A huff, followed by a groan. Sieun's brows furrow at the noises, small, yet laced with annoyance he can sense deep in his slumber. Something, more like someone shoves his knee, lightly but it has enough impact to earn a reaction out of him. He stirs out of his sleep, jolting out of his seat with a ragged sigh.
His eyes force open, caught by surprise from the darkness engulfing his vision, taking a moment to realize he's wearing an eye mask.
With one eye squinted, he pushes the material off his eyes, tucking most of his hair back in place. It takes him a moment to process his surroundings, the sun casting a pretty glow through the sunshields, soon blocked by his brother's frame as he starts gathering the candy wrapper in the cup holder.
"Did we arrive?" Sieun asks, stretching his arms over his head.
Wooyoung scoffs in response, bunching the wrappers into his fist before he tosses them into the bag he has in his hold. "'About time that you woke up," he mumbles, reaching for the empty bag of chips located across from Sieun, caging the boy into an awkward position. "Mom and dad went inside, they're moving in their luggages."
"And no one bothered waking me up?" Sieun grumbles, relaxing back into his seat. He glances past wooyoung, catching sight of the airbnb they're staying at.
"What do you think I'm doing?" Wooyoung replies, walking towards the trunk to grab his bag.
Sieun took a moment to appreciate the view encircling the house. It's located just down the shore, the beach not too far away. The ocean breeze is heading in their direction, causing the waves to rock, and radiating a cool weave of air despite how high the temperature was. The sun's casting a glow across the water, capturing every motion and curve belonging to the turquoise waves dancing with the rhythm of the air.
The brunet exits the car, shutting the door behind him and walking around it to get a better view of the rocking waves. His whole body relaxes, limbs going numb as he takes a whiff of the air, the smell of nature engulfing his nostrils and pumping adrenaline through his veins. The few hours he spent caged in the car were so worth it, even if his body feels like it's one nudge away from breaking.
He's soon disrupted by his brother's voice, startling him out of his head and urging him to grab his own luggage.
"Are you jus' gonna stand there?" Wooyoung chants, dragging his luggage across the rough ground. "Grab your stuff so we can head inside."
"Coming," Sieun mumbles, hauling himself towards the trunk. He slings his backpack over his shoulder, while propping the suitcase onto the floor, deliberately in case he accidentally damages it.
The place was rather big – not for a family of four. What really confirmed his suspicions is the unfamiliar car parked into the driveway. His eyebrows pinched with confusion, attention shifting to Wooyoung right as he's about to reach for the door handle.
"Is someone else here?" He questions, walking towards the airbnb entrance. Wooyoung comes to a halt, one of his hands resting over his hip. His eyebrow arches with judgement, earning himself a scowl out of Sieun. "What, who's that car for?"
"You didn't know?" Wooyoung responds, waiting for Sieun to walk himself over. "What, you thought it was only us?"
"Wasn't that what we had in plans?" Sieun mumbles, strolling towards his brother. Wooyoung signaled him to open the door, scooting back to give Sieun some space. Upon hesitating, he moves to unlatch it, grabbing the door handle and leisurely parting it open.
The first thing he notices is the noise, loud and chatty despite the distance separating them. There's people there, that's for sure, the voices belonged to not only their parents, but someone else. Sieun peaks his head inside, failing to identify the couple sitting just across from his mom and dad, with their backs faced to the door.
Sieun curses under his breath, turning back to face Wooyoung. The boy has an amused smile smothered across his lips, somehow entertained by Sieun's reaction. "There's people inside."
"That much is obvious by now." Wooyoung rolls his eyes, grabbing his suitcase and squeezing by to let himself inside. "You think I'm spending the next two months stuck with you?"
"We should've let you rot on campus." Sieun grumbles, following behind his brother. His steps are casual, yet deliberate to not put himself in the spotlight, nor capture the elders' attention. If he gets dragged into the conversation, he's never finding an exit, so he'd rather not risk it. "Why did no one tell me?"
"You never asked." Wooyoung's voice drops into a whisper, glancing over his shoulder. He strolls up the stairs, with Sieun following behind, almost getting both of them caught when his bag collides to the ground with a thud.
He winces in reaction, gaze trailing back to Wooyoung, whose teeth grit in reaction to the action. Sieun almost laughs, ridiculed by the whole situation. It feels like they're 16 again sneaking out to a party for the first time.
Once he reaches the top of the stairs, he settles the suitcase onto the floor, dragging it along as he observes each room, plenty of choices ahead, yet one seems to lure him in. His pupils dilate with intrigue once the layout of the furnitured place fills his sight.
"Pretty." He mumbles to himself, tracing the designed light switch with his fingers.
"It is," Wooyoung replies, his presence startling Sieun. "Great, this one's mine."
"Yours?" Sieun's face twists with annoyance, eyes following Wooyoung as he leans against the wall, now facing him. "I was here first, it's my room."
"Oh, we're going there?" He warns, cocking his head to the side. "I'll tell dad about the time you sneaked out everyday for an entire month, and made me cover for you when you got in trouble."
"That was four years ago," Sieun reasons, rolling his eyes. "You're threatening me when you've done worse. Remember all the marijuana you hid in my room? Or is that not–"
"Any fucking louder," Wooyoung stammers, slumping his shoulders with defeat. "We agreed not to bring that up."
"Whatever, get out of my room." Sieun shoved him towards the exist, urging him to leave, but instead he earns a dramatic gasp out of him. "Complain somewhere else, I'm not giving you this room."
"C'mon, Bug!" He whines, resisting the hand pressed to his back, forcing him out despite his attempt to not move. "There's better rooms, why do you want this one?"
"Probably for the same reason you do." He exclaims, giving wooyoung one last push and shutting the door. As soon as it shut it was parted open again. "And stop calling me that, if you refer to me as bug in front of everybody I'll end you."
"Everyone calls you Bug." Wooyoung clicks his teeth, fixing the collar of his shirt. "I forget your name isn't Bug sometimes, you know, jus' used to it."
"Are you trying to distract me right now? 'Cause it's not working." Sieun forces a tight-lipped smile across his face, earning a scoff out of Wooyoung. "Busy yourself with something else, I don't have the time to pamper you."
"'Kay, fuck you then." Wooyoung spits out, flipping Sieun off before he walks away.
Sieun closes the door with a chuckle, taunted hy his brother's lash out. Typically, he would've given the room away instead of arguing over it, but teasing Wooyoung is way more fun than that, and who is he to pass on such an opportunity?
He places his luggage on the bed, growing confused in reaction to the bed being slightly undone. It looks like someone was there earlier, laid on the bed, and left. It couldn't have been Wooyoung, he didn't even get a chance to sit down. He brushed it off, too exhausted to work his brain over such a little thing.
He searched through his belongings to find his shower bag, grabbing it out along with a comfortable set of clothes and a towel. Once he had everything that he needed, he grabbed his stuff, freezing when footsteps erupted through his ear.
He's painfully aware that this is not Wooyoung, otherwise he'd known by the click of the door. He aims for the shower bag, helpless and in need of a weapon.
He plans to turn around, and swing a hit. He has nothing to lose, and this seems like the only solution to his half-awake brain.
However, fate has other plans for him.
He turns around, and Sieun is expecting a robber, someone with their face covered, but it's not. To his surprise, it's not a robber but someone else, someone he's quite familiar with.
It's not just anyone, but Suho. Suho, the same person he messaged a few hours ago. For a second, he believed his eyes were playing tricks on him, because no way the same Suho from earlier is standing before him, with a towel hanging low on his waist.
It's a dream, has to be.
Suho doesn't look surprised by Sieun's presence. In fact, a blank expression remains on his face, lips slightly twitching, that if Sieun wasn't boring holes into his skin it would've gone unnoticed.
A nervous gulp dries Sieun's throat, gaze following the water drop trailing down Suho's chest, exposed, and on full display, revealing his muscular figure. From his shoulders down to his stomach, and probably beneath the towel, the whole of his body is toned, curved into his figure like a painting. Perfect, too perfect Sieun couldn't even hide the immense emotions he's experiencing in the moment.
Body aside, he's gorgeous, the photos he's seen online aren't doing him justice. His hair is dripping wet, bangs falling over his eyes that are a radiant shade of brown, glistening as they stare Sieun down. His nose is slightly pointy, and his cheeks are flushed, due to the shower he took, Sieun would guess. His lips are a topic on its own. they're pink, parted to reveal his pearly white teeth. Sieun fights the urge to lean forward and touch; feel him.
He shakes off the thoughts, clutching into the shower bag he still has in hand. Sieun instantly grows nervous when Suho takes a step forward, towering over him and making him feel small under his gaze.
Sieun flutters his eyes up at him, shifting his vision back to his chest when he caught Suho already staring at him.
Suho breaks into a grin, amused by how flustered sieun seems. He's nothing compared to how he was over text, and that much is obvious by now. He remains in his position for a moment, expecting a response from the boy, a question perhaps.
"I..." ah, there it is. "I didn't know someone was in here."
"I figured," he mutters, voice dripping with sweetness, Sieun almost melted in his spot. "Look at me."
The demand catches Sieun by surprise, but he obeys. His gaze shifts back to Suho, breath knocking out of his chest when their eyes make contact. He levels himself with Sieun's figure, adjusting his position where he stood now that he caught the boy's attention.
"You lied to me." He states within a whisper, breath fanning over Sieun's face.
"I'm sorry?" Sieun mumbles, goosebumps breaking out across his body at the proximity of the touch.
"So much for looking horrible."
Yeah, had he known Suho is going to be spending the next two months with him, he would not have shown up.
How's he supposed to put a limit for himself when Suho's already pulling shit like this?
