Chapter Text
Disclaimer, I have just watched the animated show of the Mighty Nein and I also have no idea about DnD ( but I might get into it with how invested the show has me) so if I get something wrong about the magic system or don't know something about the characters that has taken place in the campaign pls do not come for my throat. I hope you enjoy.

You blink, in surprise, in denial, in complete and absolute disbelief " What the fuck are you lot doing?" you asked the group of people you would like to call friends " Ok so Tonia found like a rift creating ritual on Rebbit and we're trying it out." said a boy as he placed candles around the room " I brought the- What the fuck is going on?" asked the girl coming up behind you " Put all that shit away, the study is a fucking fire Hazzard and we-" " Come on relax, it obviously isn't going to work and the only thing we have to worry about is you fucking something up. And let's say it works, will it really be that bad? I hate my life especially with Tonia as my sister." said the glasses wearing boy and getting cursed out by the girl " Lucas family is so overbearing that he tries to stay as far away from home as possible. The twins can have a good time anywhere. Hanna is burning herself out and your life is complete and absolute shit no matter how much you try to keep it together." he said and you frown at the malicious tone.
" Derek you-" you raised your hand to cut Hanna off " Ok, let's give it a try." you spat and Derek smiled " This is going to be so fun! Derek's page is always filled with arcane shit and so I picked one of the things he had archived." said Tonia grabbing the plate of pastries from your hands and laying it in the middle of the carpet " Ugh, how can you do that with bare hands, doesn't it feel mushy?" asked Olivia one of the twins " I think it would feel like dough." said Alex their sibling handing you a bottle of ink and a brush " Just replicate this, don't paint over the ingredients and don't step on them either." he spat and you rolled your eyes.
Eyeing the male as you drew his stupid magic circle ' He acts so high and mighty, prick.' you thought, probably feeling you staring he turned to look at you and offered you a smile and a raised middle finger ' Why you...if it weren't for Tonia I would have beaten your ass so bad.' you thought eyebrow twitching.
With everything being set up you all stepped into the magic circle, it still being open, Derek standing at the open side ready to spill some ink to close it off " Ok ( Y/n), me and Alex will be reading the scripture." said the male handing you and your friend a piece of paper " Why not me!? I wanna do it." said Tonia " Cause you're dyslexic and you're going to fuck it up." he hissed and you scoffed " You're taking this a little too seriously. But that's you I guess always with something stuck up your ass." you said and you all snickered except for Derek himself " Just read, or at least try to." he said handing you a dice.
You rose the colorful object up to your eye " Why do you have so many of these?" asked Lucas " He likes to collect them, like a crow collecting shiny things." said Tonia as Derek went back to his spot " Ok we will read it together and then when I tell you to throw the dice, you throw it." he said and you all agreed. Giving you a nod you, Alex and Derek started reading, the words didn't make any sense to you just like the glow that started emitting from under your feet " Derek! What the actual fuck, hey!" called out Tonia, you continued chanting fear of what might happen if you stopped creeping inside you as the floor cracked " Guys we should probably stop, Derek if this is a joke it ain't funny." said Hanna " THROW THEM!" yelled the male " I ain't doing this shit! I'm stepping out!" called Lucas only to back to an invinsible wall " ROLL NOW OR THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT OF YOU!" yelled Derek and this was the first time you had seen him smiling so gleefully and it terrified you.
Letting the dice leave your hand you closed your eyes expecting anything, mostly bad things, like hands emerging from the pits of hell and ripping all of you apart or falling into a black void. You did fall, but not into some elderich horror, you opened your eyes seeing a vast scenery of a picturesque landscape, a few houses here and there, you were falling slowly it felt more like floating as you took in the view and then you face planted on a bush.
" Oh dear, are you alright?" asked a female voice as you struggled to pry yourself out of the branches " I got her." said another woman and suddenly you were lifted up in the air " Hey there." said the woman holding you up from your hoodie " Eh, she's a lil scratched up but looks good to me." she said as you stared at her with wide eyes and and mouth agape " Or maybe she has hit her head." she said putting you down " Let me take a look at you." said the other woman " You...why are you green?" you mumbled still staring at the larger woman and the woman glared at you until a few drops of blood started running down your forehead and you went limb.
The women took you in their home " What are we gonna do now?" asked the half orc looking at her partner with worry " as she started mixing herbs and liquids " She's a child, probably not older than 20 and she's obviously not from around here. So do you want to just leave her out there?" she asked and the other woman shook her head. A paste was plastered over your forehead and head and the woman began chatting a light coming from her hand " Well then, I'm gonna start supper." she said cleaning her hands and walking towards the kitchen " Aria wait.." called her partner but the door already closed, she looked at you now softly snoring and poked your cheek.
Your nose twitched a mouth watering smell pulling you awake, you sat up, trying to get rid of the sour taste in your mouth and then everything came back to you. The ritual, Derek's crazed smile, you falling threw the rift, you shot to your feet, stumbling to the door you opened it. A short stature and light blue hair was setting a table " Ah you're awake, I though you would be out for another hour or so." she said " I'm sorry, emm...where am I?" you asked her " You're in Blumenthal, well a small carriage ride before it." she said " In the Dwendalian Empire." she said and she began to look at you with the same bewilderment " Well, were are you from?" she asked you " (....)" you answered and she looked puzzled.
A bitter laugh escaped you " It worked...no he knew it would work..." you mumbled covering your face " Are you alright. Come sit down." she said taking your hand and guiding you to sit down to one of the chairs. She left you to calm down waiting patiently until you got over your initial confusion and distress " So let's take everything slowly, I'm Aria Bryren." she said " I'm ( F/n)." you introduced yourself " Great, now how about you tell me what happened?" she asked you smiling at you softly.
