My soul

Summary:

Emily sells her soul to Alastor

Chapter Text

Emily was at the hotel lobby, saying “hi”s to everyone she encountered. She was giving out the usual letters from Heaven, and was looking out for Cherry Bomb, because Ser Pentious told her to that this letter was at utmost importance.

She wanted to take it seriously

“Hey Emily” greeted her Charlie with a bright smile, which she returned eagerly, she noticed though that someone else was also with her
“Delivering letters again?” Emily nodded “This is the third load this week, man, I'm sorry, that it is this much” said Charlie with an apologetic look, while taking out a stack from the bag, and flipping through the addressed names.

“Don't worry, I'm happy that Sinners and Winners can finally communicate in a way. By the way, it is nice to meet you normally, you are Alastor, right?” asked the seraph with an opened hand for the shaking

“Quite perceptive” said the radio demon with his usual undecipherable smile, while taking her hand.

His hand felt warmer than she expected

“Oh, I thought you guys have met before” said the blonde princess, while they let their hands go

Emily instinctively moved her golden wing, as if to reassure herself, that she still had some sort of wing in it's original place, a movement that the demon noticed

“Dear Charlie, don't you think that, that memory for a little angel could be troubling to recall?” asked Alastor, with only a pinch of menace in his tone

Emily saw that this hit Charlie, and the seraph wanted to interject before she could start crying for an apology

“No, it is okay, I actually like thinking about it” said the well versed half truth with her biggest smile “it was so scary, but at the same time, I`m just happy, that we were able to save so many sinners, and that I was able to save you” she said with a more honest smile this time, while shifting her attention to Alastor

His ears flickered once, before his normal demeanor returned

“I just hope not to make a regular occurrence of it” replied with his usual grin

“Alastor! Don`t you think you should thank Emily at least?” said the blonde accusingly

The Radio demon's smile twitched just once, which Emily noticed

“Oh no, it is not necessary” she said, and then quickly gave her “bye”s before flying off

She was not sure, why this whole topic was making her uncomfortable, but all she knew was that she did not like the look in those red eyes.

She delivered all the letters, before returning to Heaven.

Crossing the pearly gates did not bring the calmness she thought it would, so she restlessly went to Sera`s office.

She had requested a more permanent stay in the Hotel, which was still not approved of, and she was getting impatient

A week later she was at the hotel again, with a packed bag, listening to Charlie welcoming speech

“Dear Hazbin Hotel, our best angel friend will be joining us in the work of redeeming sinners, for the foreseeable future, please welcome Emily!” everyone was happy, and all of them went up to her to personally give their greetings

She talked with so many people, that she was beginning to feel the fatigue of it all, and unknowingly went to the bar to order a drink from Husk.

“Drinking already on the job?” joked the cat demon, before putting down a virgin Mojito in front of her

She smiled gratefully before taking it, not noticing the other person who appeared from the shadows on the bar stool, watching her with interest.

“I see that you already familiarized yourself with the most important part of this establishment” came the radio voice with audible smirk

Her eyes went straight to the source of the voice

“Hi Alastor, sorry, I did not notice you at the bar before, how are you?” she asked with a cheerful attitude

“I`m well, thank you, how do you find your welcome?”

“I love meeting everyone!”

“Ohh, quite interesting, do you love meeting rapists and murderers?” he asked with intoxicating sarcasm.

She was taken aback by it

“They are all here to repent and redeem themselves, we should give a chance for everyone” she said, but her voice was less self assured as she hoped for

“Well not everyone is here for such pure intentions” he mentioned, before finishing his whiskey and melting away into the shadows again

She was looking frantically for him, searching the lobby with her eyes.

“Hey, if you want a piece of advice, whatever you do, keep your distance from him” said Husk to her seriously, while wiping a glass in his hand “and whatever you do, don't ever get into any deals with him”

Her eyebrows went up in question, what did he mean by it?
He sighed

“Look, I'm not sure how it works, in Heaven, but here in Hell, people can make deals for their souls, people can sell their souls, and then they would be forever on another demon's leash” he spitted the last words, before turning away to put the glass in it's place

She needed a bit more info

“Wait, but if it's a deal, then wouldn't that mean, you get something out of it as well?” she asked with curiosity laced into her words

“Those fuckers know how to twist words, so you may not get anything out of it” Husk said with an annoyed tone

He sighed again

“Please just promise me to not do any deal with Alastor or anyone else” he said with a calmer voice

“Öhmm okay, but what is so wrong with Aalstor?”

“He is dangerous, selfish and would do anything to get more power, having an angel in his arsenal would be a goal of his” he said with the annoyance in his tone again

She had to think this over

After she went to bed, she was still thinking about it.

She did not know Alastor that well, or even at all, but she knew that she believed in Charlie`s dream.

Anyone could be redeemed

She slept absolutely nothing the night before, and was up at 6am, walking around the floors of the hotel, to figure out which was Alastor`s room

She knocked after half hour of searching

She knew it was too early, but for the life of her, she could not sleep until this plan was put in motion

The door opened on her second knock, with an unamused Alastor, holding a whiskey drink in his hand, and looking disheveled.

It seemed someone else also had trouble sleeping

“Hey Alastor, good morning, sorry for the intrusion, may I come in?”

He let her in without a word, and signaled for her to sit down at his couch

“To what do I owe the please of your sudden visit?” he asked with fake kindness in his voice, while he sat at the armchair across from her

“I want to make a deal with you” she said, and visibly saw the light return into his blood red eyes

“Ohh” he smirked while pulling his drink to his lips “And what would you like to offer?”

“My soul” she said and the light in the room blinked once, while every lamp started to move with a green hue. She was too distracted to notice his eyes following her every breath

“Ohh, isn`t that interesting?” his smirk grew while he leaned forward in his chair “And what would you like in return?” his words were slippery with sweetness, she was almost getting dizzy from all stimulation at once

“You have to try earnestly and honestly to redeem yourself and get to heaven” she said, feeling proud of her idea.

If her theory was true, then he could redeem himself, and then her soul would belong to her again after. No problems at all

“And what happens if I still don't make it to heaven?” he put his drink down, and leaning back on the chair with laced fingers.

“You will make it” she said with her biggest smile

“That is your theory, but what happens in case I don't make it?” he asked again, still studying her

She had to think about it, it would only be a hypothetically, because she was sure anyone could be redeemed with the right help and attitude

If he still remained in hell, then she supposed she would have to stay as well

“Then we remain here, and continue” she said, not noticing the fast light shift in his eyes

“I accept” he said while he was getting up, watching her expectantly

ohh yeah, this would have to be the time when they shake hands, and the deal is officially made

She got up fast as well, and grabbed his reached out hand
