Oh and don’t let anyone know where your going, especially the teachers…
Anyways hope to see you soon bye!”
Well that was just the best thing to read on the first day of your senior year…
I take off my headphones pausing my Hamilton and look at the poster better. “Arts club huh, never thought I would join one.” Maybe I should I mean it’s not like I have anything better to do, plus my dad would be happy that I’m actually trying to do something with my life for once.
The bell rings signaling it’s time for the first class of the day. I sigh heavily “Damnit now I actually have to find my way around this big ass building” I look at my schedule, “AP social science… really I in-rolled into AP classes..?” How do I not remember I in-rolled into collage level classes? Well all I did over the summer was listen to music, slack off at my shitty retail job, and rot in my bed memories become a blur at some point of time. I grab the poster stuffing it into my bag before trying to find my class.
I run a hand through my thick brown hair sighing deeply “Where is this goddamn class, like seriously why is this school so big?!” Before I can run another lap around the school a hand touches my shoulder causing me to jump. “What the fuck who’s there?!” I turn around to see a shorter girl with platinum blonde pigtails and light pink highlights, her eyes are big and black staring into my soul like I’m some kind of new creature. Her ears are pierced with dangly pink stars that match her pink bunny hoodie and white skirt and leg warmers, though the black boots throw the whole pink and white look off. “You look lost, need some help stranger?” Her voice is soft and innocent but with an almost dark evil edge to it. “Uh.. sure thanks.” She smiles and takes my schedule. “Oh AP social science, fancy you must be smart huh new girl?” My face flushes slightly, I’m not used to compliments. “Oh-uh I guess my dad wanted me to try this year.. and uh social science always interested me but there was only AP classes with it..” She takes my wrist her fingers small and cold, grip firm, skin smooth and soft. “Well your in luck I’m a freshman so it’s free block right now.” I smile a bit “Oh thanks uh.. what’s your name…?” She giggles a little, it sounds more mischievous then friendly though “Lacy, Lacy Rosewood. I’m in ballet in that arts club poster you were looking at.” I glance at my book bag “Oh yeah that thing.. I’m Everly Hayes by the way, I was interested in joining I never really do clubs.” She smiles gripping my wrist a bit tighter as we walk up the stairs “Well what would you join for? What’s your passion?” I stutter a bit “Passion.. uh I never really thought of that, I mean I don’t do much with my life.” We stop in front of a door she leans closer her shorter frame only reaching my shoulder and whispers “Well I’ll see you later Everly Hayes, and think about your passion maybe you’ll find it in time. Though be sure not to be consumed by it when you do find it.” She lets go of my wrist and steps back giving a small innocent “Bye bye” before turning away and heading back down the stairs.
I stand there face flushed and confusion filling my mind. What the fuck did she mean by “find it in time” and “don’t let it consume you”?! Well that’s my first lesson of 12th grade, don’t trust random blondes who talk like psychotic patients. I sigh and walk into the classroom, it’s dark only a pink light in the corner and the partly open windows letting light in, the desks are separated with cushioned seats, at the back is a cozy area with bean bags and blankets, the teachers desk is in the left corner in the front of the room. She spots me and speaks up “New student? I’ll let it off this time but please try to get here in time tomorrow.” I just nod and sit at the only empty seat at the back of the class.
A few minutes into class I feel something at my leg, omg a bug!? Oh- no… just a foot? I look over and see a guy with shoulder length black hair in a half up style a sharp jawline with a mole under his right eye, his eyes are dark brown in the light they shine almost a honey gold color. His clothes are like out of a dark vampire movie, brown plaid trousers with a gold belt, a black long sleeved shirt and a long dark brown trench coat. Yeah is this guy some type of detective who failed six grades? I look at him shoving his foot off of my leg “What? I’m trying to pay attention.” My voice comes out more aggressive then necessary, he looks over a small smile in his face but it’s still warm and welcoming “Class is almost over, you came very late.” I scoff “And?” He laughs a bit “Your just a ray of sunshine. Ok but for real you’re new so I wanted to meet you. I’m Ezrah Ellis, the student council president.” Oh of course Mr. Vampire detective hot perfect smart guy is also the student council president, great just great. “Cool.. I guess” He grins “Well your in a good mood huh?” I roll my eyes as the bell rings already collecting my stuff “Yes actually for your information I’m the kindest person you’ll ever meet.” He gathers his stuff smiling to himself “Well it was nice seeing you around new girl, oh and Everly we all hope to see you later” he walks out the door leaving me standing frozen. What the actual fuck, how did Mr. Creepy Victorian era vampire detective shiny hair know my name?! Well that’s another lesson learnt, never listen to creepy to perfect looking vampire guys. They’ll probably know your name.. for some reason? The bell rings again signaling lunch, I sigh and grab my bag heading downstairs to attempt to find the cafeteria.
