Chapter Text

The rain hit the windows outside, the storm quieter now than earlier. Choso stood in the kitchen, playing some music on the radio for noise as he absentmindedly watched the water boil on the stove. He threw the rice cakes in once it started boiling, just like Yuji taught him.

He stood, watching the rice cakes boil as he checked the time on the phone he hardly knew how to work. He sighed, feeling like the 3 minutes just kept dragging and dragging.

...Time always ran slow when Yuji was at school.

Choso had yet to start any official work.

They were waiting on some paperwork to go through. That’s what he was told, anyways.

He lived just off campus of Jujutsu Tech, settled into a humble little apartment with Yuji that Gojo had picked out for them. He enjoyed it- when Yuji was home. When he wasn't, it all felt quiet.

Choso didn't like the quiet.

He sighed to himself, adding the sauce as he kept waiting on the noodles. He went to the fridge, picking out other ingredients he could add to his lunch. Yuji mentioned getting a cat; Choso thought about it a lot lately.

The door opened, much to Choso's delight as Yuji hurried in and to his room.

"...Why aren't you at school?" he asked, furrowing his brow. It was the first day of second year; there was no reason for him to be here.

Yuji simply smiled, pausing by the kitchen on his way back out. "Forgot my phone; Teach let me run over during our lunch break. Gotta go- she's timing me," he chuckled, checking his watch,

Choso hummed, stirring his rice cakes. "...Oh...Alright. I'll see you later then, Yuji."

Yuji smiled, offering a wave as he turned back to the door and hurried back out.

The apartment was quiet again. Choso turned, focusing on making his lunch once more.

Choso sat in the living room, snacking on some chips as he watched Pokémon on the tv. He hardly got the plot of the show, but Yuji was the one who knew how to turn it on from the first episode and explain what was going on.

He was hardly paying attention, anyways.

The door opened again, with Yuji kicking off his shoes and putting his bag on the rack. "I'm home," he chuckled, finding Choso lounging on the couch.

Choso smiled, offering a wave as Yuji joined him, doing his magic with the remote and putting the show on from the first episode for him. "You like pokemon?"

"I'm not sure yet," Choso hummed, sipping on some water with a shrug, "...Haven't watched much...How was your day?"

"Good," Yuji mumbled, rubbing his neck as he stretched, "New teacher is nice. I like her. Just Kugisaki and Fushiguro in the class with me again."

"Gojo isn't your teacher?"

"No, he does first year," he hummed, "We have a new second year teacher; She's pretty chill though. I like her. Gojo invited us all out for habachi to, 'build bonds,' at 6. Told me to tell you 'cuz you never texted back," Yuji elaborated taking some chip from his bag.

Choso let him, thinking about it as he checked the time. He nodded, inspecting the message on the screen he hadn’t noticed "...Alright…When should we go?”

Yuji thought about it, before he smiled. “Eh. Let’s chill for a bit, then we can go on out in about an hour or so.”

The little brother took some chips from the bag, watching the show on Tv. Choso chuckled, following suit as he turned back to the colors on the screen.
