Was this ever going to end?
He could have sworn their opponent had already been knocked down but he kept getting back up. He should have stayed back at the hideout
“ HEY I NEED ANOTHER PORTAL”
“ GOT IT” Finral yelled back before an explosion went off
“ Work on your timing, my face almost got messed up if anything were to happen to me Marie would get worried. And Marie doesn’t need to worry about her big brother “ Gauche glared at him as he walked away mumbling
Yeah, that’s another thing
It seemed that no matter what he did there was always something wrong with it. He was their superior damnit they shouldn’t be talking to him like that.
“ GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF THE CLOUDS FINRAL AND TRY BEING USEFUL FOR ONCE” Captain Yami yelled as finral flinched out of his thoughts
He focused on the battle in front of him which came to a swift end when both Asta and Captain Yami were able to land a damaging blow on the enemy that kept him pinned for good
“ And don’t even think about getting up you damn cockroach “ Yami said taking another drag of his cigarette
“ Now let’s tie this guy up and go home,” Asta said excitedly tying up their opponent
“ You might want to wait on that I used too much of my mana while fighting earlier so I can’t make another portal for a while “ Finral said as Yami scoffed his scent growing irritated
Gauche growled from behind him causing him to flinch.” That’s alright, Finral, take all the time you need. You were a big help after all” Asta said, smiling at him. The other omega seemed to be the only one who didn’t think he was useless
“ He needs to hurry up the longer we stay here the longer I’m away from Marie “ Gauche complained
“ At this rate, we’ll be better walking back to the base instead of waiting for Finral to get one of his useless portals open “ Yami scoffed
You literally use my portals to go to the bathroom. How useless are they? Finral thought but he had to admit each complaint hit a little too close to home
“ Don’t listen to them, alphas are always impatient. I think your portals are awesome “ Asta said as Finral smiled softly

“ I shouldn’t have bet everything on that last game. If it wasn’t for that stupid, good-for-nothing, distracting me, I could have one. Where is Finral anyway” Yami said looking around
“ Beats me but hey at least they didn’t take everything “ Magna said holding up his grimoire
“ Oh yeah, I forgot at least we still got our grimoires. It would be nice to go home and put some clothes on but our useless spatial mage is nowhere to be found “ Yami complained loudly as the people around them turned to stare
“ Seriously the guy can go anywhere he wants yet he still isn’t here he needs to be “ Magna continued failing to realize the souring scent that came from behind them
“ I’m right here in fact I’ve been following you guys around this whole time “ Finral said as the other two turned around
Yami just scoffed as he walked through Finral's portal. Magna followed the two chatting about their wins and losses throughout the night
You could have at least said thank you
Finral forced back tears as he closed his portal behind himself rushing to his room as he shut the door. It was dark and quiet. No one seemed to know he existed if it wasn't for the fact that they needed him to get anywhere fast.
Asta seems to be the only one who saw him as something more than his grimoire. He moved to his bed not bothering to take off his magic knight's robe as he lay in his nest the different scents curling around him like a blanket.
He doused off quickly all of the comments of the day weighing on his head

“ Say you’ve got yourself a spatial magic using omega don’t you?” One of the drunks in the bar asked Yami
“ Yea but he’s really not much “ Yami said shrugging the other off
“ Really I’m surprised you haven’t mated that omega yourself considering how useful spatial magic can be “
“ Why the hell would I mate Finral he’s not even a good omega on top of that his spatial magic isn’t even all that “ Yami snorted downing another drink as Finral found himself spacing out in the corner
It wouldn’t be the first time he heard this evermore but they never seemed to get easier. He always found his scent souring even when he tried his best to say the words didn't bother him. But there was only so much a guy could take before he snapped.
Was he really that useless? He always tried to make himself useful, even used his magic to help everyone out even if it left him drained at the end of the day.
Why did everyone always call him useless whenever he made a mistake?
“ Hey Finral let’s go “ Yami said standing up from the bar as finral walked towards him from the other end of the bar. The only reason he had stayed with Yami was in hopes of getting a date but because his captain was talking about him so loudly no one would look at him.
He spent the night standing in the corner like a rejected puppy until it was time to leave

Since when was he the errand boy? He could have sworn Captain Yami said that Asta was in charge of getting all their supplies so why was he buying everyone shampoo and toothpaste?
“ Oh just my luck of course they would be out of the only things I need “ Finral said, deflated
Captain Yamis is going to kill me
He walked out for a few minutes hoping to stall and find what he was looking for but to no luck m. He accepted defeat as he opened a portal. It led him straight to black bulls hide out. Everyone crowded around him as soon as he stepped inside
“Where's all the stuff” Yami said looking at him
“ They didn’t have any “ Finral said preparing for the backlash
“ The hell do you mean they didn’t have any?” Magna asked
“ The lady said they had run out in the morning and that they wouldn’t have any ready until tomorrow “ Finral explained as Yami's scent grew dark
“ Wasn't I the one who told you to go first thing in the morning do you think this is a joke “ Yami growled out causing Finral to shrink
“ How was I supposed to know they would run out so quickly “ Finral threw back but Yami's grip tightened as he yelped
“ I give you one little job to do and you can’t even do that you worthless piece of crap “ Yami said as Finral felt himself shutting down
“ I’ll do better next time “ Finral answered mind half empty
“ Yea you better or there won’t be a next time “ Yami said letting him go as he fell to the ground. The others walked away not even bothering to help him up as the finral lay on the ground head spinning and eyes glazed over
When will I ever be enough?

Today was the day
He was finally going to make himself useful.
“ Man, I really wish I had some booze” Vanessa whined after waking up. When she sat down on the couch a bottle was waiting for her. “ Guess today’s my lucky day “ She said as she started drinking
“ Marie would have loved the plushie too bad it was sold out “ Gauche said before Marie appeared in his mirror
“You're the best big brother ever “ Marie said holding the plushie he was hoping to buy for her
“ Who g- nevermind I’m glad you liked it “ Gauche said as Finral moved around the common room slowly fulfilling any wishes his friends had to the best of his ability
“ Luck must be on our side today everything’s going perfect “ Asta said smiling as he sat on the ground of the common room playing with Nero
“ I swear there’s always something that goes wrong but that doesn’t seem to be the case today “ Noelle said as Finral felt a small smile creeping up his face
Even if it was direct praise it made him feel appreciated that everyone was having a good time because of him.
“ Where the hell is Finral I swear he’s never where you need him to be “ Yami said walking in as he looked around
“ If you looked behind you I’m right here “ Finral said as Yami turned around sharply grabbing the other by the hair
“ The hell did you just say to me you son of a bitch. Last time I checked I’m still your captain so show me some respect.” Yami said before letting him go
“ I need to go to town so take me there and make it fast I ain’t got all day “ Yami said as finral nodded his head still pounding from where Yami had grabbed him
Guess he couldn’t fulfill everyone’s wishes
“ I can’t I don’t have enough mana “ Finral said as Yami scoffed
“ What do you mean you don’t have any mana all you’ve done is sit around on your ass doing nothing all day “ Yami said as Finral dropped his head
“ Just give me a minute and I’ll take you “
“ Nah don’t bother I’ll go on my own “ Yami said heading out the door
“ Don't make a mess while I’m gone or it’s your head “Yami said before the door slammed
“ Who wants to spar with me “ Luck said bouncing around
“ Did you not just hear what Captain Yami said “ Noelle said
“ Yea but he’s not serious” Luck said before the door opened again
“ I’m dead serious “ Yami said before the door closed again

Finral's head felt fuzzy. His body felt hot and whatever he did he couldn’t get his eyes to focus. He whined loudly and high-pitched before he stopped himself.
What was wrong with him
Before he could process what he was doing. He was already up and stumbling out of bed. He could feel his own scent getting stronger but he couldn’t do anything to fix it.
His mind felt blank as he walked towards the laundry room. The baskets piled high with blankets caught his attention as he walked towards them. They were clean and they didn’t smell like anything which made him whine.
Before he knew it he was pushing the baskets through his portal before stepping in himself. He appeared in the common room. It was empty, which was to be expected so early in the morning.
He moved around pushing everything towards the walls. He was exhausted but something kept forcing him to continue until the common room was unrecognizable.
He moved towards the baskets, the scentless blankets making him whine softly as he moved them around. It felt empty but his hands didn’t stop moving even when his visions started to burn from the tears.
It took a while, but when he was finally happy with the results he found himself purring despite the pain. He heard someone moving around as they finally appeared in the common room.
“ Hey Finral, what are you doing “ Asta asked looking around as his eyes landed on Finral who was seated in the middle of the large nest.
“ WOW this looks amazing Finral can I go in “ Asta said already approaching the border of the nest as Finral stared
Finral nodded as he watched the other step carefully to not damage his nest. The other then started rolling around his scent seeping into the sheets as he moved around. Finral let out a sigh of relief before he stood up.
He didn’t know where he was going but he set out down the hall where everyone’s rooms were. He knocked on the first door he found figuring that whoever was on the other side would be asleep.
“ Hey Finral, why the hell are you knocking on my door? “ Magna said, appearing next to him.
Finral didn't move, he just turned to face the other. He grabbed the others' hands walking further down the hall.
“ Where are we going?” Magna said but didn't move to remove himself from the others' grasp. Finral stumbled to the door before knocking.
Luck appeared looking tired but his eyes lit up as they landed on Magna. “ Come to challenge me so early “ Luck said, bouncing in front of him but Finral grabbed his hand ignoring the lightning that coursed through his palm.
He turned back to the common room dragging them behind him. Gordon appeared mumbling something as he followed them. Luck kept insisting he and Magna fight but magna shut it down claiming it was too early.
Finral guided them into the large nest. Placing them around as he stared at him almost as if he was waiting for something. “Why is he staring at us like that “ Magna whispered into lvuks ear as the other shook his head
“ I have no idea but all these blankets are making me tired “ Luck said laying down. He kicked a lump in the blankets which turned out to be asta
“ Hey guys, when did you get here? “Asta said, rubbing his head where Luck had kicked him. As Finral left once more probably to get more of their members
“ Do you know what's wrong with Finral “ Magna asked as Asta shrugged
“ Sister Lily told me that sometimes omegas go into a sort of trance when something happens, or if they’ve suppressed themselves for too long many that’s what’s wrong with Finral “ Asta explained
“ No way There’s nothing wrong with Finral. A sharp whine was heard from down the hall as Gauche appeared by the nest
“ What the hell is wrong with Finral he’s lucky I didn’t kill him “ Gauche said but settled down in the nest either way
“ Marie would like it here, maybe I should give her some blankets so that she can make one herself, “ Gauche said, staring at the picture of his sister.
Back with Finral
The tears fell as he held the hand where gauche had slapped him. He whimpered as he made a metal checklist of who was still missing.
Charmy and Vanessa had gone out on a mission with Noelle who was forced to go because Captain Yami said it would be good for her to experience battle with her superiors. Grey had been gone since the beginning of that week.
He whined as he realized his nest wouldn’t be complete without them. He would have to make do with those who were home. The last person he had to get was Yami.
The alpha was always difficult to find and Finral was already whining at the fact that maybe the other wouldn’t like his nest. The tears continued to fall as he tried to wipe them away and make himself look presentable
It all came crumbling down when Yami opened his door already growling at him. “ The hell are you doing bothering me so early “ Yami growled out as Finral stood sniffling in front of his door
“The hell happened to you “ Yami said as he stepped out closing his door behind him
Finral just shook his head as he grabbed Yami's arm guiding him back to the common room where his nest was. He felt better by the time they reached it, the tears gone at the thought of finally having everyone around him.
When he found his nest empty it felt like a punch to the gut. The door to the hideout opened and Vanessa walked in with Charmy and Noelle trailing behind her.
“ Hey, Finral what’s the matter “ Vanessa quickly rushed over hugging him as she looked around observing the empty nest in the middle of the common room.
She looked at Yami who just shrugged. “ he came to my room all snotty and shit don’t look at me like I did something “Yami scoffed lighting a cigarette
Vanessa guided Finral to a chair letting the other sit as she gave him a glass of water. Charmy placed a large plate of sweets in front of him which Finral took, stuffing his face with the cupcake.
“There has to be something else we can do he looks so miserable “ Charmy said pouting as she watched Finral eat
“ Where the hell is everyone I swear no one is here when you need them “ Noelle said scoffing
“ Go and round up everyone it seems like this’ll take a while “ Yami said looking at Noelle and Charmy who nodded
Yami looked back at Vanessa and Finral, finding that the latter had fallen asleep. The view irked him for some reason but he punched it away. Vanessa made quick work of putting Finral in the large nest he had made.
“ How the hell did Finral manage to build this? “ Yami said, seeing how all the tables and other furniture items were pushed against the walls.
“ That's what makes me worry he’s never done anything like this before so I’m wondering what could have caused this “ Vanessa said as Noelle and Charmy came back the whole squad behind them.
Asta was missing and after waiting a little longer they found him wrapped up at the far end of the nest sleeping peacefully.
“ WAKE UP DORKSTA” Noelle yelled, slapping him as Asta jumped up.
“ WHAT WAS THAT FOR “ Asta yelled as everyone shushed him quickly as Finral stirred
Finral opened his eyes looking around, eyes still glazed but still clearer than before. As he looked at everyone’s faces he poured softly as he moved around the nest pulling even one inside.
When Luck tried to leave Finral growled at him getting louder as the other continued to leave. “ Stop that” Magna said hitting him lightly
“ What he looks funny “Luck said staring at Finral as the other shrank a little
“ Okay, can anyone explain to me why he won’t let us leave? He's stopping me from seeing Marie, “ Gauche said as he looked around. Everyone shrugged before Noelle spoke up
“ He’s experiencing a sub drop although this one seems to be less harsh” Noelle explained
“ What the hell is that and how the hell do you know about them “ Asta said as Noelle felt her face get hot
“ My brother Nozel, he would sometimes go through them. The doctor said they happened because he was always so lonely and the constant pressure caused him to shut down. His were much worse though.
He would spend the whole day pacing until he finally settled in his room with the door locked. Fuegolean would sometimes visit during those times but there brief “
“ I knew those two had something going on “ Yami mumbled before Noelle continued
“ The doctor said the best way to get through them was to have people close to you give you scented items or even stay with you. Solid and Debra would help him since Nozel didn’t want anything to do with me “ Noelle finished as the others nodded
“ So he’s like this cause we don’t give him enough attention “ Magna said hoping to get all the facts straight. Noelle nodded
“ I thought he was different than those needy omegas he’s always with “ Gauche scoffed as everyone glared
“ So what we’re stuck here until he says we can go “ Yami said as Noelle nodded once more
“The fastest way is to scent him and make sure he’s doing alright “ Noelle explained
“ I’ll right we need to do this in an orderly fashion so we don’t overwhelm him the last thing we want is for him to run in the state” Noelle said
“ Well start with those closers to him and work our way around “ Vanessa said as she took the liberty of going first
Finral's purrs grew louder the longer he was scented. By the time it came for Yami's turn, he was already swaying, eyes closing slightly. Yami scoffed as he picked up the other to scent him. Finral went limp as he closed fully leaving Yami to do all the work.
“ Since when was Finral this light I could have sworn he was heavier “ Yami said placing the other back down next to him making sure to keep an arm around him firmly as the other purred loudly in his sleep.
“ Guess we do always overwork him it was a matter of time before he burned out “ Vanessa said softly
“Guess he isn’t that useless after all “ Yami said as he got comfortable
“ Might as well get some sleep since it looks like we’ll be here a while “ Yami said but gauche just scoffed
“ I’m leaving “ he said standing up but Finrals purrs took a sharp turn as he started growling sensing that someone wanted to leave
“ Sit your ass down if you don’t want me to kick you into tomorrow “ Yami said as gauche sat back down
