Chapter Text

Herman woke early in the morning. As he always did when he had a shift at SDN. Being SDN’s newest hero-in-training was exciting, he was happy to be apart of his team, even if they all made fun of him.

He zips up his wetsuit, putting his goggles on to rest on his head above his eyebrows. He says quiet goodbyes to his grandma, and all their cats before going to work.

Going through the day, his tasks weren’t easy. It felt like Robert was sending him on difficult missions to test him. Herman wanted to prove his worth to Robert, and to the others, but today he was falling just short of where he needed to be.

“It’s fine. You’ll do better next time, right, Waterboy?” Robert said over the comms with a sigh.

“Y-yes! I— The— Yeah… I.. I’ll try.” Herman said with a little less enthusiasm than usual. He tried to keep an optimistic view of things, but he wasn’t proud of how he was performing. He wasn’t proud that he was disappointing Robert of all people. His dispatcher, his friend, the man he looked up to. More importantly, the man he had *romantic feelings* for.

After another failed mission, Herman went on a short break. He sat in the SDN breakroom, head down on his crossed arms. He didn’t even hear footsteps or the door open. He only sat up after he heard the chair across from his screech against the floor. Robert had come in.

“Hey, Herm. You seem off today. What’s wrong?” He asked. He had a serious look on his face, a concerned look.

“It’s.. It’s nothing. I’m— Didn’t sleep good— well..” Herman replied. A lie. Robert saw through it.

“Right,” Robert gave a knowing stare, “You can talk to me, you know? I’m here to help you.”

Waterboy sighed, tucking a loose, wet strand of hair behind his ear. “I just.. Felt.. Felt like I was disappointing you. Everybody. I’m not used to diff— hard missions.”

Robert’s expression softened. They were getting somewhere.

“I know, bud. But, I’m not disappointed. You did better than any newbie would. Sure, there’s expectations, but you exceeded them. I’m proud of you, Herm.” Robert said with a smile, and a pat to Waterboy’s arm. He got up and left the breakroom after.

Waterboy sat there, flustered and with a pink flush to his face. That little pep talk definitely helped his mood.

After the long day, ending off with a few successful missions, Herman returns home. His grandma and all the cats have already hit the hay for the night, and so will he.

He strips himself of his suit and changes into swim trunks and a wifebeater for pajamas. He climbs into his waterproofed bed, curling up to his body pillow. And if it had a Mecha Man fan art cover? That was nobody’s business but his own.

Herman scrolls through his phone, which is in a little waterproof cover, just seeing what’s going on in the worldwide web. He comes across a few Mecha Man video and picture reposts. Just shots of Mecha Man in action, at press conferences, or photoshoots. His heartbeat picks up a bit. He feels weird knowing that he is his boss now, that he knows who he really is, but it doesn’t deter him from scrolling for more.

He eventually comes across fan art, some cool and normal, but also some that is not safe for work. He falls down a rabbit hole of it. Drawings of what people think Mecha Man looks like, all inaccurate, but all of him completely naked in different positions and different ways.

Herman feels his cock twitch to life in his trunks, guilt settling in his gut, but he kind of likes the feeling. He finds one he really likes, Mecha Man with the mask on, and ambiguous hands unzipping his suit and on his exposed, absurdly thick dick.

One of Herman’s hands finds its way under the waistband of his swim trunks. He strokes himself slowly, imagining all the things he’d do if he was in that situation with Robert. He can hear Robert’s voice in his mind telling him what a good job he’s doing, that he’s such a good boy, and all the noises he’d make.

It doesn’t take long for Herman to finish, cum trickling over his knuckles and some onto the body pillow beside him. With a grimace, he wipes it off. Unfortunately, his phone slips out of his hand. He hears a *ding*, meaning he sent something to someone. He panics in the post-nut clarity.

He struggles for his phone, trying to grab it in his wet palms. Once he has it, he checks what it sent. His phone had sent a link to the fan art to Robert’s number. Herman almost shrieks. He tries to delete it, but alas his messages don’t allow for that. He sees the *Read* stamp under the message. He quickly types.

—Robert!!! I didn’t mean to send that to you!!
—I don’t know what that is. My phone slipped out of my hand. I was scrolling on some app, did not open that!!!

Robert’s typing icon comes up not long after.

—Haha. It’s okay. But I’m not buying that. Really? I thought Visi was bad with ‘accidentally’ sending me porn. Did she tell you to do this?
-Pls tell me if she did, I’ll give her a piece of my mind.

Herman almost chuckles, but then not a second longer because he just sent his boss porn of himself and nothing is funny right now.

-No!!! I don’t talk to her a lot anyway. But please ignore this and pretend this didn’t happen. Sorry for bothering you. Goodnight.

Herman shuts his phone off, screwing his eyes shut, and pinching the bridge of his nose. He wallows in regret and shame, until his phone starts ringing.

He sees Robert’s contact on the screen, so he hesitantly answers.

“H-Hello? R-Robert? Boss— Sir?” He speaks with a squeaky voice.

“Hey, kid. Wanna explain that text any further?” Robert chuckles. His voice is low, and smooth. Herman almost cums a second time just from that.

“N-No.. I- I mean yes! It— Accident! I.. Sir, I was- definitely, t-totally not looking at that!” Herman’s panicked voice comes out higher than he wanted.

Robert chuckles again. “Right. Sure. Come on, Hermy. Why look at that when you could have the real deal?”

Herman blanks for a second, or two, or three. “Are- You’re j-joking? This.. You’re making fun of me, too, aren’t you?” He sounds a bit upset now.

“No, Herm. I’m serious. How about we talk tomorrow. If you’re up for it, come back to my apartment with me. I’ll show you the real deal.”

Herman thinks about it for a second. Talking this out would probably be best. Things might turn out in his favor.

“O-okay. Sure..”
