Tw: panic for attack(?) idk man im sleepy
Detroit was surprisingly peaceful today.
No Decepticons, no superpowered humans, nothing! A day of rest for both Autobots and human civilians.
Everything was calm, Bulkhead was painting the back wall of the base with Bumblebee and Sari, Prowl was observing nature as always and Ratchet... Ratchet was sleeping in the sun outside the base, if the others see him, they probably will think he died… because it honestly looks like it.
Optimus already checked his pulse so there's nothing to worry about… he hopes.
He goes back inside the base. ‘…Ratchet wouldn't let himself die like that, right?’
Anyway, getting back to the subject, everything was calm, that is, until someone arrived at the base.
That someone was Wreck-Gar.
Optimus doesn't have anything against him, he's actually never spent that much time with Wreck-Gar and he needs to change that, Ratchet said he's a good bot and he trusts Ratchet. He just thinks Wreck-Gar is a little loud, but that's all.
“Hey! Hi! Optimus!” Wreck-Gar excitedly walks over to Optimus.
“Hello, Wreck-Gar.” He looks at the garbage bot. “What brings you here?”
“I, Wreck-Gar, learned something new!!” He speaks while hopping from one foot to the other.
“Really?” Optimus asks, he hopes that whatever Wreck-Gar has learned won't be weird.
“Yes!! Really!!! Can I show you?????”
Optimus nods. “Yeah go on.” He speaks in a monotone voice, but he can't lie; he's actually quite curious to see what Wreck-Gar has to show.
“Okay, get ready!!!!!” Wreck-Gar speaks with a wide grin on his face, and even though he tells Optimus to get ready, literally nothing and I really mean NOTHING would have prepared him for what he is about to see.
Right before Optimus Prime's eyes, Wreck-Gar's head explodes, his energon not only staining the ground where he stands but almost completely covering Optimus's face.
Optimus' body stiffens, he can't look anywhere but at Wreck-Gar's body and a deafening silence fills the room as Optimus takes a while to process what just happened.
His brain only starts working again when he hears a sound of something heavy falling, he blinks a few times and sees that what fell was Wreck-Gar’s headless and colorless body, his eyes widened in shock at the realization that this actually happened.
And only now has his brain registered the scent of fresh energon, making his stomach churn but no matter how hard he tries, Optimus can't move, he's unable to turn his head to the other side and even if he closes his eyes to spare him from this view, the smell and the energon on his face reminds him of what happened just some seconds ago.
He slowly looks around, it seems he was the only one who saw it. He looks back at Wreck-Gar’s colorless body, how will he explain this? What will he say to the others? What does he have to do now? How will he clean up all this energon? What just happened?
He tries to say something but no words come out of his mouth, he stands there like a fish out of water, without the slightest idea of what to do.
He finally seems to have regained control of his body so he reluctantly approaches the body and gives it a slight nudge with his pedes to see if he's alive.
“...Hey Wreck-Gar? Buddy? Are you really.…”
No response, not even a twitch.
“...Frag.” He clenchs his trembling servos and takes some steps back.
The silence becomes increasingly suffocating and heavy with each passing second and the longer he stares at Wreck-Gar's body, the more his vision begins to blur and more questions start to appear in his mind, like how? But mainly, why? Why did he do this? Why in front of him? Did he die for real?
Since when has his heart started beating so fast? And when did they turn on the heater? They shouldn't have. It's very hot here. This place has huge windows everywhere, why can't he breathe? Just looking at his body is making me nauseous but I can't stop looking. What should I do? Primus, I feel like throwing up—
Optimus's thoughts are abruptly interrupted when he feels a hand on his shoulder and, taken by surprise, he jumps back.
The person pulls their hands away from him. “Wow! Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!!”
Wreck-Gar's voice reaches the Prime’s ears and he stiffens again. He looks to where the body should be and sees standing, as if nothing had happened, Wreck-Gar, alive?
The disbelieving and traumatized look of Optimus tells Wreck-Gar that perhaps showing off his new ability wasn't such a good idea.
“...Are you okay?” Wreck-Gar asks, growing increasingly worried and nervous as more silent seconds pass.
The most Optimus can do is stare at Wreck-Gar.
Wreck-Gar pulls a surprisingly clean and comically large cloth from his backpack and hands it to Optimus without saying a word. He takes the cloth and wipes his face to remove the energon from it, until he breaks the silence by saying; “...I'm going to get the mops to… clean up this mess.”
If Wreck-Gar said anything, Optimus didn't hear because he immediately left that room. He needs to clean that up before the others see.
Meanwhile, Wreck-Gar waits there feeling guilty for having unintentionally traumatized a potential new friend.
