||Spooked!||

Summary:

A (very) short story for Ethubs placed during spooky season!

Bdubs finds his front door wide open, finding a surprise visitor in his bedroom.

Notes:

Wrote this for a short story prompt at school, meant for Halloween, but I don't turn things in on time apparently!

Work Text:

It was late into the evening, the feelings of late October all setting in as the landscapes started to appear lifeless and empty. Bdubs had been out for a quick walk, always having been a fan of autumn and the views it brought to his secluded neighbourhood. He had been on a decently long walk today, only returning to his home an hour or so later, seeing the front door wide open. Slowly approaching, he knew that he hadn’t left it unlocked, let alone swung wide open… Has someone broken in? Was there danger to be found once he walked inside? He took a quick deep breath before begrudgingly taking a hesitant step through the door.

Inside the house, it was quite dark, the only light on being the one in the kitchen that he had left on. It felt awfully eerie, the dark hallways and stairs that led to the old basement, but Bdubs told himself that it was fine, continuing his walk into the house after he had closed the door behind himself. The sense of dread hung low in the air as he held his breath without realizing it, flicking on the living room light-switch just to get out of the looming dark that he feared dearly. He placed his keys onto the kitchen table, remembering to breathe as he saw that no one appeared to be in the room, though he still should probably check the others nonetheless. Bdubs took another deep breath, briefly closing his eyes as he mentally prepared himself to go around checking each room to make sure no one had broken in while he was gone. I mean, for all he knew, it could’ve just been a friend that had invited themselves inside.

Carefully, Bdubs turned away from the kitchen table, starting his walk to the stairs leading to the upper floor of his house. He switched on the lights to the hallway before walking up the stairs, careful not to trip as his paranoia wracked his brain. “Everything was fine!” He told himself as he stood at the top of the stairs, nervously walking over and turning on the lights to his bedroom. He quickly glanced around the room, taking a step inside before hands suddenly grabbed him from behind, making him let out a yelp in fright, immediately turning around. He stared the person dead in the face, brief fear flashing across his face as he was quickly tackled onto his bed.

“AK!- Etho! You suck!” He whined out as he shifted away from the man on the bed, pouting over being scared by him. I mean, the man had left his front door open! That was just rude by itself.

“Oh, c’mon, you love me, Boo.” Etho replied with a small snicker, once again grabbing Bdubs and wrapping his arms around him, placing a quick peck to his temple as he hid his face against Bdubs' shoulder, giggling to himself.
