Work Text:

Five, four, three, two, one. Ready or not, Tinker Mel, here I come!

Seeking refuge under the pink mushroom, she tampers down her giggles. Mel hopes the surrounding moss conceals her green dress. Good thing her pixie dust finally disperses. This way, he cannot trace her flight path.

Mel bides her time, waits for Frank to sneak up on her like the first few times they played this game. He lets her loose in the forest and sniffs her out by the dust of her wings. This time, she figures a way to get ahead. She follows the bright sunbeam to hide the sparkly trail.

Except he finds her anyway. He always does. There's a tap on her shoulder and suddenly, she finds herself on the top of the mushroom instead. He lifts her up there before she can squeak in surprise.

Mel jumps in place. Oh, this is bouncy. Frank holds her by the hips, keeping her still enough to press a kiss to her lips.

"Got ya something, Tink," he whispers, smiling along with her.

Each time he leaves for the human world, he brings back a trinket for her. And having mastered his powers enough to shrink at will, Frank visits her more often. Brings her more gifts too.

He pulls a shiny circle out of the thin air. It's her height and golden like the sun, except it's hollow inside. Astonished, Mel immediately flutters around its circumference. "I swiped it off one of the pirates, figured you could work your magic and spruce it up."

"It's already so perfect, Frankie!"

"You think so?"

Mel nods furiously. "But, um– what is it?"

"Dunno," Frank shrugs, analyzing it with her, "some kind of cuff the humans wear on their finger I'd guess."

"Well they are giants." She floats back in front of him.

This is the hard part, asking if he'll linger a while longer. Mel doesn't need to ask, he soothes her apprehension before she speaks, like he's reading her mind. "They won't be seeing me for a while. Thought you should know that."

"Really?"

Frank nods, "I figured I'd stick around to see what you do with this thing. Got any ideas?"

Shaking her head and throwing her arms around his neck, Mel kisses him. Even slips a thank you for the gift between his lips.

Mel figures she'll return him to his human girl soon enough, but for now, she wants him like this. Jolly and energetic. Never ready to grow up, forever hers under the blinding Neverland sun.

yes her job is fixing things but that never includes his home #homewrecking_IN
