Namjoon." He said, and once he hung up he practically threw himself back onto his bed.

"I have a date with a sugar daddy." He whispered to himself, before covering his face with his hands. Not only was it with a sugar daddy, but it was with Kim Namjoon, the youngster with the voice that effected both Seokjins pants and his heart.
