Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Prologue – The Healer Will Start Again
Part 1
A Healer can’t do anything but heal.
I had accepted that I couldn’t do anything by myself.
I can’t fight without relying on someone, and I was used because of that.
I was used until I got to this point.
By the time I realized it, it was already over. My life was over.
So I’ll start over.
I’ll hide my will, I won’t let them know I’m sane. All to grasp victory at the very end.
Part 2
At the farthest land, there’s a pitch black world with a desolate land. There, we stood against the Demon Lord.
The Demon Lord was mankind’s enemy, the worst and most powerful existence. It was a girl with silver-colored hair and blood colored eyes. Her body was thin with a dark skin color.
A black provocative dress wrapped her slender body. She fluttered with her black wings like an angel.
“Humans! Will you take even the land of the dead, our last resting place?!”
The girl was out of breath. Her skin was covered in scars and she was bleeding.
Fighting her was mankind’s hope. The best party made of Heroes from many countries.
The Sword Hero, Blade. A beautiful woman that crossdresses as a man with a toned body, blonde hair and blue eyes. She carried a two-handed sword adorned with jewels, Divine Sword Ragnarok.
The Gun Hero, Bullet. A big man with a bald head. He carries a silver cannon that spits out magical power in the form of bullets, Holy Canon Taslam.
The Magic Hero, Flare. A beautiful girl with long pink hair and eyes. She is a Hero as well as a princess. She carries a divine staff made of the World Tree, Vanargand.
Then there’s me. Healing Hero Keyaru.
I’m the only Hero who doesn’t have a Divine Arms.
“Bullet, continue the bombardment. Don’t let the Demon Lord rest. I’ll break through her defenses with a strong attack.”
“Leave it to me.”
Gun Hero Bullet continues shooting magic bullets from the Holy Canon Taslam.
The power from the hero’s bombardment is comparable to Rank 5 magic, which is the highest rank a human can achieve. Each bullet he shoots goes through a different trajectory, making the Demon Lord click her tongue in annoyance while trying to dodge, but her escape path is cut off and she’s hit in the end.
In the meantime, the Magic Hero Flare chants and increases her magic power.
“Thank you for waiting. Rank 7 magic, Mjolnir.”
Magic Hero Flare unleashes a deadly magic.
Five layers of magic circles with several meters were deployed around me. That was Mjolnir, a Rank 7 spell.
A magic from the age of the gods, allowed only to the Magic Hero. It surpassed humanity’s upper limit of Rank 5 by two levels.
Lightning strikes from the sky, the voltage is so high it turns into plasma, and it comes down like a pillar of light.
Seeing this, the Demon Lord gives up on evading and focuses her all on deploying a barrier that blocks the pillars of light with all its might.
“Please stop her, Blade.”
“Leave it to me. The Divine Sword Ragnarok is filled with light. I’ll land the finishing blow.”
Following the Magic Hero’s Flare’s voice, the Sword Hero Blade ran. Divine Sword Ragnarok absorbed her sacred energy and glew white.
The Demon Lord who is defending against Mjolnir will be cut by the sword. That’s what the Sword Hero believed, but…
The Demon Lord makes a grim expression and opens her mouth.
“Don’t underestimate me!”
The heroes were too naive.
Feathers flutter and fall from the Demon Lord’s angel-like wings. Each one of them becomes a fallen angel monster.
The fallen angel monsters attacked the Sword Hero Blade. The Gun Hero Bullet continued his bombardment, trying to support Blade, but, as expected of the Demon Lord’s monsters, they evaded them all. And, even when it hits, it can’t take them down in a single shot.
The Sword Hero desperately tries to shake off the fallen angels with her sword, but each time she cuts one the Divine Sword Ragnarok’s glow fades. Until finally, it got stuck on the fifth body.
In the next moment, the Sword Hero was slashed by the fallen angels from all sides. She started bleeding and began to retreat in a hurry.
And that wasn’t all. Black light began to mix in with Mjolnir that was raining down on the Demon Lord.
“Humans, this is the power of the Demon Lord!”
Mjolnir’s light becomes completely black, The thunder then rises from the bottom to the skies and rains back down. Its target was now the Magic and Gun Heroes.
The Demon Lord wasn’t just defending against the spell. She was taking it over. To take control of magic from the age of the gods takes incredible skill and knowledge, way beyond what a human can do.
“Kyaaaaaaa!”
“Guaaaaaa!”
The Magic Hero Flare, who has high magic resistance, was seriously injured. The Gun Hero Bullet was burned to death.
All it would take to defeat the Demon Lord was one more step, but, even in that situation, the Demon Lord turned the tables on the Hero Party and drove them to a desperate situation.
The only one who is unharmed is me, the Healing Hero.
“Oi, you shit, hurry up and heal me! I’ve run out of elixir. That’s all you’re good for, so hurry up and do it!”
The Sword Hero shouts at me, but I ignore her. Her face is dyed with anger and she shouts again.
“Don’t ignore me! That’s why you’re still alive!”
Despite us both being heroes, the Sword Hero is always looking down on me. It can’t be helped.
To begin with, a Hero is too strong. There’s no need to heal because they rarely get injured. Then there’s the elixir, an item that can heal anything except for missing body parts. An elixir is a valuable item, but countries around the world collected them to give them to the Hero Party.
The Healing Hero can only use Heal, so if you have an elixir you don’t need the Healing Hero. I’m just a backup for when elixirs run out or to avoid using them in the first place.
“Hey, are you listening you trash?! Did the drug make you go crazy?!”
Hearing the word “drug” I couldn’t help but smile to myself. Yes, I was a severe drug addict.
Heal has a fatal flaw. It’s a spell that returns the target to their normal state.
But what’s normal differs from person to person, so you can’t use it without knowing everything about the target. Unless the experience ingrained in the body is reproduced, it won’t be a perfect treatment.
That’s why this spell gives all the experiences from Heal’s target to the caster in an instant, so the caster will perfectly understand their target.
It’s a horrible experience, to have another’s fear and pain enter your mind. No sane person can withstand that.
I ran away once, I didn’t want to use this power. But I was caught and drugged, losing both my sense of fear and pain. I was made into a drug addict who would happily use Heal just for some drugs. My ego was broken and I became a domesticated pet.
As a general rule, healers cannot use Heal on themselves. Corrupted by drugs, broken and even forgetting who I am, to the point I didn’t even realize I was breaking. I was just used for their convenience.
“Who is going to heal you? Go die you shit.”
I spit those words at the Sword Hero. She looks like a nice young man, but she’s actually a lesbian who seduces women and hates men. She crossdresses in order to lure her targets.
“You- it can’t be, your consciousness-”
The Sword Hero raises her voice in surprise. It’s no wonder. We first met three years ago, and by then I was already broken. During that time, I simply obeyed orders like a machine.
A year ago, I gained the Drug Resistance skill and recovered my sanity.
After healing my body, which had been destroyed by my drug dependency, I continued to secretly sharpen my fangs, trying to not let anyone notice I had regained my sanity.
All for this day.
I run. The target is the Demon Lord. I’ll defeat the Demon Lord and get that.
“Are you stupid, or do you want to die? You’re not strong enough to fight! Come back and heal me!”
I ignored the shouting of the Sword Hero Blade and aimed straight for the Demon Lord. Countless fallen angels came towards me. But… don’t be afraid.
“Too slow.”
While dodging the attacks of the fallen angels, I continue dashing forward. It was pure physical ability that made it possible. Martial arts of the most efficient movements allowed to humans.
I have healed countless people, relieved their experiences and made their powers my own. Among them were masters of martial arts.
Heal’s side effect wasn’t just a demerit, it also gave me strength. My movements surpass even the Sword Hero.
This is it!
“Imitation Heal.”
I was amazed when I came to my senses, after all, I had countless skills and knowledge.
Many masters, many sages. Their powers and knowledge were inside me. Seeing how fast I was, the fallen angels glad themselves in black light. It’s a reinforcement method.
The fallen angels get faster and attack me from all sides. I click my tongue. Even with the best skills, it’s impossible to avoid. In this case, I have no choice but to increase my own power.
“Transformation Heal.”
I used a skill that I developed, Transformation Heal.
Originally, Heal is a spell that returns the target to their natural state. But, if you can do that, can’t you change it to something else? I thought.
So right now, using Transformation Heal, I changed my body into one suitable for combat.
As a result, my physical ability rises considerably and I can now dodge attacks I couldn’t before. I get even closer to the Demon Lord.
“As expected of the Demon Lord’s familiars, you’re persistent.”
The fallen angels don’t give up no matter how much I dodge. They gather together and merge. They don’t get bigger, but their power grows to a point I didn’t even think possible.
It’s an overwhelming presence.
The fallen angel rises and falls back down towards me. I can’t dodge it, but I can deal with it. Grab the arm that was going to punch me and…
“Corruption Heal.”
I activate my spell.
If you can reconstruct something, you can easily destroy it.
A living creature’s body is surprisingly fragile. Just connect blood vessels that shouldn’t be connected, or disconnect the spinal cord from the brain. Just do any of those trivial things and it breaks.
The most scary part about Heal is that it ignores all resistances. Creatures naturally accept Heal.
In other words, it’s a sure 1-hit kill move that disregards all defenses.
The fallen angel crumbles down. When the Demon Lord sees me, her eyes widen in fear and she raises her voice.
“Who are you?”
“Healing Hero Keyaru. Just a healer.”
Heal isn’t just about healing. The moment I realized that, everything changed.
Make my opponents’ skills my own with Imitation Heal.
Modify the body into a desired shape with Transformation Heal.
Instant death magic that’s impossible to defend against with Corruption Heal.
If I had those powers four years ago, my life would have been much different. My goal is to make that dream come true.
The Demon Lord shoots countless jet-black bullets towards me, but it’s all in vain.
The knowledge of the sage inside me read the formula. I could foresee the speed, power and trajectory of the shots. Combined with the skills of the best fighters and enhanced physical abilities, I could dodge it all.
Through the rain of black bullets, I reach out to the Demon Lord. If I can touch her I win.
“I reached!”
Now all that’s left is to use that single spell.
“I see, so this is where my life ends. It’s frustrating. I couldn’t protect it.”
The Demon Lord’s expression was a mix of crying and smiling, she has accepted the end. For some reason, I feel a terrible sense of guilt seeing her.
But I can’t stop. I have my own purpose.
“Corruption Heal.”
Even the Demon Lord is powerless against my Corruption Heal. She peacefully meets her end while crumbling.
“Don’t worry, I’ll start again soon.”
I muttered. Then, I pulled out a red gemstone, the Demon Lord’s heart. That is my objective.
“Good job, Healing Hero Keyaru. Father, no, the king will be pleased. *Cough* By the way, that jewel seems to be under some curse. Let me, the Magic Hero, take care of it.”
Flare must have had a hidden elixir she used to recover from the damage from the black lighting. She smiled at me. I feel nauseous.
She hasn’t smiled at me since I refused to use Heal. She always looked at me like I was some stray dog.
She took me from my village when I awoke as a Hero, captured me when I refused to use my power and drugged me in order to use my power.
“The Philosopher’s Stone.”
The moment I said it, Flare, the Magic Hero, twitched.
“Is this why you wanted to kill the Demon Lord? The ultimate tool that explosively enhances the power of all kinds of magic. If you have this, you can even use forbidden spells.”
I have used Heal on Flare, so I know everything about her.
Originally, there are two kinds of monsters: the monsters that are controlled by the demons and the monsters that appear randomly and attack on instinct.
Overall, demons and humans have been living well together by keeping a fair distance. That changed 10 years ago. There was a brutal incident where a group of monsters led by demons attacked a human country.
In order to protect humanity, the Jioral Kingdom made a fuss about exterminating the demons and the Demon Lord.
But it was all a lie, fabricated evidence to make humanity side with the Jioral Kingdom and attack the demons. What Jioral Kingdom wanted was the Demon Lord’ heart.
But, in order to do that, money and troops are necessary. That’s why those 10 years of war were necessary.
“Oh wow, you’re knowledgeable. To think the Demon Lord’s heart had such a name.”
“I also know you’re planning to use the Philosopher’s Stone to cast a forbidden spell for world domination.”
The princess’ expression changed for a moment, but it soon went back to her pretty smiling face.
“I don’t know about any of that.”
“In that case, I’ll use it.”
I’ve been pretending to still be an addict in order to trick them all. There’s no way I’m letting go of it now.
“What for?”
“The Philosopher’s Stone increases the power of all magic. I’ll use it together with Heal. There’s something I desperately need to heal.”
Yes, there’s something I need to fix. Something that can never be repaired normally. That’s what I desire.
“You can’t possibly?!”
“I’ll restore this rotten world to before I met you four years ago.”
It’s something that’s not normally possible with just Heal, but I can do it with the Philosopher’s Stone.
“That’s impossible! Even if you could do it, your memories would be wiped as well. You’d just repeat the same mistakes again. Don’t do anything stupid. Give me that stone and a happy life awaits you, the royal family will make sure of it.”
I smile at Flare as she reaches for the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s not a bad deal, to give it to her.
Idiot, as if I’d ever do that.
“It’s true that I’ll probably forget, but I won’t make the same mistakes again. Even if my mind forgets, my soul will never forget this pain.”
All that despair, grief and pain, it’s all engraved into my soul. Even if time is rewind and I lose my memories, that won’t disappear.
The new me will definitely see the powers of Heal and start over.
“See you later, princess. When I meet you again after the world is healed, I’ll be sure to take everything from you.”
“You really-!”
Realising my seriousness, Flare points her staff at me. But it’s already too late. I’ve already increased my magic power to the limit, all that’s left to do is release it.
“Heal!”
Bright red light erupts from the Philosopher’s Stone. I cast Heal on the whole world. I restore everything to how it should be.
The four years that passed come back, we return to that day.
Do better next time, me. I’m sure you can do it. Even if the memories are gone, the pain will remain with you.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 1 – The Boy Has A Dream
Part 1
I fell out of the bed. My body is sweaty and I feel sick.
“Ha, ha, ha. That dream again.”
It’s a dream where I become a Hero and fight against the Demon Lord. I don’t know how many times I’ve had that dream.
I know who I am very well. Just a villager, nothing more nothing less.
“Is the sun already rising?”
I looked out the window and saw that it was dawn. Just the right time to get up and head to work.
I change from my sleepwear into my normal clothes. I take a bite out of an apple, that’s my breakfast.
I put on a large basket on my back and also get my work tools. With this, I’m ready to begin another day.
“I’m going, dad, mom.”
No reply comes, not that I expected any. My parents are already dead, they were attacked by monsters. This is just an old habit.
Part 2
I head outside the house.
The village I live in is fairly large and is divided into three areas: the commercial area, the residential area and the agricultural area.
The residential area is surrounded by waterways and full of greenery. From there, I make my way to the agricultural area.
I make my living as an apple farmer.
My parents died and I’m all alone now, but I manage to survive thanks to the house and apple orchard my parents left me.
I reached the orchard.
“The harvest is finally here.”
I smile at the apples. They’re quite good looking, it looks like it’ll be a good harvest.
I climb on the tree and start putting the red apples on my basket one after the other.
I hear a voice inside me.
Is it okay if I stay like this?
Isn’t there something else I should be doing?
Is it alright to not become stronger?
“I’m being too hasty. I haven’t even gotten my class yet.”
Once humans reach 14 years, they awaken to their class. Depending on the class, various parameters are strengthened. If you don’t have a fighting class, then you can’t fight properly. And skills are also granted depending on the class.
For example, if you are a Swordsman, you can learn sword skills and easily increase your proficiency. On the other hand, if you’re a Magician, you can’t fight with a sword.
Sure, you can pick up a sword and swing it around, but you’ll never be as good as someone with the right skills. You’ll also be missing points in physical attacks and stuff like that.
There’s still 7 days until my fourteenth birthday.
I’ve decided that, if I happen to get a good class, then I’ll leave the village and go on an adventure.
Right now is the time for harvest, the time to turn fruits into gold. I won’t have money troubles when I go on my adventure.
With that small hope in my heart, I continued harvesting apples.
Part 3
By the time I finished my harvest, the sun had begun to set. Just as I decided to go home, I heard a scream.
Could it be?!
I hurriedly run to the source of the scream. I reach a field of wheat.
On that field, I see something that shouldn’t be there. A wild boar monster with short legs and a stone shell was attacking the villagers.
“A monster?! Did it pass the defensive walls?”
The villagers are just normal farmers, their classes aren’t combat focused, so there was no way to take care of that monster. I’m also a farmer, but I don’t even have a class, so I can’t fight either.
After a while, the guards should come and deal with the monster. But…
“Anna-san!”
I saw a familiar face. She’s the woman who took care of me after my parents died. She doesn’t have any children of her own, but she and her husband took care of me as if I was their own child.
Anna-san stumbled and failed to escape. At this rate, she’ll be killed before the guards arrive.
But, even if I go, nothing will change. Far from a combat class, I don’t even have a class.
That’s wrong. Why are you afraid of a monster of that level? I know that type of monster. Knowledge is also a weapon, status isn’t everything.
The voice in my head seemed stronger than usual. By the time I noticed it, I was already running.
Somehow, I know that monster.
That monster isn’t a boar. It’s a Rock Maul. It’s a mole kind of monster.
That’s how it was able to pass the walls, it dug under them.
But it has a fatal weakness.
Its eyes have deteriorated and it can barely see. It relies on the Eimer organ at the top of its nose to find prey. It detects the vibrations transmitted on the ground.
It’s only weakness is that organ, which isn’t covered by any rocks. It probably can’t do its job if it’s covered by rocks.
It’s right there for everyone to see. Even the powerless me can damage it.
“Haaaaaaaa!”
I sprint and jump. It feels the vibrations coming from the ground. That means it can’t detect me in the air.
I landed and grabbed onto the neck of the giant stone boar, or rather the stone mole. He didn’t notice it until it was too late.
I stabbed my knife at the Eimer organ on its nose, the weak point not covered by rocks.
“Kyuiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!”
The stone mole goes on a rampage and I’m easily shaken off. I stare at its nose.
With my current status I can’t even kill it, only hurt it. If I can’t kill it by sticking a knife into its weak point with all my strength, then there’s just nothing I can do.
It’s frustrating. I bite my own teeth.
What’s your objective? Why are you trying to kill it when you’re supposed to be helping her?
Hearing the voice in my head, I come back to my senses. I rush to Anna-san’s side, help her up and leave the place with her.
The stone mole is violently rampaging, but it doesn’t sense either me or Anna-san.
“Keyaru-kun, thank you. But is it okay to anger that monster?”
“It’s okay. He can’t sense anything anymore.”
It only has one sensory organ, and it’s damaged. That’s enough for my objective of saving Anna-san. My goal was never to beat it. I’ll leave the rest for the guards to take care of.
Part 4
After a while, the guards showed up and defeated the stone mole.
Everyone praised me for helping Anna-san, and then scolded me for being reckless.
“Ever since you were little, you said you wanted to become a hero and save everyone. If it’s Keyaru, then maybe you really will become a hero.”
Anna-san said that to me after scolding me. She said it while smiling.
Become a hero and save everyone, that was my dream. Ever since my parents were killed by monsters, that’s what I decided to do. That’s why I wanted to become strong, so no one would be sad.
“Oi, Keyaru, weren’t you afraid of such a big monster?”
Ainsu, a big strong man, asked me.
“I wasn’t scared.”
“Oi oi, that’s a problem. Don’t be too reckless.”
When I fought that stone mole, my heart was strangely cold. I don’t think I was reckless, I knew its weakness and took advantage of it.
It should have been the first time I fought a monster like that, but I felt like it was part of my daily life.
Does it have something to do with the dreams I have every night? As I was thinking about that, the voice echoed in my head again.
Become strong, enough to not lose to anyone. I’ll teach you all I know for you to become strong. I remember the experiences of many adventures and sages. Use it all to get stronger even a second faster. Get the spirit eyes. The eye that can see everything in the universe.
What’s this? I never heard the voice so clearly before.
I say goodbye to the villagers surrounding me and leave. Alone, I ran.
“What the hell is this?!”
My legs move naturally, as if guided by something.
I now know that the forest near the village there’s a point of connection with the spirit world. If I can speak the ancient words and perform the ritual, I can get the spirit eye.
Just like with the stone mole, I somehow know this. The best time is in five days, when the stars align. If I miss that, the next time is in 34 years.
Thinking about it with common sense, this voice can only mean I’m going crazy. But somehow, I can’t make myself ignore it. I feel like, if I do, I’ll lose everything.
Being weak is a sin, it has that kind of feeling to it.
Once you get the eye, you’ll remember everything. I can’t afford to repeat it all again. This time, I’ll live a happy life for sure.
I start feeling impatient. I feel like, if I go there and get the spirit eye, I’ll be able to understand everything.
With a few apples on my bag and the clothes on my back, I started running towards a place I shouldn’t have known.
That’s when I realized, I was laughing. I see… I’m looking forward to it then. Then let’s go retrieve the true me.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 2 – The Boy Remembers Everything
Part 1
Get the spirit eye.
Following the voice in my head, I left the village and advanced in the forest. It’s getting dark.
The forest at night is scary. Visibility is limited and the monsters are more active. Being outside the village’s walls, it wouldn’t be surprising if I was attacked by a monster and killed. It’s suicidal.
I take out my knife and peel off the bark from a nearby tree. I smear the sap from the tree on my body. The monsters from here hate the smell of this sap.
The monsters that don’t dislike the smell of this sap can be divided into two groups: those that hate fire and those that are territorial.
So long as I have the sap on me, carry a torch and watch out for the territorial marks, I should be able to pass through the forest. The voice told me so.
“Just what am I doing?”
Listening to a voice in my head without a second thought. Maybe I am going crazy.
If this voice is an illusion, I’ll be monster food by dawn. The countermeasures will be useless and I’ll be attacked at night.
But, when the Stone Maul attacked, I listened to the voice and I was able to save Anna-san. If I survive the night, the voice and the story about the spirits will have even more credibility.
So let’s keep moving. I don’t have much time.
Considering the distance, if I don’t traverse the forest with all I can, I won’t make it in time. So I kept walking through the woods.
Part 2
Four days have passed since I left the village.
I only have a day left. The connection with the spirit world only happens when the stars align. I’ve been walking through the forest without sleep since yesterday.
My fatigue is building up.
Not only did I have trouble sleeping, I also haven’t been eating well. I already ate the apples, so now I’m only eating wild vegetables and animals I’ve hunted in the forest.
My body is weak and my vision is getting blurry.
But I got here.
I followed the voice and came this far. There’s no way I could have made it here without it.
So I walk walk and walk, until I arrive on the fifth night. There was a beautiful lake among the trees. I open my eyes wide and the stars start shining in the sky.
With the ability to read the stars that I shouldn’t know, I correctly read the positioning of the stars. The gate is about to open.
“Now, to get the spirit eye and remember everything.”
The lake absorbs the light of the stars. It’s started. My mouth opens.
“———-”
I speak old words for the spirit to hear.
Sometimes, the spirits receive a favor from humans. In return, the spirits promise to return the favor to their benefactor’s descendants. If their descendants can reach this place, read the stars and recite the ancient words, the spirits will return the favor.
Of course, my ancestors never helped a spirit. I’m just using the knowledge I stole from someone else.
It just so happened that there’s a place that connects to the spirit world near my village, and the stars happened to align. Because I know the words, I can take the reward.
I just stopped thinking why I know all this. I’m just hoping everything will make sense once I get the spirit eye.
The lake shone brightly. All the light that was absorbed was released at once. A blue pillar of light appears at the center of the lake. There was a beautiful woman there. She had transparent wings and a translucent blue robe covered her body.
That beautiful woman opens her mouth slowly.
“I am the Star Spirit. Child of man, keeping true to the ancient contract, I will now repay the favor for your ancestor helping my friend. What do you wish for?”
The spirit gave me the options of the arms that can crush everything, legs that can cross any storm, ears that could hear from a thousand miles, or eyes that could see everything. My answer was already decided.
“I want the eye. Please give me the eyes that can see everything.”
Then, the Star Spirit slowly floated in front of me. I instinctively closed my eyes, then I felt a soft sensation on my eyelids twice.
“Child of man, I have given you the eye as repayment of the favor.”
My eye feels hot, but not painful. This heat, it’s power. I open my eyes.
“So this is the spirit eye.”
I’m at a loss for words. I can see the mana flowing in the air, the flow of the dragon veins, the status and skills of the spirit and even her true name.
What an amazing power! This is absolutely necessary for the class I’m going to awaken to. I look at my own reflection in the lake. My eye was shining green.
“I see, I understand now.”
I saw the truth of the world and remembered everything. The despair of the past and the longing for a second chance.
Even if the memories disappear, the things engraved in the soul remain. The fog clears, and the memories from my soul’s wounds return.
I found myself.
“Thank you, Star Spirit.”
After I thank her, the spirit smiles and disappears.
This is the spirit eye, no, the Jade Eye. My advance preparations are going well.
In two days, I’ll awaken as a Healer, and the hero mark will be engraved in my right hand. I’ll be chosen as one of the ten heroes in the world.
“First, I should retrace history. I have the knowledge, but the skills are gone. If I follow my past life, then I’ll be drugged and forced to heal military warriors. I suppose it’s not bad to get those warrior’s skills.”
But above all…
“I promised, didn’t I? This time, I’ll be the one to take everything from her.”
The image of a single woman came to mind. The pink haired princess, and Magic Hero, Flare.
Hurry back to the village and meet her again, that’s my first step.
My face that appeared on the surface of the water wasn’t that of a simple boy, but of a distorted demon.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 3 – The Boy Awakens As A Healer
Part 1
I remembered everything when I got the spirit eye, the Jade Eye.
A future where I’d been used. I used Heal on the world and returned to the past. if nothing is done, that will simply repeat itself.
That is unacceptable. I must take immediate measures to avoid it.
“First of all, I’ll awake to my class in two days.”
There are two days left until my 14th birthday. At that moment, when I become an adult, I’ll awaken to my class.
Of course, I’ll get the Healer class. And not just that, the Hero class as well.
“Why do I have to be a Hero anyway?”
Only 10 people in the world can get the Hero class, chosen by the gods.
There are four main abilities that come with this extra class:
Strengthen the class’ abilities past the normal limits
All creatures have a level cap, but Heroes don’t
Double the amount of experience obtained for the Hero and their party.
Increase another’s level cap by performing a certain act
It’s a useful power, worthy of a Hero. There’s no doubt that the reason why I can use Imitation Heal, Transformation Heal and Corruption Heal is because I am a Hero.
Also, not having a level limit is also good. The usual cap is between level 20 to 30, but mine is infinite. I can become infinitely strong forever. A different dimension from ordinary people.
There’s also the experience boost. If my memories from my previous life are correct, the experience is doubled for every Hero. So, in a party with four Heroes, it’s 16 times the amount.
“Well, Flare should arrive a week from now.”
It seems that princess Flare, who has already awakened as the Magic Hero, has the ability to detect and search for a newly born Hero. This time as well, she’ll come to pick me up.
There are only 10 Heroes in the world. They’re a valuable firepower that countries simply can’t let go of.
As I walk through the woods, I start making my plans.
“First, escaping from Jioral Kingdom is impossible.”
There are two main reasons for that:
First, I can’t escape from Flare’s skill that can detect other Heroes. Even more so with a low level and no useful skills, I’d never be able to break through a siege from the royal family’s elite forces. If I really wanted to run away, I’d have to do something about Flare’s detection.
There can only be 10 Heroes in the world. That means that, if a troublesome Hero is born, it’s better for the royal family to kill them and wait for the birth of a new Hero.
Second, I want to use Imitation Heal on people with useful skills.
In the previous history, I couldn’t bear the pain of using Heal and ran away. But, once I was caught, they made me heal all the warriors who couldn’t be cured with an elixir.
It was a nightmarish experience, but it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to use Imitation Heal on all kinds of people with all kinds of skills.
Based on all this, there’s only one option I can take. Retrace history up until when I’m captured, take that chance to use Imitation Heal on as many people as I can and then escape. But obviously, there are hurdles in the way.
“I’ll need the Drug Resistance skill. If I just become an addict again, it’ll be the same as last time.”
I need the Drug Resistance skill so I can maintain my sense of self even while drugged.
And I’ll also need strength to escape. I want to raise my level, but there’s no need to worry. I have Looting Heal. As I use Imitation Heal, I’ll steal both the skills and levels.
Since that’s decided, I’m ready.
As I walk back to the village, I collect poison plants and mushrooms and put them in my bag.
The reason why it took me so long to acquire Drug Resistance in my previous life was because I surrendered to the pleasure of the drug. To acquire that skill, it’s necessary to resist the drug.
So I’ll train my resistance for the following week. By resisting it for that long, my proficiency will rise considerably. It’s impossible to get the skill in a single week, but with the accumulated proficiency and a strong mind, I’ll be able to get it in the not too distant future.
“It’s not fun to just run away. I’ll break Flare and take her away.”
In the previous world, she drugged me and turned me into a machine that simply healed.
So I’ll do the same. While escaping, I’ll kidnap Flare and use Transformation Heal on her.
But I’m not an oni either. The Flare of this world hasn’t harmed me, I can’t take revenge on her like that. If, by some chance, she doesn’t try to break me, I’ll let her go.
But, if she tries to break me again, I’ll take revenge on her. I’ll teach that woman how it feels to be used as livestock.
With those thoughts, I ingested just enough poison plants to not die. Sometimes, I used a poison to counteract the other while I avoided the monsters and continued walking.
Part 2
It’s been two days since I got the Jade Eye.
I’m getting used to the poison. When I go to the river to drink water, I’m surprised with my own reflection. Sunken cheeks and hollow eyes.
Maybe I exaggerated a bit. No, it’s fine. It won’t be effective if it’s not this much.
Looking up at the sky, the full moon was shining brightly. Suddenly, I feel a burning pain on my right hand.
“Is it here?”
A geometrical crest has been engraved on the back of my hand. The Hero mark. I was chosen as a Hero again. I should also have awakened to my class now.
I look at the surface of the water and strain my eyes. The Jade Eye I obtained from the spirit starts glowing.
Originally, the status can’t be seen without an expensive tool called an Appraiser. But I can see it by using the Jade Eye.
Race: Human
Name: Keyaru
Class: Healer / Hero
Level: 1
Status:
MP: 12/12
Physical Attack: 5
Physical Defense: 6
Magical Attack: 7
Magical Defense: 8
Speed: 7
Abilities:
Healing Magic level 1
Skills:
MP Recovery Rate Increase level 1: Healer skill. MP recovers 10% faster.
Healing Ability improvement level 1: Healer skill. Adds a positive correction to Healing Magic.
EXP increase: Hero exclusive skill. Doubles the values of EXP for you and your party.
Level Limit Breakthrough (self): Hero exclusive skill. No level limit.
Level Limit Breakthrough (others): Hero exclusive skill. By giving body fluids with magic power, there’s a chance the other party’s level cap will be increased by 1.
Being able to check the status with just my eye, without needing tools, is convenient. Especially since I can use Imitation Heal to steal skills.
With this, I can identify people with good skills and use Imitation Heal on them and copy the skill. And the power of the Jade Eye doesn’t end here. Up until here is only what an Appraisal can show, but the Jade Eye can see even further.
Level Limit: ∞
Talent Values:
MP: 110
Physical Attack: 50
Physical Defense: 50
Magical Attack: 105
Magical Defense: 125
Speed: 120
Total Talent Value: 560
Level cap and talent values.
Every creature has a maximum level value they can reach. By looking at this, you can see what someone is truly capable of. It doesn’t matter how high your status is,if your level cap is 10, then it’s useless.
But what’s important is your talent values. Your status comes from your level and talent values.
If your talent is low, you won’t be strong no matter how much you level up.
I’m a Healer, so my physical talents are low, but everything else is high.
No matter how strong a Hero is, it’s hard to fight alone. With this Jade Eye, I’ll be able to find people with talent.
“Got the Healer and Hero classes, I’m preparing for Drug Resistance and I have the Jade Eye. Everything’s ready, all that’s left is to trace history. It’s funny, I hated Flare so much, but now I’m looking forward to meeting her.”
I’m praying. Praying that this world’s Flare is also a piece of shit. Then, I’ll be able to take revenge without hesitation. I’ll cherish her as my cute little pet.
With a faint smile, I stood up and started walking. One step at a time, heading towards revenge.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 4 – The Healer Meets The Magic Hero
Part 1
On my 14th birthday, I got the Healer class and the Extra Class called Hero, which only 10 people in the world can have at once.
After getting my class, I’m returning to my village. Of course, I’m not just walking. I’m also ingesting poison to build up my Drug Resistance.
“Heal.”
I place my right hand on my body and use Heal to remove the toxins from my body.
“I also need to increase my healing proficiency.”
I mutter to myself. Originally, it’s really difficult to cast healing magic on yourself. When you cast magic, a kind of noise enters your body, making it impossible to control the magic. But I’ve used Heal tens of thousands of times. I just have to predict how my target will change and change my spell accordingly.
Because I can treat poison now, the pace at which I raise my Drug Resistance proficiency has increased.
But my MP runs out after using Heal just four times. It’ll be hard if I don’t level up and increase my MP. So, three days after getting my class and walking through the woods, I finally arrived back at my village.
Part 2
Once I arrived back at my village, my acquaintances came running up to me. I must have made them worry, being gone without a word for 10 days.
They asked me a lot of things, but I had to deceive them. Even if I told them, no one would believe me.
My Jade Eye doesn’t glow green if I’m not using it, so I can also hide it perfectly.
The mayor invited me to go to the capital with him on the next shopping trip. Of course, it’s to buy an Appraisal at the capital.
My village is fairly big, but there’s no one who can make an Appraisal, which only high level magicians can make. I nodded my head at his suggestion. I already know my class thanks to the Jade Eye, but I shouldn’t. It would be unnatural to not want to know your class after getting it.
Well, it doesn’t matter. Princess Flare will arrive before I go shopping.
Part 3
After I returned to the village, I continued to take care of my apples as usual while training to get Drug Resistance. I’d like to go out and hunt monsters, but my physical attack and defense talents are in the 50s, so a low value.
The only attack magic I have right now is Corruption Heal, which has a high MP consumption. As expected, I can’t cast it with my current MP. I can’t fight monsters in this situation.
But there’s no need to rush. I can make up for it later with Looting Heal.
“Keyaru-kun, what’s that pattern on your right hand?”
As I was going to return home after finishing work, Anna-san called out to me.
“I don’t know, it showed up all the sudden.”
“Why don’t you have someone who knows about curses take a look?”
I give Anna-san a wry smile. The existence of Heroes is well known, but not the Hero Crest.
“I’ll take a look at it if it starts hurting. It’s getting noisy over there.”
The entrance of the village was getting noisy. Maybe the princess has arrived.
Let’s move forward with history.
Part 4
I immediately noticed the cause of commotion as I reached the center of the village: an unfamiliar carriage was parked there.
It was luxurious and full of extravagant designs. Even the horses pulling it were no ordinary horses, but the mystical beasts known as unicorns. It’s something a person who is just wealthy can’t afford.
The carriage was guarded by knights in mythril armor. The royal crest on their armor and carriage speaks volumes for who they are.
The carriage door opens and a girl in her mid-teens shows up. The villagers all watch her with a dumbfounded look as they watch her in awe. Her beauty, graceful appearance, her smile like a saint.
The princess with an overwhelming charisma who is also a Hero. Her name is…
“Hello everyone. I’m the first princess of Jioral Kingdom, the Magic Hero Flare Arlgrande Jioral.”
She suddenly names herself a Hero.
Flare has already mastered the highest level of magic that humans can achieve, Rank 5, she’s also known as one of the strongest Magicians in the world, being able to use the unprecedented Rank 6. And I also know that, in a few years, she’ll reach Rank 7.
No human can beat her in magic.
“Today, I’ve come to pick up the new Hero born in this village.”
The cheers grow louder. The villages are curiously asking each other who is the Hero.
I focus on my eye, activating the Jade Eye. I want to check how strong Flare is.
Race: Human
Name: Flare
Class: Magician / Hero
Level: 25
Status:
MP: 155/155
Physical Attack: 40
Physical Defense: 25
Magical Attack: 70
Magical Defense: 55
Speed: 50
Abilities:
Attack Magic level 3
Martial Arts level 2
Skills:
MP Recovery Rate Increase level 2: Magician skill. MP recovers 10% faster.
Attack Magic Power Increase level 2: Magician skill. Adds a positive correction to attack magic.
Transcendental Magician level 2: Magician and Hero composite skill. All attributes of magic can be used. High level magic can be used.
EXP increase: Hero exclusive skill. Doubles the values of EXP for you and your party.
Level Limit Breakthrough (self): Hero exclusive skill. No level limit.
Looking at it now, it’s quite a terrifying status. Magic attack is particularly good.
In terms of skills, what catches the eye is the composite skill. Being able to use all magic attributes, when normally only 2 can be used, and she can also use high level magic.
It really is a skill worthy of a Hero. The only part she lacks in is that she can’t increase other’s level. Now, I should check the talent values as well.
Level Limit: ∞
Talent Values:
MP: 150
Physical Attack: 70
Physical Defense: 40
Magical Attack: 140
Magical Defense: 100
Speed: 80
Total Talent Value: 580
Not only is there the Hero’s infinite level limit, there’s also a total talent value of 580.
A normal human’s talent values is about 60 for each status, so a total of 300 is considered good. A 140 in magical attack probably puts her as the peak of humankind.
I’ve seen what I wanted to see, so I closed my Jade Eye. Right after that, Flare’s eyes met mine.
“You are the one I’m looking for, right? Please, come here.”
After Flare said that, the villagers between me and her opened the way. I walked up to her.
“I’m the Hero?!”
Act surprised. It would be strange otherwise.
“So you hadn’t noticed it yet. You were chosen as a Hero.”
She got closer to me and held my hand.
“This mark is the proof of a Hero. I have come to pick you up, let us free this world from the Demon Lord’s hands together.”
The villagers got excited and erupted into applause. There are many benefits when a Hero is born in a certain village, such as receiving assistance from the kingdom.
“I can’t believe I’m a Hero.”
“It’s no wonder you think like that, but it’s the truth. There are many things you have to learn as a Hero, so let’s head to the royal capital as soon as possible.”
I was about to throw up. What she’ll want me to learn as a Hero is how to obediently cast Heal like a machine.
“Even if you suddenly say that, my heart isn’t ready.”
“Fufu, don’t worry, I’m with you. I’ll teach you a lot as your senior Hero.”
Flare smiles and holds my hand tightly. She smells good and has a soft touch. Any man would fall for her like this. But I know the true nature of this woman and can only feel disgusted.
“Okay. Princess, please take me to the capital.”
“Yes, of course.”
The villagers are blessing me with their words, none of them are trying to stop me. No one could imagine what I was going to go through. It can’t be helped, but it is frustrating.
Part 5
We’re heading to the royal capital in the carriage.
“By the way, I didn’t even ask your name. I am Flare Arlgrande Jioral.”
“I’m Keyaru, nice to meet you.”
“That’s a lovely name. Could you tell me what your class is?”
As usual, Flare’s smile can charm anyone. Her voice can also capture any heart, and she’s talking to me. The fact that this is all a calculated maneuver is quite scary.
“I don’t know my class yet. I just became an adult and haven’t used an Appraisal yet.”
“Is that so? If you don’t mind, we can use an Appraisal here.”
Flare calls out to her attendant, who gives her an Appraisal. She teaches me how to use it.
The result is the same as what the Jade Eye showed me. Except the level cap and talent values can’t be seen.
“My class is Healer.”
The moment I said that, Flare’s face twitched slightly. Disdain is mixed in her glare, but it quickly disappears. Even though she had such high hopes, she must have been really disappointed and dismissed me as useless.
“Keyaru-san, may I see the Appraisal?”
“Here you go.”
While keeping her smile, she looked through my status. She’s probably doing all kinds of calculations in her head, that’s the kind of woman she is.
The conclusion she reached in the previous world was that, even if I couldn’t be counted as a fighting force, I could still join the party. That way, her experience would be doubled and I could heal them. After all, no matter how many you have, an elixir is quite valuable, so you want to save it as much as possible.
So, even if I myself am not a fighting force, I could still be used to recycle those who have retired due to injuries.
As a result of her calculations, it was decided that there is just a little bit of value in my existence. If not, I would have been killed so another Hero could be born. Only 10 Heroes can exist at once, so you have to kill one to get another.
Knowing that, I was able to see Flare’s true face, tucked behind that smile.
While we were just making some casual talk, the carriage arrived at the royal capital.
According to my memories, after receiving lessons for a few days, I’ll be asked to heal the Sword Saint. After healing her, I found out about the extreme pain from using Heal and refused to use it again. But the royal family didn’t forgive me and drugged me.
The royal family only thinks of using me as a tool, that’s why they can do these cruel things.
But the new me isn’t just a tool to be used. If they try to do it again, I’ll destroy them. Just like the princess that hides her true face with a smile, I also have a demon inside me. They just haven’t realized it yet.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 5 – The Healer Is Invited Into The Capital
Part 1
While being shaken in the carriage, we eventually reached the royal capital. As the name suggests, it’s the royal capital of Jioral Kingdom.
Jioral Kingdom is located at the southernmost territory that the humans control. Below it is demon territory.
In other words, for humans, the Jioral Kingdom is the shield that protects them from demon invasion. For that reason it receives support from other countries. Jioral Kingdom’s strength is its connections with other countries.
The support Jioral Kingdom gets consists of food and money, but also engineering technology and magical technology. There’s also many warriors with real combat experience against monsters. There’s no doubt that Jioral Kingdom is the strongest country in the world.
Nowadays, they’re using the strength from that support to perform more aggressive negotiations for more support.
Being on the frontlines of the battles between humans and demons, the capital’s walls were high and thick. Providing not only physical defense, but also magical defense. There are many knights surrounding the walls, making it quite formidable.
“It looks like a nice wall.”
“Fufu, you shouldn’t be amazed by the wall. It’s even better inside the city.”
We enter the city going through the metal gates.
“Please look. Isn’t the townscape beautiful?”
As soon as we entered the city, Flare, the Magic Hero and princess, let out an innocent and high pitched voice. We were making our way through a well maintained highway in Jioral’s royal capital.
Just like she said, it’s a beautiful town. Considering the circulation of money and goods, the main road is straight and quite wide. The buildings are made of bricks to prevent fires from spreading easily, and they have an elegant design.
There’s nothing useless in this city, everything in here is clean and orderly. There are more people walking about like anywhere else. You can hear laughter everywhere, you can feel the energy overflowing.
“Yeah, it really is beautiful.”
I don’t use honorifics with princess Flare. She herself requested so. She said we are equal as Heroes. Even though Flare is a princess, she’s trying to act in a way that’s easy to get along with, matching me in conversation.
“Yes, this city is my pride. To protect this city and everyone’s smiles, that’s why we fight.”
“Flare is amazing.”
“Ah, sorry for talking so much. But I really think it would be wonderful if we could use our power to protect everyone.”
I smile back at Flare. Ah, that’s no good, my mask is slipping off.
Everything Flare says is calculated. Her innocent behavior, clumsy moments, her beautiful smile and her desire to protect the royal capital. Every single one of those is a performance to tie me to this country.
Magic Hero Flare is that kind of woman. Knowing this, I’ve been enduring this nauseating feeling.
In the first place, the royal capital’s existence itself is dark.
The land which this capital was built on was stolen from demi-humans. The Jioral Kingdom set its eyes on a rich open land and burned all the demi-human villages that were occupying it. The ones that fought back were either massacred or made into slaves to build the new city.
That’s how they were able to make such a well optimized city. After all, there’s no reason to preserve the demi-human villages.
Beautiful streets, beautiful buildings and smiling people. In the shadows of it all you see the remnants of the land’s original owners, now enslaved and tortured.
The kingdom doesn’t allow for human slavery, but demi-humans are fine. As far as the kingdom cares, the demi-humans are no different than beasts. Also, the demi-humans also have something called a true name, which can be used to make them absolutely obey any order. It’s convenient that the demi-humans don’t have access to human rights.
This is truly…
“This city is beautiful just like Flare.”
I said what was on my mind. A beautiful exterior and a rotting interior. Exactly like her.
“I’m happy. I’m proud of this town, so this touches my heart more than any other compliment.”
Without noticing my sarcasm, Flare makes a perfectly calculated smile.
Flare turned her gaze outside the window again. I’ll use this chance to use my Jade Eye. I’ll confirm the strength I’ll need to escape.
These guys are the princess’ guards, so they must be top-notch. In that case, if I can beat them, I should be able to escape no problem. There are six guards, all around the same level of strength, this is one of them:
Race: Human
Name: Margurt
Class: Knight
Level: 31
Status:
MP: 57/57
Physical Attack: 63
Physical Defense: 63
Magical Attack: 31
Magical Defense: 44
Speed: 57
Abilities:
Fencing level 3
Martial Arts level 2
Skills:
Fencing Correction level 3: Knight skill. Adds a positive correction to attacks that use a sword.
Horseback Correction level 2: Knight skill. Adds a positive correction to attacks while riding a horse.
High physical attack and defense, as you’d expect from a Knight class. His level is also high. Normal humans usually cap at around 20 to 30, and he’s past that upper limit. As expected of a royal guard.
There are exceptions, but the class you awaken to is closely related to the environment you grew up in. This guy probably comes from a family that has served as knights for generations.
I focus my Jade Eye to see even more information.
Level Limit: 32
Talent Values:
MP: 40
Physical Attack: 90
Physical Defense: 90
Magical Attack: 40
Magical Defense: 60
Speed: 80
Total Talent Value: 400
He’s almost reached his level limit, but his talents aren’t bad. A good distribution with a total of 400. Now, if I were to get in a fight with this guy, I’d be beaten helplessly. I stop using my Jade Eye.
So, if I want to escape, I’ll have to overwhelm those stats. It feels like it’ll be a lot of trouble.
Since my talents are distributed based on the Healer class, I’ll have to change them with Transformation Heal. But assuming these guys are an elite unit, I should be able to escape with some work.
“Keyaru-san, what’s wrong?”
Flare moves her gaze from the window and asks me.
“When I think about entering the royal castle now, I’m getting nervous.”
“That’s not unreasonable, but don’t worry. We all know Keyaru-san wasn’t in a position to learn proper etiquette, and you were forced to come here, so most things will be excused.”
Really, this woman is flawless. Like this, the carriage crossed the city and entered the royal castle.
Part 2
After I arrived at the royal castle, I was separated from Flare. I was accompanied by 5 maids, who made me bathe, put me in elegant clothes and taught me as much manners as they could.
It seems I’ll have an audience with the king in a few hours, and I’ll have to do a lot of tedious things.
I was surprised by how strong the maids here are. They are comparable to the knights from before. They must have been sent here to observe me.
Without being able to really do anything, the time to have an audience with the king came.
At that time, I was too excited to pay attention to it. The feeling of superiority from being chosen as a Hero, charmed by Flare’s beauty, admiration from my first meeting with the king and his expectations of me. All those things captivated my heart.
But now I’m calm. I wonder how the king will be reflected in my eyes? I’m looking forward to it.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 6 – The Healer Climbs The Stairs To Adulthood
Part 1
To have an audience with the king, I had my body cleaned, changed into the clothes that were prepared for me, and was taught the bare minimum of etiquette.
Currently, I’d been summoned to the place right before the audience room, which was just as the name suggested.
When the maids and I were heading towards the door leading to the audience room, we met up with Flare and her attendant.
Flare changed from her magician appearance into an elegant dress.
“Keyaru-san, I’m surprised at how different you look. These clothes look great on you.”
“Thank you, Flare is also beautiful.”
“You flatter me. But I’m still happy about it.”
We exchange empty words with each other. It’s called social etiquette.
Then, the doors to the throne room open and we head inside.
Part 2
“The Heroes have arrived!”
As soon as we walk in, an exaggerated voice echoes through the room. The room is sized like it’s meant to be a joke. I can see that there’s an extravagant throne in the back.
There’s an elderly man sitting on the throne, and to his left and right were the nobles who are this country’s leaders.
Why go through all this effort to meet a single villager? It’s quite obvious when I think about it, it’s because I’m a Hero.
A Hero is just that special. A normal human’s level limit is around 20 or 30, but Heroes can get infinitely stronger. There’s also the ability that doubles the experience for the entire party. To top it off, male Heroes can increase others’ level cap. The Hero extra class also advanced the original class to much higher levels. A single Hero is worth a thousand ordinary soldiers.
The maids urge me to move towards the king. Using the etiquette I’d learned, I kneel down and bow my head. Just before I faced the ground, I used my Jade Eye to look at the king. I’ll check his status and talents at the same time.
Race: Human (?)
Name: Proum
Class: Magic Knight
Level: 41☆
Level Limit: 41
Status:
MP: 153/153
Physical Attack: 81
Physical Defense: 67
Magical Attack: 81
Magical Defense: 75
Speed: 55
Talent Values:
MP: 90
Physical Attack: 93
Physical Defense: 75
Magical Attack: 92
Magical Defense: 84
Speed: 60
Total Talent Value: 494
Abilities:
Fencing level 3
Attack Magic (Fire, Lightning) level 2
Skills:
MP Recovery Rate level 2: Magic Knight skill. MP recovers 10% faster.
Attack Magic Power Increase level 2: Magic Knight skill. Adds a positive correction to attack magic.
Fencing Correction level 3: Knight skill. Adds a positive correction to attacks that use a sword.
I close my Jade Eye.
I’m surprised. He’s too strong. He’s not even a Hero and his total talent is almost 500. On top of that, everything except speed is above average and he has the Magic Knight class, which can master both sword and magic. And his level limit is over 40, which is already impossible for a normal person. A bonafide monster.
By the way, the star next to the level means you have reached the level cap. It also shows up on the Appraisal, that’s how someone finds their limit normally.
Come to think of it, I remember hearing that the royal family takes in the blood of Heroes in order to create a strong lineage. In that case, I can understand this strength.
But what worries me is that question mark after human. It’s the first time I’ve seen anything like that. There’s no doubt he’s done something that has strayed him from humanity.
“You did well coming here, new Hero. Raise your head.”
“Yes, your majesty!”
I raise my head as told, and as I do so I think about my escape plan. I should escape when the king is away. His individual power is dangerous, but also, if the king is out, the elite guards will also be out, making it the perfect time for an escape.
“Fumu, a good expression. Flare told me that your class is Healer. Is there no mistake about that?”
“Yes, it’s as she said.”
For just a moment, I see the king’s disappointed face. Healing can be done with other things, so the king must have wanted a combat-oriented Hero with more firepower. But he quickly puts up his mask again.
“Having a Hero with the power of healing is what our country needed the most, so I’m quite pleased with your awakening. I grant you the title of Healing Hero.”
“I’m grateful for that title, and I shall call myself the Healing Hero from now on.”
You needed me, huh? How can you say such a shameless thing right in front of me? Suppressing my inner anger, I let out words of gratitude.
“Healing Hero, in our long fight with the demons, many soldiers have been injured to the point they can’t fight anymore. There are many among them who can’t even be cured with the legendary medicine, the miraculous elixir. However, a Hero who specializes in healing might be able to heal them.”
“I haven’t used my powers yet, so I can’t be sure that they will work.”
“Since you’re a Hero, you will surely be able to heal them. In a week, the country’s strongest swordswoman, the Sword Saint, will visit the royal castle. If it’s just about swordsmanship, she’s even superior to the famous Sword Hero.”
Sword Saint, that’s a nostalgic name. I want to copy her skills at all costs. Unlike the Sword Hero, who relies on pure strength, the Sword Saint’s movements are beautiful and efficient.
“The Sword Saint fought a high-level demon the other day and lost her right arm. I want you to heal her if possible. Until then, study a lot about about Heroes, we’ll prepare the best teachers.”
While I ignored the king’s words, I thought that history really was completely repeating itself. I’ll use Heal for the first time on the Sword Saint. It really was the worst first patient to have.
Heal allows the caster to go through the entire history of their target. All their experiences and pain. All to know the optimal state to restore them.
The experience of being the Sword Saint, who has run through thousands of battlefields, was too much for me, a mere villager, to handle. Even though I healed the Sword Saint, it became a trauma and I couldn’t use Heal again. Until I was drugged.
“Understood, I will dedicate my power to this country.”
“Fumu, good attitude. You may leave.”
Like that, the audience ended just like it did last time.
Part 3
After the audience ended, I was given a room to rest. I was also given a dedicated teacher so I could study hard. I was taught various things that are needed on an adventure, general education and etiquette. A lot of things were hammered into my head. At this point, I realize that they are still trying to treat me like a proper Hero.
After studying came some light sword practice. Even though Healers can’t really use swords, it’s still good to know for self protection. After that was dinner and a bath. Night had come in the blink of an eye.
I lie down on the bed that was prepared for me in the room I was given. It was a high quality bed that I could never dream of in my life as a villager. My fatigue had really built up, so I was tired.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, the door made a sound of opening and I looked in the direction of the door. A young woman had entered my room, she was the first maid I was introduced to. A watcher with power equal to the knights.
“Hero-sama, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. Please hold me.”
She wore lascivious clothing that stuck to her skin. The woman pushed me down and started undressing me.
“S-stop, please stop.”
“Even if you say that, this part of you is energetic isn’t it?”
“Really, stop. Why are you doing this?”
“I said it. I fell in love. You don’t have to worry, I will teach you everything.”
“Please stop, onee-chan.”
I resist desperately, but I can’t do anything with my level being just 1. I only recently became an adult and got my class, and now I’m being raped.
“I’m scared, I’m scared.”
Regardless of my mental age, I try to act like an innocent 14 years old boy who has just come of age. It seems I pulled some of her heartstrings and she had fun assaulting me.
The woman leaves and I laugh to myself. So far, it has been the same as my past life.
“I really enjoyed it the first time.”
I was a healthy young boy who was approached by an erotic older woman. I was also a virgin. There’s no way I didn’t like it.
But this time I couldn’t be purely happy, because I know her true objectives.
There were two. The first is to win me over. Make me easy to manipulate by letting me indulge in pleasure.
The other is increasing her level cap. Heroes have an infinite level limit, but male Heroes can also increase others’ level caps by 1 by pouring the source of life directly into them.
But it doesn’t matter how many times you do it in a day, it’ll only increase by 1. Unless the semen is thick, you won’t increase your cap.
Simply put, if you have sex with a Hero you get stronger. If I think about it, maybe the reason why these maids are so strong is because they’re actually female adventurers trying to get stronger. A level difference makes a big difference depending on the talent values.
“So this is going to happen every night.”
The maids are going to come every night to increase their level cap. It’s not like I can resist anyway, so let’s have fun. It’s a win-win.
Part 4
A week has passed since I came to the royal castle. I’ve learned a lot of things and have gotten used to the nightly visits. It’s better to do it with a girl than a guy at least.
While I was drugged, I was mercilessly forced to do it with men. Some guys are fine with everything as long as their level increases, so they happily suck. That’s also another reason for my revenge, I won’t forgive this humiliation.
And then, the fateful day finally came. The day I was judged as a worthless tool by princess Flare and became livestock.
I will be summoned to a certain room and I’ll meet the Sword Saint, Kureha Clyret. The girl with the most beautiful swordsmanship in the world.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 7 – The Healer Burns With The Flames Of Revenge
Part 1
Sword Saint Kureha Clyret.
There’s no one in the kingdom who doesn’t know that name.
The Clyret family is the strongest swordsmen family. They are a great noble family that is feared as Jioral’s sword.
They are entirely focused on creating the strongest swordsmen. They continuously take in strong blood in order to produce more powerful children specializing in swordsmanship. That’s basically insanity. Rumor has it that, if there’s no strong blood to take from the outside, they will perform inbreeding to preserve their bloodline.
For hundreds of years, this family has focused only on the sword. As a result, an extra class emerged.
Its name is… Sword Saint.
Studies have shown that one’s class is related to their blood as well as their upbringing. The only family in the world that has ever awakened the Sword Saint extra class is the Clyret.
That’s not all. In addition to their class and status, the Clyrets’ sword is the strongest in terms of pure swordsmanship. It’s to the point it can be considered art. But it’s not just a spectacle, it’s been honed by blood and iron in countless battles.
And even in all that, Kureha Clyret is considered the greatest genius of all time.
“I want the Clyret sword no matter what.”
In the previous world, I was too inexperienced with Heal to learn Kureha’s abilities. I was also scared and wasn’t used to the pain. Countless other experiences swept away the memories of the strongest sword, so I wasn’t able to learn it. I won’t make that mistake again. I will engrave the Clyret experience in me.
I can’t get the extra class of Sword Saint, but I can get the Sword Saint’s skills. With just that, I’ll probably be able to win any sword fight, so long as it’s not against Kureha herself.
Part 2
As usual, I was in my room studying when the maid came to call me.
“Healing Hero, the Sword Saint has arrived to see you. We’ll be waiting in the Lainala room. Please show her your power as the Healing Hero.”
I chuckle. The first time I did this, I was full of motivation.
I fell in love with Flare and indulged in my carnal desires with the maids. I really felt myself being a Hero. I wanted to show them my cool side.
I’m still full of motivation, but this time it’s for the Sword Saint’s skills.
I have also increased my level to the point I can just barely use Imitation Heal.

Level Limit Breakthrough (self): Hero exclusive skill. No level limit.
Level Limit Breakthrough (others): Hero exclusive skill. By giving body fluids with magic power, there’s a chance the other party’s level cap will be increased by 1.
I raised my level to 5.
The secret to my getting stronger without fighting monsters lies in my fourth ability with Heal, Looting.
When I use Heal, a magical path opens between the target and me. It’s a two-way path, so I can use it to steal experience or magic power from the target. But I can’t take experience that has become part of the body and has been used to level up, I can only take what’s floating about without being used.
At night, while the maids are assaulting me, they’re defenseless. So I used that chance to use Looting Heal on them, so I was able to barely get to the point of being able to use Imitation Heal.
Because of Looting Heal, I can let myself be drugged without worry. Even while living like livestock and forced to continuously use Heal, I’ll keep stealing experience and raising my level. Once I get all the skills I want and reach a satisfactory level, I’ll escape.
At that time, I’ll fulfill the promise I made in my previous life. I’ll destroy Flare and make her my pet.
Part 3
I visited the Lainala room to meet the Sword Saint, Kureha Clyret.
Lainala is a bluish white flower that is the national symbol of this country. All the country’s citizens love this flower.
The Lainala room is an indoor garden. It’s the most beautiful place in the castle, filled with colorful flowers.
I heard that Flare made it as a hobby. She has a horrible personality, but good taste. Well, it’s also a big waste of money, so maybe it’s still bad.
While I was thinking about that, the visitor seemed to have noticed me.
“Hello. Are you perhaps the Healing Hero?”
A girl wearing a white knight’s uniform, which is easy to move in, calls to me.
No openings, a sword that can easily pierce anyone and elegant behavior. Anyone would know who she is after seeing her once.
“I am Keyaru, the Healing Hero. I was ordered by the king to heal you. I have heard rumors. It’s an honor to meet you, Sword Saint Kureha Clyret.”
There’s no doubt she’s the strongest Sword Saint. Long silver hair, expressionless but beautiful face. No one would believe that such a pretty girl is the Sword Saint. At least, until they saw her in person.
“It seems you know who I am, but I’ll properly introduce myself. I am Kureha Clyret, a former Sword Saint.”
She said former.
The reason is simple. Her right arm is no longer there. Her sleeve is simply hanging.
She lost her arm fighting a high level demon, an opponent even a Hero might struggle against.
“Shall we get started right away?”
“Yes, please. Even the elixir can’t heal this, so I can only depend on your power.”
Kureha bit her lower lip. The Clyret family only cares about the sword, If she can’t hold a sword then her existence has no value.
No, there is one, making a child. She would be forced to live only to birth more children. The title of the strongest Sword Saint would become a curse to haunt her to the rest of her days.
“Kureha, could you turn your back to me? Heal works better like that.”
Kureha nods and turns her back to me. It’s a complete lie, I’m only saying this so I can use my Jade Eye. If I was facing her, it would be impossible to hide the eye.
Now, let’s see the strength of the strongest Sword Saint.
Race: Human
Name: Kureha

MP: 169/169

Divine Sword level 5
All-Seeing level 5
Skills:
Divine Sword Ability Increase level 3: Sword Saint exclusive skill. Increases the power and speed of the Divine Sword.
Presence Detection level 3: Sword Saint exclusive skill. Increases the range and speed of All-Seeing’s perception.
Strong!
What the hell, this is totally broken.
The talent values are on the level of a Hero. And what’s with this level cap? I didn’t even think a normal human could achieve level 50. And this talent distribution is so artistic. Only what’s needed for a Sword Saint is high, and what’s unneeded is low.
Not just that, Divine Sword is the highest level of sword abilities.
She also has abilities that give her an overwhelming advantage in close combat, and that’s further improved by her skills.
A monster beyond doubt. There’s no way I can beat the Sword Saint one-on-one. Even a Hero would have to overwhelm her in levels and people in order to challenge her.
“Is this fine?”
“Yes. I’ll begin the healing.”
I can’t wait to get my hands on Divine Sword and All-Seeing. I can’t copy the skills, but just those two are already plenty.
“Please wait a minute!”
Right as the treatment was about to begin, the Magic Hero Flare walked in. An old man was coming along with her.
“Flare? What’s going on?”
“I also want to see Keyaru-san actually use Heal.”
Now I remember, yeah, it’s the same as last time. The old man with Flare is the chief of magic research.
Depending on the Hero, they can elevate their class’ skills to a level beyond the norm. That guy is here to check if I’m like that.
“Oh, please don’t mind me.”
“Me neither.”
I have no reason to refuse, and I can’t refuse first of all. So let’s just get started.
For all intents and purposes, this is my first Heal. I know a terrible pain will assault me, but I have yet to experience it in this world.
It’s a 50-50 if I’ll be able to endure it. After repeating it a few times, I’ll get used to it and get the Pain Resistance skill, making my brain produce endorphins at will. But right now I have none of that, so I’ll just have to power through it.
I’ve been prepared from the beginning, so let’s do it.
“Here I go. Heal!”
It was at that moment.
All the experiences of Sword Saint Kureha Clyret attacked me.
Training since childhood that I can only think of as abuse.
Days colored in blood, thousands of battlefields.
Her body getting worn out every day. Every day was dyed with her blood as well as the blood of her enemies.
Kureha is a teenager, and her level is over 40. That’s not normal. Every day is hell. Kill, kill, keep killing…
It hurts, it’s painful, it’s scary, help me.
“Ah, ah, ah.”
My voice leaks out, my vision is blurred.
In just an instant, I experienced the full hell that Kureha Clyret went through her whole life. Tears start spilling out and I resist the urge to cut off my own neck. I can activate Heal at will, but I can’t deactivate it once it starts.
The existence that is me is literally breaking, but I fulfilled my job. Kureha’s right arm is restored. It’s restored to its prime, I perfectly recreated every muscle, habit and reflexes of that arm.
Once I finished, I fell down with tears spilling out of my eyes and drool spilling out of my mouth. My whole body was convulsing.
“It’s healed. My arm, it’s really back! It’s amazing, a miracle. With this, I can fight again.”
Kureha Clyret’s voice rang out. I watched her with my blurry vision.
I was prepared for pain, but not this much.
Well, I fainted the first time, so this is progress. After all, I’m still conscious. Thanks to that, I was able to use Imitation Heal. The Divine Sword and All-Seeing are now mine.
“Thank you, Keyaru. … What happened?!”
Kureha finally noticed my condition, after getting out of her tunnel vision due to joy. She came up to me and held me. She has a surprisingly decent personality.
I pretend to faint in order to catch Flare. With my eyes closed, I listen carefully. Kureha was kicked out of the room, saying she would be an obstacle to the treatment. On her way out, she expressed her thanks.
“Tell Keyaru when he wakes up. Thanks for letting me hold the sword again. I will never forget this. I’ll make sure to repay him to my full abilities.”
She really is a good girl. Now, what about this time’s Flare? While I was thinking that, Flare began speaking.
“Not even able to use Heal, his only redeeming quality. He really might be useless. Even though he brought the Sword Saint back, it might be pointless.”
Unaware that I was conscious, Flare began showing her true colors. But, unlike her, the old man researcher was rather happy.
“Princess Flare, this is amazing. What this boy used wasn’t just a simple Heal.”
“It’s just Heal, isn’t it? What’s the difference?”
“The fundamentals are different, it’s on a different dimension! The original Heal spell only activates the body’s own self-healing functions. It can only heal wounds that the human body can heal on its own. A gouged eye won’t come back, and an arm that has been cut off won’t regrow. But his Heal is different! Deconstruction and reconstruction, creating something from nothing, or maybe rewinding time. In any case, it’s in the divine realm! It’s exciting. There must also be a secret in his pain. I’ve never seen a Healer react like that before! I want to research it, and if I can uncover its secrets I, I-!”
This guy is bad. I’m getting terrified.
“Is that so? Then maybe he does have some uses. Drugs, brainwashing, do whatever you need to control him. He’ll probably use pain as an excuse to not use Heal again. Make him heal at least 20 warriors, I don’t care if you end up breaking him after that. You’ll probably have found out the truth behind his magic by then.”
“As you wish. I’ll kindly break him so that I can collect lots of data. If the problem is pain and fear, it’ll be fine to use hypnosis and drug him so he feels pleasure.”
Just like that, my destiny was decided by these two. I see, so Flare had already given up on me by here huh. I understand.
“I’ll leave the rest to you. Seriously, to think this trash is a Hero like me, it makes me disgusted. He’s even giving us work by having to figure out how his powers work.”
Flare left. I was struggling to hold back my laughter. I’m really truly happy. No matter what, that woman is still trash!
Aah, thank you, thank you so much. For still being the same piece of shit you were the first time. Now I can take my revenge without any hesitation. This time, there won’t be any mercy.
When I finish copying the skills from everyone, that will be your end.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 8 – The Healer Becomes A Dog
Part 1
When I opened my eyes, I noticed I was in a white room. When I looked around, the old man from before appeared in my vision.
“Woah!”
A surprised voice ended up coming out.
“What?!”
The old man, surprised by me, ended up also letting out a strange voice. Wait, let me calm down and analyze the situation first.
Now I remember. While I was pretending to be unconscious, I ended up actually blacking out.
In just an instant, I experienced the whole hell that Kureha Clyret has lived through until now. The sacrifices necessary to become the strongest at such a young age were more than I could handle.
And I recognize this room. This is a medical treatment room. And the man in front of me is the chief of magic research in the kingdom.
He was probably treating me as a doctor, as well as checking to see if there was anything wrong with my magic circuits.
“Are you finally awake, Healing Hero? Are you feeling sick anywhere?”
Now, how should I answer? To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with my body. Unlike the first time, I was able to handle it fairly well, since I had an idea of what to expect.
But, if I want my revenge, I can’t say that I’m fine.
I’m perfectly fine. I could just say “bring on the next person to heal” and change history and probably live a happy life.
But I don’t want that. To get my revenge, I have to retrace history a little further.
“Hii- don’t come! I hate it! I don’t want to be hurt anymore! It’s scary!”
I act out of control, just like the first time.
From what I remember, I was really traumatized by my first time using Heal. I felt like I had to protect myself at all costs. I started picking up random things and throwing them. Let’s start with the pillow.
“Calm down! No one will force you to use Heal, so let’s just talk.”
“Really?”
I act like I went back to being a child. It may seem strange, but it would happen to anyone if they had to experience the Sword Saint’s life in a single instant. It’s simply too extreme.
“It’s true. So let’s talk for a bit.”
Now, while the chief of magic research is trying to calm me down, I have to act like I’m actually calming down little by little. It’s hard, since I’m actually perfectly calm on the inside.
“First of all, can you tell me why you suddenly collapsed?”
“The moment I used Heal on the Sword Saint, all her thoughts and experiences flowed into me. All her training, wounds and battles, everything. When I realized it I had fallen over.”
The chief of magic research looked at me with suspicious but curious eyes.
“I see, so it’s not the usual Healer’s Heal, which simply speeds up the body’s natural recovery. Normally, it’s not necessary for a Healer to understand the target of their Heal, but it’s needed for the Healing Hero so he can do a perfect recreation. Interesting.”
I’m surprised. He made a fairly accurate guess. He really is an excellent magician.
While he was talking, I saw an opportunity and used my Jade Eye, but his level and talents are just that of the ordinary magician.
He must be really smart, and also the kind to get absorbed into his research. Letting his curiosity take over, he asked me a number of detailed questions. While I was answering him, a new visitor appeared.
“I heard that Keyaru-san woke up, so I’ve come to see you. I was worried when you suddenly fell over. I couldn’t stay calm.”
It’s impressive that her thoughts and words can differ so much. Her expression and gestures are perfect, I can almost believe she’s actually concerned about me.
“Flare, thank you for worrying about me.”
“I’m glad you are well. The Healing Hero’s power is tremendous, you were able to restore the Sword Saint’s arm, something even the elixir couldn’t do. Father will be pleased to know this.”
Flare gave me a sweet smile along with those words.
“It was nothing.”
“It was something alright.”
She leans forward and grabs my hands.
“The Sword Saint’s power is greater than that of a thousand soldiers. The Sword Saint will continue fighting and defeating demons. The reason why she can fight again is because you healed her, in other words, her achievements from now on will also be your achievements. As expected of the Healing Hero!”
She praises me to a level that even makes me feel sick. Thinking about her calculative words, I can guess what she’s trying to get at.
“No, the one who will be fighting is the Sword Saint Kureha.”
“You’re too humble…”
Flare shows me another smile. “Here it comes”, I say to myself as I await her next words.
“Actually… the Sword Saint is, unfortunately, not the only powerful fighter this country had who needed healing. Keyaru-san, could you please lend them your power? Those who you save will go on to save many others. I will call the Bow God immediately. Please use your healing power again.”
Yes, Flare was praising me just to say this. By appealing to my conscience as a human being, she was trying to block my escape route. Truly a Flare-like plan. But I won’t go along with her.
“Wait!”
I screamed.
“I don’t want to use Heal anymore. I’m scared, it hurts. If I keep using it, I’ll either break or I’ll stop being myself!”
With a pathetic voice, I let out a weak cry to Flare. She showed a surprised face.
“So your power has such a side-effect… but with it, the more people you heal and the harder they work, the more lives will be saved. Could you please try a bit harder?”
She said with the voice of a saint, what a gentle tone.
“No, Flare can only say that because you don’t know! I can’t do it! I’ll never use Heal again!”
I say with a loud voice. Flare keeps up her smile.
“I understand, I hadn’t realized it was that hard. It can’t be helped. You don’t have to use Heal anymore, so please just get some rest for now.”
After those words, we had a small chat and then she left. She said she would come to visit again later.
Part 2
The next day, after my lessons, the maids brought me refreshments. Snacks and a cup of tea to be more specific.
Flare didn’t say anything about Heal after that.
The first time, I really thought Flare was a kind person who cared about me. I decided that, even if I couldn’t do it then, I would eventually try to live up to her expectations. I was really stupid back then.
“It takes a lot of courage to drink this.”
I say to myself. I know what this tea is.
The reason why Flare hasn’t said anything about Heal is because she gave up on persuading me, but she hasn’t given up on her goals. She has simply chosen an easier method to get me to do what she wants.
This tea with sleeping drugs is the answer. I drink the tea with all my might.
Sudden drowsiness attacks me. This is where the hell begins.
Part 3
I wake up. My body is tied to a chair. I see stone walls, iron bars and candles providing light.
This place is the dungeon under the castle. The second most difficult place to escape from.
“What’s happening? Where am I?!”
I scream and shout. It’s a natural reaction.
I hear a metallic clink sound. In that direction, I see a man with a large build and the chief of magic research, who was wearing a robed hood that covers his entire face and body.
As soon as the large man walks into the prison, he punches me, who was restrained in a chair. I fall over, my cheek hurts like it’s burning.
“How dare you talk like that? Cheeky brat. Just shut up.”
Another punch. This situation is very simple.
Flare was having trouble persuading me, so she decided to lock me up in this dungeon and drug me. She didn’t have the grace to try a second time.
My pure thought of “even if I can’t help now, I’ll help someday” was disregarded as if it was worthless.
“It hurts, don’t hit me. What did I do?”
“What did you do? The problem is that you’re so worthless you can’t do anything!”
One more hit. Despite looking like this, this man is the captain of Flare’s royal guard. And he’s intoxicated with Flare, to the point that he can’t forgive me for giving trouble to his beautiful princess.
I’m getting beaten over and over, but I’m counting each blow. I don’t remember how many there were from the first time, so I’ll make sure to count this time. I’m determined to return it all back to him.
Part 4
The lynching ends. The chair was knocked over and my mouth is filled with the taste of blood.
The man pulls my bangs and forces me to look up at him.
“With this, maybe you felt one hundredth of the pain you gave princess Flare.”
“28.”
“Huh? What are you saying?”
“28 hits. I’ll never forget it.”
I’m a little vengeful. I’ll make sure to repay him for those hits.
“You’re unpleasant. Oi, old man, do your magic or whatever. Get on with it.”
“Really, you’re so violent. What would you do if he broke? He’s a valuable research material.”
“As if I care.”
“Seriously, even though we can only break his mind, what do we do if you damaged his brain?”
I feel a little bit of relief. Flare doesn’t care as long as I heal her warriors and she’s probably thinking of discarding me after, but this old man is different. The chief of magic research cares about me as his material, so he can let my mind be broken, but nothing else. It’s thanks to his minimal consideration that I only got my mind broken the first time.
Thanks to him, I’ll be able to live through that same hell again.
The chief of magic research begins wavering some kind of magic tool before my eyes. It’s a tool that makes you fall into hypnosis.
If I wanted to, I could resist, but for now I’ll surrender myself to it. He then puts some liquid in my mouth. It’s the drug. My consciousness is fading away, or rather, the drug is filling it up.
Now, I have to say goodbye to my reasoning for a while. The drug is too powerful for me to resist currently. I will completely lose my ability to think and reason. All that will fill my mind is the drug.
But I will wake up eventually.
I’ve accumulated a lot of proficiency for the Drug Resistance skill, and even my soul will try to resist the drug.
Eventually, I’ll be able to get enough proficiency to get the Drug Resistance. Once that happens, I’ll recover my reasoning.
While I was thinking this, my consciousness was slowly engulfed in darkness.
~One month after Keyaru was put in the dungeon
“Dugs! Dugs! Give me drugsssss!!”
A boy was clinging to the bars and screaming. He did this not once or twice, but for a few hours since morning.
Those were his withdrawal symptoms. He was a severe drug addict.
His fingernails were peeling off, and some spots on his head were bald from pulling his own hair.
But his body remained clean. Every now and then, the guards would knock him out and clean him. At night, he’s made to give his sperm to the knights so that their level rises. That’s the only reason why they take care of him, they don’t want any nasty disease to spread.
“He’s truly like a stray dog. Drugs drugs, does he have no pride?”
A girl comes to the cell where the boy is confined.
Light pink hair and a body full of feminine charm. But, the face that usually has a compassionate expression is now full of disdain.
It was Flare, the Magic Hero and also the princess of this kingdom.
“That’s how someone who takes this drug ends up. I doubt he even remembers his own name anymore.”
The old man who was accompanying her, the chief of magic research, corrects Flare.
“Father really is terrible for telling me to take care of this… thing. It’s disgusting.”
“Don’t say those things now.”
Finally, Flare unlocks the cage and opens the door. At that moment, the boy inside the cage leaps at Flare, but the chain connected to the collar on his neck stretches to the limit, strangling him. He falls to the ground with agony on his face.
After he fell, Flare kicked him on the head as hard as she could.
“Disgusting! Repulsive!”
Even while saying that, she approaches the boy.
“It’s time to go to work. Here’s the drug you love so much. If you want it, you know what to do.”
“Haa, haa, chinchin, chinchin.”
The boy imitates a dog, desperately begging for the drug. Flare kicked him in the ground, making him trash about in pain.
“Kyan, kyan, kuuuun, kuuun.”
Even though the boy is completely broken by the drugs, he knows he won’t get the drugs he wants if he stops pretending to be a dog here. While clutching his groin, he continues his act.
“You’re smart for a dog. Here’s your drug.”
Flare purposefully drops the viscous drug on the ground, making him lick it off. He continues to lick the dirty floor even after the drug is all gone. Even so, Flare doesn’t have any pity for him.
He can’t go out in public without easing his withdrawal a little. By giving him a small dose of the drug now, he can be made to follow orders and obey properly.
“Hey, dog, pay attention. It’s the same as the usual, don’t say a word and only use Heal when I tell you to. If you don’t obey, I won’t give you any drugs when you come back.”
“Kyan! Kyan!”
While still on the ground, he raised his face happily. Flare stepped on his face.
“You really are disgusting!”
But the boy didn’t care, he only cared about the drugs. He was happy because he was going to get more drugs soon, that’s why he was still smiling. That was all he could think of.
Flare frees him from his iron chained collar. He should properly listen for a few tens of minutes, but Flare was a little scared. There was always the chance he’d go crazy at any moment.
Quickly make him use Heal and put him back. That was Flare’s plan.
“Follow me.”
As soon as she turned her back to him, Flare felt a terrifying chill. An extremely dense killing intent and the premonition of her death.
She turned around, but there he was. A piece of trash, no better than a dog. He was following her silently as instructed.
Flare convinced herself it was all on her mind and kept walking.
Part 5
Anger wells up inside me.
Yes, it’s anger. My head was foggy, but, little by little, my mind that could only think of drugs clears up and my thoughts come back.
“You really are disgusting!”
A girl looks at me like she’s looking at trash and then stomps on my face.
Who is this girl? My head, which had lost the ability to think, and my soul are raising a voice of resentment towards the girl. Even if my mind was dead, my soul kept screaming.
This is the woman who took everything from me. The source of the hell I had to go through.
Unforgivable. I swore I wouldn’t forget it.
Even if I lose my memory, even if I lose my mind, I swore I wouldn’t forget the pain etched in my soul.
That’s why the pain overflowing from my soul awoke my mind. It’s coming back to me.
With a burning rage, I light a fire on my mind and resist the drug. That drug is like a chain. But, the bigger the chain, the more proficiency I gain by resisting it.
And finally, the time came. The proficiency I accumulated from the poisoned mushrooms and plants in the forest added to my resistance now finally gave me the Drug Resistance skill.
Aah, I understand.
My name is Keyaru.
I am me.
Suddenly, my head cleared up. Thanks to the Drug Resistance skill, I am me again! I see my enemy, Flare, with her back towards me.
I felt a crazy desire to kill. Flare’s shoulders twitched and she turned towards me.
Oh no, I have to suppress my killing intent. I managed to keep my composure. Flare looked at me suspiciously and then turned around again. She must have thought that that murderous intent I leaked out was her imagination.
The memories of the time when I’d lost myself came back to me.
Once again, it seems they did as they pleased with me.
But thanks to that, I gained pain resistance and increased the number of skills I can use. My level has also gone up, so I must have been using Looting Heal.
This is what you call human persistence. I could say about 80% of my revenge preparations are completed. All that remains is to make a detailed plan and put it into action.
Now, Flare, I’m going to humiliate you more than you humiliated me. You might think you have me on a leash for now, but I’m completely free.
My heart was burning, but my mind was cold. I have to think of a way to escape with a kidnapped Flare after I break her.
The day I settle the score is drawing near.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 9 – The Healer Quits Enduring
Part 1
Thanks to the Drug Resistance and my hatred for Flare, I was able to come back to my senses.
It was a dangerous bridge to cross, so much so that cold sweat ran down my back. But there were two reasons why I had to let this happen to me.
Even I wouldn’t be able to endure the pain without pain resistance, so I needed to depend on the drugs for a while. I needed the drugs so I could keep using Heal until I gained pain resistance.
The other reason is that I needed a motive for revenge. Even if the first Flare treated me badly, this time’s Flare hadn’t done anything against me yet. It wouldn’t be aesthetically pleasing to take revenge on her like that.
In reality, I could have met Flare’s expectations and built up a good relationship. If I showed the true power of Heal, I could have easily gained Flare and the king’s favor.
But I didn’t want that. It wouldn’t have cleared my resentment.
Besides, even if I kept healing the people Flare told me to, my actions would still be limited and I wouldn’t be truly free. It would just be a different kind of prison.
That’s why I traced history so far. Thanks to that, I gained pain resistance, built up my strength and gained a motive for revenge.
“You’re slow. Hurry up you stupid.”
Flare, who was walking in front of me, said so in an unpleasant voice.
I follow Flare out of the basement and arrive at the Lainala room. We’re moving out of the dungeon to heal someone Flare had selected. From her conversation with the old man, the head of magic research, I know that it’s the alchemist that will be healed this time.
I’m thankful. His abilities in alchemy will be really useful, so I’d definitely like to learn it.
“I want to finish quickly and go to the bath. This dog’s smell is already impregnated in me. I’ll have to throw away this dress.”
As usual, Flare has quite a venomous tongue when there’s no one around. So you don’t like my smell, huh? I’ll be sure to soak you in it later, all the way to your insides.
I thought that, but I kept quietly following her like I’d been ordered to.
Part 2
We arrived at the Lainala room, the same room where I healed Kureha.
It seems Flare really wants to show this place off, since we use this room quite frequently.
The alchemist was missing both arms. Considering the wounds were carbonized, it was probably an accident during an experiment rather than a wound from a fight with an enemy.
Flare and the alchemist were smiling at each other as I watched them quietly. She introduced me as a quiet person. Not a bad excuse.
Since they aren’t paying attention to me, I’ll check the alchemist’s status with my Jade Eye.

Skills:
Metal Tempering Magic Ability Improvement level 2: Alchemist skill. Reduction in MP cost and increase in accuracy.
Blacksmithing Ability Improvement level 1: increase concentration and accuracy when using the Blacksmithing ability.
This alchemist seems to be named Wachilda. Most of his talents are only slightly above average. His level limit isn’t really high. But what makes him an important person is his rare class of Alchemist, and the alchemy only those who have that class can use.
You could even say that alchemy magic is all-purpose magic.
Blacksmithing, compounding, it encompasses everything needed for alchemy.
Extracting active ingredients from materials, stirring, separating, heating, melting metals, pressuring, depressurizing, etc. Anything is possible depending on the user’s ideas. That’s why I definitely want it.
As long as I can’t increase my abilities with skills, I would never be able to win against an actual magician. That’s why I want this magic, whose power is dependent only on knowledge.
Since I’ve decided to use only 1 slot for magic, alchemy is a must.
Yes, there’s a limit to the skills I can copy with Imitation Heal.
I can accumulate knowledge as much as I want, but I can only copy 5 skills at once. That’s my body’s limit.
Maybe it’ll increase as I raise my level, but for now it’s only 5. But, so long as the experience and knowledge remain vivid in my mind, I can freely swap the skills. From my experience, the time I can keep skills on my mind without using them is at most 1 month after I use Imitation Heal.
Choosing just 5 is troubling. The Sword Saint’s skills of Divine Sword and All-Seeing are a must, so is Alchemy Magic. That only leaves 2 slots to be swapped depending on the situation.
While I was thinking, it seems that the conversation between Flare and the alchemist ended. She instructed me to use Heal.
Pretending to be a dog on a leash, I use Heal as I’m told.
Of course, behind the scenes, I gain skills with Imitation Heal and steal experience with Looting Heal. The alchemist’s skills are now ingrained into my body.
Not just that, the experience filled up and my level went up. Thanks to the pain resistance, the side effects of Heal are on a bearable level. I’ll be able to use Heal without worry from now on.
I’ll check my status later. Without knowing my actual strength, I won’t be able to make any plans.
After that, we parted ways with the alchemist and I was thrown back into the dungeon. As a reward, I was given a lot of drugs. They were even kind enough to throw it on my face and spit at me.
I’m starting to think Flare is abusing me not due to disgust, but because she actually likes it.
What a good hobby. I plan to give it all back to Flare, so really she’s just digging her own grave without knowing it. She’s done so much for me I’ll be troubled to keep her sane by the time I’m done.
Well, it doesn’t really matter. If Flare breaks, I’ll fix her with Heal. I won’t let her escape.
After Flare left, I used Heal to fix my drug dependency and start thinking of a plan with my now properly working head.
Even my sense of time is fuzzy. Eventually, something that looked like dinner was brought to me.
A piece of bread floating on soup. There’s no knife or fork, they really want me to eat with my bare hands. They’re really treating me like livestock.
But I’m thankful for the soup. I’m able to look at my own reflection in it and use my Jade Eye. The guards aren’t looking in my cell, so there’s no problem.

Even while I could barely think due to the drugs, I kept using Looting Heal and increasing my level. As a result, I’m now level 29. 29 is close to the cap a normal person usually gets.
About skills, it seems my healing magic leveled up as well. Other than the Sword Saint and Alchemist skills I fixed for myself, I also added Ground Shrinker and Serene, since they seem useful and I still remember them.
The skills’ levels are 1 level lower than those of Kureha or Wachilda, but that’s just how it is with Imitation Heal. It copies the skill, but lowers the level by 1.
Out of those other 2 skills, Ground Shrinker lets me use high-speed movement and Serene puts me into a state of deep concentration and it also accelerates my thoughts. They are both really useful.
As long as there are no extreme circumstances, I should probably keep those 5 skills. But, depending on the situation, Ground Shinker and Serene can be changed for something else.
“But, even if my skills are good, the problem of my status remains.”
When I escape, I’ll be acting alone. No matter how hard I try, I probably can’t escape unharmed. I need at least a minimum amount of defense. As it is, a single blow could be fatal.
There’s also the problem of my offensive power. The instant death attack of Corruption Heal isn’t very effective in terms of MP usage. Even if I can replenish my MP with Looting Heal, I should still save as much MP as possible. There’s no guarantee I’ll get to use Looting Heal.
In that case, the safest bet is to fight in close range. But the problem is that I have a magician based status. I’ll have to play around with it a bit.
“Transformation Heal.”
I optimize myself with Transformation Heal, making my talent values rise slightly. At most, the improvement is less than 10%, but it’s better than nothing. To improve myself further, I’ll need to do something else.
Race: Human
Name: Keyaru
Talent Values:
MP: 110 → 116
Physical Attack: 50 → 53
Physical Defense: 50 → 53
Magical Attack: 105 → 111
Magical Defense: 125 → 132
Speed: 120 → 126
Total Talent Value: 560 → 591
My body became properly stronger.
But this still isn’t enough. The parameters I need for physical combat haven’t even reached 60, which is the standard for ordinary humans. So I need to do Transformation Heal again.
I can’t raise my talents anymore, so I have to redistribute them. My MP and magic defense are a bit extreme right now, so let’s put that excess into physical attack and defense. My magic attack is also more than I need right now, but I want to keep it with at least 100, since it can affect the accuracy of Heal. I can’t mess with speed, since it’s the base of everything, and I’ll need it anyway.
So my optimal distribution right now is…
Race: Human
Name: Keyaru
Talent Values:
MP: 116 → 80
Physical Attack: 53 → 130
Physical Defense: 53 → 83
Magical Attack: 111 → 100
Magical Defense: 132 → 72
Speed: 126 → 126
Total Talent Value: 591 → 591
This is the ideal distribution for me to escape.
With this, even at level 29, I can escape this place.
But I still have to pay back Flare for everything she had done to me. I’ve decided that her punishment will be to lose herself and become my convenient tool. To do that, I’ll need 5 more levels. In other words, I only need 5 more levels.
The time for my revenge has been decided. After I get 5 more levels and the king leaves with his elite knights. At that moment, security will be weak. Until then, I just have to be patient. But perhaps not for too long.
Part 3
It’s been two weeks since I’ve regained my sanity. Since then, I’ve been living the worst life.
I’m forced to have sex with the people who want to raise their level cap. Naturally, men outnumber the women. The knights and adventurers are predominantly male.
My body became a toy for these men. Some of them even enjoyed fucking me, even though there’s nothing to be gained from it. Some even came just for that, they seem to enjoy young boys like me. They should all die.
But I endured it all. I resisted the urge to go mad and kept myself sane.
I didn’t mind being forced to use Heal on others. But, every time I did, princess Flare made sure to trample on my dignity. I can’t count on one hand the number of times I wanted to kill her on the spot. The only reason I was able to endure so far was because of this day.
For the past two weeks, all I could think of was how to get revenge on princess Flare in the most amusing way possible. I’ll do it brutally, gruesomely and with no mercy, until she begs me to kill her.
Even if she bites off her tongue, I’ll heal her instantly and continue!
After I’m done, I’ll erase Flare’s very existence, turn her into a cute pet, and make her live the rest of her life as my useful tool! I can do that with Transformation Heal!
It’s late at night now. Everyone is probably sleeping. In the darkness, my Jade Eye was shining.
The soldiers on guard are unprepared. They’d never expect me to escape.
“The time for patience is over.”
I learned that the king has left for another country this afternoon with his elite guards. I have the ideal abilities and I raised my level sufficiently.
I’m ready to escape and go to Flare’s room.
“Let’s get this party started. I’m coming to get you, Flare.”
I removed my collar with alchemy. Then, I melted the iron chain of the collar, poured it into the keyhole, cooled it down and made a makeshift key. Unlocking the jail was no problem at all.
If my objective was just to escape, I could just head outside like this. But I want to take revenge on Flare.
So I’ll go to Flare’s room now.
The time for revenge has begun! I left the jail and ran as fast as I could.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 10 – The Healer Goes To See Princess Flare
Part 1
In the middle of the night, when most people are deep asleep, I use alchemy magic to escape my prison.
It’s been a month since I was trapped there, and 2 weeks since I’ve regained my sanity. During that time, I’ve gained levels and skills by using Imitation and Looting Heal on many people. I’ve also gained knowledge that gives me power that the status doesn’t show.
Furthermore, by using Transformation Heal, I optimized my own body by changing the distribution of my talents to get a better status.

Level Limit Breakthrough (self): Hero exclusive skill. No level limit.
Level Limit Breakthrough (others): Hero exclusive skill. By giving body fluids with magic power, there’s a chance the other party’s level cap will be increased by 1.
That’s my current status. It has an above average physical and magical defense, making me a high speed vanguard with good attack power.
I optimized myself for 1-on-many fights, since I’m acting alone. I’ll try to avoid fighting as much as possible, but when it happens it’ll probably be 1-on-many. It’s important to be prepared.
Now, there’s no time to waste. Let’s start by getting rid of the guards who are supposed to be paying attention to me.
Right now, the guard had his back facing me. I tried to make as little noise as possible when opening the door, but they’ll surely notice in a few minutes’ time. So before that…
I move silently and quickly. It’s not ingrained in my body as a skill, but amongst the people Flare made me Heal was a person who was good at scouting. I’m making use of his techniques to run without making noise.
I sneak up behind the guard with moves reminiscent of a cat. Humans can do this much with technique alone without the help of skills. I touch the guard.
“Corruption Heal.”
An instant death that disregards any and all physical or magical defenses, Corruption Heal. It destroys the body by “restoring” it to a deteriorated form. A power only I can use.
Without being able to do anything, not even let out a scream, the guard becomes a corpse. I catch him so his fall doesn’t make a noise and gently put him down on the ground.
“It’s a pity I can’t use Looting Heal on corpses.”
I say to myself. Looting Heal can only be used on living things, so I can’t get any MP or experience from a corpse.
For safety reasons, I want to kill the guards immediately, but then I won’t be able to replenish my MP. It’s a problem because Corruption Heal is not very fuel-efficient. It takes nearly 20 MP per use, meaning I can use it four times at most. I have to use it carefully.
No, wait. I think I had a good idea. I’ll try it out later.
With this guard out of the way, I decided to rush over to the post the guards use.
There’s always two guards. One patrols the dungeon where I was imprisoned and the other waits in the post. If the guard on patrol doesn’t come back, the guard on the post can call for help.
In order to get more time before my escape is known, I have to deal with both guards.
I take the sword from the guard I just killed. Without a sword, I wouldn’t be able to use the Sword Saint’s skills. The moment I grasped the sword, I felt the skill activating. It soon became comfortable on my hand and I could feel my power growing.
There’s no time to waste, so let’s be quick about it.
Part 2
I stealthily enter the guards’ office by making use of the scout’s technique. The guard inside was doing paperwork. Thanks to that, he’s not paying attention to his surroundings.
From my point of view, he’s just a sitting duck. I sneak behind him and extend my hand to touch him.
“Corruption Heal.”
I use Corruption Heal for the second time. The guard collapses, but he’s still alive.
“Hmm, this is more convenient. Looting Heal.”
This time, I was able to take his MP and experience. I used Corruption Heal in a more ingenious way this time. Rather than just killing him, I just broke his spinal cord, basically putting him in a vegetative state. This way it’s safe and I can use Looting Heal.
I also used Heal to steal his memories and get information about the security system.
Now that I was able to restore my magic power, it’s time to begin preparations. I take off the guard’s clothes and put them on.
“I wonder how much time I can buy with this.”
I turn my head as I change clothes. My escape won’t be discovered until the replacement soldiers arrive at the guard station. According to the guard’s memory, it would be another hour or so until it was time to switch. Once the replacement arrives, my escape will be discovered.
But that’s enough time for me to accomplish my plan. Dressed as a soldier, I easily escape from the dungeon.
Part 3
After escaping from the dungeon, my next objective is the knights’ quarters.
If I just wanted to escape, there would be no need to go there. I have the memories of the soldier I’m disguised as, so I could just keep pretending and wait for a chance to escape.
But that’s not enough. For me to get my revenge against Flare, I need to go and see her in person. That’s why this detour is necessary.
The lodging I’m going to is no ordinary place, it’s where Flare’s royal guards are. They’re an elite unit that assemble only at her order. Being a knight of her personal guard will be convenient to get close to her.
While using the Sword Saint’s All-Seeing to find my enemies and using the scout’s abilities to kill them, I make my way cautiously.
Just because I’m dressed as a guard doesn’t mean I can let myself be seen. I have to remain as hidden as possible, it wouldn’t be funny if I’m found out after being yelled at for leaving my post.
Part 4
After leaving the main castle, where the dungeon is located, I make my way to the knight’s quarters, which is a separate building.
But then I started hearing noises coming from the castle. It seems that I’ve been taking too long.
“My escape has been found.”
I could tell from the unusual atmosphere. It’s best to assume the knights are already awake and have been ordered to search the castle, seal the gates to the city and keep watch for if I somehow make it past them. It’s probably also safe to assume the guards I killed were found.
They’re probably thinking something along the lines of “it’s just a drug addict that’s not even level 10, even a normal knight will be able to deal with him if he’s found”. They have no idea how much this little misunderstanding helps me.
It’s sooner than I expected, but this fuss is also a part of my plan.
Now come on, make more noise.
Part 5
Still in a soldier’s disguise, I arrived at the royal guards’ quarters and shouted.
“I’ve come to bring a message to the knights! A prisoner from the dungeon has escaped! Please be on your guard!”
It was really easy to enter the guards’ quarters while pretending to be here under orders to give them a message. Identifying myself as a soldier and the general commotion outside gave me credibility.
The person at the reception desk rang the bell to wake up the knights. I explained that I had to relay my message to the captain in person, so I was let in.
Even the knights have a difference in status. The treatment of commoner knights is incomparable to that of the knights that come from nobility.
The lodging room I headed towards was the kind used by people of noble blood who were chosen to be Flare’s royal guards, so it costs a lot of money. And this is probably one of the best rooms.
The door was locked. But locks only exist for those who don’t know alchemy. So I slowly open the door.
“Who the hell are you?!”
A big man was about to put on his armor. I remember him well. The captain of Flare’s royal guard.
He’s the first person I saw in the underground prison. I decided to use him to get to Flare. It’s not just because he has a useful position, I’m also a vindictive man, and most importantly, I’m a man of my word.
“28 hits. I’ve come to pay you back for those.”
I smile at him. He still hasn’t understood what was happening, and I extend my hand to him.
~30 minutes later, in a room in the royal castle.
“You’re all too late to gather. How can you call yourself this country’s elite, my personal guard?!”
““We apologize!””
Flare’s royal guards were awoken by the first messenger, and then summoned to her by the second.
Despite being in the middle of the night, Flare’s royal guards were in perfect order.
“Good grief, how was that dog able to escape under those conditions?”
Flare was biting on her thumbnail, her beautiful peach colored hair had unusual split-ends. She had grown some fear of the Healing Hero recently, and that only grew once she heard news of his escape.
That’s why she mobilized all the guards to thoroughly search for him, and she also called in her royal guard.
They knew his status and skills, so there was no need to be afraid. But Flare felt fear, even though there should be no reason to. It was her well-honed sixth sense telling her of an impending crisis.
“With all due respect, princess Flare, I have something to report.”
Somewhat proudly, the captain of the royal guard opens his mouth to speak to Flare.
“In this situation, if you say something unimportant, I’ll get mad, you know?”
And she didn’t mean simply being angry. It wouldn’t be strange if she let out some punishment in the limit of her authority.
“There’s a reason why we were late in coming here.”
“Are you going to make excuses?”
Flare’s expression was somewhat sadistic. In her mind, she was already imagining branding the captain as useless.
“No, nothing like that. Princess Flare will surely be happy to hear this.”
“Go on then, say it.”
Flare’s smile was still somewhat cruel.
“Two messengers came to our lodging. The second one had a face we recognized, but the first one was hiding his face. I found it suspicious, so I investigated it and it was the Healing Hero. We arrived late because we were catching him. What an idiotic man. To think he would sneak into the lodgings of Flare’s royal guard, which has the most elite knights in the kingdom.”
As he said this, the royal guards pushed out a man bound by rope. His throat was smashed, so he was unable to speak, save for the strange sounds he was making.
“I’m surprised. What was he even thinking to go there?”
His face was deformed from the beating he took, but Flare could see it was Keyaru, since his features were still visible.
“He probably planned to escape by blending with the soldiers, but our security was quickly set up, so he probably gave up the idea of escaping from the castle and then tried to hide in an empty room. It’s amazing he thought such a stupid plan would work.”
“Fufu, did he seriously think such a plan would work? You really are an idiot, aren’t you?”
Flare smiles in a nice mood. With the source of her anxiety gone, she could finally relax.
“Princess Flare, after I seized him I tried getting information as to how and why he escaped. He said something that I couldn’t overlook. However, I’m not sure if it’s alright for my subordinates to hear it, so I would like to talk in private.”
“Is it something to do with Heroes?”
“Yes. I trembled when I first heard it, so I would like to relay it to princess Flare at once.”
Flare makes a thinking posture, and then she smiles happily.
“Very well. Even if I dismiss everyone, here isn’t a good place, so come to my room. Information regarding Heroes is top secret after all. The rest of you can go back to rest after throwing that trash back in the dungeon. I’ll go later to give him plenty of discipline so he never tries something like this again.”
The Healing Hero, who was more beaten up than tattered rags, tried to plead something with his crushed throat, but all that did was annoy the knights, who beat him up again.
“I don’t mind if you hit him, but please try to not kill him, since he still has his uses. Punish him as much as you want, but hold back just a little.”
The knights dexterously continued their assault while avoiding fatal injuries. Thanks to Flare, the Healing Hero managed to avoid being killed, but he was thrown back in the dungeon after a beating.
“Well then, follow me, royal guard captain. My room is the most soundproof place in the castle, the perfect place for a private conversation.”
In a good mood, Flare returned to her room with the royal guard captain and maids as escorts.
Part 6
Flare’s room was decorated with the best furniture one can imagine. And yet, there’s no vulgarism, only sophistication. It really showed that a member of the royal family had picked all of this.
“There’s no greater reward than to enter my room, is there, royal guards’ captain?”
“Yes, it’s a happiness I’m grateful for.”
The royal guard captain bowed his head thankfully to show his gratitude.
“Now then, please talk. I’m curious as to what that trash told you.”
“About that…”
The royal guard captain showed a wicked smile. Not the kind you’d show to your mistress. With that wicked smile, he took out his sword and decapitated the two maids.
His speed was comparable to the Sword Saint’s. No matter how strong the maids attending to Flare were, it would be unreasonable to expect them to react to that.
The royal guard captain, who had just slaughtered the maids, raised the corners of his lips into a smile and his eyes glowed. He swung his left hand, which wasn’t holding a sword, towards Flare, punching her in the cheek.
Flare was blown away and slammed against the wall. She then fell to the ground. The royal guard captain rides Flare and then grips onto her face.
“Looting Heal.”
All the magic power was pulled out of Flare, who was in a complete panic. Her cheek was burning, she was afraid of the man in front of her, and she didn’t understand what was going on.
“Flare, even if you are the Magic Hero, without magic power, you’re the same as any girl. You can try to resist, but it’s pointless.”
“Royal guard captain, what in the world do you think you’re doing?!”
“Royal guard captain? Oh, you mean me.”
The royal guard captain had a strange look for a moment, but then he started laughing loudly.
“Transformation Heal.”
The royal guard captain uses magic, then his body begins to change. First, he became a size smaller, and then his face also changed. Flare was surprised to see that face.
“Your cute dog that you hate the most, Keyaru-kun, has come to play. I was lonely, so I escaped from my prison to see my owner! Just kidding, ahahahahahaha.”
It was Keyaru, the person who Flare despised and treated as a dog and abused at any given chance. He had changed his own appearance with Transformation Heal.
The man who had been beaten up and had his throat crushed was the true royal guard captain. It was only now that Flare understood the situation.
Her attendants had been killed, and she was alone with the man who held the deepest grudge towards her in the most soundproof room in the castle. Even more, her magic power was taken away and she’s unable to use even the most basic of spells.
Flare’s face distorted in fear, and Keyaru showed another wicked smile.
A tragedy was about to occur in this room.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 11 – The Healer Destroys Princess Flare
Part 1
Now then, since everything is taken care of, let’s get started on my revenge.
Transformation Heal is an ability that allows me to change the target’s body at will, so of course it can also be used to change appearances. I was currently looking down on Flare as I rode on top of her.
I deprived Flare of all her magic power with Looting Heal. A Magician’s status distribution is all geared towards their magic power, so without it even Flare can’t do anything.
“Wait, please wait, Keyaru-san. I think you’re mistaken about something.”
Under me, Flare has a cramped slime as she tries to talk to me.
“A mistake? What would it be?”
“I gave you the medicine to help you. I was trying to keep your mind from being broken by the pain. I planned to take you out of the dungeon eventually.”
Well, at least it’s not a complete lie. In my first life, she did eventually let me out when I basically became a doll with no personality and my senses of fear and pain stopped working. All for her to use me like a tool.
“I see. So Flare verbally abused me, kicked me in the balls, stomped on my face and let others fuck me night after night all out of the kindness of your heart. I didn’t know you could display affection like that.”
Flare’s face contorted in fear. Ah, I get it now, she thought I didn’t have any memories from when I was drugged.
“I remember everything. You really hurt me”
“A-ah, that’s… it’s different…”
“In the first place, if you didn’t want me to feel pain, why did you even force me to use Heal?”
“That was… to save a lot of people…”
“You’re lying. You only have an interest in increasing this country’s power. You only ever made me heal people from this kingdom.”
I knew that Flare’s goal was increasing her nation’s power. She never made me heal a single person from somewhere else. All the people she made me heal were warriors like the Sword Saint or people with high influence.
“I-it just so happened that those were all the people my intelligence network found.”
“That’s also a lie.”
This woman is not incompetent. She probably has a good idea of what’s going on in the other countries.
“But, but.”
“Well, it doesn’t really matter. Because of you, I had to taste hell, so I want you to taste it too. I don’t care if you’re actually a good person or had good intentions. You made me suffer, so now I’ll get my revenge. It’s that simple.”
The reasons don’t matter, all that matters are the facts.
Flare was still trying to make excuses, but this is just getting depressing.
“Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”
To start off, I broke one of her fingers. That’s all it takes to make her scream like that.
Oh, come on now, it won’t be fun if this is all it takes.
Wait, I have an idea.
“Flare, let’s play a game.”
“A-a game?”
Flare was looking confused. Well, that much is understandable.
“I’m going to do to Flare everything you did to me. That’s to say I’m going to inflict pain on you as much as you did to me, I’m going to rape you, I’m going to mentally destroy you and make you into a useful tool. You did all these things to me, so put yourself in my shoes for a while. Maybe then Flare will realize what you did?”
Flare’s face turns pale. She looks at me with pleading eyes, but then her face turns even more pale. It seems she understood I’m serious when she looked into my eyes.
“M-money, I’ll give you money. I’ll give you power, a title and I’ll even make you a noble. Women as well, as many beautiful noble daughters as you want. S-so please.”
“Ahaha, do you really expect me to believe such nonsense?”
This woman would never forgive her enemies. She’d probably do all that she said. But then, when I lower my guard, she’d have me killed in my sleep.
“It’s true. Besides, even if you kill me here, you won’t be able to escape. It’s obvious which is the smarter decision.”
In silence, I broke another one of her fingers.
“Kyahiiiiiiii!”
She let out an unsightly scream, nothing you’d expect to hear from a princess.
“Because Flare is being annoying, you lost one of your chips for our game.”
“What are you talking about…?”
“I’m going to break the fingers on Flare’s hands one by one. Then I’ll tear off your nails. Once the hands are finished I’ll move on to the feet. If you manage to not scream by the time I’m done breaking all your fingers and toes, it’ll be your win. If you win, that’s the end of my revenge. But if you lose, I’ll do everything I said before, and I’ll even add a bonus.”
This is something I’m doing so Flare’s heart doesn’t break. If she just gives up on everything, she won’t show me any interesting reactions.
That’s why I gave her a way out. With hope, she’ll be able to face the pain.
“I-I understand. I’ll do it, so, if I win…”
“Yes, I’ll keep my word. I’m not like Flare.”
Flare clenches her back teeth with a face full of determination. With this, she’ll fight the pain head on without losing heart. Yes, I’m sure of it.
Now, let the fun games begin.
Part 2
“Nnn!”
Flare frantically tries to keep her scream from coming out by biting her lower lip. Her mouth is stained with blood.
I’m surprised. She’s endured until there’s only this last toe left. Even with broken fingers and torn off nails, she was still able to endure. As expected of a princess, a heart of steel.
But I don’t quite like what’s on her mind. She’s been holding back her scream because she’s so close to winning.
That’s why what I’m going to do is…
“Heal.”
“Eh?”
Since she only had one toe left, I’m kindly going to use Heal on her.
“Flare, I’ve healed you. Now then, shall we go from the hand again?”
I tell her with a kind voice. To heal even such a woman, how kind am I?
“Unfair, this is unfair. Because, this-”
“I said I would break all your fingers, didn’t I? From the start, Flare should have understood that part of the game was enduring until my magic power ran out. Now then, I wonder how many more times I can use Heal?”
Flare’s throat makes a weird sound. Even though I went through the trouble of giving her hope by telling her she just has to wait until my magic power runs out.
Let’s see her condition. Ooh, as expected of Flare, she seems determined once again.
Well, unfortunately for her, unlike Corruption Heal, the normal Heal is very fuel-efficient and only takes 5 MP per use. I can still use it about 10 more times. But Flare probably misjudged my level and assumed I’d only be able to use it twice or so at most.
With such determination, how fun will it be to break it? Thinking that, I put my hand on Flare’s finger again.
Part 3
“Kyaaaaaaa, it hurts, it hurts! Fingers, my fingers, gaaaah!”
Finally, on the fifth time around, Flare finally lost her composure and let out a miserable scream.
“Too bad. Only 8 more times and Flare would have won. What a shame.”
“Ha, ha, 8 more?”
Flare’s eyes were filled with despair, and more tears started spilling down her face.
“Unfortunately, you lost. Now then, let’s have you enjoy some pain a bit longer.”
I have enough of that kind of knowledge stored up in my head. I’ll be sure to enjoy Flare’s suffering without letting her break until I go to the next course.
Part 4
After that, for about 30 minutes, I continued hurting Flare’s body. Her dress was all tattered and her exposed skin was all injured. Her tears had dried and her throat no longer let out her voice.
Yeah, it was quite enjoyable. Now you felt a hundredth of the pain I had experienced.
Next, it’s time for the sexual revenge and psychological punishment.
I tear off Flare’s dress.
“A, aaa, aa.”
Flare can’t even speak now, so all she can do is let out these noises. Even if I tore off her dress, I knew what this woman was really like on the inside. And with a body covered in blood and wounds to boot, there’s no way I can get hard for her.
Well, that last part is easy to solve at least.
“Heal.”
First, I’m going to fix her body. But I’m going to leave her Achilles tendon alone, I had cut it during her torture so she wouldn’t try to escape. It would be troublesome if she were to keep running around. Once her wounds were healed, her beautiful and more sexually attractive body appeared.
“Hi, hii, please forgive me, please, please stop. It hurts, I’m scared, please stop.”
Flare, now able to speak again, held her head in her hands and cried while begging me, not even caring about being naked. It seems that her tears have also come back.
“Flare, I was the same. I said that using Heal was too painful for me so I didn’t want to use it again, didn’t I? But what did Flare do?”
“I, I… it’s, it’s different…”
“No it’s not, that’s why I’m doing the same thing. But I’m getting tired of hurting you, so now I’m going to fuck you.”
Flare’s eyes opened wide and she started shouting.
“Noooo, noo! I don’t want to be dirtied by someone like you. I’m a princess, someone of noble blood, you’re just a villager, a nobody. Impossible, absolutely impossible!”
Humans tend to show their true nature when they are driven into a corner. The princess, who smiles at the people without discrimination, is actually an elitist that thinks she’s some chosen person.
“When you hate it that much, even I don’t feel like it anymore. To begin with, it’s hard to get hard for a pig like Flare.”
Flare, who seemed to misunderstand something, showed a look of relief. How stupid of her.
I move towards the fireplace in the room. I pick up the fireplace poker and melt its tip to form it into a stick. Once it’s hot enough, I take it out of the fire and hold it next to the carpet, which catches on fire.
“Flare, my rod or this rod, which one do you want? I’m going to put one of the two inside Flare, but I’ll let you choose which.”
If I can’t get a boner, I’ll use something else. Humans are tool-using animals after all. But Flare still doesn’t seem to understand. Maybe she really is a pig.
“Eh? A, that’s…”
“By the way, if you don’t answer, they’re both going in. So answer within 10 seconds. 10, 9…”
I started the countdown and Flare’s relieved face was nowhere to be seen anymore. Shaking, she looks into my eyes and lets out an inaudible scream. But I’m loud as I keep the countdown going.
Flare gives me a pleading, almost flirty, gaze and I reply back with a smile. Her face turns even paler. She must have understood by now that I’m a man of my word.
She seems to have made up her mind. She opens her mouth with a pale face and shivering lips.
“Y-yours is better…”
“Hm? What’s better?”
“Your rod!”
“I see, so it’s better. But I won’t force you to pick the best option if you don’t want to. I can give you the iron rod if that’s what you want.”
Flare shuttered and trembled with fear. Clenching her fists, she then shouted with a blushing face:
“I want Keyaru-san’s. Please, give Flare Keyaru-san’s big, hard and manly thing!”
I burst out laughing. This is hilarious. I can’t believe this princess said this. That’s why, let’s tease her a bit more.
“Oh, so you want it that bad. I didn’t know Flare was this much of a slut. The king and the people must be crying.”
“Yes, I want it. Please, I beg you, have mercy on me, Keyaru-san.”
She even got down on her knees. Flare really is a slut.
“But unfortunately, I don’t get excited when looking at pigs. Oh, I know, do something, anything, to get me excited. If you can’t do it in 10 minutes, it’s the iron rod that’s going in.”
How kind of me to give her this chance. Staggering without being able to get on her feet, Flare changes her position.
“How is this, Keyaru-sama?”
She gets on all fours with her ass held high. The so-called panther pose. It’s an inviting pose, but what’s irritating is the look on her face.
So I grab her by the hair and make her look up at me.
“There’s no way I can get hard with just that. Or maybe you don’t actually want my dick? Huh?”
I put the burning hot iron rod next to Flare’s face. Her eyes widen.
“I-I want it, I’ll do it properly this time. So let me try again.”
Now she gets on her back and shows me her pussy. I can see her pretty pink virgin color.
“Give Keyaru-sama’s amazing thing to Flare here.”
“Good try. Now, get on your knees and shake your hips like you’re dancing.”
“Y-yes.”
After I told her, Flare started dancing while also trying to show me her pussy. I’m laughing more than I am excited. As I pointed and laughed at Flare, her embarrassment grew. Her dancing while crying satisfies my tastes.
“Now, try pleasuring yourself. It’s going to hurt more if you’re not wet.”
“Y-yes, please watch as this naughty Flare touches herself.”
Flare frantically used her fingers to play with her genitals. She seems to actually be getting wet, since I can hear a wet sound. I’m surprised, you really have to be a pervert to get horny in this situation.
I’m finally hard.
I kick the pig Flare, and then I make her get on all fours like an animal. This is the best position to fuck a pig like her.
“Alright, you did good. Here’s your reward. I’m going to fuck you now, since you want it so much.”
“T-thank you very muc- iiiiiiiiii!”
When I put my cock in, she screamed like a pig. She was bleeding. Thanks to me, Flare has matured into a woman.
“It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, my place hurts! Please be gentle, I’m dying, it hurts.”
“Huh? The more you hurt the better I feel. There’s no way I’m stopping.”
I slam my hips as hard as I can from behind her. I’m gouging out Flare’s wounds, and I also grab her hair to pull it. Every thrust makes her scream, which is quite enjoyable.
But it’s a little monotonous. I saw a big white meaty ass in front of me. Without thinking, I slapped it as hard as I could, and then I heard a nice sound.
“Ahiiiiiii!”
Flare let out a new type of squeal. The tone of her voice is quite nice.
“It hurts. Why does my butt feel hot?”
“It’s fine. Just keep moaning you pig. Or do you want more punishment?”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Please don’t do anything worse.”
If you’re going to say that, don’t disobey me in the first place. But still, spanking her ass is fun. Every time I slap her, she tightens up and lets out a nice voice. I slap her ass from time to time as I repeatedly shake my hips.
When Flare starts to go blank and almost passes out, I grab her by the throat and force her to come back to her senses.
As I do this, I feel myself close to cumming. The faster I go, the louder Flare screams.
“An, st, stop, please. It hurts, don’t let it out inside, please.”
“I see, so inside is no good, huh. In that case, I’ll make sure to let it all out inside Flare.”
I pushed myself deeper and let out my semen. When I pulled out, a thick white liquid came out of Flare’s pussy.
“You’re a good toy, Flare.”
I made Flare look at me. Once she did, I put my cock dirty with her blood, love juice and my semen into her mouth. I put it as deep as her throat for her to clean it, and when I pulled out, it was perfectly clean.
Then Flare vomited. How rude.
“N-no, a commoner’s child… I don’t want it, it’s dirty. No.”
Flare was half-crazy as she tried to scrape out the white semen. This pig seems to have no ability to learn. If you react like that, you can’t expect me to hold myself back.
While looking at Flare, who is engrossed in shoveling out my seed, I head to the fireplace. I need to reheat the now cold iron rod.
Alright, this seems good.
“Flare, it won’t work if you try to take it out like that.”
“Eh?”
“There’s a way to absolutely make sure you won’t get pregnant. I’m a nice guy, so I’ll do it for you.”
Flare’s eyes lit up for a moment when she thought she wouldn’t have to worry about getting pregnant with a commoner’s child.
“Please do it!”
“Then, spread your legs open.”
She opened her legs and even her pussy to show me. I’ll be kind and properly dispose of the sperm.
“I’ll do it now. Sperm is sensitive to heat. If I burn it, you’ll never have to worry about getting pregnant.”
“Eh?”
Flare lets out a dumb noise. She seems to have finally noticed the burning iron rod in my hand.
“Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”
I was going to put the iron rod in her. That’s basically what I said.
The fear alone made Flare pass out while pissing herself.
“Pfft, hahahaha!”
It was so ridiculous I could only point and laugh at the pig.
Part 5
I overdid it a little. I laughed so hard I felt I was going to die.
Flare is letting out a low voice with depressed eyes. It’s as if she’s just had a mental breakdown.
Now, I guess I can say that all the pain, sexual and psychological abuse has been repaid in full. All that remains is to break her ego and make her into a useful tool.
Flare is about 90% broken. Any normal woman would have been broken long ago. She’s as persistent as a cockroach. That’s why it was so fun, but now I’m getting tired of it.
It’s time to end this.
“Heal.”
I heal all of Flare’s wounds, even the ones I hadn’t healed before. Then, to finish her off, I’ll give her a Transformation Heal.
“Ah, aah…”
I grabbed Flare, who was babbling like a baby, by her hair and put her in front of a mirror.
As she saw her face in the mirror, tears began to spill from her eyes, which were trying to focus as hard as they could.
“Ah, aaah, aah, m-my face, my face…”
“How is it? I tried to make you look even prettier.”
“No, this, this isn’t my face!”
Flare’s face was not the usual. While keeping the original mostly intact, I tweaked her appearance to my liking.
“I made your face more to my liking. Your face has changed and your memory will soon be gone, making you disappear from the world. You’ll be reborn as my useful tool, one that I’ll use to have sex whenever I feel like and as a meat shield on the battlefield. And don’t worry about the castle, I’ll prepare a corpse to look just like Flare. They’ll eventually find it and everyone will think you died here.”
If the princess is simply kidnapped, the kingdom will look for her to the ends of the earth. But if a fake body is found in the castle and the real one changes her face and loses her memory, they’ll never suspect I have her. I’ll be able to walk around with her in peace.
“I’m happy for you. The next time you wake up, you’ll be my faithful and loyal servant. It’s great that even a piece of shit like you can get a second chance and be reborn.”
“No, no, noo! Don’t do it! Nooo!”
Flare flailed about, but the difference in status between us is so great there’s no point in it.
“Because I’m kind, I’ll even let you say goodbye to your old self. I suppose you should be praying in your last minute as Flare.”
Flare cried, flailed and finally broke completely. Aah, that’s good. I was able to properly break her before the end.
“Goodbye, Flare. Heal.”
All of Flare’s memories are gone. Only the memories, her knowledge is still there. I can do delicate operations like that. Once she wakes up, I’ll fill her with all kinds of interesting things.
Now that I’ve accomplished my goal, it’s time to get out of the castle with Flare.
I was able to destroy the woman who ruined my life and make her into a useful slave. The air is good, my body is light.
This is wonderful! Is this what it feels to get revenge? Right now, at this moment, I’m the happiest man alive!
RRedo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 12 – The Healer Goes To The Next City In Search Of Friends
Part 1
After I completed my revenge, I began making a plan to escape the castle.
This is the princess’ room, but someone’s bound to come in sooner or later. Since I’m taking a big baggage, the hurdle of the escape is increased.
It’s easy enough to escape alone, but it’s harder to escape with someone else.
“Well, for now, I’ll get some money before I leave.”
I take the maids’ wallets, and I also go through the room to get a lot of jewelry that I can easily convert into cash. I also took the royal guard captain’s wallet as a gift.
As expected of people close to the princess, they’re carrying a lot of money without a care in the world. I won’t be having trouble with money for a while.
It’s easy enough to make money using my healing powers, but the more money I make the more attention I’ll draw to myself. At the very least, I want to avoid making a fuss until I leave the capital.
I put on the royal guard captain’s armor. If I have his appearance, it’ll be easy to escape from the front gates.
Aah, the royal guard captain really went and did it. His subordinates will testify that he went to the princess’ room, so he’ll be forced to take all the blame for this mess. I won’t be caught, since I’ll change my appearance as soon as I escape. The royal family will probably kill all his relatives.
“Now then, I should do something about this woman.”
Even as the royal guard captain, it would be too suspicious to be seen carrying a naked woman.
So I’ll put on some of the armor’s inner wear on Flare, who was still completely naked and unconscious. Flare’s clothes are not in this room, there’s probably a separate room for it. The maids’ clothes are dirtied with blood and are unusable.
Since I used Transformation Heal to change her face, no one will recognize her as Flare. If someone asks, I’ll just say some noble’s daughter got a little too drunk and I’m taking her home.
I’m ready to escape. I use Transformation Heal to change back into the royal guard captain’s appearance.
I also take a lot of flammable items and place them in good spots. I pour plenty of oil and light it on fire. A small flame is born and smoke starts rising.
I’ll adjust it so that it really becomes a fire about an hour from now. By the time the fire is noticed, we’ll already have escaped the castle. This is both a distraction and a way to destroy evidence. Magic used in investigations is not as foolproof as it seems. They would be able to find our traces in this room and use it to follow us if I don’t do that.
I committed the serious crime of killing the princess and setting fire to this room. How much punishment would I receive if I’m caught? Well, it doesn’t really matter. The punishment is all for the royal guard captain.
I feel like I forgot something, but I should hurry. I don’t have time to waste. I leave the room while carrying Flare in a princess carry. I was a little nervous as I left the room, since it’d be very hard to explain myself here.
As expected, I was stopped and questioned on my way out, but I was able to talk my way out of it with the excuse I prepared in advance. It doesn’t matter if they were suspicious that I was having fun with a woman I’d brought with me.
On my way out, I saw one of the maids who had assaulted me in order to raise her level, so I took revenge on her by killing her while transforming myself into Flare. Now I have a body to fake as Flare’s.
After leaving the castle and entering the city, I entered the river that flows inside the city and got rid of my armor, leaving only the sword. But the sword is a little too big and heavy for me to use properly.
Since I’ll keep it, I’ll use alchemy to change it into a form more suited to me. While doing that, I look toward the castle. The fire was burning brightly. I really did a good job.
It’s dangerous to leave the city at night, so let’s stay in an inn for now. I wonder what kind of face I should give myself with Transformation Heal? Probably a gentle young man’s look, reflecting my inner self.
Hmm, yeah, this is good. Just like I wanted.
I look at the surface of the water and see a young man with a good looking face.
After that, I stayed in an average-quality inn with Flare. I knew the money I got would come in handy. I’ll put the money to good use.
Part 2
I spent the night at the inn. In the meantime, I was thinking about what to do in the future.
I have three main objectives I want to achieve from now on:
The first is to continue my revenge. I have to repay the Sword Hero and the Gun Hero for their kindness. The Sword Hero is a beautiful woman who dresses as a man because she’s actually a lesbian, every time Flare would talk to me, she’d get jealous and beat me up. The Gun Hero is a homosexual pedophile who abused me at any given chance. I can’t forgive either of them, I’ll give them their comeuppance.
The second is that I want to meet the Demon Lord. I have nothing against her, but I’m curious about her last words. I want to know what it is that she was trying to protect. It could also be fun to end the war between humans and demons.
The third is to become as strong as I possibly can. To tell the truth, right now, I’m still too weak. I want the strength that can fight any problems that I might face.
During the night, I suddenly realized what it was that I had forgotten. I didn’t kill the royal guard captain that I’d transformed into me. I made him unable to hold a pen and I smashed his throat so hard it can never be healed by ordinary means, but his identity will be immediately discovered if they use an Appraisal on him.
Once that happens, they’ll realize I have the power to change my appearance and that I was the royal guard captain that left with a woman in my arms that night. They could also make the connection that that woman was Flare.
They probably won’t use an Appraisal right away, but they’ll surely do it after he doesn’t heal anyone for a while. There’s also the possibility they’ll give him an elixir and he’ll insist he’s not me.
“It’s too risky to sneak into the castle now.”
Now that the princess has been killed and her room was set on fire, the security system is unprecedentedly tight. I shouldn’t be taking unnecessary risks. The safest thing to do now is to flee to another country.
But I’ll have to dedicate the whole day for Flare to be reborn as I want her, so we’ll depart tomorrow.
Once we go, we should head east. I hear there’s a very liberal city that way, where people come and go at will and public management is loose.
Next to me, a woman starts moving. It’s Flare. I slept in the same bed as her last night.
She has finally woken up. I wonder if the memory erasure went well.
Flare gets up and starts looking at her surroundings restlessly.
“Huh? Where am I? What was I doing?”
Then, a puzzled look showed up on her face. After trying to think for a bit, she starts holding her head.
“I can’t remember anything. Who even am I?”
She pondered anxiously and frantically. But it’s useless. She won’t be able to remember anything, her memories have been completely erased.
No, it’s slightly different. It’s more correct to say she lost the key to her memories. Even with magic, it’s still impossible to erase memories, so I just made it impossible for her to remember.
Eventually, after we reach a point where there’s no going back, I’ll allow her to remember. For example, it would probably be interesting to see her reaction to regaining her memories after she completely falls in love with me and I made her destroy her own country, which she believed was evil.
Well, putting my fantasies aside for now, I should get started.
“You woke up. I’m so relieved.”
I tightly hug Flare, as if I’m her lover.
“W-who are you?”
“You can’t remember me?!”
I make sure to react in a way that shows I’m very surprised.
“No, I can’t remember. I don’t even know about myself.”
I release Flare from my embrace and firmly hold onto her shoulders.
“No way?! You don’t even remember your own name?! Your name is Freia. You are my servant. Even though we loved each other so much, you say you’ve forgotten everything…”
I stare right into her eyes while using hypnotism magic. I’m also using alchemy to vaporize the rest of the drug inside my body. A duet of hypnosis and drugs. It works very well on people with no memories and with their head in a blank state.
I can do this thanks to all the knowledge I have.
Freia is Flare’s new name. It’s best to change the name as well as the appearance. The reason I kept it close to her original name was to reduce the unconscious discomfort she would feel.
“We were… lovers.”
“That’s right. You were deeply in love with me. You fell unconscious around 3 days ago with a high fever. To think you’d lose your memory when you finally woke up. Poor Freia.”
It’s a rough setting and acting, but it should be enough for the current Flare. The proof is in her eyes, her drowsy eyes are telling me she’s slowly believing everything I’m telling her.
I set things up in an interesting way. Freia, aka Flare, is a woman who takes great pleasure in serving me. She would gladly give her life for mine and is an obedient sow who is willing to follow even the most horrible commands.
“I am Freia. Your servant, your sow.”
Flare repeats to herself with eyes devoid of reason. No, wait, it’s Freia now.
“You might remember if we join our bodies like we usually do. Freia, beg me as you usually do.”
Just like that, I created a past that never existed. I created a sex life we’ve yet to have. During it, I was able to finish putting Freia in a hypnotized state thanks to all the pleasure she was feeling. After we finish, we lay down together on the bed.
Freia interlocks our hands. Heh, there’s no doubt in her mind that I’m her master.
While lying down, Freia looks at me with a passionate look and opens her mouth.
“Fufu, my memories haven’t returned, but I can tell you’re someone very important to me. I forgot to ask you something important. What’s your name?”
Now that’s troubling. I haven’t thought of a new name yet.
I’ve changed my appearance, so I might as well change my name. I want a strong-sounding name.
“My name is Keyaruga. Don’t forget it.”
I am reborn as Keyaruga, much stronger than the weak Keyaru.
Part 3
I spent an entire day making Flare into Freia, my lovely servant. The next day, we were getting ready to leave the capital.
The former princess is currently my baggage carrier, and with a smile on her face. It’s quite a sight to see.
Once we reach the next town, I want to buy a slave. I want at least one person on the vanguard. I can only change my own talent values, and the mage Flare isn’t good as a meat shield, so I definitely need a vanguard.
A demi-human slave is good. If I use a certain method, I can be sure they’ll never betray me. Humans can’t be trusted, you never know when they’ll betray you. I’m a good person who has decided to only use brainwashing on my targets for revenge, so I have no choice but to get a demi-human slave.
And if I’m going to buy one anyway, I want a woman. It’ll be more convenient for me to raise her level cap. It’s also possible to do it with a man, but I won’t feel good.
While I was thinking about this, I saw a bulletin board.
“Ahahahahahahahahaha!”
I burst out laughing. As expected, it was a wanted poster for the royal guard captain. There’s a high bounty on him, since he committed a major crime.
Looking around, I see that his wanted poster is plastered all over the capital. They’re looking for the wrong guy, like this, I can easily escape.
Now, while this country is showing its stupidity, let’s go to the next town and make new friends.
The sun was setting as we were shopping for the things we’ll need on our trip. We will stay in the inn just one more night and depart tomorrow.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 13 – The Healer Heads Towards The New City
Part 1
“Keyaruga-sama! Keyaruga-sama!”
I woke up hearing a woman’s voice. I look around, we’re still in the inn like before.
“Good morning, Freia. What’s wrong? For you to wake me up like that.”
“You seemed like you were having a nightmare. I got worried and woke you.”
“I see, I’m sorry to worry you. … Thank you, Freia.”
“No, everything of mine is for Keyaruga-sama. This much is only natural.”
Freia, a beautiful girl with light pink hair, blushed a little and smiled proudly.
Freia is actually princess Flare, the woman I hated so much.
My grudge won’t disappear by simply killing her. That’s why I erased her memory and changed her face. From now on, I’ll use her as my slave, both for fighting as well for sex.
The person herself is happy to serve me and wholeheartedly laughs. It’s comical.
“I had a bad dream, but… I’m glad to have seen it. It reminded me of what I need to do.”
Freia tilts her head curiously. But there’s no need for me to explain it to her, nor for her to understand it.
That dream reminded me of what I must do. Taking revenge on princess Flare was just the beginning. The Sword Hero and the Gun Hero are still out there.
They treated me just as badly as princess Flare did. I will definitely get my revenge.
Part 2
We had breakfast in the inn and then began heading out of the capital.
We were going to take the regular horse-drawn carriage to the next town, but that service is under strict regulation due to the recently increased security measures. So we were left with no choice but to walk.
We just made it out of the city. I was able to easily pass the inspection. That’s only a matter of course, since the man who is wanted is the captain of the royal guard, not me, and Freia is just a girl.
“Freia, make sure you hold on to your luggage.”
“Y-yes, Keyaruga-sama.”
I’m still not really used to my new name, Keyaruga, so it took me a second to respond to it.
Both Freia and I are carrying luggage, and they’re quite heavy. It’s several kilometers until the next town, so we had to pack a lot of things.
Since we’re not sure what we’ll be able to find on the way, we had to pack a lot of water and food, as well as other necessities such as clothes. Making our luggages quite heavy.
A heavy luggage also means our expenses were quite high.
It would be regrettable to skimp out on equipment for our travels, so we purchased a set of lightweight but sturdy clothes for the two of us and a cloak to cover our faces.
As expected, I wasn’t able to buy anything enchanted with magic, but that’s fine. I’ll make one myself one of these days. With alchemy and knowledge, all I need is time.
Metal armor would be better for defense than the clothes we got, but it wouldn’t be worth it for our long trip. It would be a severe lack of insight on my part if I wasted money on that.
I also brought a sturdy water bottle, preserved food, sleeping bags, and more stuff we’ll need along the way.
In the end, we spent about half the money we had. We have to find a way to make more money soon.
“P-please wait, Keyaruga-sama. T-the luggage is heavy.”
Freia is breathing hard. I thought this much would be no problem for her, but I supposed she was never used to exercising herself. But she’ll be able to show the real value of her status after getting used to it.
“I’m sure Freia can endure it. So give it your best shot.”
“But it’s the first time I carry something so heavy. Please, let’s slow down.”
“This is for Freia’s own good. If you can’t move on the battlefield, you die. Besides, didn’t I tell Freia she can do it?”
It couldn’t be helped if she actually lacked the ability to do it. but she’s still level 25, even if she is a Magician, so her physical strength is basically that of a superhuman.
In other words, the only reason why she’s having trouble is because she believes she can’t do it. It’s a problem that can only be solved by forcing her. If I let her be, she’ll never be able to do it.
“I understand! I’ll do my best to live up to Keyaruga-sama’s expectations.”
Hearing my words, Freia quickens her steps. It seems she got a little motivated. Well, if she runs out of energy or gets muscle pains, I’ll use Heal to help her a little. By the time we reach the next town, she’ll already be much better.
“I know that Keyaruga-sama is aiming for the town of Ranalitta, but is there a reason for that?”
“Yes, I’m going to make a new friend. Freia and I are both rearguards, so we need a vanguard.”
By the way, I convinced Freia that I’m a nobleman from some country training as a warrior and on a quest to save the world. It’s not exactly a lie, since I plan to travel all over the world, become stronger, and end the war between humans and demons.
“I see. I believe there must be many strong adventurers there.”
She seems to have some kind of idea of how the town is. Even though her memory has been erased, common knowledge still remains.
In a single phrase, Ranalitta is the city of caos.
Many products, both legal and illegal, gather there. And it’s easy to enter the city, so lots of people come and go. That’s why many yakuza-like adventurers like to live there. It’s a good place to live as long as you’re strong.
“I don’t expect much from the adventurers. What I expect to get there is a surprise.”
My purpose is to visit the slave market. About 60% of the country’s slaves are bought and sold there.
Demi-humans caught with the purpose of being turned into slaves gather in Ranalitta. Some of the illegal requests made to adventurers involve raiding demi-human villages, catching the women and the children and distributing them to the slave market.
I don’t personally like the existence of these people, but I have to use what I can. At the very least, I plan to treat the slave I buy in a way that they’ll be happy it was me who bought them.
But I need to be careful when buying a slave. They can be a hit or a miss.
Because many of them are demi-humans who were forcefully abducted, most of them are in poor condition and it’s not uncommon for them to die right after they’re bought. The talent values and level cap also depend on luck. And demi-humans who come with an Appraisal are much more expensive.
But I have the Jade Eye and Heal. I can carefully select and purchase some species with high physical attack, physical defense and speed, and I can even heal them if they are wounded.
Freia and I continue to walk. During that, I sometimes picked up some wild grass and mushrooms, since I had an idea for a money-making scheme. With some luck, things will go well in the next town.
Because of our high levels, we’re also going quite fast. At this pace, we’ll only have to camp out twice. As I was thinking that, Freia called out to me.
“By the way, you’ve been gathering grasses and mushrooms for a while. What are they for?”
“To earn money for our travels.”
I said that to her and then showed the basket in my hands with its contents.
“This is?”
“I’ll use these wild grasses and mushrooms to make medicine. I can use alchemy magic, so I can extract the medicinal ingredients and make them into enchanted potions.”
“You can do even that. I’m surprised.”
Freia looks at me with eyes filled with respect. I can only smile wryly at that. Alchemy has a lot of practical use outside combat, such as the ability to produce stuff, or you could even say that’s the correct way to use it.
Using Heal is quick and easy, but it’ll make me stand out. But by passing myself as an alchemist doctor and using alchemy to make potions and the Jade Eye to find sick people, I can earn money discreetly.
And it’ll also earn credibility to my claim of being an alchemist.
“I’ll do my best to help Keyaruga-sama sell his potions in the city.”
“Well, if Freia is around, I’m sure it’ll sell well.”
It would be hard for me to pop up out of nowhere and appeal to the public. But if there’s an extraordinarily beautiful girl like Freia there, then the customers will come flocking over. Good looks itself is a weapon.
As long as the customers come, I can win them over with the quality of my potions. At that point, I’ll win against any other vendors. I’m offering potions made by an alchemist, after all.
For the time being, I should focus on getting money for our travels. I put power into my Jade Eye and continue collecting grasses and mushrooms one after the other.
Part 3
After that, we continued walking for 2 more hours. Then we set up camp in an open area of the forest a little off the road.
I set up the tent while teaching Freia how to do it. She has some trouble but tries her best to learn. She’s smart and dexterous, so after we do it two more times or so she should be able to learn it.
While I was making our camp, I sensed the presence of something with magic power. I turned my head and saw a rabbit-like creature with a horn on its head looking at me. Lucky me.
Smiling, I took out a knife from my pocket and threw it at the rabbit. The knife pierced the rabbit’s forehead.
“Pigyaa!”
With that final scream, the rabbit became a corpse.
“This is good, Freia. We’ll have meat for dinner rather than just preserved food.”
“Keyaruga-sama, that’s a monster, you know. You’ll get an upset stomach if you eat it.”
She was right, there’s a difference between monsters and ordinary animals. The difference between them is if they carry miasma on them or not.
For humans, that miasma is like poison. You won’t get off unscathed if you eat a monster. But, on the knowledge I have absorbed, there is a way to get rid of the miasma.
It’s knowledge I got from a certain sage when I used Imitation Heal on him. An ancient hero called Souji* found out a method to remove the miasma of monsters and turn them safe for consumption and he wrote a thesis about it.
“Don’t worry, it’s safe. And we’ll need it to become stronger anyway.”
Even I don’t want to eat monsters.
In the thesis written by the ancient hero, he says that demons have a factor that helps humans become stronger. I can confirm the presence of that factor with my Jade Eye.
If I eat the meat of this monster, that factor will adapt to my body and my talent values will rise. I can increase my talent values a little with Transformation Heal, but this is an addition to that. But I have to take in the factor in appropriate form.
I chuckle as I eat the meat of the one-horned rabbit. It’s a bit nostalgic. I did the same thing in my previous life. I would often be made to go without meals, so I’d sneak out to hunt a monster and use the ancient hero’s technique to remove its miasma for me to eat it.
Maybe that even helped me overwhelm the Demon Lord in that final battle. At that time, I was really skilled with Heal, so I was able to easily and instantly focus my talent values on whatever I needed at the moment. I hope to reach the same level of skill again.
“Freia, I’ll make a delicious dinner soon, so look forward to it.”
Now then, let’s have a tasty, tasty dinner. Food made of monsters is unexpectedly not bad.
*TN: Souji is the name of the main character in another of the author’s works (https://www.novelupdates.com/series/cheat-majutsu-de-unmei-wo-nejifuseru-wn/) and yes he does do what Keyaru said he did.
The author writes his stories in a way that you don’t need to check all the stories in a shared universe to enjoy it. But if you want to check them, the other stories set in this world are Elf Tensei and Cheat Magic.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 14 – The Healer Reaches The City Of The Fittest
Part 1
I killed the one-horned rabbit that showed up, butchered the meat and then started a fire for cooking. Of course, it was for tonight’s dinner.
The miasma contained in the meat of monsters is poisonous to humans, so you can’t eat monsters. But, beside the miasma, it also contains a factor that helps humans get stronger.
Each monster has a different factor, so there’s no point in eating the same monster twice. For example, after taking in the factor of this one-horned rabbit…
“Hou, it seems my talent for physical attack went up by 2.”
And just like that, my talent value increased. The status is made up of multiplying the talent values by the level. My physical attack talent might have only gone up by 2, but it’s already good that the base value has increased.
The higher the level, the bigger the difference these small increases will make.
I use Transformation Heal on the meat that I’m handling. Using the foundation of a theory an ancient hero made, I remove the miasma and activate the factor. You can’t just go around eating any and all monsters, you have to check for the factor every time.
It’s terrifying that the ancient hero Souji managed to figure this out without the Jade Eye. There’s rumors he left many research papers, but he’s someone who lived hundreds of years ago, so most of them are gone.
I would like to look through his research one day. Souji is the ancestor of the Sword Saint. Maybe if I ask Sword Saint Kureha, whom I healed, she’ll let me look through the documents. I’ll ask her that if I see her again.
“Now, I should concentrate on cooking.”
I distracted myself a little. I should think about tonight’s dinner rather than the far future.
I cut up the rabbit’s meat and decided to use the best part, the thigh, for dinner. I’ll cut up the rest and keep it as jerky on stock. I want to keep a good stock of preserved food, and I’ll also let our new companion eat this to increase her talent values.
I cut the meat into thin slices, put salt on it and fry it. At the same time, I bring out our preserved bread and cut it in half. I put in the nicely grilled meat with some tomatoes and cheese.
It’s a simple dish, but it’s tasty. A one-horned rabbit thigh sandwich. I also made an impromptu tea by boiling some medicinal herbs.
It’s quite a good menu for people who are traveling.
“Freia, shall we eat?”
I smile at her. Freia was watching the whole cooking process with a blank face.
“It’s amazing. Keyaruga-sama is very skilled.”
“Well, it’s just a matter of getting used to it.”
“It looks delicious even though it’s monster meat.”
“It actually tastes good if you just eat it, you know.”
“But the miasma…”
“Trust me. I already removed the miasma.”
I give Freia a hot rabbit thigh sandwich. She’s no longer princess Flare, but rather Freia, my trusted servant. I’ll be in trouble later if I don’t raise her status.
Freia timidly accepts the sandwich. The aroma from the savory meat, the acidity of the tomatoes and the attraction of the melted cheese make Freia’s stomach rumble. That’s just what happens when you smell good food after getting tired from walking for so long.
She stares at the sandwich, blushing. Her expression was full of anticipation. It seems her hunger won over her fear of the monster meat.
“Um, Keyaruga-sama, do you have a knife and fork?”
Come to think of it, Freia used to be a princess. She probably has no concept of eating with her bare hands.
“This is how you eat it.”
It’s too much trouble to explain, so it’s easier to demonstrate. I bite into the hot sandwich.
The juices from the juicy thigh meat overflow into my mouth. The acidity of the tomatoes accentuated the meat’s flavor. The bread had been quite hard to act as preserved food, but the meat’s juices and cheese made it quite nice to eat.
Put simply, it’s delicious.
“You eat it in such a vulgar-looking way, but it looks so delicious.”
Saying this, Freia reservedly bites into the hot sandwich. Her eyes shine as she munches on it. And then…
“Delicious!”
She says with a face brimming with joy.
“I didn’t know monsters taste so good, and my stomach isn’t upset either. Let’s eat this all the time from now on!”
Freia ate the hot sandwich little by little like a small animal, albeit a hungry one.
“As long as you like it.”
“I didn’t know it was possible to make something so delicious with such ingredients.”
“Well, I can’t make anything elaborate, but I can do the minimum to make sure we’ll have a comfortable trip.”
“That’s still plenty, it’s amazing. To think I even forgot Keyaruga-sama’s amazing cooking skills, I’m no good as your servant. I hope I can get my memories back soon.”
Freia looked sad for a moment, but then she regained her composure and continued eating. She really seems to enjoy it. It made me a bit happy.
When she finally finished eating, I figured I should give her some advice.
“I agree that the monsters are delicious, but don’t eat any but the ones I cook for you. The miasma will kill you.”
Removing the miasma is something impossible to do if you don’t know how. It’s a complicated technique that you won’t just happen to figure out. And even if you did know how, the magic used is hard to cast. All of that explains why this method isn’t widely known.
At the very least, I would be too afraid to eat monster meat that was processed by someone else. Freia is currently drinking her after meal tea.
I gave her that little warning on the off chance that she ever thought of hunting a monster for her to eat on her own. But well, if I tell her this much, I’m sure she won’t do anything strange.
Part 2
We spent the night in the forest. I slept while being partially awake and alert.
Even though the monster repelling incense I bought is still burning, the forest at night is still fearsome. There’s all kinds of beasts and monsters. This resting while being on guard is one of the techniques that don’t rely on skills I got through Imitation Heal.
I looked at Freia, who was sleeping beside me. She seems to be sleeping comfortably without a care in the world. She must have been tired from the unusual exercise. It’s a little cute even.
Today as well I enjoyed Freia’s body before she fell asleep. Since her memories are gone, she thinks of me as her beloved man and accepts my body into hers.
“I have to make sure I don’t become emotionally attached.”
Seeing Flare, whose memories have been erased, become the truly innocent Freia makes my heart flutter. I’m afraid my hatred might fade.
I chose to not kill princess Flare but to use her as Freia for multiple reasons.
First, her skills as the Magic Hero are excellent. She also has the ability to double the experience earned in the party she’s at, and that skill is stacked with my own.
Besides, it’s more humiliating to use her than to just kill her.
So I’m just using princess Flare to become stronger and to get revenge. So I’ll even use her as a shield if I need to. I’ll use her until the very last moment and then, when she’s as good as tattered rags, I’ll throw her away. It’s not that I hesitated to kill her.
This is only the start of my revenge. My revenge is not over. There’s still the Sword Hero and the Gun Hero left.
Maybe they could also have their uses, but I think I’ll just kill them. I don’t want to bother my head with unnecessary things anymore.
Part 3
The next morning, we removed our camp and left.
For breakfast, we had soup made with the leftover meat from yesterday.
Before we left, I checked our status. The factor we took in from the monster yesterday had adapted to our bodies. The talent values for mine and Freia’s physical attack rose up by 2.
That brought my physical attack from 130 to 132, and Freia’s from 70 to 72.
It might not seem like a big change, but the more it accumulates the bigger the difference becomes.
But taking in any more of the one-horned rabbit’s factor is meaningless. Only new monsters with other types of factors will make us stronger little by little.
The next day, we progressed faster than I imagined. It’s due to Freia being more used to physical labor. This allowed her to show the real power of her high status and we were able to reach Ranalitta before the sun had completely set.
We were able to easily enter Ranalitta without any identification, as we’d need in any other city.
As we walked into town, a carriage suddenly came up behind us at high speeds. It was quite dangerous, but here in Ranalitta it’s a common sight. I looked at the back of the carriage and saw a cage there.
In that cage, cat-eared girls were chained together and crying as they held the bars with both hands. They must have been kidnapped from some demi-human village to be sold as slaves.
Immediately, I was almost overwhelmed by the chaotic liveness of the city.
Instead of the orderly grid-like townscape of the capital, these buildings are clustered, with each owner thinking only of their own convenience. This city never sleeps, with constant voices trying to attract customers and angry shouts, even though it’s already night.
Ranalitta has many names. Such as the Dark City, where many crimes occur and illegal dealings take place.
It’s a city where the law is vague, so the only person who will look out for you is yourself, conflict is always raging. The City of the Strong.
Because of this, money flows more actively than any other city and wealthy people are born every day. The City of Gold.
Here, the price of life is cheap. And, if you’re not careful, someone’s going to take yours or make you pay for it. To be the one that takes, you need to be strong and smart. I will be the one who takes.
Now then, after I find an inn, I should immediately go buy a slave. I’ll need a good shield.

Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 15 – The Healer Saves The City?
Part 1
After we arrived in Ranalitta, Freia and I looked for a place to stay.
Ranalitta has many visitors, ranging from adventurers, criminals and immigrants from poor villages. There’s also the businessman who come here to buy slaves and other goods.
There are enough places to house all these people. There are inns aimed at the poor people and inns aimed at the wealthy people. Thinking of the money in my wallet, it would be better to stay in a cheaper inn, but that’s not actually a good idea.
The cheap inns in this city are scarier than the forest at night. It’s basically asking to be stripped of everything you have. Either the other guests or the owner themselves might steal from you.
Freia and I are going to the middle section of the city. Ranalitta is basically divided into three sections.
The poor section, where the poor, riffraff and criminals live. It’s unsafe and full of illegal things. The sanitation is also not good.
The middle section, where those with a certain amount of income live. The minimum level of security and sanitation is secured.
Then there’s the wealthy section, where the aristocrats and rich people gather. The streets are beautiful and safe, thanks to their large donations.
I decided to stay at a reasonably expensive inn in the middle section because I could afford it with the money I had and it offered good security.
“Keyaruga-sama, I can’t wait to sleep in a soft futon. I haven’t been sleeping well in the sleeping bag.”
“It is hard to rest and relieve fatigue with a sleeping bag.”
Freia’s words make me laugh. I can’t believe she says she’s having trouble sleeping when she immediately sleeps due to fatigue. The former princess is still not used to traveling. Today, let’s wash ourselves with warm water and sleep on a soft futon.
Part 2
The next morning, we were able to relieve a lot of our fatigue due to staying at a decent inn with nice accommodation. The rate was a little pricey, but there’s no substituting for security.
Freia and I are heading to the poor section in order to sell medicine. Slaves are expensive, so we had to make money to buy one.
Until last night, I was wondering what kind of potion to make. Before we arrived, I had been gathering wild plants and mushrooms with medicinal value from everywhere we went, but I hadn’t made them into potions yet. There’s no point in making a potion I can’t sell.
But now I know what I have to make, and it’ll definitely sell well. I think back to the inn last night.
Even though we were in the middle section, it was worth choosing a higher-price inn. The dinner was included and the food wasn’t bad. But there was one fatal flaw.
“Keyaruga-sama, why did you say we shouldn’t drink the water? I’m glad you ordered a good drink, but I’m worried about our expenses.”
With good timing, Freia asked me about the fatal flaw, so I decided to explain it to her.
“My eye is special and I can see bad things. The water is poisoned. I was curious, so I did some research and found out that the city’s water supply is contaminated. There must be quite a few poisoned monster corpses sinking upstream. The poison has been diluted, but I wonder if it could cause illness if it accumulates in the body to some degree.”
I felt a strange taste in the water, so I decided to check everything we were served with my Jade Eye. At first, I thought the owner had tried to give us a sleeping drug to give us the city’s usual welcome and take everything we had during the night, but the poison is of monster origin and has no immediate effect.
So I told Freia to not drink any of the water and ordered some wine for us to drink. After that, we checked the water in the well and I was able to guess the cause.
“Err, if the water is polluted, then wasn’t the meal dangerous as well? Was it fine?”
“That was fine. The poison is sensitive to heat, so it’s fine as long as you cook it. And it’s also very diluted, so it won’t cause any trouble unless you consume it a lot. And the contamination of the water supply should be cleared in about a month, unless another monster happens to die there.”
Well, it doesn’t matter anyway. The poison isn’t fatal, and there are probably no long-term side-effects.
“Phew, what a relief. We shouldn’t drink any water that hasn’t been heated while we’re in town.”
“It’s no big deal even if you get it. At most, you’d spend two months in bed with a high fever, and you’d feel a constant stabbing pain in your body.”
“Isn’t that a really big deal?!”
Freia is making a fuss. It’s not that easy to take in so much poison from monsters. Just by looking at the people walking around outside, you can see many of them are starting to show mild symptoms. In a week, there will probably be a good number of seriously ill people. Probably a few hundreds or thousands.
“I thought that a lot of people in this city looked sick, but could it be?”
“Yeah, there’s a number of people suffering the initial symptoms, but considering the water source itself is poisoned, it’s only to be expected.”
“That’s really bad, isn’t it?!”
Bad? No, it’s an opportunity. I can make a lot of money with this.
I’m very lucky. Come to think of it, in the first world, I heard there was an epidemic in Ranalitta. This must be it.
“Keyaruga-sama, your face says you’re thinking of something evil.”
“I wasn’t thinking anything evil. Being here at this timing, I was thinking of a way to save everyone. That’s why I was smiling.”
After I said that, Freia seemed to guess my intention.
“Could it be that the potion Keyaruga-sama makes can save them?”
“Yeah, I think I can do it.”
I drank the water from a bottle I asked from the innkeeper before we left. I pour it all down my throat.
“Keyaruga-sama, why are you drinking the water?!”
“It’s fine, I can cure myself. And I’ll need the ingredients to cure the disease.”
“Ingredients?”
“My blood. I’ll make antibodies by drinking the poison. Then, I’ll make a potion using the antibodies in my blood as a base. That’s the quickest way.”
The Jade Eye, alchemy magic and Heal. It’s something that can only be done by combining those three things.
The cause of the strange disease assaulting the town is unknown. No cure has been found and the number of infected people is high. I confirmed that by looking at the people in the inn’s bar last night. There’s no way this potion won’t sell.
I concentrate on my body, strengthening my immune system. One after another, antibodies are produced in my body, and I accelerate that with Transformation Heal. I extract those with alchemy magic, and also I extract the active ingredients from the medicinal plants that I have on my hand. Then, I synthesize it. I put the liquid I just made into the flash I just emptied.
With this, the potion is completed. On the way, I brought about 30 flasks and made about as much as an adult male would need to drink.
“It’s amazing, Keyaruga-sama. With this, you can cure the illness and save the city!”
“I don’t plan on becoming a hero, and I don’t plan to name myself as the maker of this potion either. But I will use this medicine as much as I can.”
“No way, if Keyaruga-sama says you made the medicine that saved the city, you’ll be praised and you can get money and honor… You’re so humble, Keyaruga-sama.”
I chuckle. I won’t deny it because it’s too much trouble, but Freia is making a big mistake. I’m only thinking of myself 100% of the time.
Selling medicine for an unknown disease that is spreading to everyone and no one knows how to cure is just a lump of profit. As long as we’re the only ones who can sell it, we could make a lot of money. But that would also bring a lot of danger.
The people with money and power will do whatever they can to capture the person making the potions so they can have that monopoly for themselves. The people without money and power are also dangerous, since they’ll risk anything to try and get a cure for themselves or a loved one, even if they have to kill me for it.
No matter how many lives I have it’ll never be enough.
I can’t just go to the streets and shout “I developed a cure for a strange disease. But it!” I would be ruined in less than a day.
Convenient power is a double-edged sword, I learned that the hard way in the first world.
In a business that deals with life, you risk your own life. You have to be very careful on how you choose to sell your products. So I thought of a way to make it easy, safe and profitable.
Now then, let’s hurry to the poor section. I have to make a lot of money so I can buy a slave soon.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 16 – The Healer Does Business
Part 1
We enter the poor section. The streets have changed drastically and even the smell of something rotting hits my nose.
Our goal is the shop that sells illegal goods. Illegal goods are dealt with in the poor section. Even here in the poor section, we can find people with money and the intermediaries used to deliver the illegal goods to the rich.
“Freia, be careful, you never know when you might get attacked here. Here you’re just an attractive commodity. Human slavery may be illegal, but the people here don’t exactly care.”
Freia is an exceptionally beautiful girl. Even if she’s wearing a traveling outfit designed for practicality only, there’s no hiding her beauty. I’ve been putting my attention to the sword hanging from my waist since earlier. It’s good manners when walking around here.
“Yes, Keyaruga-sama. I, Freia, won’t let myself fall behind just any random person.”
Freia proudly hits her chest with full confidence. At her level, she shouldn’t have any problem unless it’s an exceptionally strong opponent. But that’s only if she can face them head-on.
With my advice over, we continued walking toward our destination.
But I immediately stopped. I pulled out my sword, still on its sheath, from the latch. From its position from my waist, I trusted my sheathed sword at Freia’s face.
“Hii!”
Freia screams as she sees the sheathed sword approaching. It passed right beside her face and hit some skinny guy right between the brows.
“Gyaaa! Ouch, it hurts!”
He had a cloth on his hand that reeked of drugs. It was clear what he planned to do.
“Freia, be more careful next time. I’ll train you in close-quarters combat. You won’t be able to get skills since you’re a Magician, but you should still know minimum self-defense. At least enough to buy time until the vanguard can save you.”
“… I understand. To think someone could get behind me so easily. Please teach me close-quarters combat, Keyaruga-sama.”
This time’s opponent was a profissional and he seemed quite used to it, so it couldn’t be helped that Freia didn’t notice him, even more so considering she’s a novice at everything that’s not magic. I’m sure he’s one of the guys who kidnap rich people who came to buy slaves.
Freia got scared and held onto my sleeve. It’s a bit of a nuisance, but it should be fine if it’s just for today. I continue walking while smiling at her.
Part 2
Freia and I reached our destination, but we just kept watching the people moving about.
I’m using my Jade Eye to try and find the right guy since a while ago. At the same time as I did that, I kept my ears peeled and shooed away people who were making passes at Freia.
Apparently, the strange disease is a hot topic for conversation here in the poor section. This makes it easier to do business. Finally, I found the people I’ve been looking for.
The guy enters a store that deals with illegal goods right in front of me. He has an escort and it looks like he has quite a lot of influence.
That merchant has a distinctive air around him, so I can tell what kind of person he is right away.
Also, he’s wearing a certain perfume that’s popular among the wealthy. He shouldn’t have such a thing on him if he didn’t deal with rich people. Since he came to buy illegal goods, I can assume he is an intermediary who sells his stuff to the wealthy.
And both him and his escort are mildly ill. I didn’t think I’d find such a perfect target so quickly.
My luck is good. Must be because of my constant good actions.
Part 3
Around the time I finished discussing the business plan with Freia, the merchant and his escort came out of the store. Freia appeared in front of them and told them what I taught her before.
“Fine looking uncle over there, I have a good story for you.”
The merchant’s escort stopped for a second. He was admiring Freia’s beauty.
That’s the reason why I had Freia go out and talk to them. If it was me, they would have just ignored me and continued walking and I would have lost my chance to discuss business. But if it’s a beautiful girl like Freia, they’ll stop and listen.
“What a beautiful girl. Your skin is glossy and your manners are elegant. Could you be the daughter of some noble?”
I’m surprised. He must be a good merchant. Even though she’s dressed like that, he was able to see right through her.
Freia smiled, neither confirming nor denying what he said.
“I’ve come to bring you a get rich quick scheme.”
“That’s interesting. I thought you were just a child that decided to come play with fire and wanted to ask me for money, but… I didn’t realize it was a business deal. What’s your story?”
The merchant looks at Freia and I with warm eyes. He probably thinks we’re just children playing about, but because the possibility of her being a noble’s daughter seems high, he can’t simply reject us. That’s probably what he’s thinking.
“Let’s move somewhere else, since we’re standing out here.”
“Haha, you’re quite earnest. But that’s fine. Let’s go to my favorite shop. I’ll hear you out there.”
And so the four of us moved. The merchant showed us to a store that looked like it belonged to the poor section, but the interior was well cleaned. He ordered tea for all of us, saying it was his treat.
Freia was looking at me. Thanks to her, we were able to start the negotiations. Now it’s my turn, so I’ll nail him hard from the start.
“Our offer is to sell you, and only to you, a potion that can cure the strange illness that’s spreading throughout the city. A merchant of your caliber surely understands what that means.”
The moment he hears this, the merchant’s color changes. But then he immediately bursts out laughing.
“Oh that’s just great. So a child like you has the cure even all the best doctors and Healers in the town can’t find. It’s like a bad joke.”
Freia and I have only just turned 14, so we probably look like children in his eyes. But that’s still within expectations.
“It’s understandable that you don’t believe us, but it’s the truth. We are from the west, and over there, we have taken a different approach to pharmacy compared to here. Because of that, I was able to make the medicine for this illness.”
Then, I lined up a small batch of potions I had in my pocket.
“Fumu, so that’s the medicine. But how do I know it’s real?”
“Why not try it yourself? You and your escort are going through the first symptoms of the illness, right? In the near future, you’ll collapse with a high fever and groan with pain all over your body.”
I say that like it’s nothing while smiling at him. The merchant seems frightened.
“I’m… not ill.”
“You are, and you know it. Your body feels strangely sluggish. You occasionally feel pain on your feet’s pinky. Only the right side of your body is cold. These are all the symptoms of the strange disease. Everyone had it before they collapsed. Surely a merchant with good ears such as yourself knows this.”
He was at a loss for words. It’s not that he wasn’t aware of it, it’s that he didn’t want to admit it.
“If your medicine is real I’d pay any amount of money for it. I’ll ask just for reference, how much do you want?”
He didn’t exactly believe me, but he must be grasping at straws. The terminal symptoms of this disease are disastrous. Once you see it, you know you don’t want to end up like that.
“You’re quick, but let’s leave the price negotiation for after. First, I’ll give you these two bottles as a sign of trust. Go on, try them.”
I gave two bottles to the merchant, who swallowed his saliva in anticipation.
The reason why I gave him two bottles is so that he can have the escort drink it first. There’s no way you just swallow a medicine given by some random person. He can make sure the potion works by giving it to his escort.
Realizing my intentions, the merchant gives a bottle to his escort. His face that was losing its color regained its vitality. He looks absentminded for a few minutes, until he finally raises a surprised voice.
“My body feels light and my sluggishness is gone. When did I last feel as good as this?!”
The potion is quite fast acting. I also added this dramatic effect to make the person suddenly feel energetic. It gave the illusion of sudden improvement.
The merchant, seeing his escort much better, drinks his own potion. He looks up at the ceiling and closes his eyes. When the potion took effect, he suddenly opened his eyes and mouth.
“Hou, I understand. This medicine certainly is the real deal. We were in the early stages of the disease, but does it also work on those who are completely ill?”
“Yes, I guarantee it. … Now then, since you’ve confirmed the effects of the medicine, let’s go back to the beginning. I plan to sell this medicine only to you.”
I put an emphasis on the “only to you” part. The merchant gulps down his saliva. By now, he’s probably of all the money he can get as well as all the power he’ll have depending on who he sells this to and how he negotiates it.
“The potion is good, but are you willing to sell the recipe as well?”
I expected that. Having the means to make the product is better than just having the finished product.
“I can’t do that, it’s a family secret. It also requires high-level and specialized skills and magic in order to produce it, and the ingredients aren’t available in this country. Even if you got the recipe, you wouldn’t be able to reproduce it.”
The first half is a complete lie, but the second half is true. I made the potions with my antibodies, but ordinary people can’t make antibodies capable of fighting off monster poison. And it’s impossible to make the potion without the use of alchemy, which only people with the Alchemist class can use.
The merchant looks to his escort. I expected that to happen, so let’s nail him down first.
“You shouldn’t do that, I’m stronger than him. You’ll just end up ruining our business meeting. Besides, I can’t make the medicine if I don’t go out to get the ingredients.”
“Hahaha, what do you mean by ‘that’?”
The merchant gives me a forced smile along with a barefaced lie.
“Well, I’m happy if it’s an unnecessary concern. Let’s start the negotiations. I have 28 potions on me.”
“May I ask how much would they cost?”
“One gold coin each.”
A gold coin is the amount someone who works the whole day makes in a month. It’s expensive for a single potion, but…
The merchant smiles as if he’s ridiculing me. Well, it’s only normal. It’s too little for such a good potion. If you negotiate it right, you can get a digit or two more out of each one.
“Fine, I’ll buy it all. But this much is not enough. Can you make more? I’ll take the ones you have right now, but how long would it take to make more?”
“2 days. Give me 2 days and I’ll prepare more. How about we meet here again in the evening in 2 days?”
“I’m looking forward to it. I’ll be sure to bring a bag filled with gold coins.”
The merchant smiles happily. Let me tell him one last important thing.
“By the way, this time, I accepted a single gold coin for each, but next time it won’t be the same prince. This was just an investment to build a relationship of trust.”
The merchant’s smile disappears. He probably thought he was going to buy it from me for a gold coin each the second time as well.
“How much would it be then?”
“I’ll let you decide. But make sure to give me half of the profit you gain from selling it. If you lie to me, I’ll never sell it to you again and I’ll just pick someone else to do business with.”
The merchant likely has a lot of conflict going on in his mind.
On one hand, it’s easy to fake the amount of profit, but if he’s found out, this method of surely making a lot of money will vanish from his sight. To tell the truth, he can still make a huge amount of money even if his profit is halved.
He’s also probably wondering if I really would sell it to some other merchant, or if he could just capture me at the next meeting. His worries are endless.
“Well then, I look forward to seeing you again.”
I stand up to leave. I have nothing more to say.
The merchant gives us his parting words with still a lot of thoughts in his head.
Part 4
After parting with the merchant, I started heading towards the shop from before.
“Keyaruga-sama, why did you leave your potions to that man instead of selling them yourself? Wouldn’t you make a higher profit if you sold it yourself?”
Freia asked with a curious look on her face.
“We are on a journey to save the world, so we don’t have time to tend to a shop. It’s better to leave these things to a professional merchant.”
“I see. As expected of Keyaruga-sama. You really don’t have any greed, do you?”
I told her a reason that seemed good, but the number one reason is for safety. The more people know I can make potions, the more dangerous it becomes. I prefer the current situation where only one person knows I can make potions. The merchant will try to hide my existence so he can monopolize the medicine.
Besides, I don’t have connections to sell the medicine safely. I need contacts in order to sell a small amount of potions for a high price. This merchant even has connections to people who deal with illegal goods. He’ll sell it to the right people for the right price, and he’ll do so with secrecy and security.
It’s something I’d never be able to do. Considering all the trouble, it’s best to just leave it to the merchant.
There’s also the possibility that the merchant will get greedy and try to capture me. But, even if that happens, a merchant can only gather so many soldiers. It’s much easier than dealing with every single person in town.
But, since I want to avoid any sort of trouble, I’ll skip our second meeting if I sense anything wrong with the meeting place.
“Now then, we’re finally at the shop from before.”
“Ah, now that you mention it, I forgot to ask what we’re going to buy. What are we buying?”
“A slave.”
I answer with a smile. I have on my hands the gold coins I earned just a few minutes ago. This is more than what a normal worker would get in two years. It’s a fair price for a slave.
Now then, let’s use the Jade Eye in order to find the best slave in the store and buy her. I’ll buy a woman with high talent values. As long as it’s a woman, the level cap is no problem.
I entered the store with high expectations.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 17 – The Healer Buys A Slave
Part 1
Freia asks me what we’re going to buy in a store in the poor section. There’s no need to hide it, so I honestly told her I planned to buy a slave, and that made Freia frown.
“… A slave?”
“Freia, you don’t like it?”
“I feel sorry for them. To have their liberty be taken away and forced to obey others’ orders.”
I burst out in laughter after hearing that. Even if she’s lost her memories, to think her of all people would say something like that.
“You’re right. It’s very sad for the slaves who are left unsold or who are bought by a strange customer. But I’m kind, the slave I buy will be happier than any other. In a way, you could even say I’m helping them.”
“That’s true. But why a slave? Isn’t an adventurer better at fighting than a slave?”
I shook my head at Freia’s words. Recruiting an adventurer is something only someone who’s completely out of their mind would do.
“Unlike Freia, who loves me and follows my orders, adventurers act thinking only of themselves. You can never be sure when they’ll decide to leave, and the money needed to pay them is high. Besides, I’m not focusing on the current strength, but on the quality. It’s better to pick an obedient slave with a promising future.”
People don’t act to benefit others. They act on their own convenience. That’s something that’s impossible to stop.
The only way to stop that would be to hypnotize them or erase their memories like I did with Freia, but I have established a rule for myself that I won’t do anything unreasonable to someone who’s not a target of my revenge.
That’s why my only choice is to pick a slave who’ll obey me. In addition, demi-humans usually have higher talent values than humans.
The value depends on the race, but the average total talent value for demi-humans is in the 400s, while humans are in the 300s. But demi-humans usually have a lower level cap than humans, so usually humans can be stronger when compared at their utmost limit.
“I understand. It’s something necessary for Keyaruga-sama’s world-saving journey. I’ll do my best to help pick a good slave.”
Freia tightly closes her hands into a fist. She’s been so obedient lately that it’s sickening. She messes with me with that voice and attitude. It would be troublesome if she were cheeky, but this is also complicated.
Right now, when she has basically no experiences to define her personality, you could call it Freia’s most pure state. Is this the real true face of princess Flare?
No, that can’t be true. Even now, she’s probably still trying to trick me by only showing her good side. There’s no changing the fact that I’ll use her until she breaks.
Well then, let’s get this shopping done already.
Part 2
I was in a store in the poor section that’s well known for dealing with things behind the scenes.
This store is spacious and beautifully decorated for this section of the city. I suppose it’s only right, since it deals with high-class customers.
There’s also a large number of bodyguards, probably because the merchandise is expensive, but it’s also a way to prevent the slaves from escaping. Here, they take the captive demi-humans and train them to be slaves, there would be those who would try to escape, so the number of guards is justified.
“Welcome, dear customers. What are you looking for today?”
An elderly employee called out to me. He’s giving me a smile, but he’s probably wondering if I’m here just to window shop.
“I’m here to go to the basement.”
The first floor of this shop is filled with stolen goods, illegal drugs and magic tools made by prohibited methods. The slaves are left in the basement. My goal is to go there.
“Forgive my rudeness dear customer, but… how much do you have on hand?”
I silently hand him a small bag of money. Inside were a total of 32 gold coins, as well as a few copper and silver ones, it’s the majority of my fortune. I added 4 gold coins I had for traveling expenses to the 28 I earned earlier.
“I beg your pardon. Please, come this way.”
The price of a slave is usually between 20 to 30 gold coins. It would be slightly higher if they come with an Appraisal. With what I have on hand, there shouldn’t be any problems.
Slaves are convenient, but they’re expensive, considering the price of one is the amount a normal worker makes in 2 years. That’s why slave hunters exist. To Them, demi-humans are only some good prey.
Now then, I hope there are some good slaves waiting for me…
Part 3
We head down into the basement.
Both sides of the wall have been made into cages, inside, demi-humans of various species are chained together. Some are looking at us with resentful eyes. Others are looking with fear.
Lots of incenses were being constantly burned to disguise the smell of the demi-humans.
Stores like this are careful with hygiene in order to maintain the value of their products. But incontinence due to fear or vomiting because of the sudden stress and change of environment can happen at any time. Well, that’s no real wonder.
In order to keep the customers comfortable, they use more fragrant incenses. … But that only makes the demi-humans who are sensitive to smell even more stressed.
“Does our dear customer know how to use magic? If so, we will prioritize the ones that have revealed their True Name for you.”
“I can use magic, but I want to see all the demi-humans. There’s no need to prioritize anyone.”
I shook my head at the elderly employee. A True Name is something every living thing apart from humans have. It’s a name engraved on their very soul.
Humans developed a way to use the True Name for slavery magic. As long as you know their True Name, you can make demi-humans do whatever you want. It’s one of the reasons why humans were able to win a war against the demi-humans.
Demi-humans try to keep their True Name hidden, but the slaves that are easier to be used are more easily sold. So the slavers put the demi-humans through a lot of torture to get their True Name out.
The elderly employee and I walk slowly while looking through the demi-humans.
“What do you think, dear customer? Have you seen anything you like? Today’s recommendations are a young man from the White Tiger race, a boy from the Sand Dog race, and a woman from the Moon Cat race. The White Tigers are proud of their strength, and the Sand Dogs are strong and won’t break even if you use them mercilessly. The Moon Cats are the best companions for the night.”
I was listening to his explanations while using my Jade Eye to look at the status and talents of the demi-human slaves.
We’ve finished circling the room. This means I’ve seen all the slaves in the shop.
“There’s nothing that really catches my eye.”
Among the demi-human men, there was one who had his status vanguard oriented and his total talent values were in the high 400s. But, because he’s a man, it would make it extremely difficult for me to use my Hero skill to increase his level cap.
It’s not necessary to use semen, but the probability drops a lot if not. The probability of a level cap increase is of 100% with highly concentrated semen. But if it’s blood, the probability is only 1 in every 100 times.
It is possible to give semen to a man, but I have no intention of doing it. I would be forced to consider it if his talent values were overwhelmingly high, but…
“It’s a shame that no demi-human was able to pass your judgment. Are you perhaps looking for a sex slave? Maybe a slave for manual labor? Or maybe a combat slave?”
“A combat slave.”
When I said that, the man took me to the male slave I was thinking of just now. He’s a big man of the White Tiger race. The employee was trying to sell him to me as if he was his PR man.
But unfortunately, I don’t need him. I should go look in another store.
No, wait, there’s something wrong.
“Where are you keeping the shop’s sick demi-humans?”
With the disease spreading that much in town, there’s no way the demi-humans of this shop are safe. The ones that have gotten ill are probably being isolated so the disease doesn’t spread to the other slaves.
“We don’t want anything to happen to our esteemed customers or our other products, so we’re keeping the damaged goods in quarantine.”
“Can I see them as well?”
I can cure the disease, so there’s no problem if they are “damaged goods”.
“… I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s not very pleasant.”
From what the employee is saying, I can already imagine the situation these demi-humans are put in. They’re probably receiving very harsh treatment.
“Please, I want to see as many demi-humans as possible.”
I managed to persuade the reluctant employee, and so we stepped into the quarantine area.
Part 4
I frowned as soon as I entered the isolated area. It was just terrible.
To start off, various things are smeared all over the place and the smell is very strong.
I saw several demi-humans who were in the terminal stages of the mysterious disease. They were screaming in agony with pain all over their bodies.
Not only that, there were various demi-humans who were badly injured, clearly not from the disease. Maybe they resisted and didn’t tell their True Name even at the very end.
“I’m sorry for this, dear customer. There is a room that’s a bit better further back. Let’s start looking from there.”
“I understand.”
He said that the back room is a bit better. It’s probably for the demi-humans who they judged could regain their commercial value with some rehabilitation or medical treatment.
On the other hand, this room is for those they have already given up on making into products.
I wonder just how far humans can go in their cruelty. I thought about that as I looked at the demi-humans who were suffering in despair.
Part 5
The room I was guided to was, as expected, better than the previous one. There’s at least the minimum needed for treating illness and wounds.
But still, there was no demi-human who caught my eye. I told that to the employee and we returned to the room with the slaves that they planned to dispose of.
There were about 10 people in this room. All of them were in a miserable state. But none of them had what I was looking for.
I looked at the last one. When I thought that, my eyes were caught by a girl. She was just sitting there quietly. She was from the Ice Wolf race.
Everything about her was white, her hair, her skin, her wolf ears, her tail.
She was probably one or two years younger than me. She was weak and hurt, but still beautiful.
Surprisingly, her symptoms from the mysterious disease are quite severe. She’s enduring the pain that can make a grown man cry while staring at us.
Unconsciously, my feet move in her direction.
“She’s no good, dear customer. We planned to sell her at a high price because she’s strong, but she has already hit her level limit. We used an Appraisal on her. It was our first time seeing a level limit of only 7.”
Even if you don’t know a person’s level limit, an Appraisal can still show that they’ve hit their limit with a ☆ next to the level.
A level limit of 7 is low even by demi-human standards. But it’s no problem for me. Especially since she’s a beautiful girl.
“In the first place, she has a terrible temper. No matter what we did to her, she wouldn’t say her True Name, she was useless in battle, and she doesn’t obey orders so she can’t be sold as a slave. We tried to at least make her able to entertain a man, but she broke her trainer’s crotch with a kick.”
I was stunned for a second and then laughed. She’s a strong minded-girl. Around her neck is a slave collar.
This is a restraint developed to keep demi-humans captive. It has the effect of diffusing the collected magic power, making the wearer feel tired and unable to move properly.
In addition, it’s a nasty thing that causes extreme pain if the wearer tries to harm a human.
It takes more than ordinary mental strength to endure the pain of this mysterious illness while being subjected to this. She has a strong heart. It’ll be difficult to handle, but useful once I learn how to use her.
But above all, what I found most interesting was the way she looked at me and the employee. Those blue eyes look like beautiful jewels, but inside them was a deep resentment darker than the depths of hell. There’s something she hates, and she hates it a lot.
Ah, I see. I sympathize with her. She’s the same as me.
I want her. I must have her.
As the employee and I approach her, she springs out and extends her hand towards us. But her collar has a chain, so we’re just barely out of reach.
She tried to hold back until we were just in reach. She’s strong and smart. I’m liking her even more.
“Shut!”
The employee shouts. The next moment, the slave collar snaps itself violently and the Ice Wolf girl falls over.
The employee was breathing hard, then he kicked the Ice Wolf girl again and again.
“You! You! Even though we paid a lot of money to get you since you’re from the rare Ice Wolf race! Your level limit is shit! You won’t do what you’re told! And now you’re about to die from this illness! We had a huge loss because of you! Die! Just die already!”
There was no pain or fear in the girl’s eyes. Only hatred. It’s only obvious, but the pain from the strange disease is much greater than that of the man’s kicks.
I put power into my Jade Eye.

Although she only seems to be about 12 or 13 years old, demi-humans reach adulthood early, so she’s already awakened to her class.
But still… she’s strong. She’s a high speed vanguard, but skilled in magic as well. The 400s are the average total talent value for demi-humans, but something in the 500s is very good. And having a special class like Ice Wolf Warrior isn’t bad either. I can compensate for her fatally low level limit.
“I would appreciate it if you stopped hurting her. She’s mine.”
I grab the shoulder of the employee who was hitting and cursing the Ice Wolf girl to stop his assault.
“Are you sane? It’s impossible to make this girl obey. And she’s infected with the mysterious disease as well.”
“It’s fine as long as I pay, isn’t it?”
“Well, we’re fine with that. But we won’t accept any returns.”
“I won’t be returning her. I could even write a contract if you want.”
There’s no way I would ever return this girl, because she’s like me. Just like me, she has a deep bottomless hatred inside her.
Until now, this girl wouldn’t say her True Name no matter what kind of torture she faced. But she’ll probably give me her True Name if I offer her the chance to take revenge. She absolutely can’t win against the temptation to take revenge.
So I approach the Ice Wolf girl to whisper in her ear, so close that the employee can’t hear me.
“I’ll buy you. If you follow me, I’ll let you take your revenge. You hate them, don’t you? So shut up and follow me.”
The girl looked at me and then smiled slightly. Then, she lost consciousness.
Until now, she has endured pain beyond any reasonable limit. The pain of this strange disease, the agony of the high fever, the slave collar that tightens around her neck.
The tension was broken, so she fell unconscious.
Part 6
After that, I paid the gold and left the store.
Originally, she was a very expensive slave. There were too many positives for her. Being a beautiful virgin girl from the rare Ice Wolf race, and also powerful to boot. And she also came with an Appraisal.
A slave like her would normally cost around 50 gold coins. However, because she was “damaged goods” and hasn’t been properly educated as a slave, I was told that 20 gold coins, which is below the market value, would be fine.
The employee reminded me that, as long as her True Name wasn’t known, the slave collar around her neck would be the only chain that binds her. But I don’t need that for her. I have a better chain: revenge.
I return to the inn, carrying the Ice Wolf girl like a princess.
Well, I got a good deal out of this. She will work as a splendid meat shield with good abilities, and I am also interested in other peoples’ revenges.
What will she look like when she finally kills the person she hates so much, just as she wants to do? I want to see it.
She will be my precious pawn. Once I heal her and restore her strength, I will offer her a deal with the devil to get her True Name. I’ll be gentle and help her get her revenge.
Such unconcealed intense hatred, this is going to be fun. Let’s see what’s going to come up. I’m looking forward to it.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 18 – The Healer Conforts The Girl
Part 1
We returned to the inn after purchasing my ideal slave.
The girl from the Ice Wolf race I bought has a high total talent value and a perfect distribution. I can tweak my own talent values’ distribution, but I can’t do it to others, so this is a great help for me.
In addition, she has excellent skills and abilities, and she’s hiding the best talent possible.
The fact that she’s a beautiful girl is also important. It makes the matter of increasing her level limit all the easier. Men were out of the question from the start, but I would also hesitate a bit if it was an ugly girl.
I laid her on the bed and took off her clothes. I’m not going to attack her yet, I’m just going to take care of her.
I wiped her body using hot water and a cloth I had prepared. She must not have had the opportunity to clean herself properly in the last few days. The cloth quickly becomes darker and darker.
It also seems like she wasn’t able to eat anything nutritious, since she’s very skinny. I have to feed her something good. If it continues like this, she’s going to lose a lot of weight soon. I can’t get excited over skin and bones.
After I cleaned her, I dressed her again. I bought new clothes for her.
“Well, I should first heal her to the minimum she needs for recovery. Heal.”
I use Heal on the girl from the Ice Wolf race. I heal her external wounds and also restore her fallen strength. At the same time, I also read her memories.
“Hou, I see. So this is what she wants. Rejoice, Setsuna. Your wish will come true.”
The reason I read her memories is to make it easier to negotiate when she wakes up. If you know their memories, it’s easier to guide their thoughts. I’m sure of that. I’m convinced I can make this girl seek me out of her own will.
I left her with the mysterious disease and minimum recovery. This is necessary for my performance.
Now, let’s make her feel gratitude towards me.
I mixed a potion to cure the mysterious disease and a potion to restore her strength, which is necessary for Setsuna’s recovery, and then I also added a special medicinal porridge filled with nutritious ingredients. Then, I fed it all to her mouth to mouth, since she is unconscious. She swallows it all.
Part 2
Two days later, Freia and I were returning to the inn after an outing.
Today was the day of negotiating with the merchant I was selling the medicine to.
To my surprise, the negotiations went smoothly. I had expected that he would have prepared a large number of mercenaries to wait at the rendezvous point to kidnap us or use Freia as a hostage to try and get the secret of the medicine out of me. But my fears turned out to be unfounded.
“I’m surprised. To think the merchant wouldn’t try anything.”
“Isn’t that fine? We got all this money anyway. If we live a modest life, we can make this last for the rest of our lives.”
Freia was holding a small bag filled with 300 gold coins. The merchant paid 10 gold coins for each potion. Not a bad price. He must believe he can sell it for twice that amount.
300 gold coins is the equivalent of what a normal day worker earns in 25 years. It’s a big deal to earn that much in a single day.
“It’s a lot for an ordinary person. But we’re on a journey to save the world, so this much will end up being used in a magic sword and robe.”
The price of weapons enchanted with magic is exorbitant. Going for hundreds of gold coins is a common enough sight.
In order to increase our survival chances, we need lightweight clothes with high defenses. Considering this, 300 gold coins is not enough.
“We can just earn money again. It’s wonderful to be able to earn money while helping people!”
I chuckle. Freia really thinks I can only make 30 potions a day.
I can make a lot more if I wanted to, but I chose to only make 30 a day to keep their value high. In a way, I’m letting a life that could be saved die for my own benefit.
Well, that’s no need to say that out loud. After all, she thinks I’m a hero out to save the world.
Now, let’s go see my other companion. I enter the room with the bed where Setsuna is resting.
Part 3
We both look at the Ice Wolf girl sleeping on the bed.
“She hasn’t woken up yet.”
“She was weakened.”
If it wasn’t for me, Setsuna could have died already. It’s been two whole days since we brought her here and she still hasn’t woken up.
By adjusting Heal, I tried to make her wake up in just a few minutes. That’s the most convenient time for my play. The negotiations with her will require a sense of urgency.
“I think she’ll wake up soon. Her strange disease is already cured.”
She’s currently going to the phase of healing her weakened body. Inside a pot, I put in the potion and the grinded nourishing ingredients and then heat it up using alchemy.
Now, the potion with the strength-recovering porridge is ready. I put it in my mouth to feed her mouth-to-mouth.
I’ve been doing this every day for the past two days. It’s the only way to feed a bedridden person. Setsuna’s throat moves, and the potion with the strength-recovering porridge is ingested.
Unusually, her white wolf-like ears are moving. Then, her ice blue eyes open.
“Nn?!”
She wakes up and lets out a surprised voice, then she slaps my cheek. I could have dodged if I wanted to, but I decided to take it. I jumped back on my own accord and made it look like I was injured.
Setsuna stared at me and opened her mouth.
“This man, what do to Setsuna?!”
She looks at me with cold eyes. She probably thought I assaulted her in her sleep. It’s only natural she would think that.
“I could say the same to you! What a terrible thing you did!”
Freia’s light pink hair shakes as she’s furious.
“This man assaulted Setsuna. He’s the wrong.”
“That’s wrong! Keyaruga-sama was taking care of you. Even now, he was just giving you a mouthful of food. It was a legitimate act of medical treatment for you who was bedridden.”
It would be difficult for me to clear up the misunderstanding even if I explained everything properly, but Freia, who is of the same sex and has the point of view of a third party, can make things a lot more persuasive by showing her anger.
“That’s… lie.”
“It’s not a lie. For two days, while you were bedridden, he took care of you all this time. Cleaning your body, preparing medicine for you to drink, and always helping you. And this is how you repay him? I can believe this ingratitude!”
Freia spoke up at once and without pause. For the first time, the Ice Wolf girl observes her body.
“It’s not painful, and body feels light.”
“It’s no wonder. After all, Keyaruga-sama has been feeding you porridge with lots of nutrients and a specially made potion every day.”
Incidentally, the porridge sometimes contained monster meat. It was the meat that was preserved and made into jerky from the monsters I’ve hunted in the journey with Freia so far.
In order to increase the talent values of my new friends, I carry around some of the meat from the monsters we’ve eaten.
Setsuna looked at me for a moment with worry on her face, then she bowed her head.
“Mistakenly thought you were assaulting me. Sorry for hitting you.”
“That’s alright, it’s understandable for you to think that. In any case, I’m glad you’re feeling better. Let me introduce myself again, I’m Keyaruga.”
I give Setsuna a sweet smile, and all her caution disappears at once. She owes me for hitting me, after all, and also for taking care of her for 2 whole days, to top it off I even forgave her mistake. She’s completely under the impression that I’m a kind person.
“Setsuna is Setsuna. A proud Ice Wolf warrior.”
“That’s a good name. How about we shake hands now?”
I extend my hand and Setsuna grabs it and we shake hands. A perfect first greeting.
“Freia, can I ask you to buy something for dinner? I want to eat in our room tonight. Please get some ready-made food with good flavor.”
“Certainly. To celebrate Setsuna-chan’s recovery, I’m going to be a bit extravagant, Keyaruga-sama.”
“That’s fine. Also, make sure there’s a lot of meat.”
Since she’s like a wolf, Setsuna is probably going to enjoy it too.
“Understood. I’ll go buy something tasty.”
Freia said and then left the room.
Freia was instrumental in making me seem like a good person, but she would only be a hindrance for what’s going to happen now.
It’s time to make Setsuna truly mine and only mine.
“Now then, Setsuna, I wonder if you understand the current situation.”
“… Un, understands. Keyaruga bought Setsuna and healed me, that’s why Setsuna didn’t die.”
I laugh while clapping my hands, telling her it’s correct. Setsuna seemed troubled and conflicted over something, and then she opened her mouth.
“Thank you for saving me. The Ice Wolf race is a race that always returns the favor it receives, but Setsuna needs to go somewhere no matter what. So… sorry.”
In the next moment, Setsuna’s hand grows bigger. No, that’s wrong. She created a huge claw of ice. She thrust her hand towards me, but she formed the claws in a way that their ends are not sharp, so it seems she has no intention of killing me.
Now that’s interesting. This girl has recognized she owes me and even believes I’m a good person, yet, she’ll use any means available to reach her objective. That’s good, I like that.
But, unfortunately for Setsuna, she’s much too weak.
I dodge her outstretched hand, grab her arm and throw her with my spinning motion. Her body slams on the bed and I take out the knife I had in my pocket and put it to her throat.
“Did you not wonder why I took off your slave collar even though I don’t know your True Name?”
“… Why?”
Normally, you would never remove the slave collar from a demi-human whose True Name you don’t know.
“There is the fact that the slave collar is a hindrance for a demi-human’s treatment, since it constantly torments them. But the main reason is that I’m much stronger than Setsuna. That’s why I took it off, I don’t need it.”
By the way, I adjusted the timing when Setsuna would wake up using Heal. That’s why I was able to meet with the merchant without any worries.
“Keyaruga is strong. Who are you?”
“Just a traveling Alchemist. In any case, you were kidnapped and made into a slave, and now you’re being held down by a mere Alchemist. What can the weak Setsuna do even if she leaves here?”
Setsuna keeps silent, she knows her own weakness and powerlessness.
I saw her past with Heal. She was born in the village of the Ice Wolves. On top of that, she was born to the family known as the strongest Ice Wolf Warriors.
She was stronger than anyone her age and was called a genius. Her overwhelming high talent values and the thick blood of the Ice Wolf King in her veins manifesting as a unique skill and her genius fighting intuition can’t be shown in numbers. Truly an existence blessed by the gods.
“You can’t answer? That’s because you know the truth, don’t you? No matter what you say, you’ll just die in vain if you leave here. Setsuna is weak and can’t grow any stronger, so you can’t do anything.”
Setsuna bites her lower lip. Tears start spilling from her eyes.
It was a year ago when something changed on the genius Setsuna. Suddenly, she could no longer defeat people the same age as her.
It’s not that her fighting skills had lowered. In reality, her skills had improved more than anyone else’s. She hadn’t neglected her training. As the daughter of the strongest warrior, she tried fighting more monsters than anyone else.
She simply reached her level cap at only level 7. Her father, who wondered why she wasn’t growing stronger no matter how many monsters she defeated, got an Appraisal and found out the truth.
Still, at first, she tried to close the level gap with those around her by using her combat skills, and she had some success. But the gap in levels only grew with time.
Finally, it became impossible to beat anyone. No matter how hard she tried or how hard she worked.
No one expected anything from her anymore. The genius of the Ice Wolves became a complete failure in one go.
Unable to give up, she continued fighting monsters and honing her skills.
She was given the task of patrolling the village. It was her job to make sure the humans didn’t approach the village. It was seen as a job given to inferior warriors in the Ice Wolf race.
Then, two weeks ago, a scouting party of humans arrived. They broke through the barriers protecting the village and found out its location.
If these guys escaped, a large number of humans would come hoping to get many of the rare and expensive slaves of the Ice Wolf race.
Three of the Ice Wolves went to fight the humans while one returned to warn the village and ask for reinforcements.
The result was that all four were captured. One of them was killed miserably as an example, and another one, trembling with fear, told them the secrets of the Ice Wolf village. All three survivors were then sold into slavery.
After some time since they were made into slaves, the two other than Setsuna, who were also afflicted with the strange disease, killed themselves by biting off their tongues since they couldn’t endure the pain. The two that died were Setsuna’s friends.
But Setsuna’s friends wouldn’t be the only ones to die if things continued like this. The village will be attacked in the not-too-distant future, and all the information needed for that was given by the weak willed Ice Wolf.
Setsuna hates the people who captured them and send her friends to their death. The humans who are going to attack the Ice Wolf village, where all the people important to her are, are also going to create a tragedy.
And then there’s her weak and helpless self. If she were strong, she could have killed all the humans and prevented the information from leaking. But, because she’s weak, she put the Ice Wolf village in danger. She can’t forgive herself for that.
That’s why I’m going to give Setsuna a chance for revenge. A chance to kill the people she hates as much as she wants, a chance to say goodbye to her weak self.
“Setsuna, why don’t we negotiate? But first, let me show you my Appraisal.”
I showed Setsuna, who was still being held down, my Appraisal. This is an Appraisal I bought yesterday and prepared beforehand. The text starts from the name, and parts of it would be falsified here and there. This paper is almost impossible to falsify, that’s why it’s used for identification, but I can do it.
But I left the Hero Extra Class there without falsifying it. That’s why I showed it to Setsuna.
“Level limit increase…”
The thing that Setsuna, who went from a genius to a failure, wanted more than anything else was right there.
“Setsuna, about the Ice Wolf village, I’m sorry to say, but a large number of soldiers from Jioral Kingdom have disguised themselves as mercenaries and are marching towards it. If they’re quick, they’ll arrive by tomorrow. Even if you rush back to your village, it’ll already be too late. There’s not even time to escape, the only choice is to fight a desperate battle. Even if you add one weak Setsuna, that’s just one more Ice Wolf to be enslaved. This is a legitimate army from the most powerful country in the world, the Jioral Kingdom. The Ice Wolves will either die or become slaves.”
Ever since I saw her memories, I’ve been concerned about the Ice Wolf race and have been looking into information on them. I found out that, in Jioral Kingdom’s military, there exists a unit that poses as mercenaries and invades demi-human villages and sells them as slaves here in Ranalitta to make money, and these guys are on the move.
No, I didn’t discover this. It was in the royal guard captain’s memories that I got when I used Heal on him.
If you know that such a large army is moving, it’s easy to follow the trail of their movement and also estimate their date and time of arrival.
“Why Jioral’s soldiers?”
“Soldiers are often idle for a considerable time. Using them to raid demi-human villages is a good form of training to keep up shape and also a nice way to make money on the side, as well as a good way to level up. This is one of the most important ways to make money for Jioral.”
Setsuna’s face distorts with hatred. The country itself is trying to destroy the Ice Wolves for money. That’s something that she, someone affected by this, cannot forgive. Go on, hate them, resent them.
“Now, Setsuna, as you can see from the Appraisal, I’m strong. After all, I have the Sword Saint skill and a high status. I’m a match for a whole army. Freia, who is not here now, is also as strong as me. And I can make the weak Setsuna strong by increasing your level limit. If we join forces, the Ice Wolves might be saved. And maybe Setsuna will even become strong enough to kill the people you hate.”
Setsuna gulps. I think she’s starting to understand what I’m trying to say.
“What would it take for your help? Setsuna will do whatever it takes to become stronger and protect everyone.”
I put away the knife that was pressed on Setsuna’s neck and stood up.
“There are two conditions for me to lend my help. The first is that you must give me your True Name. You understand what that means, don’t you?”
“Understands. Setsuna will become a slave in the true sense of the word for the rest of her life. That’s fine, but only after you save the village, otherwise don’t trust you.”
“Hou, I can say the same thing to you.”
“That’s… can do nothing but ask you to trust me.”
“I understand, I’ll trust you. I’ll have you show me the sincerity of the Ice Wolf race.”
I think it’s naive, but that naiveness is the chain that will bind our hearts. A True Name can do nothing more than make a demi-humans obey orders. That’s not good enough, you need to think for yourself and do what you can with all your power. If it’s not like that, you’ll never grow or become stronger.
In order for that to happen, I have to grasp her heart tightly.
“The second condition is for you to become stronger. The level limit can be raised with the body fluids of a Hero. Saliva and blood could work, but they’re terribly inefficient. Semen is the best option.”
I said while pointing to my own crotch. It was very easy to notice my tent there. Setsuna looked at it and gulped.
“Let me be clear, I want all of your talents except your level limit. For that reason, I will kill the humans you hate and protect the Ice Wolf village. You have that much value, but if you don’t plan to change how you are now then I don’t need you. To begin with, Setsuna, do you want to stay the same? Not being able to do anything, despairing because you’re weak.”
“Setsuna… Setsuna…”
Setsuna hesitates. I’m not giving her an order, but rather a chance to do something.
“This isn’t an order. Reach out your hand and change by your own will. Don’t hesitate. This isn’t just my cock, it’s Setsuna’s future. Now choose: will you grab your future? Or will you let it go?”
If she can’t choose to grab her future here, I’m sorry, but she’s not necessary. No matter how good she may be, if she lacks the strength of heart, which is the most important thing, then she’s useless to me.
Setsuna looks straight at my crotch.
“Setsuna wants to change. Become stronger to protect everyone. Want the strength to kill everyone who kidnaps the Ice Wolves for money. That’s why…”
There was a strong determination in her expression. Even I found it beautiful.
“Setsuna will grab future.”
Out of her own will, she reached for my dick. She passed the test and grabbed her future. Not by force, but by her own will. With this, she is qualified.
For the sake of my important companion, I’ll be slaughtering all the soldiers from Jioral who are attacking the Ice Wolves. To be honest, I also don’t like them and want to kill them. It’s also going to be fun to watch Freia kill the soldiers from her home.
Hmm, I was going to fight just for Setsuna, but it seems it’ll also be interesting for me as well.
We’ll be on our way as soon as we raise her
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 19 – The Healer Arrives At The Ice Wolf Village
Part 1
Now that I was alone, I was thinking about Setsuna.
The slave I bought… a beautiful girl of the Ice Wolf race, with white hair, skin, wolf ears, tail and everything else.
I asked Setsuna a question. The question was whether she would grasp her future.
She had the courage to seize her future of her own volition. So I decided to help Setsuna take revenge and protect her friends.
Tomorrow, we will go to the Ice Wolves’ village, which is being targeted by humans, to rescue them.
Today, we’re working on raising her level limit. Setsuna was unable to become stronger due to the absolute barrier that is the level limit. I’ll give Setsuna wings in order to overcome this wall. Those wings will be, of course, a Hero’s power.
Of course, the person herself helped with that. She did her best, albeit clumsy, to become stronger.
I would like to increase her level limit by a bunch at once, but it won’t succeed as easily once the concentration of my semen drops.
Strangely enough, although Heal has no problem restoring strength and even changing one’s appearance, it seems that it can’t restore vitality.
So, exactly once every four hours, a total of three times, I raise Setsuna’s level limit. But still I’m surprised, every time I increase her level limit, Setsuna levels up. This repeated itself all three times.
How long had she been fighting and defeating monsters without gaining levels? Her body had accumulated a tremendous amount of experience. Every time her level is raised, that experience becomes part of her flesh and blood.
The moment Setsuna’s level increased, her face crumpled up and she cried. She knew the unique sensation from when your level increases. She must have been really happy.
Setsuna laughed while saying she could now kill the people who had kidnapped her friends, who had just been patrolling their homes, and taken them to their deaths.
I don’t dislike girls who work hard, so I’ll do my best to help her.
Part 2
Early in the morning, I left the inn and bought a raptor in town.
A raptor is a useful monster for riding. They’re bipedal reptiles with a bit of a rough temperament, but they’re stronger and faster than horses. However, a lot of training is needed to ride one.
But I have Imitation Heal. All I had to do was swap out one of my skills for the Riding skill. I’ve already used Imitation Heal on enough knights to be sick of it.
I’ve caught traces of the movements of the knights disguised as mercenaries last night during a little solo reconnaissance trip outside the inn while I was waiting to perform my heroic duties with Setsuna again.
The size of the group was about 200 people. And, considering the location of the Ice Wolf village that Setsuna told me about, they should be arriving there this evening.
“Freia, Setsuna, let’s go.”
Yesterday, I told them we were going to save the Ice Wolf village.
I told them how the Jioral soldiers were raiding demi-human villages under the kingdom’s orders to gain money from selling them into slavery. Freia was outraged hearing the evil deeds of the treacherous Jioral army and declared that she would use her power to help the Ice Wolves.
She said something like…
“It’s horrible that they’re playing with people’s lives for money. Someone who does that kind of thing isn’t even human anymore, they’re just monsters. So I have no reason to hesitate in defeating those people.”
I was struggling to hold back my laughter.
Freia, who until the other day was princess Flare, number 2 in Jioral’s pecking order, was legitimately angry. Well, if she’s going to say that much I’ll let her help as well.
Just to be safe, I got her a hat and mask that completely hid her face and hair.
Even though they’re disguised as mercenaries, we’ll be going up against Jioral’s army. If they see Freia, things are probably going to get troublesome.
Since they won’t be able to say we’re interfering in their attack on a demi-human village, they’re probably going to make up some other story and put us on a wanted list. That’s why a disguise is necessary.
I straddle the raptor. Setsuna’s small body is tucked between me and the reins. Freia hugs me from behind.
“Setsuna, there’s a secret path, right?”
“Un. That’s the only thing Yumuran didn’t talk about.”
Yumuran is the name of the man who was captured and revealed the secrets of the Ice Wolf race.
I hit the raptor with a whip. It breaks into a run, going as fast as it can.
Even a monster would get tired after going at this pace for about 10 minutes, but I have Heal. That makes it possible for me to make it always run at full speed while recovering its strength.
Taking that into consideration, I arrived at the conclusion that, if we left in the morning, we would arrive on time.
“Wow, Keyaruga-sama, this raptor is fast. Much faster than a horse.”
“Surprised. Setsuna is faster than horse, but can’t beat this.”
Freia and Setsuna both let out voices of admiration. A monster’s physical ability is beyond common sense. And it can achieve this much speed with the help of the Riding skill.
“Be careful not to bite your tongue. And hold on to me properly, if you fall off you’re going to get hurt.”
The two of them clung to me tightly. Setsuna is a cool beautiful girl with wolf ears. Freia is a beautiful girl with unquestionable style. This could be an interesting benefit.
While riding, I think about what to do. The Jioral Kingdom has dispatched 200 men this time. If it’s just 200, I can win if I give it my all, but what would be the point of that?
If 200 isn’t enough, they’ll come back with double that amount. If that’s not enough, they’ll bring even more. One day, I’ll definitely fail in protecting the Ice Wolves, since those guys won’t let it end with their defeat. They have a lot of self-esteem, I’ll give them that.
That’s why I need to find a way to settle things. I’m going to get Setsuna’s everything, in exchange, I’m going to let her get revenge and I’ll also protect the Ice Wolves.
Now, what shall I do to fulfill this difficult task? I’ll need to figure out the answer to that question.
Part 3
We took a detour to pass through the secret path, and because of that we arrived At the Ice Wolf village just before the battle began.
Before entering the village, we hid in the trees of the forest to see what was happening. I strengthened my eyesight by using my Jade Eye, and Setsuna can see things from a great distance because her vision is just that good.
Jioral Kingdom’s soldiers, disguised as mercenaries, have already arrived at the village. They have set up camp and are preparing something. The Ice Wolves were watching the soldiers from the stone and mud walls that are protecting the village.
“My bad, looks like the Jioral soldiers arrived faster than expected.”
“… Battle hasn’t started. Barely made it in time.”
Setsuna gives me a short response to my apology.
“The Ice Wolves’ defenses are surprisingly strong.”
The defensive wall protecting the Ice Wolves’ village surprised me. At first, it looks like it’s just stone and mud, but it also works as a barrier using feng shui magic. It’s also extremely powerful, using blood as a medium.
With this, they can probably survive as long as they stay in their village.
“Ice Wolves been targeted by many races in the past, so become good at defensive barriers.”
According to Setsuna, there are two underground passages that pass through the defensive barrier. One of those was divulged by Setsuna’s friends to the kingdom’s soldiers.
But the passage is narrow and they have no choice but to walk in a single line formation, so it would be easy to protect against them.
Maybe there was no need for me to come. When I thought that, something happened.
Something appeared from the position the Jioral soldiers were holding. Five men and women, all of them Ice Wolves.
They were stripped naked, had slave collars put on them, were made to crawl on all fours like dogs and were brought in front of the soldiers. At that point, I already knew what was going to happen.
I see. That really is Jioral Kingdom’s style. Even at times like these, they’re the worst kind of people.
The soldiers showed themselves torturing the men and raping the women to the other Ice Wolves inside the protective wall.
Setsuna’s eyes widen and she tried to jump out, but I put my hand over her mouth and held her in place.
What they’re trying to do is very simple: it’s hard to do anything with the Ice Wolves holed up in their village. So they just have to make the Ice Wolves themselves open the door.
They’re waiting for the Ice Wolves to come out to try and save their friends. When the screams aren’t loud enough, the soldiers stab them with their swords, pour alcohol on them and set them on fire. The scream of the Ice Wolves echo through the air.
The Ice Wolves inside the wall are starting to get restless. It’s about time for the more hot-blooded ones to jump out.
I hate it. Why do my worst predictions always turn out to be true?
Looking at Setsuna, her hatred was swelling to the limit. I don’t want to make her endure any longer, but if I allowed her to recklessly charge in now she would surely die.
That’s why…
“Setsuna, listen to me. If you jump out now, you’ll die.”
“Nn, nn.”
As if saying she already knows that, she continues to struggle.
“But I don’t plan to tell you to just sit back twiddling your thumbs. I know that would be worse than death.”
Putting myself in Setsuna’s shoes, if I were made to watch my friends get toyed with while the people doing it are getting away with it is something I’d definitely hate. There’s no way I could endure such a thing, and it’s the same for her.
“I’m going there to create a situation that’s safe for you to jump out. I’ll lower their numbers so you can get your revenge. So give me five minutes. Can you do that?”
Setsuna became quiet, and then she nodded with tear-stained eyes.
That’s it, good girl.
And there doesn’t seem like there’s much time. The Ice Wolves have opened their barrier. With a shout, the young men are running out.
They have ice claws on their hands, like Setsuna had yesterday.
I’m sure they intended to get back inside after rescuing their companions, but they were too naive.
As if just waiting for their chance, fire magic and arrows started raining down. In the blink of an eye, the Ice Wolves who had jumped out were either killed or seriously injured.
It would still be fine if the other Ice Wolves immediately closed the gate, but they hesitated. That hesitation was fatal. The soldiers shout while closing in on the gate. They weren’t able to close it in time, and now the gate is being held open by the soldiers.
It was an amazing performance. As expected of the soldiers from Jioral Kingdom, they’re used to these kinds of tactics.
I look at Setsuna, who hasn’t screamed. She was just glaring at the kingdom’s soldiers with eyes filled with hatred.
She was able to wait properly. Good girl, good girl.
“Now, I guess I should go.”
With all my might, I’ll create the stage for Setsuna’s revenge.
But it’s no fun to just hide my presence and take them out. Wait, I’ve got a good idea.
I hide my face with a mask and leap out of the forest while holding my sword. Then, I shouted. I even used magic to amplify my voice so it could be heard in the distance.
“I am the Sword Hero! My sword is the sword of justice, and in the name of justice, I’ll cut down these cruel people who are attacking this innocent demi-human village!”
I’ll harass them a little. With the Sword Saint’s abilities, I should be able to make a good Sword Hero.
Now, it’s the first time in this world where I have to get serious. Even though it’s this kind of situation, let’s have fun.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Chapter 20 – The Healer Becomes A Hero
Part 1
While wielding my sword, I charge into the enemy camp. I had just declared that I was the Sword Hero and that I would wield my sword as an ally of justice to protect the innocent demi-humans.
I have two reasons for doing that:
The first is to sway the enemy. A Hero is a symbol of justice. If the kingdom’s soldiers are judged to be evil by a Hero, they will hesitate and create an opening for me. Furthermore, a Hero is an important resource, so they’ll want to avoid killing me if possible. Capture him without killing him. The moment they think that, their actions will be naturally restricted. I plan to take advantage of this opportunity.
The second objective is to lure the Sword Hero. If she’s following the same path as last time, then it should still be quite a while before she’s invited by the royal family. She used to be an adventurer in a different country, but she was lured to Jioral Kingdom after hearing of the kingdom’s deceptive sense of justice and falling in love with princess Flare. If she figures out a counterfeit Sword Hero has appeared, it’s possible her arrival will be hastened. This way, I can have my revenge faster… and it’s also a way to annoy her a little.
So, to summarize the situation…
I’m on an open road made inside a forest. Ahead of me are 200 of Jioral Kingdom’s soldiers that are disguised as mercenaries. About 200 meters ahead is the Ice Wolf village that is protected by a wall.
The first priority is to protect the gate that’s about to be breached. If the gate is held down, then the Ice Wolf village will be destroyed in seconds. I want to avoid that.
The gate must be protected. Right now, the priority is speed. So what I need now is…
“Transformation Heal.”
I redistribute my talent values to focus mostly on speed.
Race: Human
Name: Keyaru
Class: Healer / Hero
Level: 34
Status:
MP: 114/114
Physical Attack: 60
Physical Defense: 62
Magical Attack: 73
Magical Defense: 41
Speed: 140
Level Limit: ∞
Talent Values:
MP: 80
Physical Attack: 132 → 80
Physical Defense: 83 → 83
Magical Attack: 100 → 100
Magical Defense: 72 → 52
Speed: 126 → 198
Total Talent Value: 593
The two things I shaved off to increase my speed were my physical attack and magic defense.
I don’t need much magical defense because, as long as I jump right in the middle of the enemy like this, they won’t be able to easily use magic attacks because they’re afraid of involving their allies.
And the physical attack could be lowered because…
“Shii-!”
Because I’m using the swordsmanship of the Sword Saint.
The swordsmanship of the Clyret family, which continues to produce Sword Saints, has been refined through tens of thousands of actual battles and is based on the Auclair* school of sword fighting. This sword isn’t meant for spectacles or games, it’s a killer sword that pursues efficiency.
The secret sword, Blood Flower, is released.
The kingdom’s soldiers are disguised as mercenaries and aren’t wearing armor. In other words, their vital points are in full view.
While running through them with all my might, I gently slice the necks and wrists of the kingdom’s soldiers with my sword.
Without a moment’s pause and with a speed that transcends human knowledge, I run through the crowd of enemies towards the Ice Wolves’ defensive wall. After I pass through, a fountain of blood erupts from the kingdom’s soldiers.
At that time, the soldiers finally start to make a commotion.
“W-what the hell is this?!”
“Hii, hiiii!”
“What in the world is happening?!”
This technique is useful. Normally, when you’re using a sword, you have to step on the ground and concentrate all your strength on your sword and swing it. A powerful sword like that has the power to slice through armor, but it also stops you from moving and consumes all your energy.
However, this Blood Flower is different.
It aims at the opponent’s soft arteries, so just a light slice is enough. It ends people’s lives as I run through them. This is a swordsmanship that makes the most of both speed and softness of the wrist.
Flowers of blood bloomed all around. And it also has the effect of making the enemy even more uneasy.
“Human life is really fleeting, isn’t it?”
Magic power is quantified as MP. But life itself isn’t shown in the status. That’s obvious, because humans are easy to kill. A person can be easily killed just by bleeding for too long, separating the head from the torso, or just by depriving them of oxygen for long enough.
In that case, it’s best to destroy them efficiently.
In addition, the Sword Saint has a certain ability called All-Seeing. It’s the best presence detection ability. It’s possible to completely grasp all the movements in the surrounding area, and it’s also possible to have a reaction that is beyond human capabilities.
I can see everything. That’s why I reap down many lives with Blood Flower while running through narrow gaps to take the most optimized route.
“I’ve arrived.”
I smile a little. The distraction caused by me claiming to be a Hero and declaring that I was on the side of justice lasted only 10 seconds. In that short time, I was able to break through the center of the enemy line.
The extreme speed I obtained with Transformation Heal and the swordsmanship of the Sword Saint. It’s those two things that allowed me to do that.
The enemy is disguised as mercenaries and there are no monsters that are outside a human’s standard in the group. Thanks to that, I’m able to rampage to my heart’s content.
When I cut off the necks of several soldiers who were reaching for the gate that the Ice Wolves were trying to protect, I came eye to eye with an Ice Wolf guard.
They were frightened. From their point of view, I’m an enemy with overwhelming power. I should tell them who I am.
“Listen, Ice Wolf warriors. I am the Sword Hero. I have come in response to the tears and wishes of Setsuna, an Ice Wolf girl from this village. Seeing the evilness of these humans, I have decided to join your side in this fight.”
The Ice Wolves were surprised. Pretending to not notice that, I turned my back to them and faced the kingdom’s soldiers.
“I will declare it once again. I will carry out justice. Your barbaric actions are inexcusable. You are no longer humans, just mere monsters. Therefore, I will not hesitate. You all will become the rust on my sword.”
Aah, this is getting fun. I think I’m getting drunk on blood.
The kingdom’s soldiers have finally ended their hesitation. It seems they’ve given up on capturing me and are simply going to try and kill me. The mages on the back lines are casting their magic and the archers are knocking their arrows.
I’m no longer in the middle of them, so I guess they don’t have to hesitate about using arrows or magic.
“You, Ice Wolf over there, quickly close this gate.”
Even though I just cleared all the soldiers who were trying to hold open the gate, the Ice Wolf men haven’t yet closed it.
“B-but the Sword Hero and the people outside…”
“Don’t worry about me. And give up on those who are outside, you can’t save them.”
After I said that much, the Ice Wolf men finally started closing the gate.
Fuu, at least that’s taken care of. As soon as I let out a breath, flames and arrows started raining down.
As expected, it’s impossible to dodge all the flames and arrows spread over such a wide area. That’s why I’ll put up my shield.
My shield is one of the kingdom’s soldiers who is just barely alive after losing most of his blood.
The enemy attacks from the back, making their projectiles fly up on an arc as if going up a mountain to make sure they won’t hit their allies. But in summary, it’s fine as long as I put my shield up.
“Gyaaaaaaa!”
As the flames and arrows rained down, my shield screamed. The kingdom’s soldiers are looking at me as if scoffing me.
Fool, with this much fire magic, that meat shield will burn down in an instant. It’s no protection at all. I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re thinking.
And it is true, I have to agree. But…
When the flames cleared, both me and my shield were alive and well. Well, my shield is still bleeding from all the arrows that pierced its body, but I don’t need it anymore, so I’ll just throw it away.
I also threw two gunpowder spheres that I took from the pit of my stomach. They exploded in the skies above the mages and arches, who were at the rear of the enemy formation, and colored flames scattered.
That wasn’t an attack, it was a signal.
A few seconds later, a huge mass of flames, incomparable to what the kingdom’s mages were capable of, falls on them and consumes all of them.
“Aaa, Flare, you’ve finally done it. You killed your own soldiers. Well, I’m the one who made you do it though.”
As expected of a spell from Flare, the Magic Hero. The power and accuracy are nothing but the best. This magic can no longer be classified as single-target or area magic, it should be classified as strategic magic.
“Now then, the annoying guys at the back have been dealt with. It’s time to charge.”
I grab my sword again and charge forward. The soldiers scream.
First of all, the reason why my meat shield was able to withstand the attack. That’s easy, because I used Heal on it while blocking the attacks. As long as I healed it before it burned out, the shield wouldn’t break. It was very helpful in its job.
As for the gunpowder I threw, it was to show a location to Freia. The magic Freia used was the highest rank of magic a human can use, Rank 5 magic, Meteor.
It’s a strategic magic with a range of 400 meters. There are probably not more than 10 people in this country who can use it.
From the start, I told Freia to act separately. I instructed her to keep watch a few hundred meters away from here and shoot a Meteor at my mark. Since I couldn’t afford to give Freia an escort, I had to put her far enough away that neither magic nor arrows could reach her. At such a super long distance, only strategic magic can be used.
Freia could use up to Rank 6 magic, which is beyond human reach, but that would be completely excessive and, at the moment she used it, she would be recognized as princess Flare. Even with all those limitations, her power is still tremendous. As one would expect, Freia’s value as an asset is very high. And what’s more…
“It’s a good way to gain experience.”
There is such a thing as a Party, which can have up to four people in it. The most important thing to remember about it is that the experience gained by the people in a Party will be divided equally, calculated by a special formula.
Right now, the three of us, me, Freia and Setsuna are forming a Party.
In addition, the Hero’s skill that doubles experience is stacked because of me and Freia, making us earn four times as much.
Basically, leveling up is usually done by fighting monsters, but you can gain experience from killing anything that’s alive according to its’ strength. Humans are no exception.
So what happens if you wipe out the enemy with a strategic magic like Meteor in a situation like this? The answer is simple.
“My blood’s boiling.”
A rapid rise in levels. The average level of the kingdom’s soldiers is high. There aren’t many hunting grounds as good as this.
My movement accelerates even more. My power grows even stronger. I run around the enemies in every direction. Occasionally, I would throw more gunpowder spheres at the back of the enemy formation to have my Flare get rid of the more annoying ones with her ultra-long-range magic.
At this point, it’s basically a massacre.
The enemy soldiers, who numbered more than 200 at the start, are rapidly dwindling in numbers.
“What the hell is this guy?!”
“Surround him! Surround him!”
“No way, he’s too fast!”
“Oi, this guy, I can’t even see him anymore. Is he really human?”
“Does he not get tired?!”
In a situation of fighting multiple enemies at once, what you absolutely have to avoid is having your escape route blocked and being attacked from many directions at once.
The average swordsman would stop and pull power from his hips to deliver a heavy blow. But that would lead to an unavoidable situation of being surrounded and attacked from all sides.
But I’m not an average swordsman. I haven’t stopped for a moment since a while ago. I’ve been securing my escape routes while running as fast as I can and slashing off arteries as I pass by.
I have plenty of experience fighting a great number of enemies. I would never be foolish enough to lose my escape route.
But, even if you take care of all those things, there’s one thing you can’t control, and that’s physical exhaustion. No matter how hard you work out, everyone eventually runs out of breath and their arms and legs stop because of fatigue.
But I have Heal. I can heal any kind of wound and even deal with lost stamina like this. And, if I have the chance, I can even make up for the lost magic power with Looting Heal.
An ultra-fast perpetual motion machine, that’s my fighting style.
“Hii, hii, d-don’t come. Put away your sword or this Ice Wolf woman will die because of you.”
One of the soldiers put his sword to the throat of an Ice Wolf woman that they used to lure out the Ice Wolves from the village. I ran next to him with my super-speed and stroked his neck with my sword.
This guy was an idiot, hostages are useless against me. If I die, the entire Ice Wolf race behind me will become toys for the humans. My life is the first priority.
That said, it’s not good for my mental health to abandon the Ice Wolf woman. If they’re lucky, my actions will save their lives. Whether they survive or not is up to them.
Well, that should be enough. I’ve killed over half of the enemy forces. The survivors have lost their will to fight and are running away. I’ve run out of gunpowder and Freia is probably out of MP by now.
It’s time to grant Setsuna’s wish. That’s what this was all about to begin with.
“Setsuna, you’ve endured well. You’re the star from here on out. Leave your back to me.”
I shout and Setsuna, the Ice Wolf girl who had been hiding in the forest, leaps out. On both her hands are claws made of ice, that’s the fighting style of the Ice Wolves.
Setsuna has only gained three levels. Her abnormally high talent values and her outstanding skills and abilities. The unquantifiable techniques she has accumulated until now. Her natural combat instinct.
Even taking all that into consideration, she is, at best, as strong as the soldiers here. Her level is still only 10.
But now most of the enemies have fallen and their will to fight is broken. As long as I stay by her side, she can continue to fight to her heart’s content.
I continue to fight while putting power into my Jade Eye to check if there are any soldiers Setsuna can’t handle. I always make sure to set up a situation where she can fight one-on-one.
“…”
Setsuna was crying. At the same time, she continued swinging her ice claws. Each time she did so, the life of a kingdom’s soldier was forfeit.
She was now carrying out her revenge in full. I’m glad she’s happy. After all, this whole battle is for Setsuna’s sake.
My revenge has an aesthetic sense. I don’t harm those that don’t harm me. But this isn’t my revenge, it’s Setsuna. This is Setsuna’s revenge against those who enslaved her, send her friends to their deaths, and are now trying to create more tragedies.
That means I can wield my full strength.
Maybe some of these soldiers are forced to commit these atrocities. But that doesn’t matter to me. If they don’t like it, they can just run away. I have no sympathy for those who are voluntarily choosing to slaughter and enslave the Ice Wolves.
“This country is shit. I better put an end to it.”
I also had another intention with this. After a while since Freia had her memories erased, I was confused. I can’t see the ugliness of princess Flare in her. That made me realize the truth.
I thought my revenge ended with Flare as an individual, but I was wrong. This country created princess Flare. I should take revenge not just on princess Flare for what she did to me, but also on Jioral Kingdom itself, who made her the way she was.
Even without princess Flare, this kingdom will still try to harm me again like the first time. They can produce as many replacements for Flare as they want. So, if I want to exterminate the pests, I have to destroy the thing that gives birth to them.
But simply destroying Jioral Kingdom is no fun. From now on, I’ll reach out my hand to those who hate Jioral Kingdom, and eventually, we’ll put an end to this kingdom. That will be my true revenge.
While I was thinking that, I heard a wolf howl.
“Setsuna, it seems the Ice Wolves really don’t like humans.”
“Obvious. Not many big attacks like this, but many Ice Wolves like me were kidnapped and turned playthings after leaving the forest.”
Finally, the Ice Wolves opened the gate and came out like an avalanche. The kingdom’s soldiers can no longer stop them. The tide of the battle has been set, and it’s a one-way slaughter by the Ice Wolves.
As if to let out all their anger and resentment, the Ice Wolves attacked the soldiers, not caring about anything else.
Before I knew it, Setsuna and I had stopped. There was no need for us to fight anymore. We simply stood and watched the Ice Wolves’ fury.
“Setsuna, I did what you wanted. I killed the humans you hated, and you also killed a lot yourself. How do you feel?”
Setsuna looked up at me, tears swelling up in her eyes. I want to know. I want to know what she’ll look like and what she’ll think when she achieves her revenge. That’s why I did all this.
“Enjoyed it a lot, very happy, but… no, nothing.”
She gives out a small laugh. Then, she runs forward while pointing her ice claws at the soldiers again.
Part 2
The battle ended with an overwhelming victory for the Ice Wolf race.
The humans either died or fled. There were no prisoners. Some soldiers surrendered, but the Ice Wolves killed them all.
I was invited into the village with Setsuna. Since I told them I came because of Setsuna’s call, they treated both me and Setsuna as heroes.
At any rate, my promise to Setsuna is now completed. With this, Setsuna is mine. I should ask for her True Name immediately.
And there’s also something else I need to tell her. I’m looking forward to Setsuna’s reaction when I tell her that.
*TN: Original オークレール. Idletranslations put it as Oakrule.
However, in Cheat Magic (https://www.novelupdates.com/series/cheat-majutsu-de-unmei-wo-nejifuseru-wn/), these same katakana show up as the surname of the character Annelotta Auclair (アンネロッタ・オークレール).
The Auclair family is described as “the kingdom’s sword and the royal family’s sword instructor” which is why I opted to leave it as their name. Also, Anne has basically the same physical description as Kureha, and we learned earlier this volume that Kureha is a descendant of the ancient hero Souji.
In summary, Kureha is Anne and Souji’s descendant, so it makes sense that the Auclair school is the base for the Clyret style.
Redo Of Healer Volume 1 Epilogue – The Healer Obtains Setsuna
Part 1
The battle was over. The Jioral Kingdom’s ambition of attacking the Ice Wolf village to make their soldiers gain experience and sell the captured Ice Wolves in Ranalitta for money has been foiled.
After that, I called Freia back from her little solo mission. So the three of us, me, Setsuna and Freia, entered the Ice Wolf village.
Freia and I received a warm welcome and we were treated as heroes despite being humans. The Ice Wolves expressed words of gratitude and pushed jewels and food onto us.
It was a little surprising. I expected them to thank me, but to say they still hate me because I’m human.
Once the welcome was over, a man stepped forward from the crowd.
“Setsuna, you’ve returned, and even brought the Sword Hero with you. I’m so proud of you.”
Apparently, that’s Setsuna’s father.
“Father, Setsuna…”
“I was completely astonished when I heard you were kidnapped. I thought you could at least patrol the area, but… as I thought, it’s impossible for you to be a warrior. Don’t fight anymore. Find a husband, have children, and protect your home.”
Setsuna’s father hugged her tightly. But these words were not what she wanted to hear.
First of all, she belongs to me now. Even if it’s her father, I won’t let him just decide on her future like that.
“It’s not impossible. She has talent. If she wants, she can be stronger than anyone else. I guarantee it.”
I interrupted the father-daughter conversation. Setsuna looked at me. I feel a little bad for tearing them apart after they just met again, but Setsuna is a necessary resource for me.
“Father, Setsuna go with this man. Leave the Ice Wolf village, travel many places and become stronger. So today is goodbye.”
Setsuna declared that while looking into her father’s eyes. That’s not the selfishness of a child. I could see the determination to stand on her own as an adult.
What’s strange is that Setsuna seems to want to be with me from the bottom of her heart, not because of a contract or because she has no choice.
“… I see. I won’t stop you if that’s the path you’ve chosen. Sword Hero-sama, do you really believe Setsuna has talent? If it’s a Hero’s journey, it’s sure to be full of dangers. Can I trust that Setsuna is strong and qualified enough to keep up?”
It’s normal for a parent to worry about their child. But his point of concern is if Setsuna is strong enough? It must be the Ice Wolves’ unique way of thinking.
“Of course. With me, she’ll be stronger than anyone else. There’s no doubt about that.”
All she lacks are levels. But that barrier has been removed from the moment she grasped her future.
“In that case, I have nothing more to say as her father. Please take care of Setsuna… and take this as well.”
Setsuna’s father gave me a necklace with a blue jewel on it. I feel a strong magic power from it. This is a high-grade magic tool, and probably worth several hundred gold coins.
“What is this?”
“It’s our family heirloom. I planned to give this to Setsuna’s husband when she got married. I’ll leave it to you.”
Well, I’ll take it if you’re giving it to me. It has the effect of increasing magic power, and it’s not a bad thing to have.
Setsuna’s father then went into great detail about what she liked and disliked, what she wasn’t good at and all the gestures she made when she was trying to act tough to hide her bad condition.
With all that, I had to properly recognize him as her father. She is loved. If she were to stay in this village, she would live a peaceful life under her father’s protection and she would eventually find a husband. But, the moment she decided to take revenge, she chose to walk this blood-soaked path with me. Maybe that was unfortunate for her.
After that, I parted with him and was invited to the house of the Ice Wolf chief.
Part 2
“I would like to offer thanks for saving our village and our people.”
As soon as I was shown to the guest room, an elderly man, who appeared to be the Ice Wolf chief, bowed his head.
“If you want to thank someone, thank Setsuna here. It was her wish that brought me here.”
“Is that so? Still, I offer my thanks to you. And to you as well, Setsuna.”
Setsuna also bows her head. Now, I should also give them a little piece of advice. Jioral Kingdom values its pride quite a lot. There’s no way they’ll let their attack at a demi-human village end with their defeat.
If nothing is done, the Ice Wolves will be destroyed. While I was thinking of a way to bridge the conversation, the Ice Wolf chief opened his mouth.
“Sword Hero-sama, we have decided to abandon this village. We will leave this village behind and head for the land of the elves and Fire Foxes beyond the mountains*. They will accept us there.”
“That’s a wise decision. As long as you stay here, it’s only a matter of time before you’re attacked again.”
“Yes, the Ice Wolves are a proud race that have long survived on our own strength. But it’s time to move on. If this continues, we’ll be eradicated.”
It seems there was no need for my advice. They already have a firm grasp of their current situation. The Ice Wolves seem to be a race with a sense for crisis.
“About that, could the Sword Hero-sama accompany us? If we have your sword skill, our journey will be peaceful. Besides, Setsuna seems to have taken a liking to you. Why not take her as a wife and lead a peaceful life? Of course, we’ll also give the best treatment we can.”
I shake my head quietly. I felt someone’s eyes on me, so I turned to look and saw Setsuna. Setsuna averts her gaze. Her face was slightly red though.
“I’ll have to decline that offer. I’m also traveling to reach my own objectives.”
In the first place, Setsuna is already my property. She cannot become the chains to bind me.
“I see, I understand. We’ll leave the day after tomorrow. Let’s have a banquet today, please enjoy yourselves. We’ll do our best to entertain our village’s heroes.”
“Ah, I’m looking forward to it.”
That was the end of the conversation. The rest was just idle chat.
Part 3
The banquet continued until late at night.
The sake made by the Ice Wolves is strong and it makes my throat burn. Despite that, it was tasty.
Freia, who drank without a care in the world, was drunk and sleeping in the room that was lent to us.
I had left the banquet and went into the forest at night.
“Keyaruga-sama, come. Body hot. Going crazy.”
I made Setsuna put her hands on a tree and stick out her butt. I grab her protruding butt from behind and thrust myself into her.
Even though I wasn’t doing anything, Setsuna was getting wet. Apparently, she was really excited about her revenge. Not only was she wet, she was also extremely hot. I feel like I’m going to cum early today.
“I’ll give you lots of love.”
“Aa, an! Suddenly, Keyaruga-sama, inside Setsuna. Setsuna feels alive. Setsuna is alive now.”
Setsuna was screaming with delight as I fucked her hard.
After a life-threatening battle, you feel the most alive when you’re lying your body with someone else like this.
This is the best way to feel life. There are plenty of pleasures that can only be enjoyed at a time like this. I’ll make sure to teach her plenty.
Part 4
“… Intense today.”
“It’s because I’m excited after a battle.”
Setsuna’s face is still red as she fixes her clothes.
Setsuna’s level cap is still low, so I need to properly increase it. It’s not as simple as resting today and doing a little extra tomorrow.
Setsuna is whipping off the amount that’s spilling out. I find that erotic.
“Setsuna also excited. A lot.”
Why is the lewd appearance of a beautiful young girl so arousing? Unable to hold back my urges anymore, I kiss Setsuna and indulge in her.
“What do you think after dirtying your hands and killing the people you hated?”
Setsuna closed her eyes, clenched her fists, and then opened her mouth.
“Felt good. Head and body so hot like they were on fire. Every time swung nails, feeling grew and started to tremble. And when saw them crying or shouting, also. When unable to move, wanted to laugh… felt like a trance. Killed, Killed and killed and when noticed, felt cold, mind turned white and tears came out.”
Setsuna hugged her own body. It was as if she was afraid of something.
“Do you regret it?”
“Don’t. Always wanted to do this. Would go crazy if handn’t. Made them feel least one-hundredth of pain Setsuna and others felt.”
Despite her words, Setsuna’s face was pale.
“So what are you afraid of? What do you fear?”
“Don’t know. The only thing know is that it not enough. Setsuna’s revenge not over yet. After everything turned white, chased the men who running away. Even then, not enough.”
Setsuna laughs. That’s right, it’s not enough. That’s what revenge is all about.
Setsuna has indeed killed a lot of people, but what she lost hasn’t returned. So she still doesn’t feel satisfied. And because she’s not satisfied, her revenge hasn’t ended.
“Then, continue your revenge until you’re satisfied. As long as you’re with me, you’ll be able to fight the soldiers of the Jioral Kingdom to your heart’s content.”
“Un. Looking forward to it.”
I pat Setsuna’s head between her white wolf ears. She then leans her body on me.
“Promised you’d save the Ice Wolf village and let Setsuna take revenge. Kept it, so Setsuna will give Setsuna’s everything.”
I smile. Setsuna will now reveal to me her True Name.
The True Name is the name that is engraved on the soul of all non-human creatures. Once I know it, I can have Setsuna do whatever I want. Setsuna will become my property in the true sense of the word.
“Keyaruga-sama, Setsuna’s, Setsuna’s True Name is…”
Setsuna’s True Name is engraved into my mind. I use that name to invoke contract magic. Setsuna and I are now connected.
Setsuna is now mine.
“Thank you. Setsuna, I promise to give you affection until the day I die.”
“Un. Setsuna prepared for that. Probably because it’s Setsuna’s happiness.”
Even though she just became a slave for the rest of her life, Setsuna laughed. What a strange girl.
Well, it’s fine. I can use her, so I’ll take good care of her, so she doesn’t break from me using her too much.
I stroked Setsuna’s head again. Not to raise her level limit, but purely out of lust, I devoured Setsuna’s body again, and she reacted with a lovely voice.
Part 5
After finishing my work with Setsuna, we entered a limestone cave deep in the forest so I could tell Setsuna something.
This place leads to the underground water vein that goes through the city. It’s also the source of the strange disease.
“Setsuna, I heard that the two Ice Wolves that were enslaved along with you died because they weren’t able to endure the suffering of the strange disease.”
“Un, right. Caught that disease at the merchant’s house after turning into slave.”
“In other words, they were indirectly killed by the disease.”
Setsuna tilts her head in confusion. It seems she still doesn’t understand what I’m trying to get at.
“The truth is that I knew that the disease was being caused by monster poison being mixed into the water supply. And then I saw a monster with that same poison near the Ice Wolf village. That’s when I figured it out. That disease was caused deliberately.”
Using magic, I found the location of this limestone cave, the source of the poison. This is halfway between the Ice Wolf village and Ranalitta. And to top it off the source of the poison is a monster that lives near the Ice Wolf village.
Anyone who came this far can understand it. I dragged out the thing that had sunk to the bottom of the underground lake in the limestone cave.
It was a monster that looked like a mix of a monkey and a crab. It was only half dead and it was bound by chains at the bottom of the lake.
And the wounds were secured by metal fittings so that its bodily fluids constantly came out.
“The mysterious disease was caused by the Ice Wolf race. The motive must be revenge. The timing when Setsuna and the other five Ice Wolves were kidnapped coincides with the start of the spread of the mysterious disease. It’s a clever way to kill a lot of people that you hate.”
I laughed. Jioral Kingdom is merciless, but in a way, the Ice Wolves are even more so.
If left unchecked, thousands will die. They were planning to destroy an entire city.
“… Then, Ice Wolves were reason behind Setsuna and others’ disease?”
“That’s right. Well, you could say the people at fault are the ones who kidnapped you guys, but the direct cause are the Ice Wolves. Now, Setsuna, let me ask you this:”
There was no reason to tell Setsuna about this. But I’m trying to make a hobby of watching other people’s revenge.
“I can make the poison even deadlier. If I do that, many more of the humans that you hate will die. On the other hand, I can tweak things to make medicine flow instead of poison, curing everyone from the disease. I can also find out who did this, this would be your chance to kill the Ice Wolf who killed your friends. I’ll let you choose. It’s a celebration of Setsuna becoming mine in the truest sense.”
Now, what choice will she make? No matter what she chooses, she’ll be hurt. That’s why I’m asking her.
“Keyaruga-sama, cure everyone. Make medicine flow out.”
Setsuna’s answer was the one I least expected, as it would save the humans she hates.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes. Don’t care about humans suffering, but don’t want people like Setsuna and others to suffer. Also…”
Setsuna paused and made a cruel smile.
“If going to kill anyway, do it with these claws. Boring like this.”
I ended up breaking into an applause. That’s the best answer I could have come up with.
A young girl, so distorted by her harsh environment. Until now, I thought Setsuna was a pure and sane person, but it seems I was mistaken. She’s broken enough, maybe even more than me.
“Then I’ll do that. Setsuna, I’m counting on you from now on.”
“Un. Setsuna also count on you from now.”
My journey for revenge has just begun.
Princess Flare, who had her memory whipped and became Freia, whispers her love for me, devotes herself to me, turns on her own country and accumulates even more crimes. I wonder how she’ll react when she eventually remembers everything.
Setsuna, the Ice Wolf girl, will support me as my accomplice and the person who understands me. She will never be able to escape me. My lovely possession.
By the time I realized it, the painful and lonely fights suddenly became enjoyable.
Now, what shall I do next?
There are many things I want to do, not to mention showing hell to the Sword Hero and the Gun Hero, who are still out and about somewhere.
This world belongs to me, and I can do anything I want. I laughed out loud.
First, let’s do something big in Ranalitta to get their attention. My revenge has just begun.
*TN: The place the Ice Wolves are going to is Erushie, the nation that Syril, the main character of Elf Tensei, creates. It’s a powerful nation that accepts people of races usually persecuted by humans, like the elves, Fire Foxes and now the Ice Wolves.
