Chapter Text
Loop – 23, Roswaal L. Mathers
Roswaal L. Mathers, the greatest mage known in Lugunica, is now inside a place known as “The Sanctuary”. He is now resting inside a house, clutching a black-colored book and smiling widely, as if he achieved something big.
“Soon, Teacher. After this this ordeal ends, I can reunite with you.”
Knock knock
“Co-o-ome inside.” Roswaal said. The doors opened and entered Natsuki Subaru flamboyantly and Rem gracefully entered inside the house.
“So, wha-a-at brings you tw-o-o here to my humble ab-o-ode? Are you two here to accept defeat?” Roswaal starts questioning them, with a grin on his face, detecting no hostility from them. Ram who was behind Roswaal, had a nervous expression seeing Subaru and Rem being close with each other.
"Please, let this be successful again, just like the last loop."
“Do you wish to tell him first Subaru-kun?” Rem asks to Subaru, with a tinge of uneasiness in her voice.
“I think you should tell him Rem.” Subaru, with fondness, gave a sense of comfort to Rem and took the initiative.
“Altair Mathers, what does the tome of wisdom command you to do now?” Roswaal eyes go wide after hearing that sentence, a sentence that he shouldn’t be hearing that from anyone, especially from Rem, the last person he expected. He looked at Ram in disbelief, but instead of sharing the same disbelief as him as he expected, she was unbothered by the revelation. Matter of fact, she was smiling at the two after hearing what she said.
“Okay I think you are getting confused as to who we are talking about.” Subaru then speaks up in the middle of his confusion. Roswaal nodded as he was still
"You showed me that book a few loops prior.”
“And that did not go well at all.” Ram said to herself, noting the horror the three witnessed a few loops prior. Ram can only thank Subaru and fate for cruelly bringing them back to the very first day the three met each other, else they would have lost Rem permanently.
“And about the book and its contents, Rem got to know what it is and what it can do from Subaru-kun and when investigating herself. And Nee-sama, I am disappointed in you for keeping this information away from me.”
“I seriously regret my action that I have attempted to hide this information from you, and I profusely apologize for my actions that have harmed both my dear sister Rem and my love Barusu.“ Ram bowed as she finished her apology statement, the two seeing her genuine apology, sighed and said—
“Apology accepted” Rem and Subaru said, with a faint smile on her face. "Now, there will be new rules following after your defeat, clown." Rem said, the last words laced with venom as she and Subaru starts listing out the new rules.
“Firstly, Rem and nee-sama will resign from being a maid of Roswaal L. Mathers and will become Natsuki Subaru’s personal maids.”
“Secondly, all the decisions regarding House Mathers and it’s governance will be handled by Emilia, me, Rem and Ram.”
“Thirdly, Roswaal L. Mathers will be bound to obey every command that Rem, nee-sama and Subaru-kun says, even if it feels stupid.
"Fourth, Roswaal L. Mathers cannot harm or attempt to attack any of my precious Rem and Ram and my friends.”
“And lastly, only Rem can call Natsuki Subaru as ‘Subaru-kun’, not you, clown. If you do want to call Subaru-kun, then, address him as either ‘Emilia’s Knight’ or ‘Subaru-sama’. …Yes, the last one was out of pettiness.” Rem said the final point out loud, as the new oath is now formed and if Roswaal attempted to break it he will have his soul burnt in the depths of hell.
As the two left to celebrate the new victory, Roswaal stares at the door, with shock. slowly, he stats to realize the gravity of the situation he fell under. Ram left for the door, only to turn back and say—
"The contract became null and void, ever since Barusu stepped into the mansion. And so, Ram will ask you to close that book and never see its contents again, for the rest of eternity." and Ram left the house, joining Rem and Subaru and celebrating their barely fought fourth victory. Roswaal could only stare in silence, and in tears as he saw his four hundred year old plans collapse in an instant.
