Like a God that Seizes the Body

Summary:

He knew Bakugo could get jealous sometimes. The blond was a bit… controlling.

He had his location—he knew his every move
He controlled who Midoriya talked to, who he hung out with, and when he visited family.

And Midoriya failed to notice the problems until they piled up.

Until it was too late to turn tail and run.

Work Text:

Midoriya knew the relationship he had with Bakugo was strange. Fighting was their constant. They couldn’t exist without going at each other's throats. Yet this was the very foundation of their relationship.

It's unhealthy.

But conflict? It's fuel.

Although Midoriya knew this relationship had gone too far when he found himself with a swelling headache and his wrist chained to the bed.

The soft groan of the door startled Midoriya, his heart rattling. He turned to face the door, watching Bakugo walk in.

Bakugo’s eyebrows are knitted together. Disappointment is evident on his face.

“You know why I had to do this…” Bakugo says softly, looking down at Midoriya. “Zuku… you’re always causing trouble for me.” He sighs softly, “Why can’t you just sit still? Why do you insist on leaving me?”

Midoriya could feel the drop in his stomach.
Bakugo knew he was planning to leave? But how?

Midoriya hesitated. “I…I wasn’t leaving, I swear!”

Bakugo walked towards the bed and sat down, causing the bed to dip. He took his hand and touched Midoriya's face, reverently. Despite how soft his actions were, Midoriya could feel it—the anger that was simmering under the polite smile Bakugo wore.

“My Zuku..” He whispers.

Bakugo stares at Midoriya, his gaze feels like a cage.

Bakugo is a predator.
And Midoriya is his prey.

Midoirya gulped; the saliva felt thick in his throat.

“K-Kacchan…. I’m sorry,” Midoirya lowered his gaze, too afraid to see Bakugo’s reaction to his next words. “B-but.. You’re controlling, and you're paranoid! What you’re doing is not healthy.”

Midoriya hesitated.

“This relationship—it's not healthy.” Midoirya could feel his heart drop, but he continued anyway. “Maybe we should break up.”

He did it, he said the words he was too afraid to say for months. So why is his heart constricting? Why is his face wet? Why does his body feel hot—too hot?

Oh.

Bakugo is on him, he's hugging him tight, and he’s crying. He can smell the caramel wafting off him. It's intoxicating.

Midoriya sighed. “Kacchan, please.. Don’t cry.”

“Z-Zuku.. Please! Please.. Don’t leave me.” Bakugo choked out. “I love you so much it hurts.. I can't live without you!” Bakugo sounded desperate—he was desperate. “You can’t leave, I won’t let you.”

Midoriya watched Bakugo unravel. It was unnerving.

I made Kacchan cry. Midoriya thought. He could feel the guilt creep up. He made the only person who loved him so much cry. He’s such a terrible partner, such a terrible person. His heart churned, and it hurt so, so much.

Midoriya could feel his body tremble as he began to speak. “K-kacchan.. I’m sorry….I’m sorry! It's my fault, Kacchan!.. My fault.. I won’t leave, I’m sorry!” His face was flushed and wet. Pathetic.

Midoriya is Pathetic.

He felt so guilty. So so guilty.

But he could also feel the fear that he tried to keep down creeping up.

He wasn’t scared of Kacchan, how could he be? Kacchan loved him and took care of him. Even if he was a bit controlling. Midoriya tried to internalize these thoughts. Accept them as the truth. It would be better that way.

Bakugo held Midoriya even as the sun began to retire.

When Midoriya woke up he could feel legs that had grown on him like a vine. Bakugo was cuddling him. The headache was gone and the chains that bound him to the bed were removed.

Was it normal to knock out and chain your partner to the bed when they didn’t listen to you? Probably not.

Midoriya attempted to roll Bakugo off him but was met with resistance

“Zuku…” Bakugo whined into Midoriya’s neck.

“Kacchan.. Get off, I wanna freshen up.” Midoirya complained.

“Dont wanna..” Bakugo replied.

Midoriya sighed, accepting that he wouldn't be leaving any time soon.

Kacchan is a constant. Through love and hate there is always Kacchan.

So why does Midoriya have this itching feeling to run away? To run away from the overwhelming love that Kacchan gives him? Is it love? Can you even call it that?

Or is it just possession.

Does Kacchan want to keep him in a bird cage and control his every being? Like a doll—a Deku.

Kacchan would never want to hurt me, he just loves hard like everything he does in life. He has to do his best—be the best. Right? Midoriya’s thoughts were scaring him. He loved Kacchan but he was also afraid of him. Afraid that the love Kacchan gave him would eventually swallow him whole. Leaving nothing behind.

“Mmh… love you Zuku..” Bakugo slurred in his sleep. He was holding Midoriya even tighter.

It hurt.

Bakugo’s love hurts.

It was overwhelming and inevitable. It refused to let go.

Like a God that seizes the body.
