Your Warmth is All I Need

Summary:

Maybe it was because he was wearing a fluffy onesie, maybe it was because he was wearing reindeer socks snuggled in a blanket like it was the only source of warmth in this world. But the bastard only smiled.

Or some Christmas domestic fluff

Work Text:

It was cold. That’s all he could think about. The way the chill seeped into his bones, making their home as he internally succumbed to frostbite. His toes were cold despite the fluffy socks that adorned them, the little reindeer horns poking upwards as he tightened the blanket around him. It was an old thing, but it had seen so many moments of his crazy life.

And speaking of his crazy life. One of the main perpetrators of his arguable misfortune stared at him like it was his fault the heating decided to nope out of its single job in this life.

“What?”

Maybe it was because he was wearing a fluffy onesie, or maybe it was because he was wearing reindeer socks snuggled in a blanket like it was the only source of warmth in this world. But the bastard only smiled.

Smiled. Like he hadn’t been accusatorily staring at him for the last few seconds with the broody look of an emo protagonist.

“Nothing.”

And yet that slight quirk in his lips didn’t fall. “Here you go.”

Presented to him was a mug. Full of what he didn’t know, it could have been anything from poison to coffee, though that wouldn’t be too far off from the poison.

“It’s hot chocolate Dokja.”

He reached for the mug, silently lamenting the sudden lack of warmth from his almost cocoon, with grabby hands.

Taking a sip, the cocoa warming his insides, coating them in chocolatey heaven. The cream and marshmallows that sat afloat only helped the flavour.

“Thanks.”

Thudding next to him, in a sofa not quite small enough to exclude the other from his seat, but not quite big enough to have two adult men to sit like they weren’t in each other’s laps, Joonghyuk drank from his own cup.

He glanced over, a chocolatey moustache around the younger’s lips as he pulled the cup away.

All Dokja could do was chuckle. How had he charmed the great Yoo Joonghyuk into being his boyfriend? The pro-gamer, who people fawned over. Who had a face card so good it put actual models to shame. Chose him, a clumsy, overworked Minosoft QA office worker, and part time beta-reader for Sooyoung. How did he get here?

A soft poke at his side, brought his wandering mind back to the present. He was currently snuggled up next to his boyfriend in the cold of their apartment.

“You were wandering again.”

All Dokja could do was hum, nestling into Joonghyuk’s side, relishing in the warmth. It didn’t matter how he got here, he was here now. And he doesn’t think he’d ever felt this happy and content in his life.
