Chapter Text
Tick, tick, tick, my alarm went in a irregular beat.
I groaned as I slammed my hand on my alarm to shut it up. I sat up, rubbing my eyes, its too early for this.
I brushed my hair out my face as I started walking to my closet, already grabbing my school uniform, I slid it on.
Afterwards, I head out my room, heading to the bathroom. I looked at my messy black hair in the mirror, reaching for my brush. I did my best to smooth it out, though some strands kept springing back out. I eventually gave up on it, and I brushed my teeth.
While I finished getting ready I heard the heavy steps walk past in the hallway, sounds like my dad's up.
I head downstairs, already seeing my dad grabbing the newspaper on the front door, "morning dad" I said shortly, opening the fridge. He replied with a simple 'hmph'.
After a few silent minutes, my dad finally spoke, "make sure not to be late for class today." I gave a slight nod.
After a more while of silence, I heard the honk of my friends car.
I quickly grabbed my backpack by the door and headed out.
I got in the passenger seat, seeing my friend Adam driving, "morning max, how was the summer here?" He spoke cheerfully, "it was fine, mostly stayed home." I said briefly.
He backed out of my driveway, and started driving towards the school, and I can hear the shouting of my other friends behind me, being as obnoxious as always.
I watched as he parked next to the old, crumbling building. We all got out, and split up to find our classes.
I walked around, knowing the place we'll enough, though while walking, someone suddenly collides with me, both of us falling to the ground.
I looked up to see the boy who collided with me, he looked a bit younger. "Watch where your going." I spat out. "Oh my goodness, I am so sorry!" He frantically grabbed his stuff that fell out.
I sighed, and helped him get his stuff together, seeing his freckled face. "Thank you." His voice sounded less panicked.
"Its no problem, just be careful." I stood up, grabbing my bag and walked away, seeing he walked in the other direction.
The first bell went off, great. Gotta head to homeroom. I walked for a good minute before I reached it, and I sat down near the window. More students were filling the classrooms. Adam sat down next to me. "Looks like we got the same room." he chatted out, then went to talking to the girl sitting in the table next to him.
The bell rang again as class started, and the teacher went over his usual stuff and blah blah blah. Suddenly a packet is dropped on the desk, oh you gotta be kidding me. Schoolwork on the first day?!
As much as I wanted to complain, I just did the work. "Hey, max." Adam whispered to me. "What do you want?" "Do you know the answer?" I sighed, "yes, I do, maybe if you payed attention you would understand." "Says you, you zoned out, your lucky your smart enough." He grumbled.

School finally ended after what felt like forever. I headed over to the cafeteria, sitting with my friends at a table. I listened, but wasn't fully in the conversation. I glanced around, and saw another group sitting nearby, they had a paper in the center of the table, and talked about something.
"Max?" I snapped back to reality as I looked at who called me. "Y-yeah?" "Were you even listening?" Randy questioned. "Sorry, my minds all over the place, what were you saying?" I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"You really need to focus, we were talking about some girls we met." He smirked, "which sorta made us wonder, are you seeing anyone?" God, not this again. "No, I havent." I stated factually. "Why not? A lot of girls are willing to date you," randy added, "so why don't you take advantage of your looks and brains and get a girl already."
"Its not as simple as that, randy." I clarified. I honestly dont understand why they think I should get a girlfriend, I mean sure girls are pretty, but I haven't really felt anything romantic for a girl.
Can't this day just end? I get a unexpected call, the word 'dad' flashing on the screen, "hey, I'll be right back, guys." I got up and went to an empty hallway.
I picked up the call, "yeah, dad?" I muttered. "Where are you?" He declared. "Im at school, dad" "why? It already ended" "Im hanging out with my frie-" "you head home, now." He intercepted. "....yes, dad." I muttered before hanging up.
What a way to end the day.
