Li Li gets to just have fun for a bit

Summary:

While in the Dispellery neck of the woods of Evermore, Yu Kan talks with Li Li and realizes that she hasn't had much chance to have FUN in her young life, so she helps remedy that.

Notes:

Exclude numbers 14,57,83,13,9,25
go to the pickerwheel site, and pick 100 max and go right on from where I left off! (forgot it goes to 103, I'll fix that later)
----
49, which is Li Li, the little Goldpaw girl who runs the Dispellery, which is very close to the Sage's Salon, so she probably sees exactly who goes in every day. Very studious, her recruitment is canon-required by Boddly for that library-card-getting quest, cuz she has to help us learn Bridge, so we can get the stuff for the lipstick for Boddly, so SHE will give us access to the books Roland wants for research.
55, which is Yu Kan.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Oh good! this would be incredibly wholesome, with Yu Kan teaching her how to have some child-like enjoyment in things she never experienced, like vegetable foraging, I assume! She always acts so mature, and Yu Kan would be very good at determining that this means she has NOT had time TO BE IMMATURE, and she would do very well as the 'big sister' but not the 'mother' of a group, so she brings Li Li out scavenging with a younger group of students - oh wait, that's Miss Henny, she takes care of the 5-10 year old crowd.

Yu Kan is explicitly aiming her skills at very young children, more of a nursery teacher than an educator. If they worked together, Li Li would be saddled with some literal infants with no idea of how to handle them, lmao. Yu Kan would, of course, see Li LI struggling quickly, and help teach her how to interact with infants who cannot talk yet.

Well, I wouldn't call them co-workers, but I could picture, like, a day where Yu Kan comes up to the Sage's Salon or actually has some of her OWN stuff in need of dispellery-ing. like, maybe a kid cursed it by accident?? IDK how magic presents itself in this world, lol, perhaps that's just common when having a baby sorcerer, like having claw marks when you have kittens at home.

Anyway, they're both up on the slight hill in the corner (it's actually northeast corner of Evermore, since the Castle is at the West end and faces East, but on the map, it's oriented to make it seem like the northernmost side... anyway!), and Yu Kan recognizes the signs of a child that had to grow up too early, and does gentle maneuvering to encourage her to do some ridiculous things in the name of 'exploration' or smth, that's really to re-activate her inner child and let her play. Perhaps Yu Kan would encourage her to talk to the plants, to each one in turn, to check if any of them have magical essences or something - and when the Sage's Salon proved to be uninspiring, Yu Kan encourages her to go and check the nearby Multi Dimensional lab tomorrow.

So over a few days, Li Li spends a short period of every day inspecting most of Evermore's spell-related campuses, buildings, installations, to look for if any curses have been placed on any plants. She finds no /curses/, exactly, but finds that the Kingmaker Cathedral DOES have incredibly powerful magics around it, and thus befriends Hansel, the young human boy who works there, and he comes over to her quarter of the Kingdom from time to time and they talk about the great mysteries they are unraveling with their magical communion with the land and the divine... in the same breath as they talk about discovering new kinds of fish in Hydropolitan dishes - perhaps the big feast Helena hosted, with the 6 fangfish that had to be fresh!? that'd be fun to put in!

And Yu Kan eyes Speio as a prospective member to add to their group... perfect! :) That could have multiple chapters, as Yu Kan adds Pontus, and Chip. Those two are ALREADY friends (canonically), because Pontus is extremely exuberant and happy to talk to anyone, even standoffish Chip, who knows nothing about fish. Since their interests completely don't overlap, they don't fight for "who's smarter" in any way, and they just learn from each other, and it works out great for them!

Notes:

So that would mean that in that group of youngest kids would be:
Evan, Tani, Hansel, Alice, Nu Bi, Bao Wao, Li Li, Yung Mein, Pontus, Mylas.

Later teens include Rumpel, Norbert, Muriel, Long Mein, Hoi Den, Filippos, Speio, Daphne, Chip.

Oz, Candy, Cindy May, Brooke, Briana, and finally Sin-Gul and Senturi and Mileniyah.

People who are like 30-45 would include, Batu, Leander, Grimm and Raxel, Henny the tutor lady. Da Xing, Chi Pi the carpenter, Nereus the singer, Proteus the sad jewelry maker, Triton the himbo-scholar, Peleus with the skull-hat, Glaucus the grizzled, Halimede the hairdresser, Thetis the doctor (She HAS to be older than Lycorias, right??) Drew the dumb cop, Price the dragon-lover, Brodie the best manager ever, Kent the rocks guy, Eli the fashion French man, Jared the bulked-up, Krystal (may be older, but she doesn't show it cuz 'black don't crack' of course) Kimmy the competent cop, Morgan the buyer, Alexis the gun-lover, Francine the theater-lady. Dekkah, and Tyran.

People over 40 but not truly Elderly would include - Tyger, Fitch the Blacksmith, Crispin, Roden, Lady Trudy, Gao Jia, Yip Yip, Ketch and Tiller, Trey from Broadleaf.
