Chapter Text
It was a nice sunny morning in Alola, yet you expected nothing less from this place.
The sun was shining just right into the windows of your home, at which the beams of light glowed into your wooden and dusty house.
You were getting ready for the day. Dressing up and gathering important documents, all while your bitter black coffee brew in your coffee maker.
The scent that flew from the miracle machine was like heaven to your nostrils. You carefully placed down your paperwork onto a desk temporarily, and danced over with a smile on your face, ready for a nice warm cup of black coffee.
That grin that was plastered with super glue was fairly uncommon, as most of your days were just mundane and boring research. Which, you didn't mind at all, you were actually quite fond of your routines.
However, your routine was going to be interrupted today, because you'd been offered to come and teach at the Pokémon School!
To most people, that sort of invite would simply have a groan ghostly fall out of their mouths. Because lets be honest, teachers don't get enough credit.
But this teaching was different, because you would get to explain to kids the wonderful world of science!
Science had been a huge fixation to you since you were 10, the subject was your favorite from middle to high-school and you even went to college for it. At which you became a well known professor, but you preferred to call yourself a scientist. (You dont really give new trainers Pokémon after all.)
This whole recollection of the ways science had made an impact in your life left you zoning out as you poured your cup of coffee.
Which meant you accidentally overfilled and burnt your hand.
"GAH!" You screeched, the sound echoing in the lonesome house.
You quickly put down the mug and carafe carefully as to not spill any of the sweet sweet morning juice left.
You scramble over to the sink nearby, turning the nob to cold, and hold your hand still under the freezing water rushing down from the faucet.
This honestly isn't the first time you've been burnt, especially by coffee. (oh the betrayal...)
So thanks to these experiences, you know what to do.
After letting your hand rest under the glistening water for a few minutes, you take it out and place gauze over it tightly. Your other (non-burnt) hand moves almost in a blur as you swiftly wrap your hand in the bandage without a single mistake and a moment to spare.
You cut the bandage off from the source, and put away the remaining bundle of gauze incase its needed another time.
Checking the time on your watch that you almost never took off, you nearly jumped at the time.
You're gonna be late if you don't get movin'!
So with an unnecessary amount of adrenaline blowing through your veins, you swipe up your (now lukewarm) coffee, chugging it before it can be enjoyed, quickly pull your lab coat onto yourself, then trade the mug in your hand for the few files you placed on the desk earlier.
What a great start to your day already...
