Chapter Text

It’s a quiet Thursday afternoon in the spring. The sun is shining through the fluffy white clouds, and the air is comfortable and warm. Satoru is thoroughly enjoying his time, sitting in the shade of his porch. He has decided that he prefers to work outside when the weather is nice, so he doesn't feel like he's missing out.

He started this routine this season, having grown tired of the gloomy winter months. Not that he doesn't like the cold, cloudy weather, and snow. But he definitely prefers the sun. It makes him feel less… depressed.

Satoru moved into this house not too long ago. He moved away from his family and closer to more important things, such as his friends and fun activities. He won’t settle for anything less than at least nice neighborhood and nice house, so he has settled down here.

The only issue with this neighborhood is sometimes with the neighbors. Most of them just mind their own business, but there were a few who didn’t at first. And the amount of people who have tried to talk to him while he sat outside was too many for his comfort. Especially since none of them were his type, let alone his age.

But he had chatted to enough of the neighbors as the “new guy”, and they all knew him now. This meant he could get away with just a quick smile and a wave before they moved along. But it still bothers him a little.

Satoru is sitting on his comfy porch loveseat outside, happily typing on his laptop. He is wearing his favourite comfortable clothes too, which are some loose, dark blue sweatpants, a light grey shirt with a white cat printed on it, and his round sunglasses. To anyone watching, he seems happy with the progress he is making.

Until Satoru looks up from his laptop at the sound of quick footsteps. He always looks up when someone walks by his house, he can't help it. It's very distracting from his work sometimes.

For instance when Satoru looks up this time, he's greeted by a pair of very nice looking pecs.

A tanned, muscular man with shocking pink hair is jogging by. He is wearing only a pair of running shoes and black shorts. His hair is slicked back, showing off his sharp features and strong eyebrows. Though the thing that surprises Satoru the most is the amount of tattoos that adorn his body. From what he can see, there are solid black bands around the man’s wrists and upper arms, circles on his shoulders, and many more bold markings on his torso and face. Satoru isn't against tattoos. If they're done well, they can look very sexy. He is simply surprised that someone with so many bold tattoos would move here of all places.

Now, this is the first time Satoru has seen this mysterious and attractive man around his neighborhood. He definitely would've remembered him among all the suburban moms and grandparents.

Satoru’s eyes sweep over the pink-haired man’s biceps, and his arms swinging as he jogs. His pecs bounce ever so slightly with every step, drawing Satoru’s gaze to them once more.

As the man passes by, Satoru swears he sees him glance up at his porch where he is sitting. But he doesn't see anything else, because he quickly looks back down at his laptop screen to hide.

Satoru leans forward to watch the strange man again as he moves further down the pavement. This time, he can see the man's stunning back muscles and shoulder blades. He scans everything that he can see, etching it all into his memory.

It takes awhile for Satoru to get back to work after that. His mind is now filled with images of tattooed muscles rather than thoughts about his assignment.

But he manages, because he has to for college. And once he finds a nice spot to stop and rest, he heaves a sigh and brings his laptop inside. Through the front entryway, down the hall, and into the kitchen. Still all he can think about is those beautiful muscles. Satoru places his laptop on the kitchen table on his way to get something to eat. He decides on an easy sandwich and a soda, which he opts to bring back to the porch. For no particular reason, of course.

As he closes the door behind him and moves to sit back in his usual place, he looks up only to see that amazing man again. He’s paused, checking his phone on the sidewalk. Though he is just far enough away that he has his back to Satoru’s house. He watches him slip his phone back in his pocket, and sees something fall out as he does so.

The bare chested man, however, starts jogging again without realizing.

Satoru puts down his food and stands up to get a better view of the sidewalk. There is indeed something on the ground where the man had been standing.

He goes down the front steps and across his small lawn to the sidewalk. Satoru squats down to closely inspect what was dropped.

As he gets closer, he realizes it must be that man’s wallet. He picks it up and opens it to confirm. Inside, he sees a driver’s license with the man’s recognizable pink hair and face tattoos. He looks at the rest of it, but only gets to read the surname “Sukuna” before he hears footsteps coming back his way.

Satoru looks up, already suspecting he knows who it is. And he is correct.

Satoru’s eyes light up as this “Sukuna” approaches him.

“Oh, thank God! Here's your wallet, you dropped it.”

He greets Satoru with a smirk, and reaches out for his wallet.

“Thanks, uh…?”

His voice is so rich and deep, Satoru almost doesn't realize he is supposed to respond.

“Oh! Satoru! Gojō Satoru.”

A pause. Then a slow nod. “Sukuna.”

Noticing how Sukuna is almost as tall as himself, Satoru continues failing to hide that he's checking him out. They both stand there for a moment, as if they are testing each other to see if they will continue the conversation.

Satoru caves.

“Say, I haven't seen you around here before. Did you just move in?”

Sukuna pockets his wallet and shifts to rest his hand on his hip.

“Yeah, I moved in last week. I've been unpacking, so I haven't gotten the chance to explore the neighborhood yet.”

As he says this, his eyes smoothly trace Satoru up and down. But the latter doesn't notice. He's too busy trying not to openly stare at Sukuna’s chest.

Satoru nods understandingly. “Well, welcome to the neighborhood! If you need any help you can ask me. You're free to bother me as you please!”

Satoru flashes Sukuna a sideways grin. He hopes he isn't coming across as too strange.

Sukuna lets out a short laugh before responding. “Alright, I'll hold you to that. I'm down in 119, in case you want to find me.”

He then turns to head back to his house, giving a quick wave goodbye. And Satoru will swear by it that he sees him wink as he does so.

Satoru almost doesn't notice that he's still standing in the middle of the sidewalk, but he also doesn’t care. He's distracted, staring at Sukuna’s ass as he walks away, his hands in his pockets. He turns Sukuna’s words over in his mind as he finally returns to his porch.

If he wants to find him… oh yes, he definitely does.

After finishing his lunch, Satoru reluctantly heads back inside and locks the door. He's still replaying his interaction with Sukuna in his head.

Oh how he wants to feel the muscles of that incredible man… preferably while he is leaning over him in bed—

His phone buzzes, interrupting his train of thought.

Turning it on, Satoru sees a message in his group chat with Suguru and Shōko.

‘Bangs’ 🍬: “Are we still on for lunch this Saturday?”

Satoru unlocks his phone and types a quick reply.

“Absolutely, do u even need to ask?”

Suguru reacts to his message with a heart. He sits down at the kitchen table where his laptop is, scrolling Instagram while waiting for Shōko to reply.

It takes several minutes, but there is another buzz.

Shōko 🧠: “I'll be there.”

Smiling, Satoru opens his laptop once again. Though this time, not for work. He wants to see if he can find out anything about his new hot neighbor.

He texts the group chat again as he begins his search.

“Guys, you'll never believe me, but a SUPER hot guy moved into my neighborhood. I ran into him on the sidewalk earlier.”

This time, Shōko immediately responds.

Shōko 🧠: “Alright. Now tell us what you were actually doing.”

Satoru snickers to himself, she knows him so well.

“I was stalking him as he was jogging down the sidewalk in front of my house. Then on his way back he dropped his wallet, so I picked it up and gave it back to him. We made small talk, and I think I've got a chance!”

He sends a series of fire and 100 emojis after this message, which prompts Suguru to respond with a laughing emoji.

‘Bangs’ 🍬: “Well don’t keep us in the dark, what’s he look like? I thought there weren’t any hot people in your neighborhood.”

Satoru pauses for a moment, deciding what to say. He continues his search for any account with the name “Sukuna” in it while he formulates his thoughts.

“He’s got bright pink slicked back hair, simple black tattoos all over his body and face, and his muscles are HUGE! I mean his PECS, man…”

Shōko sends a rolling eyes emoji at that and says nothing else. She doesn’t really understand “boy-talk”, she prefers girl-talk.

‘Bangs’ 🍬: “Sounds exactly like your type. Let me guess, he had a deep voice too?”

All Satoru can do is send a voice message of himself sighing, and then saying “Yeah man…” at the end. Both Suguru and Shōko react to the message with a laughing emoji.

After seeing the reactions, Satoru starts searching again. But even after looking for nearly half an hour, he can’t find any accounts that look like they belong to Sukuna. He sighs in defeat and shuts his laptop again. He needs to take his mind off this.

He spends the rest of the day focusing on engaging tasks, such as reading a new book or playing a game. It works, for the most part. Until he gets into his nightly routine.

This is becoming a problem. Satoru still can’t stop thinking about Sukuna. He is lying in bed and trying to fall asleep, but he keeps seeing his face when he closes his eyes. As he finally manages to drift into slumber, his mind is still full of thoughts about tattoos and pink hair.
