GIGGS play Deltarune!

Summary:

GIGGS play deltarune, thats it.

@mellozheist on Tumblr came up with this idea and I ran with it :3

Notes:

As it says in the summary, @mellozheist came up with this, I take no credit!

I have only played the first chapter myself, but ive watched enough people play it to feel that I know enough to write this!

This is my first fic I've made by myself, so it will probably be slow in updates.

Chapter 1: Intro

Chapter Text

Most of the GIGGS were just chilling in the main living area in their shared apartment, the area uncommonly quiet for once.

Impulse sits curled up on one side of the couch working on some homework on his laptop that is resting on the arm rest. Skizz is sitting on the couch with him, leaning on Impulse as he scrolls through TikTok, showing Impulse any he finds funny or interesting. Meanwhile, Scar and Gem are sitting on the floor playing some type of card game on their coffee table. Gem is obviously winning with the sighs and huffs from Scar proving it.

But of course, nothing can stay peaceful for long in the GIGGS crew, as the door from Grian's room bursts open. The same man walks into the living room with a giant grin on his face.

“Uh oh.” Scar says under his breath towards Gem. “I know that look, he's up to nothing good.”

Scar wasn't quiet enough as Grian whips his head around to Scar as he squawks in betrayal, putting a hand to his chest.

“How dare you! I was just coming out with a fun game” Grian says, putting his hands on his hips.

Skizz snorts and looks to Impulse. “Nothing good” he repeats Scars words. Impulse chuckles along.

Grian huffs and slumps, giving up. “Anyways…” he says, dragging the syllables along “Toby Fox made a new game and I wanted to see if you guys wanted to play!” he says, upbeat back into his words as he holds his switch up.

“Who's Toby Fox?” Gem breaks the silence with a tilt of the head, trying to wrack her brain of who the guy is.

If anyone had any words to describe what look Grian gave her, it would be pure horror.

“Toby Fox! Undertale! One of my favorite games I've talked about all the time to you?” He says waving his hands around.

Gem thinks for a moment before shrugging. “Nope, not ringing a bell.”

Grian looks around to everyone else frantically, hoping that someone knows the game name or something about it.

Everyone else shrugs to him except for Impulse. “Well, I know of the game and I've watched a little of a playthrough, but that's it.” he says, rubbing the back of his neck as he watches Grian sputter with betrayal. He then just sighs and moves to sit on the ground by the two card players, resting his chin on a hand.

“I would have us play Undertale right now to expose you all to the wonder of it, but we don't actually need to play it as Deltarune and Undertale are in different universes.” He says, still grumpy.

The others look between themselves, silently conversing with each other before Skizz looks to Grian with a shrug.

“You know what? I'm down to play, besides, I've been wanting to do some voice acting for a little bit.” Skizz says, sitting up from against Impulse and making room on the couch for someone else to join.

Impulse nods to Skizz's statement, saving his work on his laptop and shutting it.

“Same, and besides, you gotta show us how it's done.” he says with a wink towards Grian, trying to make him feel better from their lack of education on the game.

Scar hops up next “I'll go get the snacks!” As he dashes off to the kitchen. Gem follows slowly after, muttering something about making sure he doesn't eat all the snacks.

Grian's smile is wide as he perks up, standing back up and going to the TV to set up the switch to play Deltarune.

It takes a while for everything and everyone to be set up and relaxed. Grian sits in the middle of the couch having both controls in his hands. Skizz and Impulse sit on either side of Grian, leaning into the arm rests with drinks and their choice of snacks on the side tables.

Scar and Gem have pulled out their own beanbag chairs they have in their rooms, (you cannot tell me they don't all have at least one beanbag chair to each other's name) and are sitting in front of the couch with the coffee table between the two of them for even more snacks.

“Alright, everyone ready?” Grian says, his words being met with cheers and yeses. He settles into the couch and grins. “Let's do this!”
