This is the podfic of the utterly sublime; show me (how to love you)

The client hadn’t really requested anything at all; their emails had been almost overly polite, if not jarringly formal, and had selected only the most vanilla options on the questionnaire she provided. Certainly a far cry from the standard practices of her usual clientele, but this one had paid upfront and picked this expensive hotel, and Mira’s fees are dear enough on their own that she had been coloured intrigued.

Mira takes a left down the hallway after leaving the elevator and finds herself at the door to the room. She doesn’t steel herself—doesn’t need to. She can handle anything. Has handled most things. Mira swipes the keycard and lets herself in.

The person sitting on the bed is probably the last thing she expects.

In which Mira is a professional, Rumi is socially inept, and Zoey is also there. Let's hope nobody catches feelings.

Chapter 1: firsts

This is my first ever podfic!

 

My fiancée and I have been enjoying reading fanfiction aloud for some time now.

We started initially reading my own fics as part of my editing process and as a way to help me improve my dialogue. We found we enjoyed it so much we started reading our favourite fanfics together and I also privately recorded some solo podfics for a close friend of ours...and then we started reading show me (how to love you) by the very talented (and lovely) honestground. We fell in love with their writing and decided to take the leap and ask permission to do a proper podfic.

Please bear this in mind when you listen: we have NEVER done this before and I am learning how to edit audio as we go.

 

I would like to thank honest for giving us permission to bring their beautiful words to life and also to Nurse for letting us use their absoloutely stunning work as the cover art.

An extra special thanks goes to my wonderful fiancée Liz for putting up with my nonsense on a day to day basis and for her absolutely fantastic voicework (without which you would be having to put up with a British Mira, Rumi and Zoey).
