Optinal A/N: So while writing the AU I had a few ideas on his backstory. An easy route was to make Sebastian (Murdoc's dad) a demon but that would mean there would be demon children everywhere and not just Murdoc. Another idea I had was to make his backstory sort of made up and make him spend most of his life in hell like any other demon but thought that was boring so automatically I made his mother a demon.
Murdoc was an unusual child.. unusual isn't the right word he just had hobbies such as hunting birds and rats with his bare hands and eating their raw flesh and drinking their blood or feasting on his father's rare but extreme nightmares caused by his past mistakes. Every kid is a little odd, right?
He started being in contact with other demons ever since he could remember, he didn't fully know his species until he was around 7 years old and he has been keeping it a secret ever since.
He did slip up a few times during his childhood though. One was when he was standing up to Tony Chopper, his bully.
Murdoc was at his limit, he was about to snap but suddenly everything he felt disappeared, he wouldn't react.
When Tony looked down at him, he saw hell.
Tony refused to interact with Murdoc ever again and it wasn't long until he changed schools to get away from him.
The second time was way later when Murdoc grew old enough to finally leave his house. Hannibal was in jail and Sebastian was in the living room, watching something on TV and drinking.
Murdoc couldn't just leave, he cast a spell under the house making it go down in hellfire. He walks out of the fire completely unharmed but the same couldn't be said for Sebastian. He was stuck under the burning building. He sees Murdoc walking away.
"You useless git! Get over here-"
Murdoc looks back at him, Sebastian sees what Tony saw years back. Except it was way worse now. He didn't just see hell, he saw the devil himself (at least that's what he thought).
Big horns and teeth with sharp and glowing eyes on a face that was like an animal's but not quite; wearing a crooked, cruel smile.
His fear was almost enough to make him forget about the pain he was in, he felt burning all over his body inside and out. Only a part of his body was on fire right now but he still felt it all over.
Murdoc walks closer.
"Vile brute."
Another step.
"Now I know what I raised."
Another step.
"Me. I raised you."
Another step.
"I gave you a home, a life."
Another step.
"I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!"
He looks down, Sebastian tries to grab onto him. He steps back.
"O potens, audi preces meas. Benedic me potentia tua. Incendit mundum."
His eyes turn red to pitch black. He casts hellfire on his father now, just a preview of his eternal torture.
He can leave...
But it's not enough yet.
Murdoc makes a deal with the devil as a half demon, using the techniques he learned from the demons he was in contact with as a child.
A deal exchanging fame and success for his... "corrupted" soul.
Sure it was a tough haggle but also an interesting one.
It wasn't the same policy as human or demon souls since his soul was a mix of the two (or demon x whatever his dad's species is supposed to be) but his soul would barely be any purer if he was a full demon anyways.
Until now anyone who has seen Murdoc as the demon he has only seen him while he physically was showing his demon side but something weird happened in D-Day.
"Just before Murdoc hit me with his car I saw something that I could only describe as... The Devil."
"I told you not to ask him questions, his mind isn't in the right place. Do you seriously think I'm the devil? Do I scare you?"
He chuckles
"Never said you were. I just..."
They look away from Murdoc.
"Can't shake this uneasy feeling..."
I haven't decided when but 2-D will be the first one to discover that Murdoc is a demon. They would be lying if they said they never suspected that Murdoc is a demon but he always gaslighted 2-D into thinking they were just making stuff up or jumping into conclusions, sometimes he just made fun of them for thinking so.
After 2-D, Russel and Noodle are told the truth of Murdoc being a demon.
A few details about Murdoc:
He has a demon and a human form, his neutral form isn't one of the two but instead a form between the two based on the corruption of his soul. He can usually change between any form he wants and he keeps himself in his human form for obvious reasons but if his soul gets more corrupt then he starts to get in an in between form based on how corrupt it is. If his soul is too corrupt then he gets stuck in the in-between form for a while, he can change to demon but he can't fully change back to human.
Human form: Normal eyes, normal pupils, one pink
Demon form: Sharp eyes, lizard pupils, one pink
Human form: long tongue
Demon form: longer, sharper and split tongue (like a snake's tongue)
Human form: Ears sharp on the ends
Demon form: Fully sharp ears
Human form: Phase 1 skin
Demon form: Chartreuse skin
Human form: Big fangs, normal teeth
Demon form: Bigger fangs, sharp teeth
Human form: Short and messy nails (ideal for playing bass)
In between forms: Long black nails → Long black claws
Demon form: Claws morphed with fingers
