Chapter Text
Thank you for reading! I don’t own any of Harry Potter! Please let me know if you enjoy!

It had taken an elaborate scheme for three Slytherins to sneak into the girls’ rooms in Gryffindor Tower.
“I think that one’s Granger’s.” Blaise whispered.
“No, that one’s hers.” Goyle nodded.
Blaise quietly stepped forward and grabbed a red and orange striped tie lying on a wooden trunk at the end of a dormitory bed.
The initials sewn onto the tie were seen just as he stuffed it into his pocket.
“H.G.”
“Don’t you think this is a bit juvenile?” Draco Malfoy hissed as he stood with his two accomplices.
Although Hogwarts had been different after the end of the second wizarding world war, some things had still managed to remain the same.
“Lighten up, Malfoy.” Blaise hissed as he cast him a condescending scowl.
Goyle bit his lip to stop from laughing as Draco threw Blaise a scowl of his own in retaliation.
As the three boys turned and dashed from the room, mindful to leave before the masking charm they had cast wore off, he frowned at another Gryffindor tie he spotted on a nearby trunk.
The second tie had the initials of his worst enemy clearly sewn across its exposed back for all to see.
“H.P.”

If Hermione had discovered who had stolen her tie, she never mentioned it to her friends.
Although Draco did notice that Blaise was often missing for evenings and mornings for the rest of the term.
Each time he returned, he offered little to no explanation about where he had been or what he had been doing, but Draco had more pressing issues to worry about.
The discontent between his parents had mounted during the war, exploding once it ended
Lucius and Narcissa soon found themselves in the middle of one of the most publicized divorces in wizarding world history and Draco was inevitably caught between his two warring parents.
On and on, the court battle dragged as the Malfoys squabbled over everything from property to family heirlooms.
Months after graduation, late one January evening, Draco sat in his father’s study as he waited on Lucius to return home from his workday.
A loud pop suddenly rang out to announce apparition.
“I apologize for my tardiness.” Lucius sniffed as he threw his head to toss his long, blonde hair out of his face, his black cane clicking against the floor in time with his expensive, leather boots, “A meeting with one of the other governors ran longer than I anticipated.”
“Don’t worry about it, Father.” Draco sniffed.
Lucius pulled his overcoat off and sat his black, leather satchel down on his massive, ebony desk while he asked his son, “What was it you wanted to see me abou-“
“-WHAT IS THAT?!” Draco shouted suddenly.
Lucius’s blue eyes followed his son’s gaze all the way to…..
…….The striped Gryffindor tie that stuck out of the side of his satchel, the sewn initials on the tie clearly displayed to Draco’s horrified eyes.
“H.P”
“IS THAT HARRIET POTTER’S TIE?” Draco screeched, “WHY DO YOU HAVE POTTERS TIE?! FATHER! FATHER!! W-WHY DO YOU HAVE POTTER’S TIE? OHH! OH MY-H-HOW COULD YOU?!”
Lucius nearly choked on his pride as he swallowed and calmly hissed, “Draco, listen to me, I-“
“-I’m going to be sick!” Draco wheezed as he shakily stood from his chair, covered his mouth, and ran from the room, “I’M GOING TO BE SICK!”
Lucius raised a gloved hand to his handsome face and rubbed his bright, blue eyes as he listened to Draco gag while he sprinted down the hallway towards the lavatory.
The papers had reported Narcissa had been seen in the arms of an unarmed man months ago, why shouldn’t Lucius have the same right to find companionship?
As Lucius looked at his new lover’s tie, he dared to berate himself silently for his carelessness.
If he had just been a bit less hasty packing up from his late……meeting……then he could have at least told his son the news at a more appropriate time.
