Warning- potential spoilers (there is canon weaved into the non-canon).
If you haven’t watched Hazbin Hotel, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND watching it before you read this- it will be impossible to understand everything if you haven’t. I do not spend a ton of time describing characters or settings unless there is a story based reason (like a character's reaction to them) as I assume you’re reading this because you’ve watched the show and don’t need me to describe it.
Watching Helluva Boss is recommended as well 😊
We are going way off-canon, so don’t read if that’ll annoy you too much. Here are some important things to know:
- I know Alastor is AroAce. I just happen to find him hotter than Hell (wink) and I wanted to write a smutty story about him. He & Emily are my ship, and I went with it. If that isn’t your ship, that is totally ok- just maybe not the story for you!
- Sera & Emily’s halos have 5 ‘points’ in the show, I am making this the mark of a Seraphim.
- Seraphim’s don’t have all their powers, and are not in their final ‘forms’ at the start of their existence. It’s why Sera is so much larger than Emily, and seems so much more powerful. Emily hasn’t come into her full powers, which will also determine what her final appearance looks like.
- I used the Hazbin Hotel ‘Journey to the Light’ wiki for some of the details, as it gave more depth to some characters and events. I believe this is fan created, not canon, but I found it very interesting.
- I am changing the timing of events of the show in terms of when the meeting in Heaven occurred- making it a few months before the Extermination instead of one month.
- Vaggie is not outed as an Angel in the meeting in Heaven (relax, it will happen).
- I am adding in the concept of mates among the demons, and males biting a female to mark them as their mate.
- This story only goes to the end of Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, and the end of Season 2 for Helluva Boss. I may do some bonus chapters later that occur before this story, or during it that I couldn’t make fit, but I am not including any of the events after the end of these seasons.
- I will sometimes give song suggestions at the end of a chapter- either I mentioned a song, or it’s something I was listening to which strongly influenced the chapter. Just some fun suggestions for you to check out if you want 🙂
- I sometimes include some French/Spanish for characters that reasonably (or canon) speak the language. I will put a translation at the end of the chapter. If you’re a fluent speaker and I got something wrong, please feel free to send me a message and let me know so I can correct it.
