Work Text:
It was disappointing when the first communication from his parents after years of barely any contact was from his father’s assistant. A text not even asking how he’s doing, but one that’s forcing him to come over for dinner for who knows what for. Yeosang was luckily (or unluckily) free that night, so his father arranged a car to pick him up.
He had no reason to keep in touch with his parents, not when he hadn’t needed anything from them in years. Maybe it was some unconscious urge to prove he’d made something of himself, to become someone they could finally be proud of. But he knew he would never measure up to their expectations.
Arriving at his parents house felt weird, Yeosang hadn't been back in years. The structure and layout remained the same but the feelings were no longer there. After basically being discarded the moment his younger brother was born, it never felt like home anymore. When he moved out to live at the agency dorms, they didn’t bat an eye.
“Mr. and Mrs. Han are waiting in the dining room. The guests will arrive shortly.” The assistant led Yeosang to his parents. He still knew his way around the house, but it was clear he no longer belonged there.
Upon entering, the pheromones of his alpha father hit him immediately, and Yeosang had to will himself to ignore it. He didn’t want his father to see the weak omega side of him that he’s been told to hide his whole life.
The only acknowledgment he received from his father was a nod. Breaking the silence, Yeosang finally spoke about what had been weighing on him since he arrived. “Who are the guests we’re meeting today?” The idol couldn’t help his curiosity and also wanted to be prepared for the situation.
His father looked up, almost seemingly about to leave his questions unanswered but replied, “it’s the Sung family. We’re trying to come to an agreement on a deal, so just do as I say.” CEO Han Deojin is as stern as always, lacking any ounce of fatherly love.
Yeosang could only nod, politely putting his hands on his lap while waiting for the guests to arrive.
It didn’t take long for the doors of the dining room to open, and Mr. and Mrs. Sung walking in. His father stood up to greet them, showing the most friendly expression Yeosang’s seen all day.
“We apologize that our son couldn’t make it today. You know how kids are, always wanting to do their own stuff.” Mr. Sung spoke up.
“No need for apologies. I understand completely.” Yeosang’s father briefly glanced at him.
Shortly after settling in, food started flowing in. The meal was extravagant. Perfect cooked traditional Korean meals, all arranged in neat portions but it lacked the homey comfort feelings that typical Korean food emits. Yeosang could barely stomach the meal, taking nibbles here and there to appear polite.
“We would like to form a bond between your son and our youngest son.” Sung Youngmin put his chopsticks down, before looking at the idol. “He is an omega right?” Yeosang felt eyes on him, seemingly checking him out.
“Kyuseok, I think you will be pleased with my son. He might be the second born, but we’ve raised him to be the perfect alpha to start a family.” Mrs. Sung spoke to Yeosang. “The only thing I want is a grandchild. Our oldest son is too busy with work and with our youngest, we’ve let him do his own thing so we’re not even sure what he’s up to.”
Yeosang’s father let out a laugh. “Quite the opposite for us. Our youngest is already set to take over the company. I felt I’ve let Kyuseok fool around for long enough, it’s time for him to step up to his role.”
Everyone all chimed in agreement, going back to the main conversation at hand, ironing out all the details. Yeosang felt sick to his stomach. Apparently his role was just to breed out heirs to continue the bloodline. All his hard work to become an idol going down the drain, thrown away to become the housewife of some alpha he doesn’t even know the name of. If he didn’t take suppressants, his scent would have turned sour at the revelation.
Before Yeosang even realized, their guests were already getting up. “We’ll keep in touch about setting up a meeting for the two of you. Then we will start planning for the wedding.” Mrs. Sung spoke to Yeosang, grabbing him by the hand. The omega could only smile and nod. Even though she looked friendly and only wanted a grandchild, he felt nauseous thinking about the future.
Once the Sung family left, he was again left alone with his parents. “I suggest you wrap up your business and prepare to come back home.”
There was no room for him to protest, to beg, or even to walk away from it all.
-
“You’re back. How was dinner?” San greeted him as soon as Yeosang got back to his room. He was relieved to see his boyfriend, especially when he needed comfort after everything that had gone down.
Yeosang was never a good liar, but he couldn’t even wrap his head around the news he had just received. “It was good. My parents are the same as always, just grilling me about my life choices.” He shrugged, keeping his expression as neutral as he could.
It was well known among the members that Yeosang didn’t have a good relationship with his parents. And since San knew the real reason Yeosang had faked his secondary gender was because of his family, the alpha was on high alert the moment he learned Yeosang was visiting home. San invited himself over just to make sure the omega was okay.
“Go wash up and come to sleep.” The alpha tucked himself in the omega’s bed. Yeosang’s mood instantly rose when he realized San was sleeping over. They’d been limiting their sleepovers to avoid any suspicion from the other members, which made this one feel like a small luxury.
Yeosang didn’t sleep well that night. His mind was clouded by the thoughts of trying to come up with a plan. Even if he just simply ignored the arrangement, his parents were powerful enough to make anything go their way.
-
Yeosang was never a good liar, but he tried his best to move on with his life as usual.
“One more time! Please keep up with the beat! 6,7,8!” The dance instructor yelled out, the room filled with heavy breathing. Everyone’s patience was running thin as they started the song over again.
After weeks of barely sleeping, the exhaustion was catching up to him, and Yeosang could hardly make it through dance practice. The rest of the members and even the teacher were trying their best to not show their frustration, but Yeosang didn’t need a verbal confirmation to feel the vibe of the room.
After Yeosang missed the beat once again, the song stopped. “Okay, everyone. I think we’re done for the day. Please get some rest, we’ll pick this back up tomorrow.”
The room had a thick, and heavy scent from all the sweaty bodies but also a slight smell of annoyance. Although they were supposed to get a free day tomorrow, no one objected, which only made Yeosang feel more embarrassed. All he could do was grab his bag and walk out.
Unsurprisingly, San caught up with him. “Do you want to grab something to eat before heading back home?” Yeosang knew the alpha was trying to cheer him up, and the omega almost wanted to say no. But after all he’s done today, the least he could do was agree to San’s wishes.
It was already hard enough being an idol trying to normally eat at a restaurant, but Yeosang somehow always attracts the wrong people. Even with the amount of suppressants and scent blockers he put on every morning, his appearance still screamed ‘omega’.
Male omegas weren’t rare, but they were also not common. San, with his appearance already attracted his own fair share of attention, and with Yeosang next to him, heads turn the moment they walk in a store.
It was the same situation at this restaurant, Yeosang could feel the stares directed to them. The pheromones in the store increased, from both omegas and alphas. The omegas, of course, bet on the fleeting chance of San noticing them, and the alphas felt threatened by it, or perhaps even felt the same way about Yeosang.
“Let's quickly eat and get out of here.” Yeosang didn’t need to explain much, San already felt the unsafe environment around them. He started letting out pheromones, signaling to the alphas to back off. The situation could get worse if they stayed any longer.
Yeosang was already on edge from the engagement and so even after years of training himself to present as something other than what he is. Yeosang couldn’t help but fall into his instincts; the omega rushed behind his boyfriend, seeking safety from his alpha.
They made it back home without any issues and Yeosang let out the breath that he didn’t realize he was holding. The one thing they agreed from the beginning of their relationship was to avoid going to the other person’s room during the day. It was one of the many things they did to keep their relationship hidden from the others.
As they were going to part ways to their respective dorms, Yeosang tugged the alpha’s sleeve to stop him. “Can I…” San smiled and waited for him to finish his question. “Can I have your sweater?” Yeosang mumbled, suddenly feeling shy about asking. What he actually wanted was to have the alpha go to his room so they could cuddle and Yeosang would feel less anxious about everything.
San almost frowned, it was unlike the omega to openly ask for comfort this way. “Of course you can.” The alpha’s sweater was already half way off his body the second Yeosang asked him. “Are you feeling okay?” San handed Yeosang the sweater while feeling his forehead with the other hand.
“I’m fine. I just haven’t been sleeping too well recently.” Yeosang tried his best to lessen the alpha’s worries but it’s doing quite the opposite.
“Want me to stay with you? Yunho’s probably in a game and won’t even notice me.” San rambled, already leading them to Yeosang’s dorm. The omega tried to protest, but they still somehow ended up in his bed together.
“You want to tell me what’s on your mind?” They’ve been laying down for a while already, but Yeosang was still wide awake. He knew this conversation was bound to happen, and Yeosang had been preparing for the interrogation ever since they left the studio.
Yeosang’s first instinct was to deny everything but after a moment of silence, Yeosang began his story. “Promise you will hear me out?”
San pulled Yeosang closer than he thought was possible. And nodded against the top of the omega’s head.
“You remember the day I went over for dinner with my parents? There was a reason they wanted to see me.” Yeosang took a deep breath, mustering all of the courage to confess. “They’re forcing me to marry an alpha.”
San’s breath hitched, signaling his shock and his failed attempt of hiding it. The room was filled with silence, Yeosang braced himself for the alpha’s reaction.
The alpha reached for Yeosang’s hand, gripping it so tight, he winced from the pressure. “I can fix it. You don’t need to worry, okay?”
Yeosang’s words were cut off by the sudden kiss that landed on his lips. Before he could react further, San was already out of the door.
Now it was Yeosang’s turn to lay there in shock. Time seemed to slip away from him. The next thing he knew, it was morning and he was still alone in bed.
-
Yeosang was filled with anxiety the entire morning as he got ready for dance practice. His lips were bloody and bruised by the amount of biting he’s done.
His mumbles continued until he reached the parking lot of their dorm where the company van was waiting for them. Yeosang wasn’t the last person to walk into the building. The only other person missing was the one he hoped to see.
“Oh? You and San weren’t together?” Seonghwa commented as soon as Yeosang was in view.
“No. I haven’t seen him since last night. Was he not at the dorm?” Yeosang didn’t want to ask too many questions and throw suspicion on their secret relationship.
Seonghwa shook his head. The omega’s stomach dropped, knowing it was his fault that San was missing. Yeosang immediately called him but the voicemail message only made him feel worse.
“Maybe he’s trying to ditch practice. I’ll let the higher ups know, just focus on the lesson.” The manager reassured them, despite knowing this was a strange behavior from San.
Unsurprisingly, no one could really dance with a clear mind. And the teacher was getting increasingly annoyed by their mistakes.
“Yeosang! We went through this multiple times. You are always off beat.” The teacher still held some type of vendetta against him from yesterday.
Yeosang could only bow in apology, hating how everyone looked at him with pity. Sure everyone was worried about San, but Yeosang felt horrible knowing he was the cause of his disappearance.
The omega could feel the tears welling up in his eyes. Yeosang's been tormented by his thoughts for a couple days. The anxiety caused by his parents should have been relieved after sharing his condition with San, but all he could feel now is a breakdown coming on.
After knowing how many times he’s made a mistake, Yeosang gave up trying to pretend everything was okay. “Sorry,” Yeosang said before stumbling out of the practice room.
Exclamations rang throughout the room and fell silent as the door slammed shut. Yeosang’s world was already crashing down and San leaving him was the last straw. A tiny logical part of his mind screamed at him, telling him that the alpha would never disappear without a word.
Yeosang ran out of the company building, unable to stay in the practice room any longer. He barely made it a few steps from the front door when suddenly a gloved hand covered his mouth. His screams were muted by the unknown alpha, as he was dragged into a van. He struggled against the ropes binding his arms together. His mouth was gagged shut by a piece of cloth. The van started driving but he had no idea where it was heading to.
In the silence, Yeosang only had thoughts about how he ended up in this situation. Was it some crazy stalker fan? Or was it just his bad luck?
Despite having suppressants in his system, Yeosang was starting to feel the effects of being in a confined space with an alpha. The alpha was not using any scent blockers nor was he restraining his scent in.
The constant free flow of pheromones spiked up his anxiety and slowly wore down his suppressants. They were driving for what felt like an hour, when he finally was dragged out of the vehicle. Yeosang was unsteady on his feet, his whole body feeling weak. The omega was seconds away from releasing his own distressing pheromones. He was led inside a building when his blindfold was removed.
And never in a million years did he think he was going to be standing in his own parent’s house.
There was no one to greet him, so Yeosang tried turning around and walking out of the door. But the same man who kidnapped him was standing in front of the door, clearly not letting him through.
“Kyuseok! You’re finally here.” Yeosang’s real name felt foreign, even coming from his own mother. It felt even more wrong when the tone didn’t match the situation. Was he kidnapped by his own parents? Everything seemed perfectly normal to them, while Yeosang was still trying to make sense of his own reality.
“What is the meaning of this? Why did you hire someone to kidnap me in broad daylight?”
-
“You cannot keep me locked up here.” San exclaimed, facing his parents, the same parents who decided they were not letting him leave. The alpha came to their house earlier that night, hoping they would be able to help with Yeosang’s situation. His parents did not budge from their seat on the sofa. The body guards stood still by the door.
“Can you at least tell me why?”
“It’s because you haven’t been replying to our messages. If you did, you would have known what this is all about.” San’s mother held his phone up, which was confiscated from him the moment he came home.
“This is insane. Can you at least let everyone know I'm okay?” The silence from his parents was telling enough. He was not leaving until they finished their agenda.
-
“The wedding date has been moved. The Sung kid was giving them too much trouble, so we just decided to finalize everything and do everything this week.” His father revealed the reason for his abduction.
Yeosang couldn’t hear past the ringing noise in his head. His heart sank under the weight of reality, the reality that this was it for him. He didn’t have time to even try to get out of it.
Yeosang thought about San’s words from last night. I can fix it. You don’t need to worry, okay? He almost laughed at the sickness of the situation; forced to marry an unknown alpha, and his own alpha leaving him.
He didn’t know how he got to his room, everything was a blur and all he wanted to do was curl up somewhere safe. Yeosang stumbled around the room, his disoriented mind trying to find the best place to rest.
The omega hasn't made a nest in years, the closest thing was the plush comforter on his bed. Even then, he would keep it neat, worried that Yunho or his other band mates would discover what he’s been hiding.
This time was no different than the other, he wouldn’t be making a nest here. Yeosang staggered to the closet, huddling up in the farthest corner, the safest corner. He felt so tired, as if the entire week had finally caught up to him. His vision blurred, everything bleeding together before the edges went dark.
The omega woke up to more sounds than he expected. His eyes slowly opened, sluggishly becoming aware of his surroundings. Yeosang felt like he was hit by a car, his whole body aching.
“You’re finally awake. I forget how fragile omegas are.” Yeosang recognized his mother’s voice, even if everything was still hazy. She huffed at him, clearly unhappy with Yeosang. “When will he recover? His wedding is tomorrow.”
Another voice spoke, Yeosang assumed it was a doctor. “I’ve given him some pheromone stabilizers but the best way for him to recover is by receiving an alpha’s pheromones.”
“Just do what you must for him to walk down that aisle tomorrow.”
Yeosang didn’t know when he closed his eyes, but they flicked open at the sound of the door slamming. He noticed the beta doctor messing with the IV bag hanging next to him. “What happened?” Yeosang managed to ask a question.
The doctor looked at him with pity. “You had an omega drop, and you’ve been asleep for a day now. To recover faster, you would need the pheromone of an alpha.”
Yeosang dropped only one other time in his life, back when he was still living with his parents and after a particularly bad fight. Back then, his only option was to just ride it out by himself.
“I don’t have any of my alpha’s pheromones with me.” Yeosang faintly answered, despite the doctor not asking him a question. The omega unconsciously realized that his alpha wasn’t here with him, and not knowing if he would ever be able to see him again.
The beta, alarmed, tried his best to stop Yeosang from spiraling and worsening his drop. “I didn’t know you had an alpha, which changes things but I will speak with your parents. Maybe someone can get a sweater or-”
Yeosang cut his sentence off, grabbing the doctor’s arm. His scent slowly became stronger and sour. “No. They can’t know about him. Just give me some artificial pheromones. I’m not bonded or anything, so it’ll be fine.” The omega slumped back down after stopping the doctor from leaving the room.
“Even if you’re not bonded physically with a bite mark, you can still be emotionally bonded. Artificial pheromones can do more harm than good.” The beta tried to explain, but Yeosang's silent tears made him pause his words.
“My mother wants me well enough to get through tomorrow. It will have to work.” The omega turned his head away from the doctor, eyes shut as tears flowed out. He was too tired to argue and to face his new reality.
The beta sighed and did as Yeosang requested. He sprayed some pheromones into the air and onto a small towel. “I’ll stay to monitor you for a bit. Try to get some more rest.”
The towel was placed near the omega’s face. Yeosang’s nose scrunched up at the foreign smell. His instincts were fighting each other; half of him wanted to gag and push the fabric away, while the other half wanted to rub his face against it, craving any alpha’s scent for comfort.
Eventually his logic won. Knowing this was the only way for him to get better, he left the piece of cloth where it was. It stayed close enough for the scent to comfort him, yet far enough that he didn’t feel ashamed of himself.
Yeosang was shaken awake by a staff member he didn’t recognize, but he soon learned she was one of his mom’s assistants. “We need to start getting you ready. You never did suit fitting so we need to get that sorted out.” The omega quickly realized that even if he was still not feeling his best, he had to pretend he was.
His whole body ached, and he felt dizzy from sitting up. The omega was handed a scent patch and a pill. “Take this and put the patch on after you’ve washed up.” Yeosang quickly recognized the pill as a suppressant, and wasn’t surprised that his parents didn’t want him to go into heat in the middle of the ceremony.
Once he was done showering, he walked out into his room being turned into a salon and a tailor at the same time. “Take off your shirt and come stand here so he can measure you.” Yeosang felt extremely exposed, standing in nothing but his underwear in a room full of people. He had no idea how they could possibly have a custom‑made suit prepared in time for the afternoon ceremony.
The rest of the morning blurred together. He was being moved around the room for various services. His hair was dyed from blonde to black, and at some point, someone came in with food. Yeosang's stomach rumbled, he felt nauseous from the nerves but forced himself to eat. He’s been sleeping for over a day and knew he needed to get something in him before he passed out again.
Before the scheduled time for him to leave, the tailor came back with the finished outfit. It was a beige suit jacket inspired by a traditional hanbok. The wrap‑style front was secured with a side tie, and with matching beige trousers, the choice wasn’t a surprise. It would be like his mom to put him in a lighter, more gentle color to accentuate his omega status. The look was complete with a silver apple blossom brooch pinned to the left chest of the jacket.
Things moved quickly after he was dressed, Yeosang was led to a car where the same assistant from this morning got in with him. The venue was quiet, almost eerily so. The only people around were staff setting up last minute touches. He was once again led to a room where he was told to sit and wait.
It’s like a sick form of torture, making him wait before his fate was to be sealed, his life to be forever tied to an alpha. The adrenaline from this morning, being moved around to get ready started wearing off. The longer he sat here waiting, the more he’s starting to feel the effects of just barely recovering from the drop.
Before the tiredness could fully sink into his bones, his father walked into the room. Yeosang stood up while his father looked him up and down. “The Sung family are already seated, and Hyeonwoo is already at the altar.” That was all he said before walking out of the room.
Yeosang quietly followed him, while thinking, Sung Hyeonwoo? Is that the name of the alpha I’m about to marry? He almost laughed at the absurdity of it all, he was steps away from the ceremony hall and he had just learnt the name of the person he was to spend the rest of his life with.
Time slowed starting from his walk to the main room and the doors opening. His eyes darted around the room, it was a small group. He could see the Sung family on the right side, and his family on the left. The rest of the room was empty save for a few close family friends. The last person his eyes landed on was the alpha standing at the end of the altar.
Yeosang’s knees almost buckled at the sight, but the tight hold his father had on him kept him upright. He blinked a few times to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. The closer he got to the end and was able to see the alpha’s facial expression, he realized he wasn’t the only one seeing things.
San, who was standing at the end of the aisle, shared a similar expression on his face. As Yeosang continued walking, he looked around the room to see if this was a hidden camera prank. Why was San standing there, in a black suit matching Yeosang’s, in the spot where the groom is supposed to be?
The alpha’s eyes never left Yeosang from the moment he walked in, afraid that if he blinked even once, he would wake up from the dream. When Yeosang got to the altar, San grabbed his hands, once again confirming this was real. A gasp was heard from the guests, none of them expecting such a display.
The officiant began to speak, but Yeosang didn’t hear a word. A mix of emotions surged through him, he felt relieved but also confused. “Do you, Sung Hyeonwoo, take Han Kyuseok to be your lawfully wedded spouse… to cherish until death do you part?” He missed bits and pieces of the question but his attention was brought back once the room went quiet, waiting for an answer.
San looked at the omega, trying to get some sort of reassurement from him. Yeosang gave a slight nod and a smile to the alpha, confirming that this is what they are doing. “I do.” San declared, the tension in the room immediately lessening.
“Do you, Han Kyuseok, take Sung Hyeonwoo to be your lawfully wedded spouse…?” It came time for Yeosang to answer the question himself, he thought it over, and the answer couldn’t have been any clearer when it was San standing in front of him.
Despite the unconventional steps leading to them standing face to face with each other at the altar, Yeosang couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. “I do.” He responded, while looking at San’s teary eyes.
The rings were presented to them, simple silver bands. Yeosang’s hands trembled as he slipped it on San’s finger.
“I now pronounce you lawfully wedded husbands. You may kiss the groom.” San hesitated but slowly wrapped his arms around Yeosang’s waist, pulling him into a kiss. The omega’s instincts have been on edge for the past couple of days, and the light touch from the alpha almost has his knees buckling.
Yeosang swayed a little on his feet, once they pulled apart from the kiss. The exhaustion hit him suddenly, he’s been pushing himself to the limits all day. San held him steady, concern written all over his face. A staff member, presumably the wedding planner, led them to the reception area. Yeosang was finally able to sit down, trying his best to power through the inevitable conversation.
With the unorthodox ceremony and union, they felt awkward being the center of attention in the room. There was a cake on a table but no one touched it. Their parents spoke to the small group of guests and slowly made their way to the couple.
“I’m glad everything went well, we’re excited to have you join our family.” San’s mother pulled Yeosang into a hug. The omega stumbled, not expecting such an embrace from her. “How did you two meet? This clearly was not the first time you’ve met each other.”
“I should be asking you guys the question. We could have just worked something out instead of forcing us this way.” San nearly exploded with anger, knowing how much distress the situation caused them.
The parents looked confused, before San’s father spoke up, “I assure you, even if we spoke civilly, we would not have come to an agreement. You didn’t even show up for the initial dinner when we discussed this.”
“I would have agreed if it was Yeosang… I mean Kyuseok.” The alpha confessed, the weight of the sentence didn’t go unnoticed by the group. Yeosang, who had stepped back to stand next to the alpha, clasped their hands together.
“So no one knew we’re in the same idol group?” Yeosang finally cut to the main point. That no one cared about them enough to even look at what they were doing in their lives. The careers they worked so hard for was nothing in their eyes.
Yeosang’s father scoffed, “We got lucky then, I thought it was going to be a whole thing trying to get you both to say yes.” He reached over and patted San on his shoulder. “About time for you both to stop fooling around and be adults now.”
“Hyeonwoo, I’m eagerly waiting for grandkids. And especially since you two already know each other, I’m sure I won’t have to wait long.” Mrs. Sung happily announced. San immediately cringed at the thought. Not because he didn’t want to have kids, but they were not ready.
“Mother, we want to continue our careers. Please.” San begged, not willing to give up the dream they finally accomplished. “We have spent years building this career, even if it’s not one you guys would approve of.” He looked at both parents' faces, expressing his desire. “Yeosang and I aren’t just bandmates, we’ve been dating for over 2 years now. And kids are definitely something we both want… just not now.” He finished his speech by moving to go down on his knees.
His father immediately stops him. “That’s enough.”
“I realize now there are many layers to this. If I’d known you were already seeing each other, I wouldn’t have pushed this marriage.” San’s mother almost sounded remorseful.
“Mrs. Sung, I’m actually grateful for this wedding. Standing next to your son on that altar made me realize how much I love him.” Yeosang sincerely thanked her, “I wouldn’t have it any other way, but like Hyeonwoo said, we need more time.”
San’s mom, teary eyed, nodded “how could I say no after seeing how in love you guys are. I thought Hyeonwoo was married to his work, never going to find someone; but I realized I was wrong.” She pulled Yeosang into a hug once more, "Like I said earlier, we’re excited to have you join our family.”
Tears were shed, and even more hugs were exchanged. Yeosang’s parents stayed indifferent, either angry or happy. It hurt him seeing how they didn’t care, but it was better than them objecting. The two of them didn’t linger long after the conversation with their parents.
After seeing how unsteady Yeosang was, San led him to the waiting room. “Let me get you a glass of water. Wait here.”
The omega slumped back into the sofa, finally able to lay his head down. San came back into the room a couple of minutes later, water in hand. “Han Kyuseok, huh?” The alpha chuckled, repeated his name. “What are the chances that we’re both heirs of a business empire?”
“Well Sung Hyeonwoo, I think that’s called fate.” The omega teased him back. “Ugh that’s so weird. No one has said my name in years.”
San leans in for a kiss, “let’s hope it stays that way. If the public ever found out about our real identity, it would be a huge disaster.”
Yeosang knew they had more to talk about, more to disclose, but all he could do was hum in response, burying his head deeper into the crook of the alpha’s neck. “I want to go home.”
-
Arriving back at the dorms was as bad as they could imagine. They showed up after being missing for days, still in their suits, with shiny new rings on their fingers. San avoided the storm of questions from Seonghwa and Mingi, and headed directly to his room, with a sleeping Yeosang in his arms.
“I’ll explain everything.” The alpha affirmed to the other members, and pushed the door closed. He gently laid Yeosang down, and sat at the edge of the bed.
Yeosang sat up, no longer pretending to sleep.“What are we going to tell everyone?” He spoke quietly, ensuring their conversation can’t be heard from outside.
“I want to tell the members, but it’s your decision. Telling them about our marriage will also mean telling them about your sub gender.” San thought out loud, but Yeosang had the same contemplation. Was he ready to face the reaction of the truth being revealed? The same lies that he’s hidden since before their debut.
Yeosang slumped against San’s shoulder. “I’m tired of hiding it all.” He tried not to be sappy, but in just a couple of weeks, his whole life has been turned upside down. “I think after this whole situation, I realize how quickly things can change.”
The alpha wrapped his arms around him. “We can deal with this tomorrow. You’ve been through a lot the past few days.” After San learned that Yeosang went through a drop alone, his instincts couldn’t leave the omega’s side.
The alpha takes off Yeosang’s scent blocker patch, and lets his own pheromones out. He takes this rare opportunity to scent him, after holding himself back for the sake of keeping their relationship a secret for years. Yeosang also took it all in, relishing in the alpha’s scent surrounding him. The whole room filled with the blended smell of pine trees and green apples; fresh with a hit of sweetness to it.
-
“Can we just stay here, like this forever?” Yeosang woke up in the arms of San’s, feeling more refreshed than he’s felt in weeks.
San hummed in agreement, “It sounds amazing but I know everyone must be anxious waiting for us outside. The other looked confused, not realizing they had company over. He groans, willing himself to get up and deal with what could be one of the worst days of his life.
The moment they turned the corner, the whole group went silent. Everyone was sitting in the living room, waiting for the two of them to wake up. “Good morning, it’s nice to see you both well.” Seonghwa spoke up first, ushering them to come sit down.
The atmosphere felt awkward, everyone waiting for the two elephants in the room to start explaining. It didn’t help the fact that Yeosang was saturated with the scent of San’s pheromones.
“You guys want to explain where you disappeared to? We almost called the police thinking you were kidnapped!” Hongjoong exclaimed, clearly worried about them. “The only reason we didn’t call was because management knew you guys were okay.” The leader frowned, now sounding hurt. “I thought we were all close enough to tell each other everything. To be honest, it felt like a slap to the face the fact management knew before us.”
Yeosang started shrinking down as Hongjoong continued to lecture them. He felt awful, knowing he was hiding the biggest secret of it all. “Well… about that.” The omega sheepishly scratched his head, trying to make a joke at the wrong time. “I’m really sorry for disappearing. I really did get kidnapped.”
Hongjoong’s eyes widened, and so did everyone else’s in the room. Even San, who Yeosang didn’t get a chance to tell, was in shock.
“But I’m fine. It was my parents who set it up-” His words were cut off by San.
“I think we should start from the beginning.” The alpha’s eyes were pleading, also wanting the full story of what Yeosang went through. They should have had this conversation in private first, but they’ve barely had time to rest.
The omega nodded, fidgeting with his hands. San immediately held them, which didn’t go unnoticed by the others. The alpha started letting out calming pheromones to balance out all the distressed scents in the room.
“I’m sure by now you all can guess that I’ve been hiding the fact that I’m an omega.” Yeosang bluntly stated to the group. “I regret hiding it from you guys for as long as I did but… I guess it was hard to do something other than what I’ve known my whole life.”
Everyone was stunned by the confession, some of the members had suspected but how could anyone ever believe their suspicions were true m. They've known Yeosang and lived with him for years, he had always been a beta in their eyes.
“But… how? How have you hidden this from us for this long?” Wooyoung especially, was the most hurt. The omega had been Yeosang’s friend for the longest, being there for the other omega through everything.
At this point, Yeosang had already started crying. He couldn’t help but feel guilty for breaking everyone's trust, and hurting the people he cares about the most. Through his tears and sniffles, he recounted his childhood memories, the relationship he had with his parents and what led to the current situation.
“I went no contact with my parents when I started my training. It wasn’t until a week ago when I was told I was to be married with the son of another company so they could close a deal.” The omega couldn't help but snicker, still laughing at the ridiculousness of it.
“And that’s where I come in.” San eventually spoke up, but there was confusion on everyone’s faces. San cleared it up by answering, yes, he was also an heir of a conglomerate, and no he had no idea Yeosang was also one. Then he explained his side of the story, getting locked up by his parents, seeing Yeosang at the altar and how being in a relationship for 2 years was enough for them to marry each other.
“To be honest, the craziest part of his story wasn’t the fact you were both held hostage by your parents, but how you were secretly dating for 2 years without us knowing.” Wooyoung exclaimed
Yunho laughed, “speak for yourself. Do you know how many times I caught San leaving Yeosang’s room in the mornings?”
“So what does this mean now? Are you both still going to stay in the group?” Hongjoong said the one thing everyone had on their minds. How would their new revelation affect the group?
San nodded, “Things will obviously change but we just want everything to go back to the way it was the best we can, but with no more secrets between us.”

“Do you know how sad I was that I missed not only one of my best friend’s wedding but both of my best friend’s wedding?” Wooyoung exclaimed, voice ringing through the airport.
“Wooyoung, we’re literally on our honeymoon that you guys all wanted to tag along in. Trust me, you didn’t miss out on anything.” San playfully teased, even though it was the newlyweds who invited all the members on a trip.
“For what it’s worth, Wooyoung, it was barely a ceremony. And we left after like 10 minutes.” Yeosang replied to the other omega.
The group is spending Christmas together, desperately needing the bonding time after everything that has been revealed. They were grateful the company allowed them to take off, and San might have guilt tripped his parents to pay for their honeymoon. It might not be the Swiss Alps, but with the limited time off they had, they decided that a luxury chalet in the mountains of Hokkaido, Japan, does the trick.
The scent of pine hit them the moment they stepped into the house. The fireplace was already roaring. A view of the village can be seen outside the floor‑to‑ceiling windows, with the ski lifts visible in the distance. The living room was complete with a Christmas tree, creating the perfect cozy holiday atmosphere.
“This place is insane.” Yunho couldn’t help but be in awe of the sight, just like the rest of the group.
San laughed, suddenly sheepish under their reactions. “Don’t get used to it. My parents stopped giving me money the moment I started to sing and dance with you people. This is a one time thing.” His words went unheard, lost to the excitement as everyone moved on to explore the rest of the chalet.
Yeosang, smiling at the scene, held out his arm. “Shall we go check out our room?”
San smiled back, eyes crinkling and dimples deepening as he let his husband lead him down the hallways.
