Work Text:

The whole village was quiet, the screams that were ringing throughout having vanished completely.

You had no idea what just happened.

Before the screams started, you had been petting the village cat. Everyone hated the cat because of its aggressiveness towards every villager. Except for you, that is. You and the cat had that in common.

The village hated you.

You had been born blind. Not visually impaired. Completely blind. Any sort of bodily dysfunction had been seen as a curse. A sin. It‘s not like you wanted to be blind. This was your mother‘s punishment for not waiting until marriage. A whore‘s child.

Your parents tried their best to raise you, but an illness killed them when you were still a young girl. The house, which used to be filled full of company and love, had now been empty, vacant. This was your fault, you kept on telling yourself that.

If only you‘d never been born.

There were very few people who truly treated you nicely. The baker, who had been your father‘s friend. The seamstress who had been your mother‘s close friend and the doctor who had tried his best to save you. And the neighbourhood cat. The rest treated you like garbage.

You had to rely on yourself from a young age on. You grew independent, relying on your other senses to help you get through life. You didn’t need help from others, why would they help you anyway?

As a teenager, you entirely stopped interacting with most villagers, except for the ones you respected. Talking to others only meant hurt. Insults. Hate. You didn’t want to experience that daily, if you had to be honest with yourself.

You could hear the whispers, the obvious humiliating comments they would throw at you. You didn’t listen to them. Why would you? Because you were blind? Because you were a bastard child? At the end of the day, you didn’t let them win.

They would get their karma.

Which brought you to that fateful day. While you were stroking the feline‘s fur, you suddenly heard screams. Usually, the tiny kids would be the ones screaming and having their fun. Those were their usual screams.

These screams were different. Dreadful. Scary. Terrified.

What was going on?

You slowly stood up, taking the road back to where your home was. This road was practically engrained in your memory. Each and every turn, each and every obstacle, you knew by heart.

The screams slowly got louder and louder. You were concerned, very much so. Were there any people around that you could ask?

Slight winds flew past you, the people of the village running past you as you tried to get to your home. You pushed through the people, the fear slowly rising through your body.

A sudden push made you fall to the ground, hard. You hit your head on the ground, the pain shooting through your body. Something was flowing down your face, probably the crimson liquid that flowed through your body.

The villagers couldn’t care less. They just pushed through, some even trampling on you. The pain just got worse, the bones in your body feeling like they snapped like a saltine cracker.

You screamed and wailed at the pain, but in the end, you were just confused. What was going on? Why were people running away like this? What did they just witness?

Soon, after the screams dimmed down, the town was silent. You cried silently, a few whines leaving your lips. You were in severe pain and it just didn’t fade.

The silence was interrupted by footsteps. Slow. Steady. You listened to the source, trying to see if you could make out any words. Sound has always been your friend, your sharpest sense.

“Uraume, make sure everyone is dead.”

You heard that loud and clear. A deep voice, one that could make people tremble just by a mere word. That heartbeat of yours probably was as fast as it ever could have been.

Slowly, making sure you made no noise, you crawled away from the source of the noise. Whoever this was, you were in deep danger. The footsteps did sound farther and farther away the more you crawled, which was a good sign.

You were doing well until your hand landed on a glass shard. It practically pierced through your skin, which made you let out a loud scream. Immediately, your other hand shot to your mouth, trying to silence your noise. Tears ran down your cheeks, the ache making you feel dizzy.

The footsteps grew closer and in that moment, you felt your heart drop. You were going to die. You were going to be killed.

“Lord Sukuna.”

The lighter voice called out for the other. From what you could tell, they were most definitely standing in front of you. You were caught. Dead. Like the lamb to the slaughter.

“Hm? And you are?”

The deeper voice from before approached, joining the other person. There you were, alive, an offering to whoever these people were.

You cried, wailing. It was more because of the pain, really, but the fear was another factor as well. It felt like every part of your body got trampled on and stabbed.

“I asked you a question.”

Immediately, you stopped. You couldn’t see the man, nor the person next to him. You didn’t want to lie, you were always taught to say the truth.

“Y/n.”

The reply to his question was barely audible, the sobbing not making for a nice listening experience. For the first time in your life, you‘d have wished that you could see.

“You‘re blind.”

That was a statement. How did this stranger know about your condition? It wasn’t that obvious, was it?

“What?”

“You‘re not looking at me while I‘m talking to you.”

Quickly, you moved your head around, trying to figure out where the two could possibly be standing. Before you could identify, a hand reached out for your face. This was probably the man. His grip was strong, like it could snap metal in half. He could probably crush your skull in mere seconds. His sharp nails dug into your jaw, making for another painful experience.

“Uraume.”

“Yes, my lord?”

“Take her.”

Your face was dropped in an instant, making you let out a cry. This was it, you would be met with your demise. Was this for the better? Maybe your cursed life could finally be ended.

Before you could say anything else, you were knocked out. Unconscious. Maybe this was how quickly people died, just like back at the village. There was nothing but emptiness for what felt like decades.

What you didn’t expect, however, was to wake up. You were lying down on a tatami mat, your body covered in fabric that was way too expensive for you to even name. It smelled like incense, the authentic kind. When your hands moved down your body, you could feel that your body had been covered in bandages. You reached out to where you‘d hit yourself on the head, and even there, it was completely patched up.

“You‘re awake.”

Your head moved to where the voice came from. The same light voice from before. Once again, you‘d wished that you would be able to see.

“Where am I?”

For some reason, the pain had subsided. You only felt tiny aches from time to time, but nothing compared to what you felt before.

“Lord Sukuna‘s temple.”

What? What did she mean by “Lord”? She had never heard of that name before. There were only the current emperors of Japan, and none of those held the name Sukuna.

“He spared you from mortality. He doesn’t do that normally. You‘re currently in the infirmary. Your injuries should fade completely in the next few days, so rest up. I‘m Uraume, and I‘m assigned by Sukuna to look after you.”

This person was polite, surprisingly so. You had no idea why you got spared or why the Lord had been so lenient. One thing, however, is that you were immensely thankful.

“How long have I been here for?”

You hoped that you were looking at Uraume, since you didn’t want to feel like you were disrespecting them. People never really talked to you, so you were naturally very awkward. They never showed you kindness either, so you didn’t really know how to behave.

“Two days. Your body was very weak and you suffered from severe blood loss.”

That made you pause a bit. Two days?! Did it take so long to heal you up? Whatever the situation was, you still had no idea why you were spared. Judging from what Uraume said before, they probably didn’t know either.

“Lord Sukuna wants you to be a concubine of his. Once you’ve rested, I will aid you through the process. You will meet the other concubines and be there for Lord Sukuna whenever he sees fit.”

A concubine… From what you‘ve heard, being a concubine wasn’t a nice thing. People usually assumed that it was a nice rank for a woman, but from all the tiny whispers in town, it’s just a way for men in power to get good offspring.

“Have you ever heard of the King of Curses, Lady Y/n?”

Now that rang a bell. The King of Curses, the one who was amongst the strongest jujutsu sorcerers in the history currently. He was feared among the entirety of Japan for his murderous sprees. Your tiny village had been his next destination. Now it all made sense.

“I have, yes.”

Uraume let out a hum, taking your answer in. So you knew about jujutsu sorcery. Interesting.

“Lord Sukuna is the King of Curses. He goes by Ryomen Sukuna but you must always call him Lord Sukuna. He cares a lot about titles. You mustn’t disobey him ever.”

You nodded, hanging onto every word that Uraume told you. What else were you supposed to do? This was your life now, whether you liked it or not. The silence of the infirmary felt oddly comforting.

“What do I wear?”

From what you were taught, concubines wore Junihitoes. In your village, you usually just wore your usual kimono. This environment was different, however, but you needed to prepare for everything in advance.

“Lord Sukuna has ordered for you to be in a Kimono for the time being. The other concubines are in Junihitoes but since you are a new concubine, you will be wearing simpler clothes. If it makes you feel any better, I am wearing a kimono as well. Monk clothes, mostly.”

So Uraume is a monk? That clears the question of his gender. Another question arose, but you didn’t really want to ask it. But what if it was important?

“Uraume… What am I going to do then? I’m blind, I can’t do the usual things that a concubine does.”

You felt insecure, not equal to the others. Why would the King of Curses save you when you could practically bring him nothing to the table? Even pleasure was out of the question. No one engages with a bastard child.

“I am trying to figure that out, as well. I hope you don’t mind my words, but your blindness will be a huge disadvantage. Calligraphy won’t work. Dancing might be dangerous. Sewing will be difficult as well… The only options I can give you, Lady Y/n, is singing and seduction.”

The monk felt bad for her. The other concubines had huge advantages compared to you. Your beauty was average compared to the other consorts, so why did Sukuna pick you? He still couldn’t figure out the Lord’s decisionmaking.

“Then I will do that.”

While you slept through the night, the fusuma slided open. Everyone was asleep in the temple, Sukuna made sure of that. Uraume had reported to him that you had awoken in the middle of the day, which put him somewhat at ease.

The village had been a spontaneous massacre. He had hit it big at a city recently and on the way back, he and Uraume had stumbled across the village. It all happened because he felt cocky that day. He wanted to leave no survivors, to just move on and get back to his den. When he saw you, it all went out the window.

A blind girl. Completely hurt, but still alive. Practically a free kill.

He hesitated, for some reason. He didn’t know himself why he decided to take you into his empire, but he did.

There you lay, slumber having overtaken your senses. The other concubines had been informed of a new addition. They didn’t look all too pleased but if he caught wind of any disrespect towards you, they’d meet his wrath.

Sukuna valued respect. The only other person who had somewhat of an authority was Uraume. The rest? They are told to follow his orders. If he heard anyone disobeying his rules? They would be discarded. Killed with his bare hands.

His one set of hands set down the kimono that he had handpicked for you, while the other two hands trailed your skin. One carefully felt the softness of your cheek, and the other got a good look at the injuries. It felt odd. Why was he treating you like you would snap in half if he gripped you too hard?

He pulled away pretty quickly. You were just another concubine. Another person added to his roster. No one special.

Healing completely felt wonderful.

You could finally get up and walk. Well, sort of. You bumped into a few walls since you didn’t really know the layout of the temple. Uraume tried to lend a hand, but you always refused. You were used to doing things on your own.

“I don’t need help.”

That’s what you would always tell everyone. They all pitied you. Even the concubines did. You had met them a few hours before. Four of them, five if you were included. They were all, from what you were told, immense beauties. You didn’t know what was beautiful and what wasn’t. The only thing you saw was the void that had been stripping you from seeing the world.

Four concubines.

Saeko, the eldest. She was favored the most by the King of Curses, mainly because she listened and never defied the Lord. Chiyo, the dancer. She was a Shirabyoshi dancer that somehow managed to get Sukuna‘s attention. He bought her and she became a concubine. Iori and Aoi were the crafty ones. They loved to sew. When you got introduced to them, you were polite.

“I‘m Y/n L/n, a new concubine. I hope we get along.”

The four women knew that you were blind. You could practically feel their pity, their looks. You could predict that you would immediately become the gossip of their little group, but you were used to that.

“The four of you. Lord Sukuna wants you to take care of her, just like you do with one another. I‘m not the one who can teach her the knowledge of a concubine. Any sort of disrespect and I will report it to the Lord. Understood?”

The women obey in unison. Uraume soon left, leaving you alone with the four. In truth, you were horrified. You were still getting used to socializing and this was not a good start.

“How many fingers am I holding up?”

“Aoi!”

The woman slapped the other, probably on the arm or another body part. It sounded too faint for it to have been directly on the skin.

“Ow!”

You giggled lightly. It didn’t seem like an insult to you, maybe she just wasn’t used to someone being visually disabled.

“What are you going to specialize in, Y/n? It must be hard with the blindness, right?”

That must be Saeko. She sounded polite, wise. Sweet. You weren’t used to such kindness. These past few days have been a complete change in lifestyle for you.

“Uraume said that singing and seduction should suffice…”

You sounded unsure, nervous. This was all completely new to you, so your emotions were valid. The four hum in unison, trying to think about the situation.

“Chiyo is good at seduction. I can help with singing. We will help you in the best way that we can.”

Saeko replied once again, giving you the plan of what life would be like for you now. They seemed sweet, for now. You would still keep your guard up, though.

“Thank you.”

The past few weeks after that had been spent with lessons of seduction and singing. Singing was easy, since it had been something that you’d always loved. The seduction… that was difficult.

You were currently being taught how to talk to Sukuna.

“He‘s not that complicated, Y/n! He’s very direct, it’s just a few touches. He immediately gives in afterwards.”

Chiyo had tried to explain the methods, but with no sight and practically no experience, it was like explaining complex problems to a toddler.

“But-”

“C‘mon! Shouldn’t you know this?”

Her words were immediately met with regret. What did she mean by that comment? How were you supposed to know seduction?

“What do you mean by that, Chiyo?”

Your voice quickly dropped, signaling that you wanted an answer from her. A proper one. One thing you learned is to never let others trample over you.

“Nothing… I just… Since you‘re.. you know…”

She was stuttering. She knew. They all knew. They were no different.

“What? That I‘m a bastard child? I‘m supposed to know about seduction because my parents didn’t wait for marriage?”

The room fell quiet. That’s how they saw you. Just like the villagers. They weren’t any different. All the same. Instead of saying anything else, you slowly got up and walked away. Your hands immediately held onto the walls, feeling around to make sure you wouldn’t bump into anything.

“Y/n-”

“I‘ve heard plenty.”

You slid open the fusuma and immediately slid it back so the room was closed. Slowly, you walked away along the hall. You wanted to explore the garden, a place you had grown a liking to.

It all was fine until you bumped into something. You had no idea what it was but it was a hard surface. Your hands moved around, trying to feel what it was.

“You‘re bold.”

Your eyes widened at the voice before stepping away. You hadn’t heard about the King of Curses since you‘d been taken in here. He never shows himself, or rather, to you.

“I apologize, Lord Sukuna! I didn’t know it was you!”

Multiple bows followed, hoping that he wasn’t going to snap your neck in a few seconds.

“I know… Aren’t you supposed to be with them?”

Them being the concubines. The schedule said that you should be with them, but right now, you need a break from that environment.

“I should.”

He hummed, one of his hands moving to your arm. You didn’t falter, nor did you flinch. It was a pretty soft touch for someone of his title.

“Why aren’t you with them?”

That question demanded an answer. You didn’t want to snitch, even if her words did hurt you a bit. You decided to avoid answering.

“I needed some fresh air-”

Don’t lie to me.”

You froze. His voice was threatening, deeper than it was before. He wanted the truth, and the truth only. He demanded it.

“They know that I was born out of wedlock.”

The only ones who knew were Uraume and him. He didn’t tell anyone and Uraume doesn’t spread any words either. He was a loyal servant to Sukuna, what would he gain out of that? Maybe one of the concubines eavesdropped.

“Who told you?”

The way he spoke made you shiver. It was like pure venom, one wrong answer and you‘d be suffering because of the poison.

“They didn’t directly-”

Who?

You gulped, the hair on your body immediately standing up. He was horrifying. And you were supposed to please him? What if you got killed because you didn’t properly please him?

“Chiyo.”

If you would have been able to see, he probably would have the scariest glare ever. The thought made you already anxious.

“Walk with me. You‘re nowhere near the garden.”

Before you could respond, he hooked your arm in his so you were holding onto his upper arm. He led you through the halls, something you weren’t used to. You wanted to pull away. You weren’t helpless, you could walk on your own.

“I can walk on my own.”

The man let out a chuckle, which you didn’t understand. Was this funny to him?

“Uraume was right. You’re stubborn.”

He didn’t let go of you, not even for a second. If anything, he somehow managed to make you tighten your grip on his upper arm. You couldn’t stay mad long at that comment because pretty much soon after, you were met with the spring breeze. The smell of the sakura was comforting in this environment.

Your mother had always told you how the sakura season was her favorite. The petals that swung around in the air as the wind made them fly all over the place, the pretty pink colors covering the grounds. You’d always wanted to know what they looked like.

These memories made you miss your family more than ever. Your mother, your father, even the neighbourhood cat… If you could see them one more time, you could have died happily in the village.

“You’re crying.”

You turned your head towards his voice, not having been aware of the tears that spilled from your eye sockets. You had no idea what you were looking at. Did he look scary like they always talked about? Or did the words of the concubines ring true about his handsomeness?

“I apologize, Lord Sukuna. I was just thinking about my mother.”

His fingers slowly wiped the tears away. He didn’t understand human beings. They were all too emotional for his liking. He always thought that they were just overexaggerating. Even now, with her crying, he didn’t know how to respond.

“What was she like?”

He continued to walk with you through the garden. The koi pond was reflecting beautifully because of the sunlight. The sakura petals were floating on top of the pond, the pink overwhelming the atmosphere of the garden.

“Kind. So kind. People in town didn’t deserve her kindness. They called her so many names but she remained strong. Didn’t listen to the people. Sharing her love even if people weren’t willing to share with her. She died because of that illness many years ago…. Just like father.”

You continued to talk. He could tell that you looked up to her. Your resolve was impressive and he could only tip his hat to you. That must have been hard.

“Love is the most common curse of all.”

There was silence after that. Even if his words weren’t that comforting, he still listened to you talking about your mother. That was the only thing that mattered.

“I wish that I could’ve seen the sakura with her.”

After your statement, another set of tears fell down your face. This time, however, you couldn’t stop. You really were a curse. Why were you cursed with this blindness? Everything would have been alright if you could at least see.

He stood there, watching you cry into your hands like a tiny kid who just got injured. For some odd reason, he felt a tiny hint of emotion. Being called a curse all your life, seen as something demonic while you’re just living your daily life… It reminded him of himself, in a way. Two of his arms pulled you in, holding you in his embrace. The other two arms ran their fingers through your hair.

This continued on for a while. You crying into his chest while the man just let you. He never let anyone do this. He couldn’t care less if people cried. Why he was doing this, he had no clue. You calmed down, slowly pulling away.

“Thank you, Lord-”

“Ryomen.”

He interrupted before you could fully thank him. What did he mean by that? You knew of his first name, so why would he tell you about it?

“What?”

“I want you to call me Ryomen.”

“He hasn’t called you over yet?”

Iori asked, looking puzzled at your answer.

“Is that bad?”

The four of you were currently talking while sipping on tea. A few days ago, Chiyo passed away due to a very weird illness. Uraume had told you that a parasite had gotten into her food. You thought it was weird since you all had gotten the same food, but only she was affected. But you didn’t really think much of it.

“No, it’s just… he all called us over during the first week. You’ve been here for longer than that.”

Saeko intervened, the eldest sharing her experiences. She knew best, so obviously you believed her each and every word.

“What’s he like?”

The question slipped off of your lips, not really giving it too much thought. They had never really told you what he was like when it came to the sexual part of the concubine occupation. Maybe they were shielding you?

“Rough.”

“Hard.”

“Aggressive.”

You grimaced a bit, those words sounding more concerning if anything. When you were taught about sex, your parents had told you that it was a beautiful thing. A way for humans to bring life.

“He loves Saeko the most!”

Aoi giggled. Saeko clearly was flustered by her comment because she immediately got defensive.

“I’m the eldest! I’m probably the only one who can keep up with how rough he is!”

Maybe she was embarrassed that he preferred her. You had heard that concubines usually hated one another, that they fought for the attention of the emperor a lot. They were so different, kind of like sisters who took care of one another.

“You will get your turn, Y/n. Don’t worry.”

After you all finished your tea, it was time for bed. Everyone had gone to their respective rooms, just like you. You were slowly getting used to the layout of the temple, even remembering some of the paths.

In your room, you walked to where the window was. According to Iori, today was a full moon. They had told you that it was like a beam of sunlight but during the night. It would illuminate the space entirely. It must be pretty.

The silence was met with a tiny meow, which startled you a bit. A cat had crawled onto your windowsill. Your hand felt around the cat, stroking it a bit. Slowly, you carried the cat and put it onto your lap. It reminded you a lot of the neighbourhood cat in your village. Did this cat have its two eyes? You slowly felt around it, but just like the cat in your village, the left eye wasn’t there.

“Miko? Is that you?”

The cat meowed, cuddling up to you. In that moment, you felt immediate happiness. You got up and laughed in happiness, twirling the cat around like it were your baby.

“Miko!”

You hugged the cat, smiling and petting the fur ball. You had her back! You had gotten so worried, wondering if the cat had survived the massacre or not. But here she was! You placed tiny kisses on her face, happy about this reunion.

“Did you miss me? Are you hurt anywhere? You poor thing… I’ll never let you go again. I’m sorry that I left you so suddenly. I love you, Miko.”

A concerned mother, that’s how you sounded like. But that didn’t matter to you, not one bit.

Sukuna could feel your happiness through the window. His window gave him the perfect view of your room. People would call this silly, but in that moment, he could see how you valued the tiny things. It made a smile manifest itself on his face.

“Lord Sukuna, are you listening?”

“Hm?”

Uraume had been in his room, talking about the newest wave of sorcerers that were after him. Clans that he couldn’t care less for.

“Are you looking at Lady Y/n?”

The King of Curses wants to say no, to deny that question and tell him that he should focus on the task at hand. But even he couldn’t properly pay attention, so why lie to his most trusted servant?

“Yes. The cat was the one we saw in the village, no?”

Uraume looked at your window, trying to get a glimpse. And there you were, cuddling a cat and holding it like it was a newborn. Uraume let out a little chuckle before nodding. That was the cat they had spared in the village.

“It is. It probably came to find its owner.”

After that came silence. The both of them looked at you. Uraume looked away afterwards, but Sukuna didn’t. His eyes were glued on you, not even thinking to remove his eyes from the sight. Uraume had never seen the man like this before. He never cared about the concubines, nor did he care about their interests or backstories.

“Why did you kill Lady Chiyo?”

The question snapped Sukuna out of his daze, finally turning his gaze towards the other man. He just shrugged, trying to find the most vague answer he could give him.

“I don’t tolerate disrespect. You know that the best, don’t you, Uraume?”

Uraume just nodded. Chiyo had been called over by Sukuna a few days ago. The concubine had expected the usual night, but that night was different. That night had led to her demise. One tiny comment had led to her death. Ryomen Sukuna doesn’t like humans who think that they are better than the other. Uraume had been called after she was strangled to death by the King of Curses. He didn’t know what the concubine had done, but if the death had been that brutal, then it must have been severe.

“Make sure the cat gets proper food. You’re dismissed, Uraume.”

The servant stood up and left the curse alone for the night. The cat would get the proper treatment, he would make sure of it. Just like always.

Many days had passed.

Surprisingly, Miko had been adapting rather well to her new surroundings. She ate her food and slept for most of the time. When she was awake, she would follow you around. Whenever people tried to pet her, she would hiss at them and even scratch them sometimes. Nothing new for her.

Another singing session had gone successful, so now you were in your bedroom, petting the feline. You didn’t have seduction lessons anymore after Chiyo‘s passing. It’s not like you needed it, anyway. Sukuna still hadn’t called you over yet. It was starting to worry you.

Footsteps echoed through the hall, the heavy kind. You slowly got up, wanting to know who was walking like that. It was just so quiet all of a sudden. Maybe Sukuna was back? Him and Uraume left together today.

You slowly walked to the fusuma and slid it open. Maybe you‘d hear who this person was? No one had ever really walked by in this area with such heavy footsteps. You kept on standing by the fusuma, wondering if you‘d get approached.

Before you could say anything, arms enveloped you. The fusuma slid back to closed, the embrace not getting any less tight. The person smelled like blood, the mix of iron, sweat and soil not going unnoticed.

“Ryomen?”

You had no idea if it was him. The embrace felt familiar, however, so it must be him. You kept on walking backwards until your bottom hit the tatami mat. The man was lying on top of you, not saying a word.

“Is everything okay?”

Your hands didn’t move, not yet. The man seemed out of it. He wasn’t answering you either. Maybe he came here for some relief? Maybe this was finally the time where you can show what you learnt as a new concubine.

“Do you need me to do anything?”

The man didn’t say anything. He just shook his head cuddling up to you even further. You sat up slowly, letting the man rest his head against your thighs. Slowly, your hands ran through his hair. You had no idea if what you were doing was acceptable or not, if he would tear your hands off him.

He didn’t.

He melted into it, kind of like a candle that has been burning for hours on end. The night had been warm tonight, Miko sleeping in her tiny bed that had been arranged for her a few days ago.

“Keep doing that.”

You gave the man a warm smile, continuing your ministrations on his hair. The man‘s head moved upwards, your hand moving from his hair to his cheek. Your thumb moved, rubbing tiny circles on his skin.

“I killed people tonight.”

Your eyebrows furrowed a bit, but what could you do? The man was a breathing curse, this is what he had to do to survive.

“Are you hurt anywhere?”

There was nothing you could really say or do. He just seemed out of it, so maybe he got injured? Or was it just too strenuous for him?

“No. I just have blood everywhere. Practically bathing in it.”

You felt him lean into your palm before dropping his face to your thighs once again. His hand grabbed yours, putting it on his head. A silent plea to make you run your fingers through his hair again.

“Can I help you in any way?”

A genuine question. You wanted to help, even if the situation seemed insanely bizarre. A blind concubine asking the King of Curses if he needs help. It sounds almost comical.

“Can I stay here for the night?”

Ryomen Sukuna never asks. He demands people, he makes the orders. Asking questions was something he doesn’t do. So why was he doing it?

“Of course.”

After that, the man didn’t say anything anymore. His face continued to be buried in your thighs, using them as pillows, if anything. Your fingers run through his locks as if it were second nature, making sure he feels at ease.

You hummed a tune that your mother would sing whenever she wanted you to fall asleep. It was a soft one, the words you had forgotten over time. The memories stayed intact. Maybe it would help him fall asleep, just like it helped you all those years.

Soon after, the man fell asleep in your lap. You could feel your eyes growing heavy, so you slowly slid down and pulled him upwards so his head was on your chest. With that, you finally decided to let sleep overtake you.

The both of you slept peacefully in the warm spring night, the noises of the garden acting as white noise to help deepen the sleep. It was peaceful, so peaceful. Almost a month ago, you were living in a village where people despised you and wanted you dead. Now, you were a consort in a temple for the King of Curses.

You’d won the lottery.

Uraume had been looking for the King of Curses in the meantime, just like the other three concubines. Uraume had noticed his sudden disappearance which scared the monk. When he’d ask the concubines where he was, they didn’t know either. They looked through every corner, except for one room.

Yours.

Carefully, the monk slid the door open. What he’d been met with was shocking.

Ryomen Sukuna, willingly sleeping in a room with him in your arms. Sukuna’s room had all the luxuries, but he willingly chose to stay here. He still had blood all over his skin and clothes, the horrifying curse looking like he’d found peace for the first time in his life.

His embrace was tight, the flex of his muscles clearly indicating that. You were sleeping well, too. Like you two belonged together. It scared Uraume a bit, how quickly Lord Sukuna had fallen for you. The curse could deny it all he wanted, but the evidence right now was clear.

The other concubines peeked into the room, wanting to see why Uraume’s jaw was hanging so low. Saeko, Iori and Aoi could only follow in suit. Lord Sukuna was already rude with them as is, making them leave immediately when he was done with them. Sleeping with him overnight was out of the question. So why was he in your arms, enjoying the sleep that he got? Especially after a mission, a time where he could snap anyone’s neck in a second if they even breathe incorrectly?

“Did they…?”

“No. It doesn’t reek of sex.”

They hadn’t even had intercourse! He just came to her room to get rest? Saeko’s eyebrows furrowed, while the younger twins just giggled. She was supposed to be the favorite, not a blind girl from a village who was born out of wedlock! This couldn’t be happening… Was she losing her position as favorite? Would Sukuna abandon her for you?

“You three. Time to rest. Let’s not disturb them.”

Uraume slid the fusuma to close. He was honestly shocked that Ryomen Sukuna had disappeared to just… sleep in your arms. While the three concubines walked to their rooms, he couldn’t help but suppress a smile.

“He’s demoting you two?!”

Iori and Aoi just shrugged, looking at the blind concubine. Today, the two had been told by Uraume that they wouldn’t be concubines anymore, but seamstresses for the temple. In their eyes, this wasn’t bad at all. They had been seamstresses before they got taken in as concubines. They never really liked concubine life, so they weren’t that bummed out.

“It’s fine, Y/n. We weren’t really the biggest fanatics of the concubine lifestyle. We still get to live in the temple and we get to do the things that we like. I’d say we upgraded, in our personal opinion.”

Saeko was sobbing, clearly not ready to say goodbye to the two women. Sure, they’d live in the same temple, but they couldn’t see one another as often, depending on how the Lord saw fit. Maybe he’d enslave them. Who knew when it came to him, really?

“I’ll come and visit you two as often as I can. You too, Saeko?”

The eldest concubine said nothing, leaving the room. It was quiet for a bit, the three of you in the room. Aoi cleared her throat before saying something.

“Y/n. Be careful when it comes to Saeko, yeah? Lord Sukuna has this preference when it comes to you, for some reason. Saeko always liked being his favorite, so just make sure you don’t make her an enemy.”

Your eyebrows furrowed a bit. Was she jealous of you and Sukuna? But how could that be? Him preferring you? Where did they get that from? She was his favorite, not you.

“Come visit us as often as you can! We’ll make you pretty kimonos!”

The woman seemed happy as they hugged you, which you could only return back. The two sisters seemed like they liked you the most, having told you multiple times that they didn’t care about your past. They liked you, and that’s all that mattered.

When the two women left, you decided to take a walk in the garden. The halls were growing more familiar, just like the path in your village. Every tiny obstacle, you were starting to get used to. When you started to smell the scent of the garden, you calmed down. The sound of nature never failed to feel relaxing. As you continued walking, tiny sobs managed to attract you. Slowly, you walked to the source until you stood in front of it.

“Saeko?”

You reached out a hand before it was slapped away. Immediately, a frown manifests itself onto your face. Was she sad that the two women were demoted?

“It’s all your fault! Chiyo died because of you! Iori and Aoi getting demoted because of you!”

Those words came as a shocker. She was always the calm and collected one, the wise one. What happened? And why was she accusing you?

“What?”

The other concubine just let out a bitter chuckle before continuing to speak.

“Everything was fine until you happened! We were all happy and Sukuna didn’t neglect us! Then you came along and now you feel like you own the place because he prefers you over us! I was his favorite, not a blind, bastard woman!”

You gulped, not knowing what to say or do. Why was everyone saying that? The man hasn’t even slept with you! How could you possibly be his favorite when he hadn’t even bedded you yet!

“Don’t look so shocked! He would have never gotten rid of concubines! He never neglected us like this! Now he doesn’t even spare us a glance! It’s all your fault!”

The woman pushed past you, bumping into your shoulder as she did so. She reminded you of the people in the village. But you wouldn’t listen to her words. Just like you never did back in the village. You weren’t at fault for any of this.

While you continued to walk in the garden, a specific figure had seen the scene happening. Uraume had nothing to really do, so he wanted to engage in some Calligraphy in the garden. He had heard an argument and when he picked up on what it was, he immediately took note of what had happened. In his eyes, he had never liked Saeko. She had always been the most spoiled, a superiority complex because Sukuna bedded her the most. The other concubines had always known their place. Concubines, not potential brides. Saeko always thought differently, that Lord Sukuna saw her as a potential bride.

If anything, from all the concubines he had ever had, you had the most potential to be the bride of the King of Curses. Uraume has seen it firsthand. Sukuna actually wanted to spare you from all the atrocities he committed. He doesn’t want to bed you because he felt like he’d break you if he did. He was careful with you, which he wasn’t with anyone.

Uraume, after engaging in some Calligraphy, got up and walked to Sukuna’s den. He didn’t need to announce his presence, he had the privilege. There the curse stood, freshly bathed and having put on new clothes.

“Lord Sukuna.”

The monk bowed before spilling the news to Sukuna. The King of Curses’ eyes darkened at what had been told to him before sitting down. He had never liked the eldest concubine. He only kept her around because she knew how to keep up during intercourse. He found her too egotistical. He also hadn’t been blind at her jealousy towards the other concubines.

“Bring her to me tonight. She’s been around for way longer than she should’ve.”

Uraume just nodded before leaving the room. He had returned to the garden, only to find you stroking your dear feline in your lap. You must really like the garden, he thought to himself.

“Lady Y/n.”

The man greeted you before sitting down next to you, enjoying the sunset. You bowed quickly to show respect. It was nice and quiet.

“How has your day been, Uraume?”

You immediately engaged in conversation, something he appreciated about you. You liked Uraume a lot, the monk having been a great aid for you ever since you got here.

“It was pretty peaceful. I did some work, I was able to get some calligraphy in and now I get to watch the beautiful sunset.”

He left out the part where he heard Saeko belittle you, but you didn’t need to know that. She wouldn’t trouble you anymore. Sukuna would make sure of that.

“Could you describe to me what sunsets look like?”

You turned to him, hoping that he could explain the feeling of a sunset to you. People usually were really vague when it comes to describing these kinds of things, but you had a feeling that he could help.

“In short, they’re beautiful. The long version is that the sun has this beautiful warm glow that is even more intense during dawn. The colors in the sky start to blend into beautiful vibrant colors, ranging from orange, red and pink to less vibrant ones like purple and blue before eventually fading into the black night sky. It’s enchanting.”

Before he could continue, he saw tears flood down your face. He didn’t comment any further, just letting you enjoy the Vitamin D that was currently hitting your face. It added a glow to you that finally made Uraume understand why Sukuna was so fond of you.

“I wish I could see this with you.”

Her head dropped lightly before more tears spilled. The cat slowly cuddled up to her, trying to comfort its owner. Uraume had never really taken his vision for granted, but in this moment, he truly understood how lucky he was to have the ability to see. A tear flowed down his face, something that hadn’t happened to him, ever.

“Thank you for explaining what sunsets are like, Uraume. Maybe I will experience it one day.”

When the sun finally set, the man stood up. He had something left to do, so he wished you a good night and disappeared. His feet walked to where Saeko’s room was, sliding it open. The woman was reading when he came in.

“Lord Sukuna wants to see you.”

Her face practically shined when she was told those words, jumping off her bed and pushing past Uraume. He closed the fusuma and went to his own respective room, knowing exactly what was about to happen to her tonight.

Saeko slid the fusuma open to Sukuna’s room, not even announcing her presence. That was her second mistake of the day. When she entered, there the King of Curses was, in his usual nightly attire. He had to make her think that she was going to get some tonight.

“Finally decided to open your eyes?”

Slowly, she got on top of the man, sitting on his lap. Before she could do anything, the man grabbed a handful of her hair and yanked her off him. She was pushed on the ground, her eyes widened.

“My eyes are open. And so are my ears, you slut. You know that I have eyes and ears everywhere, do you? You also know that I don’t value disrespect. You insult one of the concubines, you feel superior compared to them and you don’t even show your own Lord respect? You know what happens to disobedient people here, right?”

The woman’s eyes widened even more with fear, hyperventilating as the man stepped closer and closer. Was this how Chiyo died as well? Because she’d disrespected you?

“Please don’t kill me, please!”

Sukuna didn’t listen and in an instant, the woman was reduced to a bloody mess. Her throat had practically been torn from her body, the blood splattered all over the room. It was quick, mainly because he didn’t want to hear her pathetic words anymore. Concubines always were trouble. He left the corpse on the ground before walking to where the bathing room was. Death followed him around, always has. He was used to it, not really caring about how others saw him.

Well, everyone but you.

That night he had spent in your room made him realize that he couldn’t care less about the other concubines. You caught his eye and he wouldn’t deny it any longer. Something about the blind woman was different. She was humble and kind, despite all of the discrimination she faced. Strong. He respected her and not many people had his respect.

When he was done, he walked out of the bathroom in nothing but a yukatabira. The thin fabric covered the most important part and that was enough. As he walked, he saw you. It was late, so you were probably walking back to your room. The cat held in your hand like it was your newborn. He took a deep breath before approaching you. When you wanted to open the fusuma to your room, something had been blocking your way.

You felt around, and when you felt something that represented a male chest, you stilled. The masculine smell, the build, the height… It had to be him.

“Lady Y/n.”

You pulled away, slowly setting the cat down so you could properly bow to Sukuna. You were standing in front, looking at what was probably his chest. You knew he was tall, but you had no idea where you had to look up at.

“Ryomen.”

His one hand found your cheek, slowly tilting your head up until your face was visible to him. Your breath grew a bit heavier, not knowing what was going to happen now. Why was he here?

“Can I come in?”

You just nodded, slowly sliding the fusuma open and entering the room. He followed, and so did the cat. The tiny feline got comfy in her bed before falling asleep almost immediately. It was oddly quiet. Tense.

“I will not have any concubines anymore.”

Your eyes widened as you heard that. What did he mean by that? Would he abandon you then? You just got used to the space here, what were you supposed to do now?

“Will I be kicked out?”

Sukuna’s eyes darkened at the thought. How dare you think he would let you go? No, he had a much better position for you. One that he had given much thought for the past few weeks.

“No. You will become my wife.”

That jaw of yours felt like it just unhinged. You would become what?! The man’s words had shocked you, so much so that it almost felt like a joke.

“Your wife?! Why? I’m not worth such a high rank, Ryomen! I’m blind! I was born out of wedlock! This can’t be-”

Before you could continue, his lips had found yours. The kiss was quick, just a way to make you shut up. A way to let you know that he wouldn’t take back his words.

“I do not care.”

You wanted to protest, but he quickly pulled you in for another kiss so that you couldn’t. This one was more his style. Rough, aggressive. Just like what the concubines had told you. He slowly set you down onto the tatami mat, positioning himself between your legs as his lips found your neck. His two hands worked on removing your kimono while the other removed his yukatabiro. You had never experienced sex before, so you held onto one of his hands, hoping he’d stop for a split second.

“I’ve never done this before, Ryomen.”

He did stop, but only for a split second. He couldn’t be that rough with her, that was for sure. But he still wanted her to enjoy her first time. If she was to be his wife, he would make sure that her pleasure came first.

“I’ll guide you.”

The man continued to press kisses to the sensitive skin of your neck, nipping lightly. Your back arched off the tatami mat and into his chest. You could feel something else lick you down there, which made for even more stimulation.

“I’ve got a second mouth on my abdomen. It will get you ready for me while my main mouth focuses on worshipping your body.”

His words felt slightly comforting, knowing that he was telling you what he was doing. It made you feel appreciated, that he was talking you through the process of intercourse. The mouth on his abdomen found your heat between your thighs. The tongue swirled itself around your button, which made you let out a moan. Your fingers found his hair, tugging lightly at the locks. His mouth on his face found your chest, taking a nipple into his mouth and biting down on it before easing it with a few licks. Your lower body grinded into his lower mouth, enjoying the pleasure that you were getting.

“Ryo…”

He groaned at the sensation before focusing on the other breast, one of his hands finding your neglected breast and massaging it. He was getting lost in the feel of you, your noises having turned him on in ways no one had ever done before. Her moans felt like sweet honey, one he would drown in. His kisses slowly moved towards your stomach before using his main mouth to get a proper taste of you. The juices that your cunt produced had been exquisite, the curse lapping his tongue over your clit and folds. He wanted to place a few fingers inside, but if anything was going to enter you for the first time, it would be one of his two cocks.

“I’m close…”

His two hands dug into your thighs, while the other two held your hips down. He was far too gone, having been bewitched by you. When he tasted your sweet release combined with your loud moan, he felt his cocks twitch.

“You did so well, my dear Y/n… Now, I will enter you. It will hurt, especially with my size. But once that pain is gone, it will feel good. Okay?”

The man placed multiple kisses on your face, brushing the tears away and even licking away some of them. He was afraid that he’d scared you away, but when you pulled him in for a kiss, he knew you wanted this.

“Hold onto me.”

Your hands felt around his body before holding onto his shoulders tightly. Slowly, he slid his cock inside you. You let out a shriek of pain the more he slid it inside. When he was balls deep, he didn’t move. He had just torn your walls, which definitely added to the pain. His lips found your cheek and ear, whispering sweet nothings into your ear.

“You can move.”

When you gave him the go, he slid out immediately. Another moan followed, a guttural moan this time. He looked at you, hoping you didn’t want to stop. When he felt you grip his shaft, the man let out a growl. Your hands guided him back inside your cunt, which immediately made him drop his resolve. He found a tempo, thrusting inside you like he’d been starved for centuries.

“R-Ryo. Ah!”

He didn’t slow down, not even in the slightest. He just kept going, his lower mouth taking a few lips of your cunt once again. His lips found your neck, continuing to place love bites.

“Fuck… I’m never going to let you go. So pretty for me, like your body was made for me. Shit… you’re going to make me cum already with the way you’re gripping me. Is that what you want? My kids inside of you?”

The dirty words he was whispering just added to the pleasure. His lower mouth didn’t stop its ministrations on your cunt, his tongue practically glued to your button. His cock slowly slid out, a liquid squirting on your stomach, making him let out a growl that immediately made you finish again.

“Fuck… You’re practically begging for another round. Did you know I have two cocks, dear? The other one feels neglected, so neglected. Can you go another round? I’ll fill you up real good, give your other hole some attention as well.”

The man slowly turned you around until you were on both your hands and knees. This time, he didn’t warn you. The neglected cock quickly found its way into your wet hole, making sure it’s nestled well. The other cock that had been covered with your slick slowly entered your other hole. The liquid of yours managed to make it glide inside easier, but it still hurt. Maybe even more than the other one.

“Ryo! Ah!”

You practically screamed as the man stuffed you with both of his genitals, but he was too lost in the pleasure to care. He gave you the time to adjust, a bit shorter this time around. When he moved, he leaned above you, your back pressed against his chest. His two hands held onto your waist, while the other two caressed your body.

“I usually hold out longer, but fuck… I feel like I’m already going to cum because of you. Ugh!”

His noises were sinful. They went directly to your cunt, your walls tightening around his shaft on instinct. The way you reacted just made him go deeper and deeper. At times, he would pull out before quickly going in again. When you finally felt him twitch inside of you, that’s how you knew he was close. His moves grew sloppier, he started to groan louder and his nails dug into your hips deeply.

“I’ll fill you up, yeah? Make you a mother to my kids. My wonderful wife creating life. Oh… Fuckkk…”

After a few seconds, the two of you finished at the same time. His cock in your other hold didn’t get filled up, the release ending up on your back. The other hole, however, had painted your walls white. He came so much that some even trickled down your thighs.

When he pulled out completely, you plopped down onto the tatami mat. Sukuna followed, pulling you into his arms as the two of you calmed down. The room reeked of sex and incense, a weird combination. His fingers ran along your spine, featherlight.

“Be my wife.”

Your head tilted upwards until your lips met his. You just nodded, your hand finding his cheek. Slowly, you let your thumb trace his face, trying to make out what he looks like. However, you couldn’t.

“I wish I could see you.”

The curse planted a kiss to her forehead, understanding what she meant. If only he could make her see the world, then he would. If he could make her see the beauties of the world, he’d burn the world to make sure she gets to witness the sakura season.

He would make sure of it.

Decades had passed at this point.

Ryomen Sukuna and his beloved wife had a family. An older daughter and a younger son. You had grown closer to Iori and Aoi since then, the women having turned into your closest friends in the temple. Uraume had managed to give you the ability to see through connections amongst all the curses.

You were still blind, but if you conjured enough cursed energy, you were able to manifest vision. That alone was more than you ever needed.

Sakura season had finally arrived.

The kids were sleeping soundly while you and Sukuna were sitting on a bench, admiring the petals that flew around. Your head was laid on his shoulder, one of his hands holding onto your shoulder.

“They’re beautiful this year.”

The curse gave the woman a kiss on the forehead before dropping a compliment to his dearest wife.

“Nothing beats your beauty.”

The two of you laughed before focusing on the scenery in front of you. Despite everything that had happened in both of your lives, you had found a way to meet one another. How you were given this chance had been traumatic and horrible, but you had always known that karma would get people sooner or later.

Sukuna would have massacred the village again if it meant he would meet her once more. For his wife, he’d let the whole world burn if she told him to.

With her, he felt at peace.
