"Etho–!"
The voice rang throughout the house as Bdubs yelped out his boyfriends name. He sounded distraught and fearful, the tone catching Etho's attention as he quickly got up from his chair and walked over to the bathroom to see what had scared Bdubs.
He quickly reached the room, seeing the brunette standing outside of it, wrapped up in a towel as he clearly had just been about to take a shower. Etho briefly looked him over, not too upset about seeing the man just in a towel, but he ignored that for now. He wanted to figure out what had scared Bdubs so badly.
"What's wrong, 'Dubs? Something happen?"
He asked softly, walking up to the man and placing a comforting hand on the small of his back.
"There's a bug in there— please get it out! It's lookin' at me funny!" Bdubs replied with a whiny tone, his words almost making Etho laugh, though he held it back, knowing that Bdubs was actually scared of bugs.
Etho gave him a small smile, planting a quick peck to the mans forehead before walking into the bathroom. He walked into the white and green room, looking around for the small moment, through all he saw was Bdubs' clothes on the floor, a candle, and the shower curtains swung wide open. Glancing to the bathtub, he looked down to the edge, his eyes immediately landing on a praying mantis. Wait– a praying mantis? Since when did those things just waltz into houses?
The bug just stood still on the edge of the bathtub, observing Etho like some kind of watcher. He gave a small laugh before walking up to the bathtub and crouching down next to it. Slowly and carefully, he put out his hand, pushing the side of it up to the side of the tub, using his other hand to give the bug a small nudge, wanting to encourage it to go into his hand.
It didn't take long for Etho to figure it out, managing to coerce the bug into the palm of his hand, smiling down at it as he watched it seem to almost freeze. "Bug are more scared of you, than you are of them!" He had always told Bdubs, even if the man never listened. Etho understood it, bugs were weird, creepy and crawly, not exactly the most relaxing creatures.. but to Etho, he had always seen them in a different light— cute and helpful.
He gently took it in his hand, using his other to cup the bug in between them so it couldn't escape. 'Thank god it's not winter.' Etho thought to himself, he would've felt really bad if he kicked the bug out into the cold and the snow. Walking out of the bathroom to see his boyfriend still standing there, now cowering into a corner of the hallway as he saw Etho walk out with the bug very clearly in his hands.
Bdubs let out an overly loud squeak as he saw Etho holding the bug, tightening his grip on his towel, making sure it wouldn't fall while also making sure to get as far away from the insect as possible. It was a known fact that the shorter had never liked bugs— always loving nature, yet squealing like a girl whenever he so much as glanced at a spider. Etho thought it was a bit silly, but comforted Bdubs nonetheless, taking the bugs outside for the man.
With a quiet snicker, Etho walked past Bdubs, keeping the bug firmly cupped in his hands as he scurried down the stairs and to the back door. Stepping outside, Etho didn't bother with putting on shoes, walking out onto the soft, warm grass with bare feet, relishing in the nice feeling. Yea, he definitely understood Bdubs' obsession with nature, especially during the summer, like today.
Etho quickly walked over to the small potted garden that Bdubs had made, crouching down and sitting on his knees, watching as the other bugs that inhabited the garden hid from him with a a smile. He carefully reached out, allowing the praying mantis to crawl out of his hand and onto the cool soil.
It was a beautiful creature. Weirdly creepy in its nature, yet so beautiful.. he pitied it for its reputation to others, a weird bug with gross tendencies and weird killing patterns, a thing to be made fun of. It upset him to think about it.
The soft breeze blew past him, snapping him back into reality as he looked away from the bug and back to the door to his and Bdubs' house. He smiled softly once again, eyes wrinkling up and his scar straining against his skin near his eye. He felt a weird sense of adoration for his life in the moment.
Maybe it was the nice, warm weather— or maybe his cute boyfriend inside, maybe even just the idea of life itself. But he felt comforted in his life for once. No stress, no panic or worries, just calm for once.
He should head inside now...
Etho stepped back into the house with long strides, walking back up to Bdubs, who no longer looked terrified. He smiled at him as pressed a quick peck to the mans lips, gently stroking his hair before pulling away.
"All dealt with. I put it in the garden, okay?" He spoke to Bdubs with a soft tone of voice, watching Bdubs' expression to make sure everything was all good now.
"Alright... as long as that freakin' thing doesn't come back!—"
Bdubs replied with a whiny tone once again, clearly still pouting over his shower being interrupted before he had even started the water. He did let out a quiet chuckle though, showing that he wasn't too bothered by the ordeal, just a bit scared of bugs...
Etho thought "a bit" was an understatement, but he wouldn't mention that the next time Bdubs tried to defend his fear.
"I don't think you have to worry about that, just go take your shower now, ya look like you need it—"
"Hey! Ugh, you suck!"
