New Plan

Work Text:

Vox sat in his office, humming softly as he swiveled in his chair. He crossed his legs onto the table as he softly sang a quiet tune to himself.

Suddenly, the doors to his office swing open, slamming harshly against the wall.

"YOU!"

Vox turned swiftly in his chair to face his new foe. He quirked an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?..."

His voice was quiet as the woman approached him, waving a finger rudely in his face.

"I oughta rip your fingers off and STAB THEM RIGHT INTO YOUR GOD DAMN EYES!!!!"

Vox eyed her, looking her up and down before laughing hysterically. He pretended to wipe the tears from his eyes, his signature smirk spreading across his screen.

"W- Wait Wait! Are you mad at ME?- Oh, that's hilarious!-"

Lute made her anger known, grabbing onto Vox's bow tie as she pulled him forward. His eyes widened at her action, surprised that anyone, especially a low-life angel, would do something so disrespectful. Rage began to build up inside of him as he realized the severity of the situation, little blue waves of electricity flowing through his antennas

Vox leaned over his desk as he slashed at her with his claws. Lute stumbled backwards as the claws ripped stripes through her shirt.

"Trying to scare me?..."

Vox let out a manic laugh as he stood.

"I'm in charge..."

He felt more powerful now that he had the upper hand, using his foot to push Lute down and onto the floor. She fell back first onto the floor tiles, her eyebrows furrowing in anger as she looked up at the boss.

"You should know better than to mess with me... As far as I'm aware, my name's all over Heaven!"

Vox pressed his foot deep down onto Lute's stomach, nearly making her want to vomit from the pressure. She wrapped her hands around his ankle, attempting to push his foot off of her, but to no avail.

"Get OFF of me, swine!!"

Lute growled back at him, finally managing to push his foot off of her. She backed away, sliding across the floor as she scooted herself against the wall.

"Scum like you doesn't deserve to be so powerful..."

Vox only scoffed at her insults, the heels of his boots clicking as he walked toward her. Ever so slowly, he reached her, watching in amusement as her body shook below him.

He bent down slowly, smirking as he observed her. Lute seemed intimidated, yet unwilling to back down. Vox raised his hand toward her, making her flinch and growl at the gesture. He released his pointer claw, tapping Lute on her chin gently. She only glared in retaliation.

"You never gave me your name!~"

"...My name is Lute, right hand of Adam..."

Vox realized what she said, his grin only growing wider.

"You must be handling his death horribly...-"

"DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK OF ADAM!!"

Vox's attitude shrunk ever so slightly, quickly arising again as his claws wrapped harshly around Lute's chin, gripping it. Lute flinched as the sharp ends dug into her face, drawing blood.

"Oh Lute... if only you knew what you were getting yourself into...~"

She scowled at his words, not knowing what Vox meant.. before she did. Lute soon found herself embarrassingly underneath his control even more as a light blue chain leash materialized around her neck. Vox took his hand off of her chin, grinning as he twirled the leash in between his fingers.

"Whatever you're doing, I want no part of it..."

Vox smirked before a thought crossed his mind.

Her soul. If he owned her soul, he would become even more powerful than anyone in Hell (or so he thought). His grin grew larger as he eyed Lute up and down. Vox pulled the leash closer to him, making her grunt in annoyance as she obeyed.

"Make a deal with me... imagine how amazing we could be togeth-"

"I refuse. I would never DREAM of making a deal with a demon scum..."

Well. Vox didn't expect that answer. Anyone else would've been euphoric to make a deal with THE Vox. His face blanked, being replaced with a blue loading screen. He had to think of some way to get her to make a deal with him. But how?...

...

"What if I help you?..."

Vox pouted slightly, wanting to show he was willing to help, yet not too desperate (though he was). He snapped his fingers, making the chain leash disappear out of thin air.

"What are you implying?..."

"...I could help you get revenge! Come on!! We could slaughter every one of them- Together! As business partners!... Trust ME."

Lute's eyes widened at the offer, her mind reeling. Was he being serious? She could use some help with her plan, and Vox seemed like the right man to ask. He surely had to know how charismatic he was...

Lute shakily held her hand out towards him, her eyebrows furrowing.

"I have a plan, and you WILL follow it."

Vox seemed shocked that Lute actually wanted to go through with this. He nearly choked on his own spit as his eyes widened. His grin now spread across his entire face, his hand shooting outwards to grasp hers. And then, he shook it.

Vox greedily shook Lute's hand, their hands wavering up and down quickly rather than a simple shake, as formal. Blue sparks of electricity filled the room, coming from the connection between the two. Lute winced in pain from the shocks as they engulfed her, slowly and painfully changing her form.

As the sparks cleared, Vox gasped at the woman standing in front of him.

"What?..."

Vox's eyes followed her up and down, observing her new demonic form. Now that Lute had made a deal with the overlord, she looked different. Small black horns grew from her forehead, her color scheme switching to black and blue. Her wings formed symbols of electric bolts on the insides, the lining of her wings becoming a dark blue hue. Her hair turned black, neon blue streaks complimenting the darker color. Her halo disappeared and grey bolts formed where her neck lines used to be.

Lute looked down at herself, realizing why Vox seemed so shocked. Her eyes widened, glaring back at Vox with a frown.

"Look what you did to me, scum!"

"Ah, don't worry, Lute! Ya look lovely!! Now c'mon and tell me about this plan of yours!!!"

Lute sighed before turning to Vox, folding her arms behind her back formally.

"Where do you want me to present this idea? Do you have a dedicated room for this?..."

"Just sit right here, I'm listening!"

Vox walked behind his desk, sitting in his chair once again as he spun around. He faced the chair forwards, crossing his legs impolitely onto the desk. He clasped his hands together, getting ready to listen to Lute's plan.

Lute sat in front of him in the flimsy blue and red chair sitting in front of his desk.

"First, we'll..."

The End! (until I decide to write a second chapter…)
