Rook on the Seventh Rank - wind shield

Notes:

I'm currently working on a long fic (slow burn) that will tell the story of Asha (my Rook) and Neve. I'm currently working on chapter six and it will be a bit before I'll start posting it. These drabbles are technically happening after that story since it will be snap shots of key moments in their relationship Asha remembers after DAtV (and before the sequel I have ideas for). I don't think there will be any spoilers for the fic ('Rook on the Seventh Rank' will be the title) if you've played the game. I'm not inventing the wheel anew just sharing some new perspective from Asha.

I want to work on these drabbles to help me get to know my Rook better and getting her voice down and sharing some insight into her motivation and reasoning, since the long fic will be mostly (not all of it though) from Neve's PoV.

We're slowly getting to the end with these drabbles. I've finished al 30 and can now go back to the main-story.

Work Text:

Neve wasn't in the study, nor anywhere else in the lighthouse.

Asha was slightly worried, but more than anything else, she was pissed off.

She stepped into the Minrathous' streets; it was pouring. The rain was heavy enough that she couldn't see more than 30 feet, but there was one more place she wanted to check.

Summoning her magic she created a wind-shield keeping the rain mostly away from her, preventing her from getting soaked within seconds.

Asha rushed through the city towards the docks and only stopped running when she could make out Neve's form standing on the edge.
