Chapter Text
She knew she had imaginary friends, she was a lonely kid. But one day, a very tall man started watching over her. She thought it was scary at first until he gave her a little flower. He was nice, he would even have play dates with her. She would talk about him to mom, it scared her really. "He is thiiiis tall!" She put her hand above her head as far as she could. "He wears all black, kind of like what daddy wears for work!" Her mom quirked her eyebrow as she was cooking, this was new for Kendall. Usually her imaginary friends were mermaids. "He's also very white." Kendall's mom snorted quietly. "He also has no face!" Kendall's mom froze, this was also new. "I don't like talking about him a lot though. The kids make fun of him." It was mostly her they made fun of. But Kendall's mom just slowly nodded.
Kendall was on the playground at school, she loved playing, well at least she did now. She used to sit in sandbox alone. But now she plays happily as her friend watches from the tree line. Kendall would have, and the man would stare. "You're a weirdo." The other girl said, catching Kendall's attention. "What?" The other girl scoffed. "We don’t like playing with you because you're weird." Kendall looked down sheepishly. "Oh, I'm sorry.." But the girl was gone, she looked back at the tree line. He was still there. She walked towards the tree line and stood infront of him, looking at the ground. "I hate them. I hate mom. I hate school. I want to go away." Kendall sniffled out, she looks up at him. He has his hand out, as if asking for something, wanting something, needing something. Kendall looked at his hand, the idea of taking it made her nervous, but when has she ever doubted him. Her one and only friend. Kendall looked around, trying to see if anyone was looking. Before taking his hand, being led into the trees.
KENDALL BROWN REPORTED MISSING. LAST SEEN AT WHITE OAK ELEMENTARY.
