Chapter Text

It was midafternoon in New York, slightly warm and crisp in the end of summer and things were more or less.

" Look Jessie, my father isn't available right now, ok! Whatever it is you want to deal with him you can deal directly with- Well Jessie, I am the senior executive so until my father returns, If you want to deal with us, you'll have to deal through me !"

Dana slammed the phone down on the desk, in her fancy well lit office on her family's estate. Of all the midlife crisis her father could've gone through, of everything he could've done, collecting vintage cars, fancy art work, even hiring whores...But no, he just had to make her life harder and had to make it all about travelling the world and leaving no notice or answering his phone.

"Fuck!" Dana whispered to herself, since she had been the acting CEO of their family's web company for a few years now, ever since she graduated, but with her father's absence and the fact she didn't have his mandatory seat on the board, her job had been made a thousand times harder.

She got up, rubbing the bridge of her nose and pouring herself a whisky, her hair slipping out from a messy bun as she leaned on the cabinet, she pulled out her phone again and tried calling her father again and it still went to voicemail.

"Dad, call me. I need to talk to you. It's important."

She practically huffed out her sentence before throwing her phone on the desk. She left the office and was greeted by what seemed to be the main street of a war zone, between gunshots and grenades, she walked past the living room and sure enough there was her younger brother Alex, playing with his video games.

"Put that fucking volume down!"

She yelled as she passed by, but Alex merely ignored her.

Dana went into her suite, kicked off her shoes, and played some Lou Reed while taking off the rest of her clothes, making her way to the bathroom, turning the water on hot and strong. After about an hour and a half, wasting her time contemplating on how the hell she would close the deal with Jessie Wilkerson with her father's absence, she finally dressed while thinking about how the closing would surely make him proud of her and perhaps make him reconsider his decision of holding on to his board seat.

Dana walked into the main living room where Alex and her younger sister Carrie were already eating their dinner, both on their phones on opposite sides of the shiny and oversized dinner table.

'Get me a drink." She asked the maid as the woman placed her meal in front of her. Alex and Carrie shared a laugh, not taking their eyes of their phones.

"Someone's starting early..." Carrie muttered behind her phone, which, Dana merely chose to ignore. She had enough problems as it was, without having to deal with those 2 dipshits. In fact, she was even a little thankful for them, because between Carrie and her failing artsy career and Alex's zero interest in anything other than drugs and video games, it wasn't easy being the most qualified Montague to inherit the keys to the kingdom and Dana wanted it more than else. The last thing she needed was competition.

Dana drove into the streets making her way back home to Manhattan, she had an apartment on the upper east side for whenever she needed some time away, which she started to need more and more.

She was engaged to Eric Beasley, a simple high school english teacher who was preparing for the upcoming school semester. Some say that they are an unexpected match. She says that he's enough for her.

"Hey..." Dana said, answering Eric from her car, she had a smile on her face, like her fiancee could read her mind sometimes.

" Missed you today, were you busy?"

"Yeah...shitty fucking day at the office. Are you home?"

"Ill be there in ten. Just finishing up a meeting with the principal."

"Be at my place then, I'm making my way there." She said, with her trademark authoritarian tone Eric had to struggle to say to himself was a nice trait.

" All right, I'll meet you there."

"Bye." Dana said dryly before hanging up. Sure her day would remain shitty, but hey seeing Eric and spending time with him especially before the deal didn't seem so bad.

Dana was the first one to arrive at the apartment, she put on some music and poured herself a drink, sitting on the fancy couch, she heard as the door opened and quickly turned her attention to it.

Eric walked in with a smile on his face, he dropped his bag and keys on the table and walked over to Dana, sitting next to her on the couch, nesting himself on the girl's neck and stealing a sip of her drink.

"Miss me?" He asked between kisses and touches.

"Missing doesn't even begin to cut it." Dana pulled him closer, slightly pulling his shirt and biting his neck.

"Work that bad?" Eric asked, recognizing her behavior. "Yeah,...I...I don't really want to talk-, fuck, I don't even want to think about it."

" Well I think I can take care of you for a little bit." Eric said, kissing her and getting up, taking off his shirt, doing the same to Dana but leaving her bra on, going around the couch and massaging her shoulders.

"You're tense."

"You always say that."

"Well, you're always tense."

Dana rolled her eyes, annoyed, not really minding if Eric could see it or not. "Well, how about you do something about that?"

He seemed to have taken the hint, moving back in front of Dana, he motioned for her to get up, and proceeded to pull down her jeans. She kicked off her pants and sat down again, opening her legs to allow Eric some easy access.

Eric launched forward, licking Dana's center and flicking her clit with his tongue, it was his turn to be annoyed when he heard Dana had turned the TV on. He didn't really say anything, truth was he was a little stressed himself, not that Dana would care, the last thing he wanted right now was a fight.

As Dana watched the TV, she would occasionally grab and move Eric's head, and it took her at least 10 minutes to finish in her fiancee's mouth. Eric sat back on the floor, staring at Dana who had the biggest most satisfied grin on her face.

"Care to go the the bedroom? Maybe return the favor?" Eric asked hopefully, still sitting on the floor in front of her. Dana liked the view, of him below her, sitting at her feet. She eyed him for awhile, before standing up and motioning with her finger for Eric to follow, and he obliged.

Dana made her way back the morning after, before Eric woke up. She wanted to be at the office early yet realized she had to get some things from the estate. So she made her way home quickly to get things ready for a meeting.

Dana noticed a random car parked in the driveway of their estate while she parked but didn't really think too much of it and trekked her way inside. To her surprise she saw her Father, Carrie, Alex, and a woman she's never met.

"Dad?"

"Hey Dana, there you are."

He greeted and hugged her as if nothing was wrong, as if she hadn't been trying to contact him every day for the past 2 months with no reply.

"And you're just in time for the big news! Everyone..." He said, always having to create suspense. He pulled the woman closer to him, with his arm around her. "This is Lorelai Montague. My new wife."

The face of the 3 Montague children were all the same, a mix of disbelief and shock, but Dana by far had taken it the worst.

"You got married?! You disappear for almost 3 months and come back with a wife?!" Dana yelled at him. "How could you do something like this?!"

"Calm down will ya! It's my life Dana, okay? It's my life and you do not get to act like you have a say in it at all. But guess what, Lorelai is my new wife, and she's gonna be living here with us, whether you like it or not. I expect you all to be on your best behavior and yall better treat her with kindness." Rob said, eyeing all his kids.

The front door was opened and all of them turned their eyes to the commotion. There stood a a petite teenaged girl, with light brown hair and colored eyes, wearing a cardigan and a simple frilly skirt.

"Oh, and this is Lorelai's daughter, Emma, and guess what?! She's also going to be living with us, and you're all going to be nice to her as well ok?! " He looked at them while he placed his hand on the girl's shoulders.

"Now, Carrie and Alex, you'll be giving Lorelai and Emma a house tour, and you Dana are coming with me to explain why you haven't closed the deal with Jessie yet. C'mon."

He started making his way to his office and Dana followed.

"I-..I just wanted to say it's been a pleasure meeting you all, and uhm, thank you for having me and my daughter in your house. " Lorelai said shyly, Carrie was the first to break the ice.

With the shock now behind her she moved closer to the woman and offered her a hug. " Welcome Lorelai, now why don't I show you around the house and my brother here can show Emma around as well."

"Yeah Emma, I can show you our pool." Alex said, leading the girl outside.

" I cannot believe you did this, I cannot believe you were expecting to come here, drop this bomb on all of us, and expect for everything to be okay?!" Dana yelled at him.

"Look, Dana, everything's gonna be okay. Nothing's changed. Look, you're going to get to know Lorelai and you'll see that she's the sweetest most caring woman ever and you'll also get to know Emma, who's as smart as a fox!"

Dana continued shaking her head. "You know what? I get it. You had a mid-life crisis and went out looking for someone and ended up fucking some suburban euro trash. But to put a ring on it!? What were you thinking?"

"Listen to me Dana, Lorelai is my wife, you don't have to like it or her, but insult her again, and we're going to have a problem." He said, furrowing his brows.

"Now. Let's get back to business. How come I leave the deal with Wilkerson almost done and the first thing I realize when I came back is how close you are to colossally screwing it up. Get me up to speed with everything and I'll make him sign today. Leaving you in charge was obviously a mistake."

Dana clenched her fists; she looked down the window, happened to see the pool and Alex walking with the little brat, showing her around, around THEIR house.

She sighed and turned back to her father, handing him the folder with everything about the Wilkerson deal.

"All right, it turns out you weren't doing such a shit job." He sighs. "Let's go close this deal today. We'll leave to work after lunch." He paced the files down and got up. " Look, I didn't mean what I said earlier, about not leaving the company to you. It's not like I have any other choice anyway. But, you've got to learn how to deal with assholes like Wilkerson better, don't just push them around, not until you have the upper hand at least."

He made his way to the door and opened it. "That's my advice for the day?"

"Yeah, just fight all your natural instincts and you'll be fine. Remember, we both know it's hard for you to get along with assholes because you, are an asshole, just like them." Rob got out the room and made his way downstairs where he saw Carrie and Lorelai chatting. He smiled and walked towards them. "How are you two doing?"

They both smiled. "Carrie was just saying we should have a party this Saturday to celebrate." Rob nodded. "That's a great idea. Why don't you guys set everything up? Dana and I will have to go to the office after lunch."
