Work Text:
Jungkook got married pretty early in his life, genuinely thinking it was the best decision he’d ever made. He met his wife through a friend, and after hanging out a few times, they decided they clicked so they hooked up, got together and tied the knot. She was a boss lady, still is, and her high-powered career ended up being one of the main reasons they split.
She was always prim and proper, all about authority and cash flow, completely devoted to her business. What she never told Jungkook while they were dating was that she never wanted kids.
A year into their marriage, they welcomed their first child, Jeon Siwon. Very cute, very chubby and loved attention. Unfortunately, once Siwon was weaned off breastfeeding, her mum had zero interest in taking care of her. Jungkook ended up bringing his daughter to work with him. Luckily, he owned a tattoo parlor and most of his staff were more than happy to dote on his baby. They’d take turns watching her and feeding her whenever Jungkook had a client.
When Siwon turned two, her mum asked for a divorce, saying she never wanted a kid and that her job would always come first, along with all that other bullshit. Jungkook didn’t even fight it. He’d seen it coming anyway, with how she came home late almost everyday, barely checked on their daughter and never bothered with school or anything. It was obvious the marriage was already falling apart.
So he accepted it. If she wanted out, he wasn’t going to make things harder.
A couple of months later, things finally started looking up. Jungkook figured he needed a night to himself, so he hired a nanny to watch Siwon and headed to a nearby bar. All he wanted was a few drinks, just enough to get a buzz, not enough to get wasted. That was until someone took the seat next to him.
They talked. They smiled. They laughed. Jungkook wasn’t even looking for love again, but it landed right in his lap, like he’d hit the jackpot.
And after Jimin said he didn’t mind that Jungkook was a single parent, the rest was history.
“I want Jimi-i-i-n!”
Jungkook sighs for the third time that morning as he drives her to school. Siwon’s been throwing tantrums almost every day that week when she’s refusing to leave the house, crying and screaming for Jimin. Most mornings end with Jungkook carrying her into the car while she stubbornly ignores every instruction he gives.
Siwon is already five years old, and while she’s usually a well-behaved kid, she turns into a full-on brat whenever Jimin’s around. Everything has to go her way, and sometimes it feels like she forgets Jungkook is her actual dad, judging by how tightly she clings to Jimin.
“I don’t want seonsaengnim, I wanna stay with Jimin!” Siwon kicks her dangling feet against the passenger seat, thumping her hands on her thighs as she sniffles angrily.
“You’ve got school.” Jungkook says, bored and tired, one hand on the steering wheel while the other rests against the window as he rubs his temple. “You do this every day, baby. I’m not exactly thrilled about your behaviour.”
“I want Jimin.” Siwon pouts, a tear slipping down her cheek as she turns toward her dad, completely ignoring everything he just said. “Daddy…”
“You want Jimin? Then you’ve gotta go to school. We’re almost there.” Jungkook grabs a tissue from the dashboard and hands it to her. “Wipe your tears.”
Reluctantly, Siwon wipes her face dry, though the whining doesn’t stop.
Jungkook never once expected this to happen when he asked Jimin to move in with him last week. He’d thought it made sense since they’d already been dating for three years, and they saw each other every day anyway. Sending Jimin home after their dates had started to feel weird. Going home together, on the other hand, felt right.
Ever since then, Siwon has glued herself to Jimin like he’s a second parent. She follows him everywhere, sits with him, crowds his space. They’re stuff that Jungkook used to get all to himself. Not that it’s a bad thing. It’s actually hella cute knowing how much she enjoys Jimin’s presence.
The downside is the chaos every morning when it’s time for school. Siwon latches onto Jimin in bed while he’s still asleep, crying and hugging him whenever Jungkook tries to pull her away. The tighter Jungkook tugs, the harder Siwon grips Jimin’s clothes, and one time he genuinely thought she was going to rip Jimin’s shirt.
Most mornings, she leaves the house in tears, screaming at the top of her lungs. It’s starting to feel like a routine. Jungkook has already had to apologise to their neighbours more than once while dragging her onto the porch as they witnessed her morning shenanigans, both confused and irritated.
Jungkook unbuckles her seatbelt once they arrive. When he opens the car door, she doesn’t move, stubbornly staying put.
“Siwon, you’ve got five seconds. Five…four…three—”
She grabs her bag from the car floor and tosses it onto the ground before stomping out.
“Yah! That’s a new bag.” Jungkook picks it up, dusts it off, and the moment he slips it onto her shoulders, she starts crying all over again.
“Oh my fucking god.” He tilts his head toward the sky, eyes squeezed shut, muttering to himself as the last thread of his patience stretches thin.
“Alright. Come on.” He takes Siwon’s hand and walks her toward the school’s glass doors at the front. “Daddy has a shop to open.”
And without fail, most of the parents there never shy away from staring at Jungkook especially when he shows up to drop off his daughter in a leather jacket and ripped jeans, finger tattoos on display and multiple face and ear piercings glinting under the morning sun. Once, he even caught one of the teachers looking at him in mild panic when he picked Siwon up wearing nothing but a basic black shirt, his full-sleeve arm tattoo fully exposed, like they thought he might be a gangster or something.
It’s pretty common for him to get looks when Siwon shows up looking like a little princess, hair in two ponytails with straight bangs and a bunch of colourful clips decorating the top of her head. He can practically see the questions in their eyes, wondering how someone like him ended up raising a kid like her.
Siwon’s teacher comes out to greet them, all bright and cheery, but Siwon doesn’t even look her way as she fights back tears. She tightens her grip on Jungkook’s hand as they get closer to the entrance.
“How are you feeling today, Siwon? Ready to meet your friends in class?” The teacher asks, reaching out to guide her inside.
That’s when Siwon completely loses it, bursting into tears and clinging to Jungkook’s leg.
“Daddy-y-y! I don’t wanna go to school!” She cries loudly, drawing everyone’s attention as she grips his jeans, face scrunched up and soaked with tears.
“Baby, come on. Be good for me, hm?” Jungkook rubs his thumb over her flushed cheeks. No matter how many times this happens, it still hurts seeing her cry right before going in. “Go with your teacher. She’s waiting for you.”
“Come now, Siwon. Your Daddy’s going to be late for work. Let’s go meet your friends, okay?” The teacher says gently.
She tries to pull Siwon away, but Siwon only clings harder, stretching her arms up to tug at Jungkook’s jacket.
“No, Daddy! I wanna go with you! I want Jimin!”
“Baby, what did I tell you in the car?”
Siwon shakes her head stubbornly. “I want Jimi-i-i-n!”
The teacher lets out a nervous chuckle, clearly awkward now that she can’t peel the girl away. “Is she, um…perhaps asking for her mother?”
Of course, the teachers know about Siwon’s situation. They’re aware her parents are divorced and that she lives with Jungkook. But they’ve never met her mum, not once. She never bothered dropping Siwon off in the past, and they don’t even know her name. So with Siwon showing up to school crying for Jimin every morning, it’s only natural they’d get curious, maybe even assume her parents had gotten back together.
“No.” Jungkook sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Jimin’s my boyfriend. She’s kinda obsessed with him. He moved in last week.”
“Oh…”
Judging by the teacher’s expression, the surprise is obvious at the boyfriend part.
“Alright, come here, you brat.” Jungkook crouches down and pulls Siwon into a hug. “Daddy’s got you, okay?”
Siwon clings to him instantly, arms wrapped tight around his neck as she rests her chin on his shoulder. “Daddy…”
“How about this, do you want Jimin to pick you up later?” Jungkook feels her nod against him. “Yeah? Okay. Let me call him and see if he’s free.”
“Okay.” Siwon mumbles, still refusing to let go.
Jungkook fishes his phone out with one hand, scrolls to Jimin’s contact, and hits call before pressing it to his ear. Jimin’s probably still asleep after being aggressively woken up earlier by Siwon, so it wouldn’t surprise him if the call goes unanswered.
“Hello?” Jimin’s sleepy voice finally comes through the line.
“Hey, babe. Sorry to wake you up. Siwon’s being a naughty girl again.”
Jimin hears the angry little whine in the background, followed by Siwon crying louder after clearly being teased. He chuckles, because it’s ridiculously cute how Jungkook’s daughter keeps seeking him out when he’s not even her real parent.
“You really love making her mad.”
“Hm. I really do.” Jungkook says lightly. “Anyway, she keeps asking for you. Again. Think you’ll be free to pick her up later?”
Before Jimin can even answer, Siwon’s voice rings out.
“Jimin! Jimin! I want Jimin to come!”
“Mmm… sounds like a you problem.” Jimin chuckles sleepily, rubbing at his eyes before rolling onto his stomach, tucking one hand under his chin against the pillow.
“Aw, come on, babe. Not you too.”
“Kidding.” Jimin giggles softly. “I’ll do it. Want us to swing by your parlor?”
“Do whatever you want with her. You’re her favourite—wait, Siwon, hold on—”
There’s some rustling over the phone before the line clears, and a small voice comes through. “Jimin, you’ll pick me up later, right?”
Siwon’s voice is still rough from crying, sadness lingering because Jimin isn’t there with her right now.
“Yes, pumpkin. I’ll come fetch you. Then we’ll go see your dad at work.”
“Fetch me quickly, okay?”
“Okay, pumpkin. I’ll see you later. Can you pass the phone back to your dad?”
More rustling follows before Jungkook’s voice comes back on the line. “Hey, babe. I’ll see you later at three. Be late or whatever, just make sure you two have lunch before you come, yeah?”
“Mhm, okay. Bye.”
“Bye. I love you.”
Jungkook ends the call and slips his phone back into his pocket. “Okay, you heard that?” He gently peels Siwon’s arms from around his neck. “Jimin’s coming. So you’ve gotta wait for him at school until he comes to fetch you. Got it?”
Siwon nods with a pout, her eyes still red and watery.
“So dry your tears.” Siwon wipes her eyes with the back of her hands, letting out a small whine.
“Give me a kiss.” She leans forward and plants a quick peck on Jungkook’s cheek.
“And get your ass through that door.”
Siwon hesitates for a second before the pout comes back. Then she gives Jungkook a quick hug and finally lets herself be led away, hand in hand with her teacher. When she looks back, Jungkook presses two fingers to his lips and blows her a flying kiss.
The small crack of a smile that breaks across her face is a relief to see.
As soon as Siwon disappears behind the doors, Jungkook heads back to his car when his phone buzzes. He pulls it out to see Yoongi calling—one of his staff from the parlor.
“Yeah, I’m on my way.”
“Boss, what the hell? You said you’d open up the place, so I didn’t even bring the key home.”
Yoongi’s one of his senior staff, and the one Jungkook’s closest to, so the informal tone comes naturally. Then again, Yoongi just doesn’t give a fuck.
“Sorry. Kid trouble this morning, but it’s sorted now. I’ll be there in twenty.”
“Hi, I’m Jimin. I’m here to pick up Jeon Siwon. I think her dad, Jungkook, mentioned it to the teachers.”
Jimin finishes work just in time to pick up his favourite little girl. Ever since he got promoted last year, he’s been working from home, and his job comes with pretty flexible hours, meaning once he’s done with everything on his to-do list, he can call it a day.
Like today.
“Oh! Siwon, yes. Her dad did mention it. I’ll bring her out.”
About twenty seconds later, Jimin hears excited footsteps pounding against the wooden floor, followed by the teacher calling after her to be careful.
“Jimin!”
Siwon comes running toward him with open arms and a giddy smile, her backpack bouncing against her shoulders. The moment Jimin scoops her up, she melts into his hold. “You came for me!”
“Of course I did. I told you I would, didn’t I?” Jimin smiles. “Am I late?”
“Nuh-uh! You’re right on time!” She waves goodbye to her teacher before walking out with Jimin, fingers wrapped tightly around his hand, her mood visibly brighter now. “Can I get ice cream?”
“I was actually gonna treat you to something even better. ” Jimin teases, smiling. “So if you want ice cream, you’ll have to pay for it yourself.”
Siwon grumbles, her face scrunching into a pout. “But Daddy doesn’t give me money.”
Jimin bites back a laugh at her innocence. “Okay, then how about this. We make Daddy treat us to dessert later? I think there’s an ice-cream and bingsu cafe near his shop.”
“Deal!”

since when?!!
The tattoo parlor buzzes with the steady hum of tattoo machines, working through each client in their chair, carving everything from intricate koi fish to silly cartoons and inspiring quotes. Jungkook makes sure the place looks a little lavish, with potted plants, abstract paintings, and velvet armchairs filling the lounge area. He’s got diffusers running all over the shop to mask the sharp smell of ink and alcohol spray, especially back when he used to bring his daughter to work almost every day.
Because of that, he’d also made an effort to accommodate clients with young kids. There’s a small play area set up with books and toys to keep them entertained while their parents get tattooed.
It’s nothing fancy, just a humble little space that’s aesthetically pleasing enough to draw people in while still being kid-friendly. Sure, a tattoo parlor isn’t exactly the ideal place for children to begin with, but raising Siwon on his own taught Jungkook to make it work anyway.
Jungkook looks up from his trolley when the bell rings as the door swings open, his smile lighting up instantly when he sees his two favourite people.
“Hey, baby—”
“Uncle Yoongi!” Siwon bolts past her dad, completely ignoring Jungkook, who’s already crouched down with open arms, ready to catch her.
“Brat.” Jungkook mutters under his breath, rolling his eyes.
“A treat for the boss.” Jimin smiles warmly as he walks up to his boyfriend, drink in hand. He sets it on the counter, then leans in to steal a kiss.
“My own daughter doesn’t care about me. This is why I have you.” Jungkook nuzzles into Jimin’s neck, peppering his skin with kisses.
Jimin giggles at the ticklish sensation. He loves how his big, tattooed, pierced boyfriend doesn’t care about public affection and how Jungkook melts instantly whenever he’s holding him. To most people, Jungkook looks terrifying, someone you avoid eye contact with in case he snaps. In reality, he’s just a big, harmless teddy bear.
“Got plenty of appointments today?”
“One later in the evening, but I’m free now. Just organising my stuff after the last client.”
Jungkook’s pretty well-known around the neighbourhood for his creativity and professionalism, which is why people still line up to book with him despite his hefty rates. Unlike the others, he doesn’t take on many appointments. He prefers to keep his schedule light so he can spend more time at home with Siwon. When he does open slots, it’s usually for big pieces like full sleeves or especially intricate designs.
“Thanks for picking her up.” Jungkook gently sweeps the hair on Jimin’s forehead aside. “I know it’s been a crazy couple of days with her raging on your bed and crying. I’m gonna talk to her about her behaviour, because that’s pretty shitty for a 5 year old—”
“Daddy!” Siwon pops up beside him, tugging urgently at his shirt. “Daddy!”
“What?!” Jungkook snaps, clearly annoyed at being interrupted right in the middle of what was supposed to be a very sweet speech to Jimin.
“Can I have money?”
Jungkook scowls, confused. “Go ask your Uncle Yoongi.”
“I wanna eat ice cream!”
Jungkook groans, still low-key irritated that he can’t even finish talking about discipline when his own kid is already demanding cash and dessert.
“Yeah, Daddy.” Jimin adds innocently, blinking as he tilts his head. “I told you that you owe us dessert, remember?”
Jungkook shoots him a narrowed look that clearly says, ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’. Then he turns to Siwon. “Go get my wallet from my jacket in the break room.”
The moment she hears that, Siwon takes off excitedly, practically sprinting away.
“Are you taking her side, hm?” Jungkook cups his face, planting kisses across his jawline as he walks Jimin back against the wall. “Because if you are, I’ll have to punish you later for encouraging her.”
Jimin pouts playfully, batting his lashes as he drags the tip of his finger down Jungkook’s chest. “Does that mean I’m not getting dessert tonight?”
Jungkook can’t hide his smile. He bites down on his bottom lip and drops his forehead onto Jimin’s shoulder with a soft groan. “Babe, you’re gonna make me hard like that.”
“I got your wallet, Daddy!” Siwon suddenly yells, running up front and waving the wallet in her hand.
“Let’s go spend Daddy’s money!” Jimin giggles, grabbing Siwon’s hand and throwing Jungkook a flirty wink before the two of them head for the door.
Jungkook just stands there, dumbfounded, like he’s being ganged up on for absolutely no reason by his own kid and the man he loves. Jimin has decided to add himself to the chaos that’s already running his life in the form of Siwon. Jungkook lets out a long sigh before tugging off his apron and pumping sanitizer into his palms.
“Yoongi, watch the place. I’m heading out for a bit.”
Yoongi hums in response from his chair, carefully inking a small black rose just above a client’s knee.
“Boss, can I get ice cream too?” Taehyung smirks from his station.
Jungkook doesn’t usually take on apprentices, but Taehyung’s young, quirky, and has a good personality, though he has a talent for saying the most random shit at the worst possible times. Jungkook can tell how badly the kid wants to get on his good side… and Siwon’s.
“Sure.” Jungkook grins. “I’ll just take it out of your paycheck.”
“So what are we spending my money on?”
Jimin and Siwon are standing outside a small white cafe across the street from Jungkook’s tattoo parlor. Jungkook slips an arm around Jimin’s waist, pulling him closer as they watch the little girl study the menu pasted against the glass window. Siwon’s completely captivated by the aesthetic pictures of bingsu—ones drenched in chocolate sauce, others piled high with mini marshmallows and sprinkles, and some topped with chewy mochi neatly arranged around the bowl.
“She takes food very seriously.” Jimin whispers, eyes still on Siwon, who’s got her tongue poking out in concentration. “Just like you.”
“Food should always taste good.” Jungkook replies easily. “Makes every cent worth it.”
“I want this!” Siwon points excitedly at a picture of a purple bingsu that’s supposedly yam-flavoured, topped with brown sugar jelly and little taro balls in white and orange lining the sides.
Jungkook hands her some cash, looking every bit like a rich dad spoiling his princess. Siwon takes it with a huge smile.
“Think you can order by yourself, baby?” He asks gently. “Tell the lady you want one large yam bingsu. You’ve got this. I trust you.”
Siwon eagerly slips through the door, quietly repeating the order under her breath so she won’t forget what to say by the time she reaches the counter.
“You’re such a responsible dad.” Jimin smirks as he slides into the booth, taking the inner seat. “Teaching your kid how to order like that. Kinda hot.”
“Well, if I’m raising her myself, I’ve gotta raise her right.” Jungkook keeps an eye on Siwon in the queue, lifting a hand to wave so she knows where they’re seated. “Plus, it buys me a few minutes alone with you before she comes back. She’s practically glued to you, like a rat to a trap.”
Jimin bursts out laughing, eyes crinkling into crescents until he can barely see. “You’re mean. Anyway, what were you saying earlier about disciplining her before you got rudely interrupted by your daughter?”
“Right.” Jungkook sighs. “I’m gonna talk to her about it. It’s embarrassing enough dragging her out every morning while my neighbours give me pissed off looks, and it’s not fair that she’s ruining your beauty sleep.” He reaches over and lightly pinches Jimin’s cheek. “How else is this face supposed to stay pretty for me if you don’t get your eight hours?”
Jimin scoffs. “Bet you’d still want me with two hours of sleep and bags under my eyes.”
“Mhm.” Jungkook’s voice drops, murmuring right into Jimin’s ear. “Two hours of sleep because you’re covered in my cum all night sounds about right.”
“Jungkook, seriously!” Jimin squeezes his boyfriend’s face, lips puffing out in an exaggerated pout. “You’re insufferable.”
“We should probably start doing it in a hotel.” Jungkook says, genuinely pondering it as he props his fist under his chin. “Uninterrupted sex, all night long. No worrying about someone banging on our door demanding breakfast.”
Jimin arches a brow, deadpan. “So you wanna hire a babysitter just so we can… fuck without stopping?”
“Now you’re getting it.”
“You’re crazy, Jeon Jungkook.”
“Crazy for you.” Jungkook grins. “I think it’s worth it. Oh—” He’s on his feet immediately when he spots Siwon carefully carrying a tray toward them, hands trembling as she takes slow steps, holding her breath like that’ll stop it from tipping over. “Hey, baby. You’re doing great.”
Jimin watches as Jungkook steps in to help, his hands cupping over Siwon’s to steady the tray, encouraging her softly all the way to the table. Warmth blooms in Jimin’s chest the longer he takes in the scene—a big, intimidating tattoo shop owner, feared by half the neighbourhood, now crouched down helping his little girl deliver a bowl of bingsu because she’s craving something sweet.
This wasn’t what Jimin imagined all those years ago when he slid onto the bar stool next to Jungkook. He hadn’t even been looking for a relationship. But Jungkook had been so full of hope, so alive, it made Jimin want to lean in and see where things could go. And honestly, with the double lip piercings, the brow ring, and the ridiculous number of earrings lining his ears, attraction had come easily.
He never imagined dating someone who was once married, hell, even dating a father wasn’t on the list. But Jungkook carried it differently. He didn’t look like someone weighed down by baggage like so many divorced men or single parents Jimin had met before. Instead, he seemed really proud to be raising her on his own. He never complained, never spoke bitterly about it. Parenthood to Jungkook was always framed as something good.
“Daddy, look! The lady gave me a free ice-cream cup. I wanna share it with Jimin!” She hands her dad a bunch of crumpled notes and coins.
“You’re so sweet, pumpkin.” Jimin coos.
“I paid for the desserts.” Jungkook says mildly. “Why can’t I have some too?”
“You’re already sitting with Jimin.” Siwon shoots him a glare, like the answer should be obvious. She looks genuinely offended that she’s been forced to sit across from both of them instead.
“That babysitter idea doesn’t sound so bad now, does it?” Jungkook leans in and whispers to Jimin.
Jimin mouths shut up at him before scooping up a taro ball and holding it out toward Jungkook with his spoon.
Siwon’s mood whiplash hits Jimin all at once. Just this morning, she’d been clinging to his shirt, sobbing to him while he was half asleep as he tried to gently pry her fingers away, murmuring reassurances. Now she’s sitting here in a cafe, perfectly content, ice cream in front of her and not a care in the world.
Kids, Jimin thinks, smiling to himself.
“Oh, right. Baby, I need to talk to you about today.” Jungkook starts.
“Wait, Daddy, look!” Siwon suddenly digs into her pocket and pulls out three handmade bracelets. Two are made of yellow and purple beads, each with a tiny puppy charm dangling from it. The third one’s black and white, finished with a small rabbit charm.
“I made these in class today. This one’s yours, Daddy.” She hands Jungkook the bracelet with the rabbit charm. “Jimin and I have matching ones!” She adds with a giggle.
“Oh, look at that. I’ve got matching bracelets with your daughter,” Jimin chuckles as he slips the elastic band onto his wrist. “It’s so cute, pumpkin. Thank you. I love that you picked a little puppy for me.”
“And mine’s black and white because…?” Jungkook asks, amused.
“Because if Daddy wears the yellow one to work, it’ll be too colourful.” Siwon explains seriously. “What if the customers make fun of you?”
Jimin lets out a soft, fond aww beside him. “She’s being considerate.”
Jungkook sighs, smiling. “Thanks, baby. I love it. But I don’t think anyone really cares what colour I wear. Why am I a rabbit?”
“We ran out of puppies.” Siwon says flatly, spooning more bingsu into her mouth. Without missing a beat, she asks. “Daddy, can I watch videos on your phone?”
“Right, before that. I want you to know that…” Jungkook glances briefly at Jimin and clasps his hand on the table. “Jimin and I are not exactly pleased with your attitude this week.” Jimin scowls slightly, wondering why he’s roped into this conversation. “You know, all the crying and tantrums.”
He catches Jungkook giving him a look, waiting for him to say more. “Yeah, pumpkin. I think it’s not really nice to be screaming in the morning. You know, your neighbours might still be sleeping. Or me, perhaps. Siwon’s a big girl, right? You know how to handle your emotions.”
“Mmm, but I just wanna stay with Jimin.” Her pout returns, shoulders slumping as she twirls her spoon.
“Baby, Jimin’s already living with us. He’s not going anywhere—I hope?” Jungkook steals a quick glance at Jimin, who gives a reassuring nod and smile. “Jimin’s gonna be there when you come home from school, when you wake up on the weekends. So can we…try to be a little less crazy tomorrow morning? Make it easier on Daddy?”
“Yeah, okay.” Siwon says quietly, still looking a little sad.
“Good girl. Good talk.” Jungkook slides his phone across the table. “Ten minutes only. No funny videos. And put the volume up.”
Her face lights up as she enters the password—four digits of Jimin’s birthday, memorized long ago. She props the phone against the tissue holder, opens YouTube and starts scrolling through shorts.
“You think she’ll actually listen?” Jimin whispers, pulling his spoon from his mouth and leaning closer to Jungkook.
“Don’t know. Worth a shot.”
“Jimin, eat the ice cream!” Siwon reaches over, spoon aimed at him and Jungkook takes the chance to grab her hand and pops the spoon into his own mouth instead.
“Daddy, it’s not for you-u-u!” She giggles, scooting the spoon toward Jimin while fending off her dad’s playful attempts to steal it.
The evening settles into its usual rhythm. Jungkook has his last appointment for the day, and while Siwon keeps herself busy in the play area at the parlor, Jimin scrolls through emails on his phone behind the counter. It feels so domestic, so married-life, like he’s just waiting for his husband to finish work so they can go home together. And when he glances at Siwon, he can’t help but feel like she’s his child too.
At this point, she already is.
He met her when she was three, when Jungkook finally invited him over for the first time. Before that, he’d only seen her in photos. Jimin has no siblings of his own, but taking care of Siwon feels natural. Maybe it was fate that brought them together, that made him feel this way about both of them. And he can’t deny it, he’s completely captivated by them.
Once Jungkook wraps up his appointment, they head home.
It still amazes Jimin how meticulous and organized Jungkook is, especially with a kid around. The moment they step through the door, he gets Siwon to shower, pulls out ingredients to prep dinner, does the laundry, and then starts cooking, leaving Jimin to dry Siwon’s hair when she’s done.
By the time Jimin’s showered and changed into one of Jungkook’s loose shirts, his boyfriend is already setting the table and calling Siwon over to eat together.
Everything is timed perfectly. After dinner, Jungkook gets Siwon to help with the dishes while Jimin wipes down the table and takes out the trash.
By 9PM, they’re all piled on the couch with Jungkook and Jimin cuddled together watching a drama while Siwon colours quietly from the colouring book her dad got her to fill her time.
“You’ve got thirty minutes left before bedtime, baby.”
Siwon snaps her head up to check the clock, then turns slowly to Jungkook. “No, I don’t. You always let me sleep at ten.”
“Well, I changed my mind today since you were such a brat this morning.”
And instantly, Siwon hops off the floor and launches herself onto Jimin’s lap, wrapping her tiny arms around his waist. “Then I wanna sleep with Jimin tonight.”
“Excuse me?!” Jungkook’s eyes widen. “Are you talking back to me now?”
“Oh God…” Jimin sighs, already bracing himself for their banter.
“Daddy can sleep here.” Siwon grins as she points to the couch, rubbing her cheek against Jimin’s stomach as she giggles.
“You have your own bed.” Jungkook says flatly. “So sleep in it.”
“No! I wanna sleep with Jimin!”
“Jimin’s sleeping with me.”
“No-o-o! With me!” Siwon scrambles higher onto Jimin’s lap, clinging to him with her arms tight around his neck.
“Pumpkin,” Jimin chuckles, trying to pry her off gently. “How about I read you a story, hm? We can lie down in your room and you choose a book.”
“Okay!” She takes off toward her room, only to stop halfway when Jungkook calls out again.
“Colour pencils. Book. Clean up first.”
She groans with her entire chest but trots back, stuffing the pencils into their holder and grabbing the book before darting off again.
Jungkook turns to Jimin, voice low and deadly serious. “Babe, no matter what, she’s not sleeping with us. I’ve had you to myself in that bed for a whole week, and I am not letting a five year old girl ruin that peace.”
The fact that he sounds this intense about his own daughter almost makes Jimin laugh. “That’s your kid you’re talking about.”
“I don’t care. I’ll make her sleep on the porch if it means I get you all to myself.”
“Jimin, let’s read this one!” Siwon comes back out, book in hand, already flipping through the pages.
“Get her to her room.” Jungkook whispers urgently, like they’re on a covert mission and the target is about to escape.
Jimin shoots him a weird look before standing and letting Siwon tug him along by the hand. He follows her down the hallway, only for her to veer sharply toward their bedroom instead.
“Jimin?” She looks up at him innocently.
Jimin pauses, then sends Jungkook a sheepish smile. From the couch, Jungkook groans, dragging his hands down his face like he had just lost the battle.
“Is she already sleeping?” Jungkook asks when he hears footsteps approaching.
About thirty minutes later, Jimin pads back out and wraps his arms around Jungkook from behind the couch, pressing a soft kiss to his neck as he sighs. “Yeah. She’s out. Can you put her back in her room?”
Jungkook gets up immediately, heads into their bedroom, and carefully lifts Siwon into his arms, careful not to wake her. He tucks her into her own bed gently before heading for the shower. When he comes back, Jimin’s already waiting for him under the covers.
“Babe…”
Jimin looks up from his phone when he feels the mattress dip, setting it aside as Jungkook crawls toward him from the foot of the bed. He cups Jungkook’s face and kisses him tenderly. Soft and fleeting. It’s moments like this that Jimin cherishes. Just the quietness of the night, the warmth of each other, the hushed whispers between the lips.
It’s peaceful, especially after a day like this. Siwon can be a handful, not that Jimin minds, but he still craves these pockets of time alone with his boyfriend.
Jimin’s clothes are peeled away piece by piece until he’s bare beneath the blankets. If Jungkook has one rule in bed, it’s staying under the sheets, clothed or not. He can’t trust his little girl not to wander in during the night, though Jungkook has taught her to knock and wait for a response outside. He doesn’t lock his doors just in case Siwon needs him urgently.
Jimin sighs as Jungkook kisses along his upper arms, going up to his shoulder where he gives a playful lick by his collarbones and then sucking a mark right above the dip. He scrunches Jungkook’s hair with both hands, his body shuddering with excitement at the soft caresses of Jungkook's lips against his skin. A breathy moan slips out when Jungkook mouths at his neck, Jimin arching slightly, instinctively chasing the pleasure pooling low in his stomach.
Jungkook pins his wrists together above his head with one firm hand before their lips crash together again with a little more hunger, a little more taste. Their tongues dance in tandem, breaking only for a second before finding each other all over again.
Jimin’s heart pounds under Jungkook’s grip, cheeks flushed pink as his hips roll up restlessly, searching for the friction he craves.
“Wanna do it?” Jimin breathes, barely louder than a whisper.
“Yeah, fuck. Let’s do it.” Jungkook smirks, slotting two fingers in his mouth to wet them before he rubs them on Jimin’s entrance. “I was initially tired. Wasn’t planning on doing anything.”
Jimin winces when he feels the fingers entering him before he lets out a breathy sigh, clinging onto Jungkook’s arm.
“But you smell so good, taste so good. And fuck, you look sexy underneath me.” Jungkook plunges his fingers deeper, earning a surprised gasp. “I’m not letting the night go to waste.”
“You’re hot today too.” Jimin bites his lip, eyes fluttering shut as he leans into the sensation. “The way you disciplined your kid—mmph!—you’re just…a really hot dad.”
“Barely did anything you haven’t seen, babe.” Jungkook rustles under the sheets, getting in position. “How you wanna take it tonight?”
Jimin turns around to lie on his stomach, grinning. “Fuck me like an animal. I’m pent up.”
Jungkook groans, feeling his cock throbbing with an ache. “Babe, you can’t say things like that and not expect me to fuck you like an animal.” He squeezes both hands on Jimin’s ass, spreading them apart only to see his hole fluttering.
He leans down above him, shifting his weight so he doesn’t crush the man he loves beneath him. “But you gotta keep your voice down. Walls are thin.”
Jimin accidentally slips out a loud moan when Jungkook slides inside him in one full thrust. The next few hours go by with soft gasps swallowed into pillows, whimpers chased away by hurried kisses and Jungkook constantly shushing him under his breath. At some point, Jungkook offers his arm for Jimin to bite on to silent his screams. Not that it did much when Jimin gasps and exhales, forgetting there’s a kid in the house. A kid that’s old enough to know what her dad is doing behind closed doors if she hears it.
They’re already covered in sweat and stickiness and Jimin is already on the verge of bursting while Jungkook continues to pound from behind. With one hand wrapped around Jimin’s cock, he releases at the same time as Jimin, catching his mess in the palm of his hand while he fills up his boyfriend.
“Sorry.” Jungkook catches his breath, leaning to kiss between Jimin’s shoulder blades. “Didn’t mean to cum inside you.”
Jungkook reaches for a tissue, wiping his hand before grabbing a couple more to clean Jimin up gently once he pulls out.
“That’s fine. I like it when you cum inside.” Jimin murmurs with a quiet giggle, watching him on his back.
“Naughty.” Jungkook mutters fondly, leaning down to press a brief kiss to his lips.
The knock comes suddenly, light and hesitant, followed by a small, sleepy voice on the other side of the door. “Daddy…?”
“Shit, you think she heard us?” Jimin whispers, immediately sinking deeper beneath the blankets, eyes wide.
Jungkook shakes his head, already moving. He tosses the tissues away, brings a finger to his lips for Jimin to stay quiet, then pads over to the door. He opens it to find Siwon standing there, hair sticking out in all directions, rubbing at her eyes.
“Yes, baby?” He asks softly.
“I wanna go pee. But I’m scared.” She looks at Jungkook with barely open eyes.
“Alright, come on.”
He guides her down the hallway, waiting outside the toilet until she’s done and then walks her back to her room where he kissed her goodnight. Jungkook returns back to Jimin, cuddling him under the covers and assuring him that Siwon hasn’t heard a thing.
“You know,” Jungkook mumbles as he hugs Jimin close, eyes already slipping shut, chin resting on top of his head. “It’s term break next week for Siwon. She’s gonna be all up in your space, unless you want me to bring her to work.” He yawns, arms tightening around Jimin. “But she’ll probably throw a fit. She likes you more.”
“We can take turns.” Jimin says softly. “Maybe go out one of these days. All three of us.”
“Mmm.” Jungkook smiles against his hair. “Look at you. Already talking about taking turns with my kid, and planning a family date.” He hums, teasing. “Why don’t we just get married, hm?”
Jimin freezes.
His cheeks burn as he pulls back slightly, staring at him. “Do you just…say things like that?” He lets out a nervous laugh. “Oh my god.”
“What?” Jungkook opens one eye. “You thought it wasn’t gonna happen?”
“It could happen?” Jimin blinks, suddenly wide awake. It’s late and he’s tired, and yet his heart is racing like he needs confirmation he’s not hallucinating all of this.
“Of course.” Jungkook says easily. “One day. I’m not dating you for fun.”
Jimin laughs under his breath, still a little stunned. His boyfriend just casually dropped marriage into the conversation like they were talking about groceries, right after sex, in the middle of the night.
“Jeon Jungkook—”
“Babe, babe.” Jungkook cups his face and peppers his lips with soft kisses, cutting him off. “I’m stopping you right there, okay? You can freak out about it tomorrow. Right now, we need to sleep. I’ve got Siwon’s tantrums to deal with in the morning.”
Jimin smiles to himself, warmth blooming in his chest. Giddy, almost. Jungkook isn’t just keeping him around for comfort or convenience—he actually sees a future with him. It’s endearing, the way Jungkook wears his heart so openly. Most single parents don’t even want to think about dating again, let alone marriage. But Jungkook never lets fear or circumstances get in the way of how he feels. It kinda makes Jimin proud of him after everything he’s been through.
“Siwon, baby, let’s go! We’re gonna be late.” Jungkook walks down the hallway for the second time, peeking into Siwon’s bedroom and finding it empty again. The little rascal is clearly playing an involuntary game of hide-and-seek to avoid school. “Where the hell did you go?” He mutters under his breath.
That’s when he notices his bedroom door slightly ajar. He distinctly remembers closing it when he stepped out earlier. Jimin’s still asleep, after all. Jungkook pauses, then quietly pushes the door open just enough to peek inside. The blanket on the bed is moving. Shaking ever so slightly, like someone’s trying very hard to suppress giggles underneath it.
“This freaking brat.” He sighs quietly.
He steps inside and stands by the side of the bed, admiring Jimin’s cute sleeping face just for a second before his eyes shift, narrowing as he spots a small lump tucked snugly under the covers, right between Jimin’s arms. His boyfriend's too deep in his sleep to notice that someone has crawled in beside him, clinging on like she belongs there.
“Baby, come on. Jimin’s sleeping, let’s not disturb him.”
Siwon sticks out her tongue in protest and snuggles closer against Jimin’s chest. His boyfriend groans awake from the little movements in bed and hearing tiny giggles besides him. That can only mean one thing—Siwon.
“Hmm, why are you here in bed, pumpkin?” Jimin murmurs sleepily without opening his eyes, hugging her tighter as he stretches under the blankets.
“Because you’re sleeping.”
“I’m sleeping because—” Jimin turns over, finally catching sight of the standing figure beside the bed. Jungkook just gives him a tired, unimpressed smile. “Because my alarm hasn’t gone off yet, and there’s an angry Daddy in the room. So what do you think you’re supposed to do?”
“But I want Jimin.” Siwon whines, her face drooping when she realizes Jimin’s asking her to get out of bed.
“Baby, did you forget what we talked about?” Jungkook says gently. “Jimin’s gonna be here when you come home. You don’t have to worry.”
Siwon fidgets with Jimin’s shirt, clearly unwilling to let go.
“I’ll be right here waiting for you, pumpkin. Also…” Jimin smiles, twirling her little ponytail that’s neatly tied with the pink hairband Jungkook helped with earlier. “You’ve got school break next week. I was thinking we could go out one of the days. If you behave…maybe we’ll go to the aquarium?”
Siwon gasps and sits upright immediately. “Daddy never brings me there!”
Jungkook clicks his tongue, feigning offense. “Yeah, and why do you think, bratty pants?”
Jimin smiles softly at the remark, completely endeared by his hot, catty-dad boyfriend. “Then it’ll be our first date together. So go to school.” He says firmly.
“Fine-e-e.” Siwon groans as she scoots off the bed on her butt. Once she’s up, she grabs Jungkook’s hand. “Daddy, I wanna see the jellyfish!”
“Yeah, yeah. Go get your bag and wait for me outside.”
Siwon giggles happily and rushes off to get ready. Jungkook turns back to Jimin and kneels beside the bed, looking at him with so much fondness it almost hurts.
“What?” Jimin asks.
“You love me. Like, a lot.” Jungkook smirks. “Taking us on an aquarium date, trying to score brownie points so I’ll marry you faster?”
“Jeez, you’re so shameless. And it’s only just—” Jimin fumbles under the pillow for his phone and checks the time. “7:10AM. It’s way too early for this.”
Jungkook takes his hand and presses a kiss to every knuckle lovingly. “Just say the word, babe. Tomorrow? Two weeks from now? Next month? I’ll make it happen.”
Jimin pulls his hand back and rolls his eyes. “The only thing happening right now is you sending your daughter to school. Go, you’re gonna be late.”
Jungkook ignores him. He sits on the edge of the bed instead, gazing at Jimin in all his messy, half-awake glory. He cups Jimin’s face with both hands and leans down to kiss him softly, unhurried and warm.
“I mean it.” Jungkook murmurs when he pulls back, eyes searching Jimin’s chocolate-brown ones.
It’s so… sexy of Jungkook to know exactly what he wants. To openly declare his love like that, like he sees Jimin as this rare gem he needs to keep and protect. Neither of them is rushing anything, they’re happy where they are right now, but something about Jungkook already being so sure of his choice sends butterflies straight to Jimin’s stomach. And honestly, it’s kinda making him throb in his lower region.
If only Jungkook didn’t have somewhere to be right now.
“Daddy, I’m ready!” Siwon yells from the living room, loud enough to immediately kill Jimin’s rising boner and snap him back to reality.
“Coming, baby!” Jungkook answers her first before turning his attention back to Jimin. “Dad duty calls. I’m gonna head out now. I love you.” He presses a quick peck to Jimin’s cheek and stands.
“Love you more.”
Jungkook pauses at the door, hand on the knob. A playful glint flashes in his eyes before he leaves. “Love you the most.”
Siwon has been talking about jellyfish and sharks all weekend, like she’s already seen the real thing even before Jimin booked the aquarium tickets. She’s ridiculously excited to meet her “ocean friends” as she calls them. While Jungkook has mostly tuned her out by now, Jimin entertains her enthusiasm, tossing in little fun facts about the sea creatures she keeps bringing up.
Siwon has a huge soft spot for animals. She’d keep every pet imaginable if her dad allowed it. Once, Jungkook had to go out of his way to hunt for caterpillars in the park with her just because her science class was learning about the butterfly life cycle. She insisted on keeping one as a pet, completely fascinated by the idea that they’d turn into flying things with beautiful wings, though she was even more excited about releasing them once they hatched.
Sometimes, when they go for walks, Siwon will happily crouch down to pet a stranger’s dog for a solid five minutes if she spots one. The bigger the dog, the harder it is to drag her away. Every time, she whines about wanting one of her own, and every time, Jungkook shuts it down.
“Jimin, I wanna see this shark! It’s called a hammerhead.” Siwon rolls onto her back, sprawled across the floor as she lifts Jimin’s phone and scrolls through the aquarium website. “It looks silly.” She giggles.
“I’m sure we’ll see it.” Jimin notes. “Five more minutes with my phone, pumpkin.”
“You spoil her too much.” Jungkook scoots closer on the couch, draping an arm over Jimin’s shoulder and kissing it. “You know you don’t have to, right? She’s not yours, just in case you forgot.” He teases.
Jimin laughs, fond of how unserious Jungkook can be sometimes. “Should I spoil you instead, hm?”
“Oh yeah. Please do. Anytime. In any way you want.”
“Really?” Jimin whispers, arching a brow as he licks his lips, gaze locking onto Jungkook’s with clear intent.
“Mhm—”
“Daddy!” Siwon suddenly pops up by his legs, smacking her tiny hand against Jungkook’s thigh with all her might. “I wanna watch the animals!”
Jungkook doesn’t even break eye contact with the celestial beauty sitting beside him. “The remote’s right there, baby.”
Siwon waddles over to the TV console and grabs it.
“You won’t even look at her, huh?” Jimin muffles his laughter behind his hand.
“I’m a little distracted right now—”
“Daddy, what’s the channel? I don’t know.” Siwon climbs right up onto his lap and shoves the remote in his face. “Stop staring at Jimin!”
As if determined to break whatever invisible tension is brewing, Siwon wedges herself right between the two of them, wriggling until Jimin has no choice but to shift aside to make space.
“137.” Jungkook says. “Remember it, okay?”
But he’s clearly not interested in putting any distance between himself and his boyfriend. Instead, he hoists Siwon fully onto his lap and scoots closer to Jimin anyway. His daughter doesn’t complain once the pandas come on the TV. She squeals at their cuteness, pointing excitedly at the screen even though all the pandas are doing is sitting around and munching on bamboo.
Jungkook pouts at Jimin, leaning in and silently asking for a kiss. Jimin’s cheeks are already dusted pink, but he’d be a fool not to give in, especially when Jungkook looks this unfairly attractive. His hair is down, soft and bouncy, making him look younger somehow. The piercings on his face catch the light just right, drawing attention to his stupidly handsome features, and that little pout? Criminally cute.
Jimin leans in and presses a quick peck to Jungkook’s lips.
Immediately, Siwon snaps her head around, eyes narrowing as she checks to make sure her adults aren’t up to no good while she’s distracted.
The day has finally come for Siwon to meet her ocean friends at the aquarium and she makes sure her dad knows exactly how excited she is by snatching every plushie off the shelves in the gift shop before they’ve even stepped inside the exhibit. Jungkook can’t bring himself to say no, not when she’s wearing the happiest expression, flashing the biggest smile as she hugs sharks, stingrays, and starfish to her chest while happily waltzing down the aisle.
Jimin giggles from behind, quietly taking a video on his phone. He captures Jungkook struggling under the weight of a basket filled with everything Siwon touches until at some point, Jungkook starts grumbling and discreetly putting things back when his daughter isn’t looking.
“I saw that.” Jimin says smugly from behind the camera when Jungkook slides a water bottle decorated with tiny crab and seashell stickers back onto the shelf.
Jungkook turns around, and he can’t help but laugh when he realizes Jimin has been recording him the entire time, catching him red-handed while Siwon remains blissfully unaware a few steps ahead.
“Babe, come on.” Jungkook mutters, lowering his voice. “The prices are ridiculous. Everything here is ridiculous.”
He grabs a random water bottle and holds it up for Jimin to see the tag. “Look at this. $30 for a bottle? Rip-off.” Then he fishes a small whale keychain out of the basket. “And this? It’s $22. Babe. Twenty-two. And it’s the size of my palm! Why is it so expensive? Does it make whale sounds? Does it talk? Jeez.”
It’s painfully cute watching Jungkook get frustrated. So, so adorable that it has Jimin grinning the whole time.
“Well, she’s lucky she has a rich dad.” Jimin shrugs innocently, still filming.
Jungkook lets out a groan and rolls his eyes before heading over to Siwon when she calls for him. They haven’t even left the gift shop yet, and somehow Jungkook already feels drained—both physically and financially.
After what feels like an eternity, they’re finally inside the aquarium. It’s crowded with families and their kids, all excited and eager to learn about marine life, just like Siwon. The very first place she bolts toward is the queue for the petting zone. A cluster of starfish lounges lazily on rocks inside a shallow tank, and his girl—brave as ever—announces that she wants to touch one.
Jungkook waits off to the side with Jimin, letting the kids line up and take turns while he flips through the brochure, skimming through the list of exhibits. Meanwhile, Jimin can’t resist snapping photos when Siwon squeals in delight, laughing as she gingerly pokes at the leathery texture of the starfish.
“You know…” Jungkook murmurs, stepping in close behind him. He rests his chin against Jimin’s shoulder, one hand settling comfortably on his hip. “This feels like a date. Just the two of us.”
Jimin keeps his phone raised, focused on framing another shot, pointedly ignoring how clingy Jungkook is being. “It is a date. We just happen to have a kid with us.”
Jungkook hums thoughtfully. “Yeah…should we ditch her?”
Jimin scoffs, shaking his head with a fond smile even as he leans back just slightly into Jungkook’s chest.
“Daddy, I touched it!” Siwon comes running back toward them, fingers hooked around the straps of her backpack. “It’s so tough and bumpy. But they’re so cute, Daddy! And they have so many colours!”
“They’re pretty, aren’t they? You’re so brave for touching one, baby.”
“Jimin, do you wanna touch one? It’s not scary at all!” Siwon turns to him next, tugging eagerly at his hand.
“Ah, that’s okay, pumpkin.” Jimin chuckles, shaking his head. “I’m not as brave as you. But I did take some really cute photos of you just now.”
“I wanna see them later!” She grins before swiveling back to Jungkook. “Daddy, I want the—” Siwon starts rummaging through the gift shop paper bag Jungkook’s holding, pulling out her starfish and shark plushies to hug. “I wanna see the sharks over there!”
She scampers ahead toward the massive viewing panel at the center of the exhibit that’s nearly eight metres tall and stretching over thirty-five metres wide, its glass wall revealing a sprawling underwater world of coral reefs and shimmering schools of fish. It’s kinda romantic actually, with the dim lighting and the mood, not forgetting the soft instrumental music that hums through the space.
Children crowd around the glass, pressing their palms against it as they stare in awe at the marine life drifting past. Siwon gasps when she spots a baby shark gliding in the distance, bouncing on the tips of her toes in quick little tippy-taps like a dog about to be taken for a walk. Her eyes go wide, mouth hanging open in pure wonder until she finally remembers to swallow when her throat starts to feel dry.
“Wow, it’s really pretty. I totally underestimated this place.” Jimin giggles, snapping as many photos as he can. “I thought it was gonna be lame.”
“If it’s lame and costs this much, I’m leaving a bad review.”
Jungkook sticks close, sliding a hand into Jimin’s back pocket without a second thought. He doesn’t care about the attention it draws and neither does Jimin. It’s pretty normal for them.
They settle onto one of the benches in the open area, watching Siwon dart past every so often as she follows a baby shark from one end of the glass to the other. She presses her shark plushie against the panel, like she’s trying to prove they’re the same, and occasionally mutters under her breath as if she’s having a full conversation with the fish.
“I’m glad I picked the aquarium.” Jimin stretches his legs out, crossing one over the other as he watches her fondly. “She’s really happy.”
“She’d be happy with anything you choose, as long as you’re there.” Jungkook pulls out his phone and snaps a quick photo of Siwon grinning behind her shark plushie, already sending it to her favourite Uncle Yoongi. “I still can’t believe you wanna date me.”
Jimin tilts his head, brows knitting together at the sudden turn.
“Most people get turned off at the idea of dating someone with a kid.” Jungkook continues with a soft chuckle. “But not you. You welcomed it like it was never a problem.”
Jimin stares at him for a second. “Is the aquarium making you sentimental all of a sudden?” He laughs, then reaches for Jungkook’s hand, lacing their fingers together. “You could have twins and I still wouldn’t mind. I just know a good person when I see one.”
Jungkook’s smile softens. He lifts Jimin’s chin gently and presses a quick peck to his lips. “And I’m really glad Siwon likes you.”
“Well you have a competition now.”
“Oh, do I?”
They tease each other, Jimin’s giggles echoing through the hall until it reaches Siwon. She turns around just in time to see her dad pretending to bite Jimin’s arm, only to get smacked on the shoulder for it. Jungkook immediately bends down to kiss over his skin in apology as his boyfriend puts on a dramatic pout. They kiss after once and then twice, before resting their foreheads together.
It’s only when they glance over that they seem to remember Siwon’s existence. Caught, Siwon quickly averts her gaze and scurries off toward the underwater tunnel where the sharks are.
The adults hurry after her, stepping into a new zone and finding themselves fully immersed beneath the glass tunnel, sharks gliding smoothly overhead. Jimin’s eyes light up as he instantly recognizes the different species swimming above them—the zebra sharks, whitetip reef sharks, tiger sharks, and the one Siwon’s been waiting for all day.
“Pumpkin, look!” Jimin rushes over and kneels beside her, pointing up at the wide-headed silhouette passing above them. “That’s the hammerhead shark. It does look silly, doesn’t it?”
Siwon gasps, eyes wide as she watches the massive fish glide overhead. It’s like watching a plane fly through the sky except this is ten times better and ten times closer. And in Siwon’s book, planes are loud but sharks are cute.
“Hm, so silly! Look at their eyes!” She giggles, covering her mouth. “Jimin, what’s your favourite shark?”
“I like…that one.” Jimin points upward. “The zebra shark. It looks so cool and fierce with the stripes.”
Siwon nods seriously with a hum. “That’s a fat one.”
Jimin laughs. “Don’t let the sharks hear you, or it might eat you up!” He tickles her sides until she’s squealing, laughing hard as and wriggles free from his arms, running a distance away.
Just as Jimin straightens up to catch her, Jungkook cages him from behind, arms wrapping around his torso as he presses a trail of kisses down the side of his neck. They’re completely oblivious to the people around them as some are openly staring at two fully grown adults shamelessly indulging in public affection.
Siwon pauses a few steps away, watching her dad hold Jimin like he belongs there, the two of them giggling softly together. At one point, she hears Jungkook mutter, I’m gonna eat you! before he leans in to bite down on Jimin’s shoulder, earning a loud protest after.
They sway side to side as Jungkook walks them closer to the glass panel, their heads bent together as they talk quietly about the sharks gliding past their view.
Somehow, standing there with her plushie clutched to her chest, Siwon feels a small pang in her heart.
They walk through the jellyfish exhibit after that, something Siwon has been looking forward to as well. She finds it amazing how the creatures float like little blobs of jelly, delicate and beautiful yet deadly to the touch. The tanks glow softly with all kinds of species, big and small, drifting lazily through the water.
Unfortunately, it still isn’t enough to hold Siwon’s attention.
Instead of staring at her ocean friends, she keeps glancing at her dad and Jimin walking behind her with hands clasped together. Jungkook occasionally lifts their joined hands to press a kiss to Jimin’s knuckles, smiling to himself while Jimin shares jellyfish facts with him.
“What’s wrong, baby?”
Jungkook soon realizes his daughter has been staring at him instead of the jellyfish. But Siwon says nothing. She just tightens her arms around her plushies, shoots him a glare and rolls her eyes before turning on her heel and walking away.
“Wha—Babe, did you see that?” Jungkook scoffs, stopping in his tracks. “She just rolled her eyes at me. Me. Her dad.”
Jimin snorts. “She’s pretty sassy, huh. Guess she got that from you.”
“Are you on her side or mine?” Jungkook huffs, giving Jimin’s ass a playful tap and squeeze. “Maybe she’s hungry. Kids get cranky when they don’t eat.”
“True. She’s been walking around all morning and hasn’t even asked for a snack yet.” Jimin glances in Siwon’s direction. “Should we sit down and eat?”
“Hm, yeah. I saw a little restaurant outside.” Jungkook nods, already turning. “Mind saving us a seat while I go fish my princess out of the exhibit?”
Jimin laughs at the terrible aquarium-themed joke. “Yeah, okay. Bring back a big catch.”
“Siwon, baby.” Jungkook finally catches sight of his daughter standing on her tippy toes, peering at a small panel filled with tiny crabs.
She’d bolted the moment she spotted him earlier, weaving through the crowd like it was a game. Jungkook had nearly bumped into a few strangers just to keep her in sight. The princess has her moods sometimes, but today, he genuinely can’t figure out what went wrong when the day had started off so perfectly.
“Can’t see the crabs, huh?” Jungkook lifts her up easily. “There we go. Now you can see all the cute crabs. Uncle Yoongi hates these things.”
Siwon stays quiet.
“Why?” She finally asks.
“They pinch like a bi—” Jungkook stops himself just in time. “They pinch. It hurts a lot.”
She goes silent again, eyes fixed on the tank but she keeps fidgeting with her plushies, squeezing them a little too tight. What catches Jungkook off guard is that she doesn’t once ask where Jimin is when it’s something she usually does the moment he’s out of sight.
“Baby.” Jungkook softens, shifting her in his arms. “What’s wrong, hm? Are you sad? Hungry?”
Siwon turns to him with a pout that makes his chest ache. Her voice comes out small. “How come you don’t love me anymore?”
Jungkook’s heart drops. “What?” His eyes widen instantly. “Baby, what do you mean? Of course I love you. I love you so much. Why would you think that?”
“You keep playing with Jimin.” She says, smacking her shark plushie angrily, refusing to look at him.
“Okay, first of all, so do you—”
“No!” She cuts in, brows furrowed. “When we come here! You’re always with him. You don’t love me anymore. You hug him, you kiss him.” She glares up at him, voice cracking just a little. “You never do that with me.”
Jungkook’s expression melts instantly.
“Oh…baby.” He cups her cheek gently, thumb brushing away at nothing. “Is my little girl feeling jealous, hm?” He presses a soft kiss to her round cheek. “You’ll always be my number one, sweetie. Always. Just because Daddy loves Jimin doesn’t mean I love you any less.”
Jungkook kisses her cheek again until he catches that tiny, betraying smile trying to sneak onto her lips. “I’m sorry you felt that way. So how about this? Daddy’ll hold your hand and give you all the kisses for now.”
Siwon finally breaks into a smile. “No, you can still kiss Jimin.” She says seriously, then presses the tip of her shark plushie against Jungkook’s cheek a few times before her grin gets wider. “But I get more kisses.”
Jungkook laughs quietly, heart full as she wraps her arms around his neck and settles against him feeling warm and secure once more in his attention.
Jimin’s about to call for Jungkook when he finally spots him from afar, carrying Siwon on his front like the spoiled little princess she is, hugging him tight like a koala, chin resting comfortably on his shoulder. Jimin waves from the table he’s saved for them, catching their attention.
“Is she already tired?” Jimin asks when Jungkook sits down opposite him.
“Worse.” Jungkook shakes his head dramatically, eyes closing as if bracing himself. “She’s jealous.”
Siwon immediately whines from his hold, arms tightening around his neck as she squirms in embarrassment at having her feelings exposed.
“Huh?” Jimin blinks.
“Babe, I need to say this.” Jungkook clears his throat, very obviously putting on a performance as he straightens himself a little. “Just so there’s no misunderstanding. I’m sorry to say, but I’ll be giving Siwon more kisses today.”
Siwon peeks at Jimin from Jungkook’s shoulder.
“Because she’s my number one babe.” Jungkook continues seriously before smirking and pressing a kiss to her temple. “And she deserves all the hugs and kisses more than anyone. Right, Siwon?”
Siwon nods, satisfied.
Jimin raises an eyebrow, lips parting as he tries to process what exactly he missed at the aquarium. “Oh?”
“So, I’ll be sitting with Siwon for lunch instead of with you.” Jungkook concludes, shifting Siwon comfortably on his lap.
Jimin exhales a soft laugh under his breath. “You know what? I’ve been selfish, haven’t I, pumpkin?” He reaches out gently to touch her back, smiling at her as she rests against her father’s chest. “Taking all of Daddy’s kisses and not leaving any for you. Daddy’s all yours today.”
Siwon’s lips twitch before she breaks into a tiny giggle, clearly pleased. She nuzzles into Jungkook’s neck, arms tightening around him, perfectly content with the outcome even if she knows Jimin’s just playing along.
“Don’t be sad anymore, okay? I’m always gonna love you.” Jungkook murmurs, pressing a kiss to her forehead as his fingers toy with her ponytail. “Now Daddy needs to buy food to feed the both of you.”
He settles her down on the seat, placing the gift shop paper bag beside her before standing up. “Anything’s fine for you?” He asks Jimin, already glancing toward the menu board.
“Yeah. I’m not picky.”
Out of habit, Jungkook leans down to kiss him only to pause halfway, remembering his promise. He turns instead, peppering Siwon’s cheeks with quick kisses until she bubbles into laughter before he turns to Jimin to steal a firm, quick kiss from his lips anyway before walking off like it’s nothing.
An affectionate smile lingers on Jimin’s lips as he watches Jungkook join the queue. Even now, he can’t quite believe he landed someone like him. Sure, not everyone would enjoy dating a dad or dating someone with a kid, but Jungkook makes the entire experience fun and effortless from the very start.
He knows how to make Jimin feel appreciated. Knows how to love him properly. He says the right words with genuine sincerity instead of those good-for-nothing, empty fuckboy lines. And most importantly, he never makes Jimin feel left out or turns him into a stand-in nanny like some shameless people do.
Ugh, shudders.
And honestly? Jungkook doesn’t even look like he has a kid. A daughter, no less. Not when he’s dressed in fancy jackets or ripped jeans, chains hanging off his pants, baggy fits that show off his sleeve tattoos. Add in the piercings—God. He’s actually a hot dad. Jimin smiles to himself at the thought.
He’s dating a hot dad.
He really hit the lottery. Jungkook is endlessly sweet with him, constantly making him blush and swoon every time he opens his mouth. Jimin is never left pouting or sulking for long because Jungkook always finds a way to melt his heart all over again.
“Jimin, do you wanna see my stingray?” Siwon giggles as she excitedly rummages through the gift shop bag until she pulls out a dark blue plushie with a long tail and soft white fur underneath.
“Yeah, sure, pumpkin. Let me see.” Jimin smiles, stretching his arms across the table to reach her, though his gaze stays fixed on Jungkook standing in the queue.
Even Jungkook doing absolutely nothing looks good. One hand holding his wallet, the other tucked casually into his pocket. His back alone is unfairly attractive. Anyone with eyes could tell he’s gorgeous.
“Look, Jimin! The stingray’s tail!” Siwon hands the plushie over while grabbing onto the tail, swishing it side to side.
“Did you know?” Jimin says distractedly, turning the toy in his hands. “A stingray’s tail can be deadly. It can pierce right through your skin if they feel threatened.”
Siwon makes an ‘ooh’ sound as she widens her eyes, fully captivated by that single information. “That’s so cool! And scary! But they look so pretty to be so dangerous—”
Jimin stops listening.
Because Jungkook is talking to a woman.
He only looks away for one second and suddenly his boyfriend is chatting with some rando in the queue. Jimin scoffs softly, irritation bubbling up in his chest. Why the hell do they look so friendly? Why is she standing so close? Jungkook clearly doesn’t look interested. He’s polite, sure, smiling the way he always does. But it’s the kind that never reaches his eyes. What isn’t okay is the woman touching his arm, fingers brushing over his bicep in a way that’s far too familiar.
Ew, no.
Jimin pouts, glaring in Jungkook’s direction.
Why isn’t he backing away? Who the hell is she? Why are they still talking?
“Jimin?”
The tiny voice snaps him back to reality. He looks down to find Siwon tilting her head in confusion, her eyes flicking to the poor stingray plushie Jimin has unknowingly squeezed half to death in his jealous grip.
“Oh my god, I’m sorry about your stingray, pumpkin.” Jimin loosens his hold and smiles apologetically. “What were you saying earlier, hm?”
Siwon raises a brow, clearly unimpressed that he hadn’t been listening. “I said I wanna swim with the stingrays one day. But just from afar. You think I can convince Daddy to let me do it?”
“Oh. Yeah, sure. Speaking of Daddy—” Jimin glances over again, only to find Jungkook standing alone now. Jungkook looks back at him just as Jimin turns away with a huff.
He might’ve rolled his eyes too and Jungkook might’ve caught that.
“—he’s taking too long, isn’t he?” Jimin leans back in his seat, arms folded as he stares off with a deep frown. “Aren’t you starving already? Ugh, he’s so slow.”
Siwon watches him carefully—the pout, the crossed arms, the turned-away head, and copies him perfectly.
She leans back too, brows scrunching together, tiny arms folded in protest as she blows out a dramatic huff, sending her bangs fluttering. “Yeah! Daddy’s being slow on purpose. I’m hungry!”
Five minutes later, Jungkook returns to the table with a tray in hand—kids’ pasta, nuggets, and a small juice box for Siwon, and fish and chips for the adults. Instead of happy smiles or excited little hands reaching for the food, he’s met with his two most precious people stubbornly refusing to look at him. Both of them face the window with the exact same posture. Siwon sneaks a glance at Jimin and seeing that he’s still stubbornly turned away, she peeks at her dad and lets out an annoyed huff of her own.
“Okay, now.” Jungkook plants his hands on his hips, eyes flicking between the both of them. “Why are both my babies upset?”
“Jimin says you’re too slow, and I agree!” Siwon blurts out, throwing a tiny pretend tantrum. “You’re purposely making us wait longer! You’re starving us!”
“What..?”
“So you like chatting people up in the middle of a queue?” Jimin hisses, though he looks far too cute to be intimidating.
Before Jungkook can even answer, Siwon pipes up from the side with a tiny, indignant, “Yeah, do you?”. He shoots her a warning look but it only makes her snicker harder.
“Babe, I know what you saw.” Jungkook slides into the seat beside him, one arm draping easily around Jimin’s shoulders while the other settles on his thigh, thumb stroking soothing circles.
“Why are you sitting with Jimin?” Siwon makes a frustrated sound, her frown so deep it’s painfully obvious she’s not pretending this time.
“Baby, please.” Jungkook raises a finger gently, already pulling his phone out and handing it to her. “Give me five minutes.”
“Ooh, yay!”
Once his daughter is sufficiently distracted, Jungkook turns back fully to his boyfriend. “Jimin, babe. Look at me, please. It’s not what you think.” He cups Jimin’s cheeks, guiding his face around until their eyes meet.
“That’s my ex-wife.”
Oh.
Jimin has never seen what she looks like before. Jungkook never talks about her, and the only thing Jimin knows is that they divorced when Siwon was two and Jungkook has been raising her on his own ever since. There are no photos of them together around the house. Not even pictures of just Jungkook and her in his phone gallery. Most of it is filled with Siwon’s photos or tattoo references. And now, Jimin’s there too.
“I have nothing going on with Mirae anymore, okay?” Jungkook says softly, rubbing his thumb along Jimin’s cheek. “She just happened to be here today. We exchanged greetings. She said she misses Siwon.” He rolls his eyes. “Siwon and I both know that’s not true.”
“Well.” Jimin lifts his chin, still refusing to give in so easily as he takes a sip of his drink. “She was a little too friendly with you.”
Jungkook groans and drops his forehead against Jimin’s shoulder. “I know. That’s just Mirae being…weird. We ended things on mutual terms, no fights or anything like that but I feel like something’s off with her.” He reaches for Jimin’s hand, pressing a kiss to the back of it. “Either way, she’s not my concern anymore.”
“Daddy, look at this fishie!” Siwon’s already laughing as she calls for her dad, shoving her phone forward to show a video of a fish swimming straight up to the camera, its expression oddly curious.
Jungkook smiles gently. He’s proud to have raised her all on his own, even without a mother, and she still turned out happy as a duck. “It looks like you.” He teases with a smirk.
Siwon’s smile drops instantly, replaced with a deep scowl.
“We good, babe?” Jungkook asks, giving Jimin’s hand a final squeeze before letting go.
“Yeah, it’s fine.” Jimin says with a small smile. “We’re fine.” He leans in and presses a soft peck to Jungkook’s lips.
Everything’s fine for the next few hours at least.
They had a great meal, had some desserts and Siwon is having a great time with her dad. So is Jimin. They head to a park to relax and soak up some sun. There’s a small pond with fish and ducks, and Siwon’s immediately glued to it, sitting near the edge and watching them with complete focus while the adults take a break on a bench.
Lunch had gone smoothly, almost too smoothly until Jungkook’s phone lights up while Jimin’s lazily scrolling through his photo gallery.
An unknown number.
hey jungkook♡
Yeah. No.
Jungkook doesn’t even notice the notification. He’s got an arm slung around Jimin’s shoulders, pressing little kisses to his cheek without thinking, eyes never leaving Siwon as she watches the pond like it’s the most important thing in the world.
“You got a message.” Jimin says, already handing the phone over, his mood dipping instantly.
“Just ignore it.” Jungkook murmurs, fingers tipping Jimin’s chin up as he leans in for a kiss.
“Mmph—” Jimin pulls back, giving him a stern look. “I don’t think I can.” He presses the edge of the phone to Jungkook’s chest, lips puffed out in an unmistakable pout.
The moment Jungkook recognizes the number, he groans.
He’d deleted Mirae’s contact the second their divorce was finalized. It’s just his way of closing that chapter for good. She’d texted a few times after that, logistics stuff. Picking up her things. Paperwork. Nothing personal. Still, after years of seeing it pop up, he knows that number by heart.
Seeing it now feels like a bad joke.
Jungkook leans back against the bench, phone held low as he reads the message, his face going serious in a way Jimin doesn’t like. A second later, he lets out a long sigh, clicking his tongue in irritation.
“What does she want?” Jimin asks, trying to sound casual. He hates that he wants to know.
Jungkook looks at him for a moment. “She wants to piss me off.”
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t get mad.” Jungkook says quickly, already bracing himself. “But she wants to meet Siwon. Says she wants to…try being a mum now.”
Jimin’s response is instant. “You’re kidding me.” He scoffs, disbelief written all over his face. “After all these years? Now she suddenly realizes what she’s been missing?”
Jungkook smirks before leaning in, his lips brushing Jimin’s ear as he murmurs. “I love it when you care. You sound so hot.”
Jimin scoffs, rolling his eyes even as heat creeps up his cheeks. He turns his face away, trying to hide it. “Seriously, Jungkook. What are you gonna do about it?”
“I don’t know.” He shrugs, because really, he doesn’t. “I can’t exactly stop her. She’s still Siwon’s mum. It’s not like there’s a restraining order or anything.” Jungkook blows out a long exhale. “I just think it’s weird. That’s all.”
In the distance, Siwon jogs back toward them, grinning ear to ear. “Daddy! Can I have money? The old man over there sells duck food!”
Both Jimin and Jungkook follow her pointing finger. Sure enough, there’s a man by a small cart that’s selling tiny packets of feed for a dollar.
“Okay, just one packet, baby.” Jungkook hands her the money easily. Siwon immediately takes off, practically sprinting toward the cart.
“So,” Jimin says quietly once she’s out of earshot, eyes flicking back to Jungkook. “You’re really gonna let them meet?”
“Would you kill me if I said yes?”
“Well, you’re her dad.” Jimin mumbles, voice so quiet Jungkook almost misses it if he isn’t paying close attention. “You decide what’s best for her.”
Siwon comes trotting back, a little out of breath as she hands the packet to her dad. “Daddy, I can’t open it.”
Jungkook tears off a small corner and pours some of the feed into her tiny palms. Siwon practically vibrates with excitement, her whole body wiggling at the thought of feeding the ducks.
“Okay.” Jungkook chuckles. “Go feed them.”
Siwon brings her hands up to her nose for a quick sniff before suddenly thrusting them toward Jungkook’s face. “Daddy, you eat it!” She giggles, delighted with herself.
“Tsk.” Jungkook recoils with a mock scowl. “What’s wrong with you, huh? Go. Go feed your ducks. Shoo.”
Siwon laughs to herself and runs back to the pond, dropping to her knees by the edge and lowering her hands as the ducks paddle closer.
“Careful, baby!” Jungkook calls after her like the attentive dad he is.
He watches her for a moment before speaking again. “You know…maybe they should meet. So she can see what kind of person Siwon is.”
“You mean the kind to feed her parents duck food?”
“Yeah, exactly. You get my point.” Jungkook smirks. Because if there’s anything that will repel his ex wife from him, it’s Siwon.
The week of rest flies by for Siwon. Every day is a perfect loop of television marathons, endless snacking, playground trips, and most importantly clinging to Jimin like he’s her personal comfort blanket every night. Whatever jealousy she’d felt at the aquarium is long gone and Jungkook, on the other hand, has never felt more cold and unloved in his own home. Movie nights are the worst. Siwon wedges herself firmly against Jimin’s side, hugging his arm like it’s hers by right, while Jungkook has to fight her for control of the popcorn bowl.
And because she insists on sitting between her two favourite people, she never lets Jungkook sit next to Jimin. She’d argue seriously saying that Daddy belongs beside her. Jungkook can’t even finish a proper sentence with his boyfriend without being interrupted halfway, let alone touch him.
So he does the only thing he can. He sends Jimin spicy texts.
“getting cockblocked by my own daughter jeez. im getting my cock in you later”
“she can hold your arm now, but i’m grabbing that ass in bed”
“when is this movie gonna be over? i wanna have you underneath me now”
Silly, spicy texts that never fail to get Jimin’s head turning toward him. Either he’s blushing or biting his lip, and honestly, that’s the only way Jungkook can steal his attention when it isn’t Siwon yapping into his ear at every damn scene of the movie.
As much as it’s a relief and also a total bummer that school is starting again for Siwon, Jungkook can’t shake the knot in his chest at the thought of her being picked up by Mirae. Her mum had texted him one afternoon, saying she wanted to take Siwon out for a short date after school. And really, what kind of person would Jungkook be if he said no?
So he gives her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she’s trying. Maybe she really wants to be a responsible parent now, despite all the million doubts lingering at the back of his mind.
Let’s be real. This is the same woman who walked out of their marriage because she didn’t want a child.
Jungkook had spent hours talking to Siwon about her mum or more accurately, convincing her that she had one in the first place. That part sits heavy with him because he knows he’s at fault too. He’s the one who raised his daughter believing she never had a mother. But when someone is never there, never shows up, never tries… maybe forgetting them feels easier.
“Okay, remember what I told you last night?” Jungkook murmurs, clipping the little pink star Siwon picks into her ponytail. “Mirae’s gonna pick you up after school for some ice cream.”
And maybe the universe is being kind to him today because Jimin has to head to his office which means Siwon doesn’t need to throw a tantrum about being sent to school. She’s downright thrilled knowing Jimin’s coming with her and not once has Jungkook ever received the same level of enthusiasm.
So unfair. So biased.
“But I want you and Jimin to pick me up too.” She whines, pouting as she sways side to side while Jungkook fixes her bangs.
“Mirae’s gonna drop you off at the tattoo parlor after.” Jungkook says, cupping her face and kissing her cheek. “Don’t be nervous, okay? Just be yourself.”
Yeap, just be yourself and scare her off, kiddo!
The moment Jimin steps out of his room, Siwon bolts toward him, throwing herself into his arms with a squeal and immediately lacing their hands together.
“Jimin! You’re sending me to school, right?” She grins like she doesn’t already know the answer.
“Yes, I am, pumpkin.” Jimin laughs, pinching her cheek. “Are you happy I’m coming with you?”
“Ya-a-a-y!” Siwon spins under his raised arm. “I want Jimin to send me to school every day!”
Jungkook clears his throat obnoxiously loud as he sets down the glittery comb and snaps the lid of Siwon’s accessory box shut a little harder than necessary.
“Where’s my credit when I’m the one driving you there?”
“But you’re my dad.” Siwon says casually, already slinging her bag over her shoulders. “You’re supposed to drive me.”
Jungkook sucks in a sharp breath, half tempted to roll his eyes at the sheer audacity of that logic. But it doesn’t last long because Siwon suddenly darts forward and wraps her arms around his waist, squeezing him tight.
“I love you, Daddy.”
And just like that, he’s done for. Jungkook lifts her right up, hugging her close as he peppers her face with kisses until she’s giggling uncontrollably, hands pushing at his cheeks in protest. “I love you so much, baby.”
He finally sets her down, slipping his car keys into her hand. “Unlock the car and wait for me inside.”
“Great start to your morning, I assume?” Jimin watches as Siwon darts out the front door, practically vibrating with excitement before he walks up to Jungkook, slipping his arms around his neck.
“Mhm.” Jungkook murmurs, his hands settling on Jimin’s waist. “God, if only every day could start like this. Can’t you go to the office more often?”
“Then it wouldn’t be called work from home anymore.” Jimin presses a soft kiss under his jaw. “So… she’s really fetching her?”
“Yeah. But I’m betting it’ll be a quick one. Doesn’t take long to get to know Siwon.” He winks, fully aware of how honest and unfiltered his daughter can be. If she doesn’t like someone, she’ll make it known immediately.
“You make it sound like she’s trouble in disguise—ah!” A little moan escapes when Jungkook slides his hands from behind Jimin’s pants and gives his ass a firm squeeze.
“I know both my daughter and Mirae. And I know for a fact they’re not gonna like each other.” Jungkook smirks proudly.
He’s raised her with care and love, instilling values while letting her have her own freedom. Siwon knows exactly who loves her, who she loves in return and thanks to her dad’s guidance, she can tell who’s good or bad.
“Just like you.” Jungkook cups his face with both hands. “You’re mine and you know it.” He kisses him slow and soft until a loud horn blares from outside, startling them both.
“Oh, for God's sake!”
Jimin’s already laughing when Jungkook scrambles to grab his things, dread settling in the moment he realizes Siwon is clearly having the time of her life behind the wheel. The horn goes off again. And again. Completely off‑beat. Yeah, let the kid unlock the car, why not.
Jungkook groans. “I’m gonna get complaints before I even leave for work.”
“Babe, we need to go—Siwon!” Jungkook’s already dragging Jimin toward the door, still giggling in the chaos. “Jeon Siwon—get your paws off the steering wheel!”
As if on cue, Siwon slams the horn a few more times before scrambling clumsily into the backseat the moment she sees her dad storming toward the car, all innocent eyes and zero remorse.
She taps her heel against the wooden floor impatiently, peering subtly down the narrow hallway as she checks the time for the third time. It’s been a whole five minutes. Where is the kid?
Moments later, the teacher’s voice carries through the corridor as she gently guides Siwon out.
“Your mum is here to fetch you. Isn’t that great, Siwon?”
Siwon doesn’t look thrilled. She stops in front of Mirae, fingers curling tightly around the straps of her bag, as if she’s waiting for further instructions instead of a reunion. While the teacher seems quietly impressed by Mirae’s polished appearance—tailored skirt blazer, Louboutin heels, Hermes bag resting neatly on her arm—Mirae is nothing more than a stranger to Siwon.
“Hi, darling.” Mirae bends down with a practiced smile, voice sweet. “I hope it’s okay that I’m picking you up today. I’m really happy to see you.”
“Okay.” Siwon replies flatly.
Mirae lets out a small, awkward chuckle. Tough crowd but she’s determined. “How about ice cream? I know a really nice place. Come on.”
She holds out her hand. After a brief pause, Siwon slips her small hand into it, letting herself be led out of the school and toward the car.
The good thing is, she’s getting dessert.
The bad thing is, it’s not with Daddy or Jimin.
Still, she clings to the thought that she’ll see them again at the parlor later.
The drive is quiet. Siwon sits obediently in the backseat, flipping through a book out of boredom. Mirae attempts small talk, but she’s bad at it. So bad that Siwon either gives short answers or simply yawns mid-sentence, eyelids drooping. She notices the slight frown on Mirae’s face in the rearview mirror before it’s quickly replaced with another smile.
Ugh. She hasn’t even gotten her ice cream yet, and she already wants the day to be over.
After what feels like a torturous fifteen minutes, they finally arrive at a small cafe selling waffles, yogurt, and ice cream. Siwon perks up almost instantly, fully awake now as she presses both palms flat against the glass display, eyes darting between the colourful options.
“I want the chocolate chip and the blueberry one!” Her gaze lands on the waffle bowls stacked neatly by the counter. “And I want that too!”
Mirae pauses, caught off guard by the enthusiasm. “You want two flavours…in a waffle bowl?”
“Daddy always lets me have two ice creams.” Siwon flashes two fingers in a proud peace sign.
“Uh… okay. Whatever.” Mirae pinches her cheek lightly. “Your dad really needs to watch your diet, darling.” She turns to the cashier and places the order while Siwon watches her pull out a card and tap it against the machine.
The dessert is ready quickly. Mirae carries the tray over to their table, setting it down neatly in front of Siwon. The girl doesn’t waste a second, digging in and humming happily to herself.
She glances up at Mirae, who’s sitting across from her with perfect posture, looking more like she’s in a formal interview than getting to know her child.
“Why didn’t you buy ice cream too?” Siwon asks.
“Because it’s not healthy.”
“Then why’d you bring me here?”
“Because your Daddy said you like ice cream.”
Siwon tilts her head. “Why’d you leave Daddy?”
“Because—” Mirae stops short, only then realizing what she’s been asked.
Siwon doesn’t even give her time to think before firing off another question. “Can I watch videos on your phone?”
“What? No.” Mirae looks almost offended as she clutches her bag closer. “Is that what your dad does? Just gives you unlimited screen time or something?”
“No. Daddy lets me colour and watch TV.” Siwon scoops up a big bite, smearing ice cream at the corner of her mouth. “He takes me to the playground too. And we went to the aquarium with Jimin!”
“Who’s Jimin?”
“Jimin lives with us. And we watch movies together at night.”
She notices it then, the slight narrowing of Mirae’s eyes when she mentions Jimin living with them. Maybe she doesn’t believe her. Maybe she’s mad. But she’s only telling the truth, whether Mirae likes it or not.
Mirae clears her throat and shifts in her seat. A small smile follows, practiced, like she’s done this before. “Maybe I could watch movies with you too. And we could live together in the same house. Just you, your dad, and me—your mum.”
Siwon looks up at her, completely serious, not blinking at all. “But you’re not my mum. Daddy says I don’t have one.” She shrugs. “And I wanna live with Jimin!”
Her biological mother is sitting right in front of her, the one that physically birthed her and Mirae is honestly appalled by what she just heard. Doesn’t have a mother? Did Jungkook brainwash her or something? What did he even tell the kid, that Mirae isn’t her mum?
She exhales through her mouth, forcing herself to calm down because she’s a second away from losing it and calling Jungkook just to curse him out. Divorced or not, that still feels cruel.
“Hurry up and finish.” She says curtly. “I’ll take you back to your dad.”
At the mention of going back, Siwon squeals around a mouthful of ice cream, nearly bouncing in her seat. She can’t wait to see her dad and Jimin again.
Jungkook’s on his last client for the day, inking a full calf tattoo of koi swimming through a pond. The guy had asked for highlights, glow, all the extra stuff and yeah, it’ll look stunning, but on a calf? Not his place to complain when the pay’s good.
“We’re almost done, by the way.” Jungkook says, wiping excess ink away with a cloth. Holding the same position for hours is exhausting for both of them. “Another ten minutes, max.”
The client just lifts a thumb and goes right back to sleep. Most of them do. They get so used to the pain it turns into white noise and before long, they’re out.
The bell above the door rings as it swings open and Jungkook spots his favourite girl darting inside. Siwon’s been trained not to touch him while he’s working because distractions mean mistakes, so she stops a few steps away, hands tucked behind her back, bouncing on her toes while she waits for the go-ahead.
“Daddy! Daddy!” She calls anyway, even though she can see he’s busy. “I ate ice cream in a waffle bowl today! Chocolate chips and blueberry!”
“That sounds amazing, baby.” Jungkook doesn’t dare look up, and he doesn’t want to pause now when he’s almost finished. “Give me a few minutes, yeah? I’ll be right with you.”
“Hi, Jungkook.”
“Hey.” He knows that voice without needing to look. It used to feel comforting. Now it just crawls under his skin.
“I think Siwon and I had a good time today.” Mirae says, resting a hand on the kid’s shoulder. “Right, darling?”
Siwon doesn’t answer. Her eyes stay locked on her dad.
“Anyway,” Mirae continues smoothly. “I was thinking I could spend another day with her. Maybe tomorrow? We could get dinner. Just the three of us.”
That’s when Siwon finally looks up, one brow arching slightly like she hasn’t already told Mirae about Jimin earlier.
“Just give me five minutes, guys.”
The three of us? Jungkook really needs to sit his ass down for this.
His version of the three of us has always meant him, Siwon and Jimin. Mirae’s three of us very clearly doesn’t. And dinner? It’s been years since they last sat down for a meal together, back when they were still pretending to be a family. Jungkook can’t even bring himself to use that word anymore, not when Siwon’s mother bolted out of their lives faster than they could even live out their vows.
“I’m gonna read some books first and play!” Siwon announces, squeezing past Mirae like she’s not even there.
“There’s juice in the fridge, baby!” Jungkook calls after her before turning back to Mirae. “You can have a seat first.”
There’s a proper lounge area in the parlor with armchairs and magazines neatly stacked on a table but Mirae ignores all of it and drags a stool over, sitting right next to him instead.
“I didn’t mean next to me.”
“Why not?” She says lightly. “We were once inseparable.”
“Key word, Mirae—once.” Jungkook adds a few final strokes of white ink, watching the koi come to life. The highlights really do make the piece pop.
“Don’t be so cold. I told you, I’m trying my best with Siwon. And… well.” She hesitates. “I missed you. I didn’t expect to run into you that day, but I’m glad I did.”
Jungkook doesn’t respond. He needs to finish this tattoo. His back aches, his neck’s stiff, his hands sore and tight. The last thing he wants is to drag this out by engaging with her.
“I can tell you’ve taken really good care of Siwon. She loves you so much. Even eats like you.”
Jungkook scoffs, because that one’s true. His kid can demolish at least four pancakes for breakfast, and sometimes he seriously wonders if he’s gonna have to start budgeting like he’s feeding two grown adults instead of one tiny human.
“Alright, my man. You’re all done.” Jungkook gives his client a gentle pat on the back to wake him. “I’ll let Taehyung handle the aftercare, if you don’t mind.” He snaps his fingers, catching Taehyung’s attention.
“Can we move over to the lounge?” He adds, glancing at Mirae. “We can talk there.”
Mirae doesn’t say anything, just stands and walks toward the velvet armchairs at the back, away from the buzz of machines, the sharp scent of ink and alcohol and the other patrons. Jungkook cleans up quickly, disposes off his gloves and washes his hands with the scented soap by the sink. Nothing clings more to his skin like blooming wildflowers.
He heads over to Siwon, who’s still curled up with her book and a soft toy resting in her lap. The second she spots him, she hops up.
“Daddy!”
“Hey, baby.” Jungkook drops to his knees, hugging her tight and peppering her cheek with kisses. “How was it with Mirae? Did you like your little date?”
Siwon hesitates, holding onto his hands and gently swinging them side to side, eyes fixed on the floor. “No…”
“Aw. Why not?”
“Because you and Jimin weren’t there.” She says it quietly, offering a polite smile.
Yes! That’s my girl!
“That’s okay.” Jungkook says warmly. “You still did really good today. And hey, you got ice cream, right?” He ruffles her bangs and pulls a snack bar from his pocket, handing it to her. “We’ll head home soon. Jimin’s on his way, so we’ll wait for him together.”
Siwon nods, already tearing open the wrapper as she settles back down with her book.
“Okay, so what is it you actually wanna talk about?” Jungkook asks the moment he steps into the lounge. “Dinner?”
Mirae smiles, a little too hopeful. “Yeah. Dinner. All of us together.”
“Why?”
She scoffs. “What do you mean, why? I just thought we could… catch up. You know. Like old times. I haven’t seen you in forever.”
“Mirae.” Jungkook sighs, already shaking his head. “We haven’t spoken in years. And you want me to believe this is just about catching up?” He lets out a short laugh. “We run into each other once by chance and suddenly you wanna be in Siwon’s life? I agreed to let you meet her because saying no would’ve made me the asshole. You’re still her mum.”
“Yeah. A mum you made her forget.”
Jungkook’s jaw tightens. “I wasn’t about to let her pine after someone who walked out on us. She has me. She’s happy. She doesn’t need to reconcile with you.”
Mirae steps closer, her voice softening. “Is it so wrong that I changed my mind? That maybe I regret what I did to you, to her? Maybe I want to fix things.”
She reaches for his hands, gripping them tightly, eyes searching his. “Listen to me. We can be a family again—”
“Cut the bullshit.”
Mirae freezes, blinking like she didn’t expect that.
“What do you actually want?” Jungkook yanks his hands free, stepping back and shoving them into his pockets. “You don’t love me no matter how hard you try to sell it. You hated our child. You hated us. So stop pretending, because this isn’t you.”
She starts stammering something incoherent, eyes blinking fast as she tries to put her words together.
“You want to buy over my tattoo company? My staff? You want the house? I’ll give you anything, just name it. Except for sex. That’s reserved for Jimin.”
Her face tightens immediately.
“Jimin. Jimin. Jimin.” Mirae snaps, irritation bleeding through. “Who the hell is this Jimin that you and Siwon won’t shut up about?”
Jungkook doesn’t hesitate. Not even a second.
“Jimin’s my boyfriend.”
“So you swing that way, huh. Thought I knew everything about you.” She tilts her head. “Guess I was wrong.”
“Who I love is none of your business.” Jungkook replies flatly. “Right now, I just need to know what you want so we can get the hell out of each other’s faces.”
She chews the inside of her cheek, pride warring with desperation. In the end, desperation wins.
“My company…” She admits. “It’s struggling. We almost went bankrupt last month. I managed to cover the damages, but now I’m—”
“Broke?” Jungkook finishes for her.
“I’m not in shambles.” She snaps with narrowing eyes. “Not yet. But I thought… maybe you could lend me some money. You’re my ex-husband anyway.”
Jungkook laughs humorlessly because this just keeps getting better and better. “Wow. So all this?” He gestures vaguely. “The family talk, getting close to Siwon, playing nice. This was all just to butter me up?”
She doesn’t deny it, feeling embarrassed for how things turned out.
“You’re unbelievable.” Jungkook mutters. “Seriously sick in the head, Mirae.”
“If you can’t help me—”
“I’ll wire it to you.” Jungkook pulls out his phone, already tapping. “One hundred million won. That’s it.”
He turns the screen toward her, the transfer confirmation bright and undeniable. “In return, you stay out of my life. Out of my family’s life. That includes Siwon. And Jimin.”
Mirae checks her phone, the notification coming through with a ping. “…Deal.” She presses her lips together. “Thank you. I’ll go now.”
The moment Mirae steps out of the lounge, Jimin walks in and nearly collides with her. “Oh—sorry!”
She shoots him a sharp look, eyes narrowing as something clicks in her head. So this is Jimin. With a frustrated groan, she brushes past him and storms out without another word.
“Ba-a-abe.” Jungkook immediately slumps the moment he sees Jimin, shoulders sagging like the weight of the world just landed on him. “I had such a terrible day. I lost a hundred million won.”
“She’s so rude.” Jimin says, already pulling him into a hug, rubbing slow circles down his back. “And…how exactly did you lose a hundred million won?”
“That’s Mirae for you.” Jungkook sighs, burying his face into Jimin’s neck and inhaling deeply. He relaxes almost instantly when he smells that light, floral scent he loves so much. “And I gave it to her. Voluntarily.”
Jimin blinks. “Why’d you give her money?”
“It was all an act.” Jungkook mutters. “Getting close to Siwon. The dinner talk. The whole ‘family again’ bullshit.” He lifts a hand to sweep Jimin’s bangs aside, tucking them neatly behind his ear. “Turns out she’s broke and thought she could butter me up.”
“I thought she was rich?” Jimin frowns, genuinely puzzled. “Didn’t she run a company?”
“She still does. It’s just crashing and burning,” Jungkook groans. “Babe, I really don’t wanna talk about her anymore.” He pulls a face. “I don’t care if she ends up living on the street. I just wanna talk to you, kiss you tonight, and cuddle.”
Before Jimin can respond, Jungkook hooks his arms under his thighs and lifts him up effortlessly, holding him against his chest.
“Jungkook—” Jimin laughs, startled but already looping his arms around Jungkook’s neck.
“I’m serious.” Jungkook murmurs, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
He’s always like this. Always so sudden, so intense and affectionate in the most random moments. And Jimin doesn’t fight it. If anything, he melts into it, secretly loving how easily Jungkook makes him feel wanted.
“Okay, good. Because I don’t like her attitude.” Jimin cups Jungkook’s face with both hands and presses a kiss to his lips. “And I want you all to myself. Can’t have you thinking about anyone who isn’t me.” He giggles, leaning in to kiss the tip of Jungkook’s nose.
“Mhm.” Jungkook murmurs fondly. “No one else’s but yours.”
A tiny, very deliberate throat-clearing cuts through the moment, making both of them turn.
Siwon is standing at the entrance of the lounge, arms crossed, wearing a deep scowl that looks far too serious for someone her size. Jungkook reacts instantly, dropping Jimin back onto his feet without warning.
“Hey—!” Jimin scowls, wobbling slightly as he lands.
“Daddy.” Siwon’s voice is firm. Unimpressed.
“Yes, baby?” Jungkook answers a little too fast.
She squints at him. “Are you done working?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I’m done for the day.”
“Let’s go home.” The scowl stays firmly in place as she turns on her heel and marches off to get her things.
Jungkook exhales. “Okay, you heard the missus. Let’s—” He reaches for Jimin’s hand only for his boyfriend to pull away with a huff.
“Hmph.” He rolls his eyes. “If you’re gonna drop me like that, you don’t get to touch me.” Jimin walks off ahead of him, chin tipped up.
Jungkook trails after him with a long, suffering groan. Now he’s got two upset babies to deal with. Luckily for him, Jimin is forgiving and is already flashing him flirty little smiles by the counter while Jungkook jots down his next appointments in the book. And Siwon has forgotten all about her earlier attitude the moment she finishes chatting Taehyung up at his station, running back to her dad the second she’s called over to get ready to leave.
Once they’re in the car, Siwon buckles into the backseat and since curiosity will kill the cat, Jimin finally asks. “So…did you like Mirae, pumpkin?”
Jungkook throws him a quick, confused look as he drives.
“No.” Siwon answers easily. “Because she’s not Daddy.”
Jimin blinks, then laughs softly. “Would you wanna meet her again if she asked?”
“Dunno.” She shrugs, completely unbothered, then brightens. “But I did eat two ice creams today!” She sounds ridiculously proud of herself.
“That’s my girl!” Jungkook grins, catching her eye in the rear-view mirror. “You should’ve asked for more.”
Siwon smiles, nodding eagerly. “She also said she wants to watch movies with us and live together, Daddy.”
Jimin and Jungkook react at the exact same time.
“Yeah, that’s not happening.” Jungkook mutters flatly.
“Ew.” Jimin adds immediately, scrunching his nose.
“But I told her I wanna live with Jimin and Daddy.”
“That’s my pumpkin!” Jimin twists around in his seat, flashing exaggerated heart fingers at her. Siwon bursts into giggles, kicking her feet just because she can. Jimin grins before turning back to Jungkook. “Can you imagine if she actually showed up at the door? Bags and all. Saying she’s gonna sleep over.”
Jungkook snorts. “Babe, are you trying to make me crash in the middle of the road? That’s a literal nightmare.”
“Oh come on. Really, what would you have done?” Jimin places a warm hand on Jungkook’s thigh, voice lowered just enough so the backseat princess can’t hear. “Let’s say I just got out of the shower. You’re waiting for me in bed. I take off my robe…” His hand creeps higher with every word, slow and deliberate.
“Mmh…yeah.” Jungkook mutters, jaw tightening. He doesn’t even dare look at him. One glance and they’d end up wrapped around a lamp post. “Keep going, babe.”
“And then—” Jimin grins to himself. “There’s a doorbell. You open it and it’s Mirae, standing there, saying she’s here to spend the night.”
Jimin’s fingers are only inches from becoming a real problem.
“I’d slam the door in her face.” Jungkook says without hesitation, lips curling. “Lock it. Then run back and slam you into the mattress.”
“You’re such a pervert.”
“Yeah, and you’d still spread those legs faster than I can slip on a—” Jungkook cuts himself off, only mouthing the word condom with an infuriating grin.
Jimin flushes instantly. Absolutely not. He refuses to acknowledge that. He rolls his eyes instead and steals Jungkook’s phone, scrolling through Spotify to escape the pop-heavy girl group playlist. “I’m changing this. I need something less bouncy.”
“Oh, wait.” Jimin pauses. “I remember this guy. I used to listen to a bunch of random Western music when I was younger. This was huge back then.”
“Sounds familiar.” Jungkook hums.
James Blunt’s You’re Beautiful fills the car, soft and nostalgic. Jungkook squints, trying to place it. Maybe the shop? Taehyung messes with the playlist all the time and throws in anything from indie to throwback hits when he’s bored, a mixture of English and Korean artists.
“Yeah, she caught my eye, as I walked on by…”
“It’s actually kind of sad.” Jimin says. “It’s about a creepy encounter with an ex. Poor guy.”
“Damn—wait.” Jungkook slows as he pulls into the garage, brows knitting together. “That’s…that’s me, isn’t it?”
Jimin laughs because honestly, the timing is criminal.
“She could see from my face that I was—”
Jungkook’s phone suddenly buzzes with an incoming call from Taehyung. The music cuts off mid-lyric and then a small, very confident voice pipes up from the backseat, finishing it in perfect pitch.
“...fucking hi-i-gh.”
Dead silence.
Jungkook snaps his head around so fast he nearly dislocates something. Jimin turns slowly, horror dawning on his face.
“…Siwon, baby?” Jungkook says carefully. “Where did you hear that word?”
Siwon blinks innocently, giving him owlish eyes. “The song.”
Jimin clamps a hand over his mouth. “Oh, pumpkin…”
Jungkook groans, dropping his head back against the seat. “Taehyung.” He mutters at the still-ringing phone. “You’re so dead.”
Jungkook’s been unusually busy around the house that morning. He’s called Siwon at least three times from outside her room to wake up and get ready for school which is already strange, considering she’s usually up by the first call and padding straight into their bedroom to crawl onto the bed and bother Jimin before her bath.
Today, Jungkook decides to play a domestic husband. No ordering breakfast, no shortcuts. He’s going to cook. Be that sweet, attentive green flag he prides himself on being, while also pouring cereal for his daughter.
He plates up French toast, golden and warm, drizzled generously with maple syrup and topped with neatly sliced peaches. Normally it’d be bananas or strawberries, but Jimin likes peaches best. Jungkook smirks proudly to himself because he remembers these things by heart. That’s what love does to a person. But especially when love comes in the form of a cute man named Jimin.
Siwon wanders into the kitchen just as Jungkook pours cornflakes into a bowl and adds milk. He glances at her immediately, brows knitting together.
“Baby, you feeling okay? You look a little rough.”
She doesn’t answer. Just nods once and climbs onto the chair, picking up her spoon without her usual chatter.
Jungkook’s dad instincts start screaming. This isn’t his usual bright, talkative, half-awake menace of a child. He steps closer and presses a palm to her forehead.
Yeap, she’s burning up like the Sahara. He grabs the ear thermometer and gently fits it in place. Before Siwon can say anything, it beeps. 38.1°C.
Jungkook exhales sharply, worry settling in his chest. “You’re sick, baby.”
“Daddy…” Siwon looks up at him, eyes glassy, cheeks flushed, her voice small and tired and that alone is enough to make his heart sink.
“I know, sweetie.” Jungkook presses a kiss to the crown of her head. “No school for you today. Finish your breakfast and I’ll get your medicine, okay?”
It’s not the first time Siwon’s been sick. Jungkook’s handled fevers, sniffles, and late-night coughing fits more times than he can count but it never makes it any easier. He still has her fever medicine from the clinic, safely within date, and he always keeps cooling patches stocked for days exactly like this.
Jungkook calls the school to let them know of her absence for a few days before he goes to stick the patch over Siwon’s forehead. Normally, Siwon would protest and complain that it’s for babies, roll her eyes when Jungkook insists she’s his baby but today, she doesn’t argue at all.
That worries him more than the fever.
Once she’s taken her medicine, Jungkook leads her back to bed and tucks her in carefully, placing her beloved stingray plushie right under her chin, exactly how she likes it.
“Daddy…” Siwon murmurs, eyes already fluttering shut.
“Yes, baby?” He leans closer immediately.
“Can you stay with me?” She hugs the plush tighter, peeking up at him through heavy lashes.
Something tightens painfully in Jungkook’s chest. He has appointments today, ones he can’t cancel at the last minute but leaving her like this feels wrong.
“I’ll stay until you fall asleep.” He promises softly, brushing her hair back. “Daddy still has to go to work after, but Jimin’s gonna be home today to take care of you, okay?”
Her brow creases faintly. “Will you come home quick?”
“Always.” He smiles, even though his eyes sting. “Need me to get you anything after work? No ice cream though. You’re sick.”
“Aww…” Siwon pouts weakly, even half-asleep. “Can I have pudding?”
“You can have a small cup.” Jungkook chuckles, bending down to kiss her forehead again. “Now rest for me, okay?”
The moment Siwon’s eyes slip shut, she’s out within two minutes. Jungkook lingers, pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek before quietly retreating to his room. He slips into bed and curls around Jimin from behind, burying his face into the warm crook of his neck, breathing him in like it grounds him.
“You’re still here?” Jimin croaks sleepily, stretching as Jungkook tightens an arm around his waist.
“My little brat caught the virus.” Jungkook murmurs. “Can you look after her for me?”
That has Jimin turning around immediately, all traces of sleep gone. “Siwon’s sick?”
“Yeah.” Jungkook takes the chance to kiss along his exposed collarbone. There’s just something about Jimin in low-neck shirts that gets to him every time. “I gave her medicine. She’s asleep for now, but I need to head out soon.”
“Do you want me to take her to the doctor?” Jimin asks quickly, worry written all over his face. “I can call off work. I’m just working from home anyway. Or I could get a private doctor to come over—”
“Babe.” Jungkook chuckles softly, pressing a kiss to his jaw. “I honestly can’t tell who the parent is right now. Why are you more stressed than me?” He takes Jimin’s wrist and presses a small, grateful kiss to it. “You’re so sweet. Thank you. But she’ll be okay.”
Jimin has every right to be worried too. He might not be her blood, but Siwon feels like his own daughter in every way that matters. This is his first time dealing with a sick kid since moving in and his mind won’t stop spiraling. What if her fever spikes? What if it doesn’t go down by tonight? What if she just lies in bed all day feeling miserable? The thought alone makes his chest tighten.
This is his little Siwon, after all.
“There’s really no need for you to skip work, babe. I promise she’s fine.” Jungkook tries to soothe him, thumb brushing gently over Jimin’s cheek when he sees that worry still etched on his face. “You’ll be here anyway, and she’s probably just gonna sleep in or watch TV all day.”
“This is your five-year-old daughter we’re talking about.” Jimin says flatly.
“Exactly. A five-year-old who knows how to tell you if she’s feeling worse or better.” Jungkook smiles softly. “So relax, yeah? I can’t deal with two sick babies today.”
That earns a breathy sigh from Jimin. “Okay…okay, fine. You should go. You’ll be late.”
“You look way too cute when you’re worried.” Jungkook murmurs, cupping his face. “I almost wanna call in sick myself.”
He kisses him, slow and gentle, hands already wandering and sliding over Jimin’s ass, sneaking under his shirt to trace warm skin until Jimin nudges him away with a laugh.
“You have a feverish daughter and work to get to, and this is where your mind goes?” Jimin wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, lips curling despite himself.
“Hey,” Jungkook grins shamelessly. “I’m just a man weak for his boyfriend. Especially when he’s wearing a low V-neck, tiny shorts, and walking around with an ass that makes me wanna bite.”
“Stop—” Jimin barely gets the word out before he’s giggling, Jungkook kissing up his thigh and over the outline of his length before tugging him onto his stomach and sinking his teeth playfully into his left buttcheek.
“Ow—! You—!” Jimin twists around to retaliate, but Jungkook steals one last kiss.
“Don’t worry about Siwon.” Jungkook murmurs against his lips. “Just call me if you need anything. Also, I made breakfast. Make sure to finish them.”
“Oh, how romantic. Okay.” Jimin smiles, the anxiety from earlier finally easing as Jungkook pulls back. Somehow, he always knows exactly how to calm him down.
Jimin’s been staring at his laptop for hours now, eyes flicking back and forth between the screen and the hallway every few minutes, just in case Siwon wakes up. He wants her to know she isn’t alone, that he’s right here and ready the moment she needs anything.
Paranoia gets the better of him anyway. Every forty-five minutes like clockwork, he finds himself padding over to her room to check on her. He’s not really in the headspace to work when his precious little pumpkin is sick and miserable. All he wants to do is shut his laptop, crawl into bed, and cuddle her but he already promised Jungkook he wouldn’t freak out. He’s trying. Failing, but trying.
[jungkook]
i’ve ordered lunch for you and siwon
how’s she doing?
more importantly, are you coping? :D
[jimin]
tease me all you want. hmph
she’s still sleeping and im trying to work
[jungkook]
okay. make sure the two of you eat
it’ll deliver in about 10 minutes
love you xx
He has completely forgotten about his own hunger. By the time he glances at the clock, it’s almost noon. His stomach should be growling, but worry has overridden everything else.
He sighs as he turns back to his laptop and starts typing again. There’s nothing else he can do right now. Hovering over a sleeping Siwon won’t help her, or him. He might as well finish his work as quickly as possible, so he can spend the rest of the day properly fussing over her later.
Sounds like a solid plan.
Jungkook’s lunch delivery arrives right on time. Jimin brings the bags in and sets everything on the table. Noodles for himself, chicken porridge for Siwon. Just as he’s about to head down the hallway to check on her again, a small figure appears instead. Siwon stands there hugging her stingray plush to her chest, hair sticking out in every direction as she rubs at one sleepy eye. She’s still in her school uniform. Jungkook must’ve put her straight to bed after getting her dressed that morning.
“Where’s Daddy?”
“Hey, pumpkin.” Jimin’s already crossing the space between them, gently smoothing her messy hair before cupping her face and pressing a kiss to her cheek. “Daddy’s still at work. How’re you feeling?”
Siwon looks up at him, lower lip wobbling as her voice cracks. “I want Daddy.”
That single sentence makes Jimin’s chest ache. Of course she’s looking for him the moment she wakes up. No matter how much she likes Jimin, when a kid’s sick, they want their parents.
“Oh, pumpkin…you miss him, huh.” Jimin scoops her up, and Siwon immediately curls into him, resting her head on his shoulder. She’s still warm, too warm. “Look, Daddy sent you chicken porridge.”
She peeks at the container briefly before letting her head drop again. “I don’t want it.” She mumbles.
“You have to eat a little, sweetie.” Jimin says gently. “You still need to take your medicine. We gotta fill that tiny tummy first.”
Siwon whines and shakes her head in protest.
Jimin sets her down carefully on the chair and kneels in front of her so they’re eye to eye. “Do you want something else?”
“…pudding.”
Jimin can’t help smiling. Of course. “Tell you what.” He says softly. “If you eat some porridge first, I’ll get you pudding after. As many as you want.”
Siwon only hums in response, resting her chin on top of her stingray plush. She waits quietly while Jimin pours a glass of water for both of them. She doesn’t complain when he swaps out her cooling patch for a fresh one. And when Jimin finally sits down, she obediently opens her mouth every time he feeds her a spoonful of porridge.
She doesn’t say a word the entire time. That’s what makes Jimin start to worry again.
Her cheeks are flushed a deep red, her eyes glossy and unfocused. When she blinks, a tear slips down her cheek, and she doesn’t even bother wiping it away. She looks exhausted, like everything hurts and she doesn’t have the energy to say it.
“Pumpkin…are you in pain?” Jimin asks softly, trying to keep the panic out of his voice.
Siwon doesn’t answer. She just hugs her stingray tighter. Jimin grabs the ear thermometer and checks her temperature.
38.7°C.
His breath stutters. He may not know much about kids, but even he knows that’s high. Too high. No wonder she looks so out of it.
“Okay.” Jimin says, forcing his voice to stay steady even as his eyes burn. “We’re gonna go to the clinic, alright?”
It doesn’t matter what Jungkook said earlier. Jimin can’t just sit here and wait when Siwon looks like this. He’d never forgive himself if something happened to her because he chose to take it easy. Lunch is immediately forgotten. He grabs his wallet, phone and keys, then carefully lifts Siwon into his arms. She just curls into him weakly, her head resting against his shoulder. She’s in no state to walk. And even if she were, Jimin wouldn’t let her.
It takes about fifteen minutes to reach the clinic, and another ten before they’re finally called in. Siwon falls asleep in Jimin’s arms on the way there, only stirring when the nurse calls their name. Jimin tells the doctor everything—how high her fever’s been, how quiet she is, how little she’s eating. Ten minutes later, they walk out with new medications and clearer instructions.
Jimin’s only plan is to take her straight home and put her back to bed. But halfway down the pavement, Siwon tugs on his hand, stubborn little feet veering toward the supermarket across the road.
“Jimin.” She murmurs, voice small. “I want pudding.”
He lets out a breath he didn’t realise he was holding. Hearing her talk again feels like a tiny miracle. Maybe it’s the fresh air, but she looks a bit more awake now.
“Okay, pumpkin.” He says softly. “We’ll get your pudding. Then we’re going straight home, okay?”
The moment they step inside the supermarket, Siwon shivers. Jimin frowns, noticing how thin her clothes are. He makes a mental note to have her changed into her long-sleeved pyjamas the second they’re home.
She spots the pudding aisle before he does, pointing weakly at the caramel ones with the thin chocolate layer on top. Jimin grabs six packs and drops them into the basket without hesitation. He adds apples and watermelon too, anything with enough water content to keep her hydrated. What’s meant to be a quick stop turns into almost half an hour.
By the time they’re done, the basket’s filled with fever patches, coconut water, sandwiches, yogurt cups, and a couple of chocolate bars Jimin doesn’t even remember picking up. Better to have too much than not enough when it comes to Siwon.
When they’re finally home, Siwon changes into her pyjamas and insists on having one cup of pudding before taking her medicine. Jimin gives in but on the condition that she takes it properly and rests after. They settle on the sofa with the TV playing softly in the background. Siwon curls closer, resting her head on Jimin’s lap, stingray plush tucked under her chin as usual.
Jimin strokes her hair absentmindedly as she watches for a while, eyelids growing heavier and heavier until the medicine finally takes effect and she drifts off. He doesn’t dare move, staying exactly where he is, one hand still smoothing through her hair, afraid that even the smallest shift might wake her. Only then does he let out a shaky breath.
He’d been terrified the entire time. He doesn’t know what he’s doing, not really. This is his first time taking care of a sick child, and the helplessness of it all had been too much. He’d kept it together for her, pushed the fear down so she wouldn’t see it and now that she’s asleep, it all spills over. Jimin wonders how Jungkook takes care of her when she’s unwell or how he feels when Siwon’s sick. Without a doubt, Jungkook surely handles it much better than he did since being a parent.
[jimin]

By the time Jungkook gets home, the house is quiet aside from the TV still playing some random show while Jimin and Siwon are both asleep on the couch. His little one is sprawled across Jimin’s lap, stingray plush abandoned on the floor, and Jimin himself is knocked out, head tipped back against the couch like he ran out of energy mid-thought.
Jungkook smiles to himself. Looks like it’s been a long day for both of them.
He heads to the fridge, still holding onto the mango pudding he promised Siwon he’d buy. But the moment he opens the door, he pauses. The shelves are already stocked with cartons of coconut water, sandwiches, and stacks of pudding. He doesn’t remember asking Jimin to go grocery shopping. Jungkook scoffs softly, shaking his head as he slides the mango pudding in between the caramel ones.
“My two little babies…” He murmurs fondly as he walks back to the couch.
He grabs the remote and switches the TV off. Then he picks up the stingray plush, gently places it back on Siwon’s chest, and carefully lifts her into his arms.
“…Daddy?” Siwon stirs, blinking sleepily.
“Shh. Go back to sleep, baby.”
Once she’s tucked safely into bed, Jungkook heads back to his boyfriend in the living room who’s currently still asleep.
“Babe?” Jungkook whispers as he sits beside him, one hand cupping Jimin’s face while his thumb brushes gently over his cheek.
Maybe it’s the leftover desire from this morning, but seeing Jimin asleep like this, looking so unguarded and worn out, it does things to him. Vulnerable Jimin is dangerous. Good thing they’re already dating.
“Jimin, babe. Wake up.” Jungkook leans in, pressing slow, lingering kisses to his lips, just enough to coax a soft sound out of him. “If you’re gonna sleep, at least do it in bed.”
Jimin blinks awake, eyes unfocused for a second before they land on Jungkook’s smiling face. Then reality hits. “Where’s Siwon?”
“In her room.” Jungkook answers easily. “Hi.” He tilts his head, brushing another kiss to Jimin’s lips. “Rough day?”
That’s all it takes. Jimin surges forward, wrapping his arms around Jungkook’s neck and half-collapsing on top of him, clinging like he’s been holding himself together all day just for this moment.
“I thought she was gonna pass out.” Jimin whines, voice tight with leftover fear. “I was so scared. I took her to the doctor.”
“Mhm.” Jungkook rubs slow, steady circles down his back to ground him. “You did so good. Taking care of a sick kid all on your own. That must’ve been overwhelming.” His voice softens. “I’m sorry I scared you.”
Jimin shakes his head against Jungkook’s shoulder, his breathing evening out little by little.
“I guess it’s something I have to learn, right?” He murmurs. “If I’m gonna be with you, I have to know how to take care of her when she’s sick.”
That does something to Jungkook—warmth spreading straight through his chest. No one’s ever cared for Siwon like this except him. And Jimin just steps into it so naturally. Even when Siwon’s being a brat, he never pushes her away. Never scolds her. Never treats her like a burden. He just accepts her.
And Jungkook holds him a little tighter because of it.
“Thanks for worrying about her. I’m really glad she has you.” Jungkook presses a soft kiss to Jimin’s temple. “She’s gonna be okay, yeah? She’s a tough cookie. Give her till tomorrow, she’ll be running around again like nothing happened.”
Jimin lets out a slow breath against his neck, finally relaxing. “Okay. I’m not worried anymore now that you’re here.”
Jungkook chuckles. “You’re basically the mom Siwon never had.” His hand drifts down Jimin’s back, settling somewhere very familiar because where else would it go when they’re like this? “Like… a really hot mom. God, you’re so hot when you take care of my daughter.”
He gives Jimin’s ass a playful squeeze, earning a soft groan in return.
Jimin pulls back just enough to look at him, all the tension gone from his face. There’s a quiet smile there, fond and warm, before he leans in and steals a kiss. It’s soft but needy, like he’s been missing him for days. It’s the kind of kiss that’s impatient and just a little noisy with the lip smacking and the panting, the more Jungkook’s hands roam, the harder it gets for Jimin to stay still. His body starts responding on its own, hips shifting instinctively, chasing that heat as the kiss deepens just enough to make his head spin.
“Babe, not here.”
Jimin doesn’t listen. He continues to kiss Jungkook down his neck when his boyfriend stands up, carrying him on his front as he makes his way to their room.
Once he closes the door, he tosses Jimin gently onto the bed, removing his own top and pants with the only fabric that remains is his boxers. “Should we talk about all that stuff in our fridge or… do you wanna fuck first?”
Jimin lets out a soft chuckle as he takes off his clothes. He’s definitely forgotten about the stuff he bought. Jungkook must’ve been shocked and curious. He turns Jungkook around, making him lay on the bed instead as Jimin straddles him above.
“She wanted a pudding, okay.” Jimin pants as he keeps the heels of his palms firm on Jungkook’s chest while he moves his hips. “Can’t deny her. She’s already sick, I might as well give her what she wants.”
Jungkook bites his bottom lip at the pleasure shooting through his spine. It’s always a delight to see Jimin above him like this. Slim waist, milky skin and the way he rolls his hips so languidly is driving him insanely crazy.
“Mhm.” He glides his hands behind, from the hips to the curves on the top of his ass. “And one cup isn’t enough, you had to go buy six—ah! Babe, just like that, yeah.”
Jimin presses his hips down harder, creating more friction between their crotches. “What if she cries and asks for more, huh. It’s good to have extras.”
“Yeah—and the other stuff?” He groans, already feeling himself leaking under his boxers.
“That’s just in case she doesn't get better.” Jimin grabs Jungkook’s hands, placing them over his chest and Jungkook knows exactly what he wants when he readily thumbs over both his nipples. “Fuck…” He tilts his head back with a sigh.
“Look at you… so hot and just for me. Since you had a hard time this afternoon, I’m gonna take care of you.”
Jungkook sits up against the pillows, pulling Jimin’s waist closer to him as he sucks on Jimin’s right nipple. His other hand works tirelessly to squeeze on Jimin’s ass just because he can’t get enough of the fleshiness. God, Jimin’s just built to perfection. He’s got a lean and sexy figure and Jungkook’s lucky to be the one manhandling him everyday.
Thank god Mirae divorced him or he would never get to touch this piece of cake.
Jimin grips the back of Jungkook’s hair while his boyfriend abuses his nipple—biting, licking and sucking until it’s visibly swollen and pink. He’s sensitive anyway, so it doesn’t take long for his skin to react. The harder Jungkook sucks, the needier his hips become when he rocks against his boyfriend’s cock, desperate to hold back and not come too quickly. He’s already wetting the front of his underwear.
“You taste so fucking delicious. I just wanna stay like this the whole night with my mouth sucking on your tits.” Jungkook smirks with the nipple between his teeth as he looks up.
It’s sickeningly attractive. It’s so unfair. That single expression has Jimin’s cock throbbing. And the worst part is that Jungkook knows. He knows how ridiculously hot he is when he does shit like this. So frustrating.
“Shut up.” Jimin’s already fumbling a hand underneath Jungkook’s boxers, searching for his length and sticking the tip out just a little.
He toys with it, circling his fingers around the head and Jungkook begins to groan at the sensation. Jimin rubs on the underside, teasing him until Jungkook unknowingly bites down hard on him, making Jimin push him away at his chest.
“Fuck, that hurts! Jungkook!”
Jungkook pulls his neck down for a kiss while he rubs a thumb over that wounded nipple to soothe the ache. “Sorry. You were being cheeky with my cock. Can’t let you get away with it.”
He kisses Jimin’s chest, sucking lightly onto the skin, just enough to leave a mark. He lifts his hips up to pull off his boxers before his hands start roaming against Jimin’s ass again, bunching up his underwear to the middle.
“Think you can take me straight?”
Jimin can’t hide his blush. Honestly, he’s fully relaxed so he should be able to handle it. But the fact Jungkook doesn’t even bother to prep him just shows how much of a pervert he is right now.
“Why are you so horny, huh? Can’t even take five minutes to stretch me open? Jeez.” He snickers.
“Maybe I wanna see the face you make when you split on my cock.”
“You better not have a pain fetish, Jeon Jungkook. I swear to God..”
Jungkook chuckles at his adorable boyfriend. He doesn’t dare hurt him even if Jimin allows it. Even if he spanks him, he does it gently. Jungkook brings two fingers to Jimin’s mouth, letting him suck and coat them with saliva before bringing it to his ass. He circles on his rim, making Jimin arch his back even more. But the slide in is easy since he’s pretty much still loose.
“Do you finger yourself open when I’m not home, hm? You’re loose, babe.” Jungkook smirks and Jimin wants to slap that smirk off his face. What he does at home when no one is around is none of Jungkook’s business.
“Just put it in. You talk too much.”
“You scream too much.”
Jimin pinches and twists Jungkook’s nipple to shut him up as he leans for a kiss, shifting his body slightly so Jungkook could slide inside smoothly. With only just the tip in, Jimin’s already moaning out loud that Jungkook has to instantly shush him because they still have a kid in the house, who’s sick and sleeping and has no idea that her adults are fucking.
“Told you. You scream too much.”
Jimin can’t even muster a snarky comeback when his body is overwhelmed by the electrifying thrusts of Jungkook behind him. He buries his face into Jungkook’s neck, desperate to muffle the sounds spilling from his mouth but his boyfriend is enjoying every second of it, slamming harder against his ass and coaxing out each pathetic, helpless moan Jimin can’t hold back.
As much as Jungkook loves teasing him, it backfires immediately.
Jimin’s moans are the most sinfully orchestrated sounds he’s ever heard. Every syllable has him twitching inside. It’s sweet, it’s delicious and so velvety and rich in need. He should’ve known better than to rile him up and now he’s about to burst like a virgin.
Jungkook stops moving completely, catching his breath and to let the feeling pass.
The other starts whining, knowing exactly why he’s not thrusting anymore. “Jungkook, come on. Give me more.”
“Babe, wait, just—” Jungkook swallows as he pants. “Five minutes, baby.”
“No. No five minutes-s-s!”
Impatient, Jimin moves his hips to chase that friction. If Jungkook’s not giving it to him, then he’s gonna get it himself. Just when Jimin grinds harder, Jungkook fixes his hands firmly on his waist.
“Jungkook, please-e-e. Need it so much.” Jimin kisses his jawline, nibbling playfully at his skin. “Give it to me, babe.”
Jungkook chuckles seeing how needy Jimin is, like a cat in heat when he stubbornly insists on moving his hips despite Jungkook pinning him in place. “I love you.”
“I don’t need you to love me, I need you to fuck me, Jeon Jungkook!”
“Shit, you’re fucking feisty. It’s hot.” Jungkook starts thrusting again, deeper this time. “Don’t blame me if I cum without warning.”
Jimin goes limp again in his hold, his mouth finding the same exact spot on Jungkook’s neck to suck on to quiet himself before he exposes the both of them in the act to the kid who’s sleeping across the hall.
“Can I marry you, please.” Jungkook chuckles softly. It’s not even a question. “I wanna be the one to hold you like this, touch you like this.”
Even in his dizzy state, Jimin smiles against his neck hearing those words.
“I don’t want anyone else seeing your body. Fuck, I can’t imagine anyone else having you like this in bed.” Jungkook’s thrusts start to falter when he’s reaching his limits. “This is all mine, babe. You’re mine.”
If Jimin had heard it from anyone else, he wouldn’t have believed them. But coming from Jungkook, he knows that it’s genuine. He’s felt that chemistry since the very first day they met. The immediate pull, the effortless connection. It’s not something Jimin experiences often. With Jungkook, everything simply click, even with a child in the picture. Nothing ever felt forced or unpleasant. There were no secrets between them, and whenever they fought, it was over something small that never lasted more than a couple of hours.
So hearing Jungkook say he wants to marry him makes him happier than he ever thought possible. It isn’t the usual ‘will you marry me’. No, this is different. This is Jungkook asking if he could marry him instead, careful and hopeful all at once. And somehow, that makes it mean even more.
“Cum inside me…” Jimin whispers as Jungkook starts grunting, slowing down, on the verge of pulling out if Jimin hadn’t spoken up.
Jungkook spills inside, warm and wet, while Jimin traces the white over his boyfriend’s chest. But the warmth he loves most is the one blossoming in his heart from the things Jungkook said earlier. He rests there against him, listening quietly to their heartbeats, ignoring the mess between them. Just a little longer, he thinks. Just a little longer to bask in the love they carry for each other.
Siwon’s already feeling better by the next day, but just to be safe, Jungkook decides to let her stay home one more day in case her fever comes back. She’s talking again, just not as chatty as usual, which probably means she’s still recovering. Jungkook ends up taking the day off instead of leaving her with Jimin again. He still feels bad about how badly that sick day had scared him.
He keeps an eye on them while he cooks, glancing back every now and then from the kitchen. Jimin’s at the table with his screen glasses on, typing away on his laptop, completely locked in. He looks like an absolute geek. A cute one, obviously. He’s so focused he probably doesn’t even notice what’s happening around him. Not that anything is happening. Siwon’s upside down on the couch watching cartoons, legs dangling over the back of it. Every once in a while she flips onto her stomach with a book in hand.
It’s peaceful. Just the soft sizzle from the pan and the TV murmuring in the background. It feels like home. Domestic. Married, even. This must be what people mean when they talk about the good life.
A happy kid. A happy boyfriend. And Jungkook himself, finally content with how easily everything fell into place. Before Jimin, the house had felt empty even with Siwon around, babbling and running about. Just quiet dinners and routines and Jungkook’s mostly by himself. It was never like this. Now, the place feels warmer. Brighter. Like it’s actually lived in.
They spend the day moving around each other like an old couple. Eating together. Resting together. Napping on and off. Siwon interrupts them whenever she gets bored, and that’s their cue to take her out. Maybe to the playground, a walk around the neighbourhood, or a quick trip to the supermarket. Jungkook promised he’d take care of her today and he fully intends to keep that promise, indulging every princess request that’s reasonable enough.
Maybe Jungkook is naive to think Siwon would miss school after staying home for two days, because he’s very, very wrong. The next morning, she flat-out refuses to get out of bed, yanking the blanket over her head every time Jungkook appears at her door to wake her up.
“Baby, come on.” He sighs. “You’re not sick anymore. You have to go to school.”
A muffled scream erupts from under the blanket. “I wanna stay home!”
“You can’t.” Jungkook strides over and tugs the blanket away, revealing Siwon curled into a tight fetal position, clinging to her shark plush. “Up. Now.”
Defiant, she snatches the blanket back and hides again, clearly hoping her dad will just give up and leave.
“Baby.” Jungkook warns, patience already thinning. “Shower. Now. Let’s go.”
“No! I said I wanna stay home!”
He really should’ve seen this coming. She’s probably gotten used to lounging around with Jimin all day, getting spoiled, and now she’s determined to milk it for all it’s worth.
“And what exactly are you gonna do at home, huh?” Jungkook says, glancing around the room. There’s books piled on the table, toys scattered across the floor. “Actually…maybe you should stay home. Your room’s a mess.”
Siwon shoots upright instantly, blanket slipping off her shoulders. “So I’m staying home?!”
“You wish.” Jungkook grins, far too smug. “Now get up.”
The moment he reaches for her arm, a pillow comes flying straight at his face. “No! You get out!”
Jungkook freezes, taking a slow breath to remind himself that this is, unfortunately, the child he raised. It’s far too early in the morning to be assaulted with bedding. It’d be a different story if that pillow had come from Jimin.
“Fine.” Jungkook turns toward the door. “Stay home.”
Siwon peeks out from behind her blanket, hopeful.
“But no pudding for you.” He adds casually. “I’m taking all of it to work.”
Her face crumples instantly—lip wobbling, eyes filling with tears—before she lets out an angry cry, kicking her feet and hugging her shark like it’s betrayed her too. A full-blown tantrum, just as Jungkook expected.
He ignores it. Fully. He’s not about to start his morning like this. Jungkook walks out, closes the door behind him, and heads straight for his bedroom where Jimin is still fast asleep, blissfully unaware of the tiny war that just broke out.
“Ba-a-abe.” Jungkook slips up behind him, looping an arm around Jimin’s waist and pulling him close. Somewhere down the hall, Siwon’s cries are still echoing faintly from her room.
“Is Siwon crying again?” Jimin mumbles, barely awake as the sound registers.
“Mhm.” Jungkook nuzzles into the back of his neck, breathing him in like that’s the cure to all his problems. Jimin smells good. Always does. “She doesn’t wanna go to school. Says she just wants to stay home.”
“And what did you say?”
“That I’m taking all her puddings away.”
Jimin turns around slowly, squinting at him with a sleepy frown. “Are you her dad, or are you the brat?”
“Two can play the same game, babe.”
Jimin lets out a lazy chuckle, eyes still closed. “I didn’t realize someone so intimidating, piercings, tattoos, scary vibes and all, could be this petty with his own daughter.” He yawns. “So what are you gonna do now?”
“I’m gonna take off.”
“…you’re kidding.” Jimin’s eyes snap open. “You’re seriously gonna leave your daughter crying in her room like that?”
“Mhm.” Jungkook nods once, completely unapologetic. At Jimin’s glare, he adds. “Babe. She threw a pillow at my face.”
Jimin groans, scrubbing a hand over his own face. He honestly can’t believe this is happening, whether Jungkook’s half-joking or not. “Go fix it. I’m not letting you leave the house while your kid’s having a full emotional breakdown over pudding.”
And just like that, Jungkook finds himself standing in front of Siwon’s door again. The crying has stopped, thankfully. He takes a deep breath, reminding himself how much he loves his adorable, bratty daughter before pushing the door open.
Siwon’s sitting in the middle of the bed, shark plush clutched to her chest. Her cheeks are beet-red, tears still slipping down no matter how hard she tries to stop them. She looks up when Jungkook steps in, all pouty and sniffling, like her entire world just fell apart. Big watery eyes, trembling lips—the full heartbreak package.
It makes Jungkook want to slam his head against the wall for making her cry in the first place.
“Are you done?” He asks gently.
Siwon nods, trying and failing, to keep herself from breaking again.
Jungkook sighs and climbs onto the bed. “Come here.”
She doesn’t hesitate. Siwon crawls straight into his lap, burying her face in his chest as she sniffles, tiny shoulders shaking. Jungkook can feel her heartbeat racing against him. He rubs slow circles down her back, kissing the top of her head, shushing softly until her breathing starts to even out.
“You okay?”
She nods again, quiet.
“You can stay home today, alright?” Jungkook says carefully. “But I didn’t like your behavior earlier, baby. That wasn’t nice.”
Her grip tightens and she starts crying again, silent this time. His shirt’s already damp where her face is pressed.
“I don’t want you throwing pillows at people.” He continues, smoothing her hair. “You can be upset. You can throw a tantrum. Just not actual objects. Got it?”
Siwon hums softly, rubbing her face side to side against his chest.
“Can you promise me you’ll go to school tomorrow?”
“But I don’t want to.” She whines, looking up at him with fresh tears. “I wanna stay home with Daddy.”
Jungkook exhales, lifting the shark plush to gently wipe her cheeks. “Baby, I’m not even home. When you go to school, Daddy goes to work. Where do you think this shark came from, hm?” He gives the plush a little shake. “Daddy has to earn money so he can buy you stuff like this.”
“But I wanna stay home this week.” Siwon looks at him with those big, pleading puppy eyes, pouring every ounce of hope she has into her brown pupils like they might magically convince him.
Jungkook tips his head back and groans, already knowing he’s losing this fight. The red nose. The watery eyes. The absolutely devastated expression. She has no idea how powerful she is like this. He’s already halfway to giving in.
“Daddy, please…” Siwon grips his shirt tighter, voice small and desperate.
Jungkook lets out a long sigh.
Here lies Jungkook’s restraint.
“Fine. Fine—stay home this whole week.” He cups her face and presses a kiss to her forehead before adding firmly. “But you have to go to school next week. No more excuses. No more tantrums.”
Her face lights up instantly, the smile reaching her eyes, and Jungkook feels relief wash over him. “Okay, Daddy.”
“Good girl.” He kisses her cheeks, then her nose, until she lets out a small giggle. “Have all the fun you want. Jimin will be home with you. And when I get back, you can tell me all about your day. Now Daddy really has to go to work.”
The smile falters. Siwon wraps her arms around his neck, sadness creeping back in. “I want Daddy…”
Jungkook grunts as he stands up to leave, lifting her with ease. Siwon’s legs are already wrapped around him like a koala. “That’s where Jimin comes in.”
He walks into his bedroom to find Jimin already sitting against the headboard, tapping away on his phone. Jimin looks up the moment he notices Jungkook come in. Jungkook lowers Siwon onto the bed and she immediately crawls into Jimin’s arms, instinctively seeking comfort from her favourite person.
“Ah, so you can make up with your girl.” Jimin smirks, hugging Siwon close as he teases.
Jungkook rolls his eyes. “She’s staying home for the week. Keep her company for me?”
Jimin nods easily.
“Love you, baby. Love you, babe.” Jungkook presses a quick kiss to Siwon’s head, then leans down to steal one from Jimin before finally heading out for work.
And it actually feels good leaving the house knowing his daughter has calmed down. He would’ve felt shitty the whole drive to work if he’d left while she was still crying at home.
Little does he know he’s about to get a surprise every time he comes back from work. At least it’s in the most endearing way.
Day one of Siwon skipping school, and he comes home to Siwon reading her favourite book out loud… to Jimin. His poor boyfriend is laid out on the sofa—possibly against his will—with a blanket pulled all the way up to his chin, while Siwon paces back and forth, book in hand, taking her job very seriously as she reads every sentence out loud.
When Jungkook takes off his shoes with a soft thud, Siwon spins around and obnoxiously shushes him, clearly offended that her storytelling session has been interrupted.
“Daddy, it’s naptime for Jimin. You have to be quiet.” She whispers loudly.
It’s 5PM, and she’s not exactly being quiet herself if she’s trying to put an adult to sleep. At least take the role seriously if she’s going to boss one around.
Jimin turns his head when he sees Jungkook walking over. He gives a small smile, but Jungkook can’t quite tell if he’s enjoying himself… or if it’s an SOS.
“Did my small baby make my big baby put up with this?” Jungkook murmurs, kneeling beside him and pressing a kiss to his forehead.
“Hm, she wanted to play teacher.” Jimin glances at Siwon, who’s still reading with her whole face, fully committed and making sure she doesn’t hear them. “For someone who doesn’t want to go to school, she really wants to pretend she’s in one.”
Before Jungkook can respond, a tiny palm pushes at his shoulder.
Siwon frowns at him, book tucked under her arm. “Daddy, you need to go-o-o! Jimin can’t sleep.” Then she turns to Jimin, putting on her best scolding voice. “Close your eyes, Jimin!”
Jimin obediently does as he’s told, laughter already slipping from his lips.
The next day, Jungkook comes home to another episode of Jimin being forced against his will to participate in Siwon’s activities.
This time, it involves stickers.
Lots of them.
“Baby…?” Jungkook walks over slowly, taking in the sight of them sitting on the floor. Jimin has his back to him, while Siwon’s face and some parts of her arms and legs are covered in all kinds of stickers. Cats. Butterflies. Hearts.
Even the floor isn’t spared, stickers scattered everywhere like confetti. It’s a complete mess.
“Daddy! Look!” Siwon presses one last sticker onto Jimin before half-twisting his body around to proudly present her work.
Jimin blinks a few times, expression completely blank. “Yeah, Daddy. Look.”
Just like Siwon, he’s absolutely covered too. Cheeks, forehead, even his hair. Anywhere Siwon finds an empty spot, she’s pasted a sticker onto it without mercy.
“You look pretty.” Jungkook says, barely holding back his laughter as he takes out his phone to snap a picture.
Unimpressed, Jimin reaches out and grabs Jungkook by the arm, tugging him down until he’s sitting on the floor with them.
“Hey, pumpkin. I think Daddy needs some stickers on his face too.” Jimin says sweetly. “Let’s make him pretty.”
Jungkook’s smile vanishes instantly. Siwon squeals in delight, clapping her hands as she eagerly starts picking stickers off the floor, already planning her Daddy’s makeover.
By the third day, Jimin is already dreading staying home with her. Not because he hates it. No, not at all. Siwon’s just…wildly unpredictable and he has no idea what she’s going to pull today.
He figures once Jungkook gets home, they should all go out for an evening walk. Let her burn off some of that endless energy before she decides to unleash it on him. Until then, Jimin decides it’s best to look busy. Very busy. God knows what Siwon’s going to make him do if she gets bored.
He settles on the sofa with his laptop, slips on his screen glasses, opens an empty notepad, and immediately starts keyboard-smashing. Siwon’s not going to understand what he’s doing anyway. If she asks, he’ll just say it’s coding or something equally boring.
For now, she’s sprawled on the sofa, completely absorbed in her cartoon. She’s eaten, she’s happy, she’s had her afternoon nap. Which means it’s only a matter of time.
“Jimi-i-i-n.”
She’s been doing that all day. Calling his name for absolutely no reason, almost sing-song. Jimin glances over, but she’s not even looking at him. And whenever he responds, Siwon just smiles like she’s accomplished something important.
Kids are weird.
Or maybe it’s just Jungkook’s kid.

Aww, that sucks.

don’t be mad, babe
i’ll only want you more
Looks like it’s just him and Siwon for a couple more hours. Maybe he should take her out for a nice walk and get some fresh air, keep things calm—
“Jimin!”
Siwon marches over to the console and grabs the karaoke microphone before spinning back around with the biggest grin. “Jimin, can you help me?”
Oh God.
Oh God.
Jimin slides his glasses off, folds them carefully, and lets out a quiet sigh. “You wanna sing, pumpkin?”
“Yeah!” She bunny-hops over with the mic in hand before plopping back down on the sofa, already reaching for the remote.
Once Jimin connects the microphone to the speakers, Siwon confidently presses buttons like she actually knows what she’s doing, flipping the channel straight to YouTube. A familiar list of previously watched videos pops up, songs they’ve already sung together, and Siwon scrolls through it easily until she finds the one she wants.
And when the music starts, she’s immediately screaming into the microphone, singing her heart out without a care in the world. She’s wildly off-key at times, but she’s confident, loud, and having the time of her life. Jimin leans against the side of the couch with his arms crossed, watching her with the fondest smile on his face.
For the next half hour, she belts out a mix of Korean and English songs. Sometimes she’s sitting, sometimes she’s standing, strutting around the living room like she’s on stage, constantly turning to point at Jimin like he’s her one and only audience. Dressed stylishly in her duck pyjamas, no less.
She breaks into little dances mid-lyric, completely forgetting to sing the rest of the song. At one point she’s jumping around, then suddenly giggling into the mic, making random sound effects and weird noises like it’s all part of the performance.

“Jimin!”
Jimin jolts when Siwon suddenly calls his name through the microphone, loud enough to nearly give him a heart attack.
“Are you listening to me sing?” She asks.
“Well, I’m not deaf yet…” Jimin mutters, rubbing his ear. Then he looks up at her and smiles. “Yeah. I’m listening.”
“Jimin, I wanna sing K-pop Demon Hunters!” She grabs the remote and hands it to him, still talking into the mic like a professional. “But I can’t find it.”
Jimin types the title into the search bar and the moment the video thumbnails pop up, Siwon starts clapping excitedly. “That one! That one!”
Her encore stage for the evening starts strong with her song choice: Golden.
Jungkook leans back in his car, scrolling through the photos in his gallery. Ever since Jimin came into his life, it’s been filled with pictures of him. Some candid, some from dates, some taken at home with Siwon. They’re little moments Jungkook never thought he’d treasure this much.
He smiles to himself at each memory as he swipes. He used to think love was easy—and he still does, because Jimin makes everything feel effortless. Mirae had just been… an odd case. He’s glad the universe had other plans for him. Now they’re together, living under the same roof, and somehow the relationship feels even more rewarding with Jimin caring for his daughter too. Obviously, he doesn’t have to do any of it. He never needed to. And yet he bonded with Siwon so naturally that the two of them became inseparable.
Jimin really makes the world a better place for both of them.
“Ah, he looks so cute here.” Jungkook murmurs, pausing on a photo of them lying in bed, heads pressed together. Jimin is holding a peace sign up to his eye, nose scrunched in that way Jungkook loves too much. “God, I love him.”
He slips his phone back into his pocket and steps out of the car. He’s already been sitting there for almost twenty minutes, parked outside the house, lost in his thoughts. That’s enough reflection.
He’s already decided.
Before he even opens the front door, Jungkook hears Siwon’s happy singing from inside the house. It’s loud, loud enough that he’s pretty sure the neighbours can hear her too. He can barely make out the lyrics through the screaming into the mic, and she sounds a little out of breath.
Is she jumping?
The moment Jungkook steps inside, he spots Siwon bouncing on the couch, singing the lyrics to Soda Pop by Saja Boys, while Jimin sits nearby with one arm stretched out in front of her legs, just in case she steps too close to the edge and slips.
“...my little soda pop! You’re all I can think of, every drop I drink up—oh Daddy!”
Siwon squeals into the mic the second she notices Jungkook. Jimin doesn’t even hear the door unlock with how loud everything is, too focused on keeping her safe.
“Baby. Down.” Jungkook says with a smile, way too endeared by her stage performance and overexcited jumping. “You know you can’t jump on couches.”
For someone who had completely forgotten the world a second ago, Siwon quickly bends her knee and steps down, accidentally dropping the mic in the process. A sharp feedback screech cuts through the speakers, making all of them flinch at once.
She picks it up immediately and runs straight toward Jungkook with a cheeky grin, hugging his waist. “Daddy! Jimin let me sing songs from K-pop Demon Hunter!”
“Oh, really?” Jungkook pinches her cheek. “Were you singing or screaming, huh?”
“I’m singing!” Siwon huffs before running back to the middle of the room to continue the rest of her performance like nothing happened.
Jimin strolls up to Jungkook and immediately wraps his arms around his neck, kissing him on his tiptoes. “You missed half the concert. Aren’t you supposed to be her number one fan?”
“Don’t tell her but my bias is you.” Jungkook murmurs, pressing a finger to his lips.
Jimin rolls his eyes, even though the blush on his cheeks gives him away. “So what’d you pick up?”
“Just some things for the shop.” Jungkook smiles softly. “I missed you.” He cups Jimin’s face with both hands and presses a kiss to his lips. Then another. And another until they’re fully caught up in their own little bubble.
Jimin doesn’t even notice Siwon tapping insistently on his back after she’s finished singing. “Jimin, help me! I wanna sing another song!”
When Jimin doesn’t respond, Siwon lets out a tiny growl and frowns, wedging herself between them and trying to push Jungkook away.
“Daddy! Stop kissing hi-i-i-m!”
Jimin giggles at the sight of a tiny five-year-old trying to shove her dad away with her little arms. “Alright, pumpkin. What song do you want next?”
Siwon doesn’t even get a word out before Jungkook scoops her up and spins her around. Her laughter fills the room, eyes crinkling at the corners as he finally plops them both down on the couch.
“It’s time to pass the mic.” Jungkook announces. “Daddy and Jimin are singing this time.”
Her eyes light up instantly. “I wanna choose the song!”
“Okay, fine.” Jimin says as he sits beside her. “Choose a good one.”
Jungkook watches them quietly, leaning against the arm of the couch as Jimin vetoes every song Siwon picks because they’re “too upbeat.” Siwon groans dramatically each time, only to scroll again and try her luck.
The small, easy back-and-forth is all it takes.
Yeap, this is it.
The weekend rolls around and Jungkook already has plans. He’d promised to take them out for lunch, and Siwon’s been asking for burgers and fries dipped in ice cream since morning. The kid really can’t go a day without her favourite dessert. Jungkook ends up picking the perfect place. A diner tucked in a busy little neighbourhood, always packed on weekends. Brendy’s Diner is basically everyone’s go-to for burgers, pasta, and those fancy soda drinks that come in tall glasses.
He’s already made reservations for indoor seating. No way he’s dealing with Siwon complaining about the heat the entire meal. He wants her comfortable, full, and knocked out in a food coma by the end of it, which hopefully gives him a little uninterrupted time with Jimin.
“Daddy! Go faster! I’m hungry!” Siwon whines from the backseat, thumping her hands against the seat.
“Baby, I’m trying to get us lunch, not a speeding ticket.”
Jimin snickers from the passenger seat. Siwon turns into a tiny menace whenever she’s hungry.
“What are you laughing at, babe?” Jungkook smirks. “I’ll make sure you pay for me.”
“I’ll make sure you don’t get a ticket.” Jimin shoots back.
When they finally arrive, Siwon practically bolts after the waiter as they’re led to their table. She climbs into the booth first, spreading her arms across the table and swinging her legs underneath. Just as Jimin’s about to slide in beside her, Jungkook hooks a finger into the back of his pants and tugs him the other way, making him stumble slightly before Jungkook pulls him down beside himself.
“You’re mine today.” He murmurs into Jimin’s ear once they’re seated.
Siwon watches them for a moment, how Jungkook is leaning in close, whispering something she can’t hear, her eyes flicking between the two adults. But the moment the waiter returns with menus, she forgets all about it. Jealousy instantly replaced with something far more important.
Her lunch decisions.
They end up ordering a little of everything. Two pasta mains, a side of fried chicken, burgers and fries, and one tall cherry float to share. It’s definitely a treat for Siwon, considering Jungkook doesn’t usually let her have this much junk food in a month. Burgers and fries are where he draws the line but ice cream every week? Totally fine.
Such great parenting.
Still, Siwon’s healthy. He’s not worried. She’s ridiculously active anyway. She eats a lot because she burns it all off just as fast.
“Baby, guess what?” Jungkook asks out of nowhere.
Siwon’s glued to his phone, watching cat videos now. She doesn’t even look up. “What?”
“I love you.”
That gets her attention. She looks up with a big smile, teeth showing. “Daddy, guess what?”
“What?” Jungkook waits, already smiling.
“I love Jimin.” Siwon giggles, leaning back and covering her mouth with both hands, clearly proud of herself.
Jimin laughs and leans into Jungkook’s shoulder, almost apologetic. Jungkook just groans and rolls his eyes, absolutely betrayed by his own flesh and blood.
“Okay. Baby—Jimin or me?”
“Jimin!”
“Jimin or Mirae?”
“Jimin!”
“Mirae or Daddy?”
“Ji—Daddy!” Siwon throws her hands up, suddenly excited after catching herself.
“You were still about to say Jimin.” Jungkook deadpans. “You little brat.”
“I’m not a brat.” Siwon says cheekily, then turns to Jimin with the same mischievous grin. “Jimin! Me or Daddy?”
Jungkook props an elbow on the table, resting his cheek in his palm as he waits for Jimin’s answer.
“Well… it doesn’t matter who I choose.” Jimin smiles, a little too pleased with himself. “I still get both of you. If I choose Daddy, I get you too. If I choose you, I still get Daddy.”
Siwon only gives him a polite smile, completely unimpressed, before turning back to her cat videos. She rests her arm on the table and props her chin on her wrist, already over it.
“I like that answer.” Jungkook rubs the back of his neck as he looks at Jimin fondly. “It’s not the right one for her, but that’s fine.”
“She can’t make me choose between my two favourite people.” Jimin giggles softly. “I refuse.”
And in that moment, Jungkook sees his entire world.
When the food arrives, Siwon wastes no time digging in. Her hands are already slick with burger sauce and oil as she tries to take a bite way too big for her mouth. She’s so focused on eating that she smears sauce all over her lips, shoving fries in between chews like she’s afraid the food might disappear if she pauses. At some point, Jungkook has to tell her to slow down before she chokes from sheer excitement.
“Daddy, can I?” Siwon asks, looking up at him with wide eyes as she hovers a fry over the cherry float, waiting for permission to dip it into the vanilla ice cream.
Jungkook nods once.
She grins instantly and dips it without hesitation.
“Is it really that nice?” Jimin asks curiously.
“Everything is better with ice cream!” Siwon declares, shoving a fry coated in white, melty goodness toward his face. “Say ahhh.”
Jimin chuckles softly and obliges, opening his mouth with a small, exaggerated “ahhh” before she feeds it to him. He hums thoughtfully as he chews and nods. “It’s actually good.”
Lunch dates are never complete without dessert when Siwon’s around. They end up ordering a small brownie drenched in chocolate sauce just for her, and another one for the adults to share.
Except when Jimin tries to share, Jungkook just keeps staring at him.
“You don’t want it?” Jimin asks, pulling the spoon out of his mouth.
“I know a piece of cake I want.” Jungkook smirks, squeezing his thigh under the table.
“What cake?” Siwon pipes up suddenly. She’s clearly been watching, and listening the whole time.
“The kind you don’t eat, baby.”
She tilts her head for a second, thinking, then shrugs it off like it doesn’t matter. “Daddy, my teacher once asked me if I’m gonna have two daddies.”
Jimin freezes. Jungkook, on the other hand, goes quiet like his brain’s suddenly miles away.
“Huh?” Jimin glances at him, confused…but hopeful.
Jungkook turns to Siwon instead. “What do you want, baby? Do you want two daddies? Me and Daddy Jimin?”
Siwon nods eagerly as she scoops another bite of brownie into her mouth. “I want two daddies! I want Daddy Jimin to send me to school every day!”
“Okay, first of all—you don’t get to choose who sends you to school.” Jungkook huffs, because the favoritism is blatant and Daddy Jimin isn’t even official yet. “And second of all…”
He looks back at Jimin, expression softening as he reaches into his jacket pocket. Jungkook pulls out a small ring box and slides it across the table toward him.
“What do you say?” He asks quietly. “I had no intention of proposing today—if you can even call this a proposal—but the timing just feels right.”
Jimin just stares at him for a moment, then at the ring box, then back at Jungkook. His brain fully shuts down because is this actually happening right now? In front of a brownie. And a five-year-old.
“I know it’s not some grand gesture.” Jungkook says quietly. “No roses, no champagne, no fireworks or whatever.” He shifts closer, rubbing his thumb over Jimin’s thigh. “But I don’t think it needs all that. My love for you’s always gonna be louder than any of it. So…” He exhales. “Maybe think about it?”
“No.” Jimin shakes his head softly.
“…I’m sorry?” Jungkook blinks.
For a split second, panic hits him full force. His heart drops, his chest tightens, and suddenly every memory they’ve built together flashes through his mind like a bad montage. Dates, late nights, laughter, Siwon curled up between them, everything threatening to blink out.
“No.” Jimin repeats, smiling now. “I don’t wanna think about it.” He reaches for Jungkook’s hand. “So yes. I wanna be with you. I wanna be her Daddy Jimin.”
“Oh, thank god.” Jungkook lets out a shaky laugh, tapping Jimin’s thigh. “I really thought you were rejecting me for a second. Babe, I almost died.”
“How could I ever say no to this face?” Jimin cups his cheek, leaning in to kiss him. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I wanna grow old with you. And maybe get my first tattoo from you.”
“Done. Done. And done.” Jungkook kisses him all over his cheek, his nose, his lips until Jimin’s laughing and pushing him away, breathless.
Across the booth, Siwon frowns deeply, arms crossed.
“Daddy-y-y!” She whines. “Why are you kissing Jimin like that?”
“Because…” Jungkook smirks, leaning back. “Jimin said yes to being your Daddy number two.”
“Really?!” Siwon squeals from her seat, clapping her hands hard. “Ya-a-a-y! So I get to call Jimin my Daddy too?”
“Only if you love me more.” Jungkook says, pointing at her with a raised brow.
“Hmm…” Siwon grins cheekily, holding his gaze for a second before calmly cutting herself another bite of brownie and popping it into her mouth. No answer. Betrayal confirmed.
Jimin barely notices. He’s too busy staring down at what’s in his hands. He opens the ring box properly this time and freezes when the light catches the diamond.
“Oh—” He sucks in a breath, carefully lifting it out. Princess cut. Of course it is. He turns it slowly between his fingers, admiring it from every angle.
“I didn’t know what you’d like.” Jungkook admits, suddenly shy. “Something flashy like that, or—” He reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out a second ring. Smaller. Cleaner. Thin band, tiny diamonds set just enough to sparkle when it moves. “This kind.”
Jimin looks between the two, overwhelmed in the best way, his smile growing softer by the second. “And you got both…? For me? Because you weren’t sure?”
“Yeah.”
Jimin scoffs, shaking his head fondly. God, he’s dizzy. Even if this is barely a proposal, being handed two rings is a lot, in the sweetest way possible. And Jungkook is making him feel borderline diabetic, and it’s definitely not the brownie’s fault.
“Are you trying to flaunt your wealth, huh?” He mutters, pouting a little. “I know you run your own shop, but this… this is too much. You’re too much.” Eternally grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
“Nothing’s too much for you.” Jungkook says easily. “If anything, you deserve more. Especially for putting up with you-know-who.” He flicks his eyes sideways, subtly gesturing at his daughter, who’s already leaning halfway across the table.
“I wanna see! I wanna see!” Siwon chants, stretching her hands out. “Daddy, where’s mine?”
“Yah—sticky fingers, back off.” Jungkook blocks her with a hand before turning back to Jimin. “So. Which one do you wanna wear?”
Jimin hums softly, eyes flicking between the rings as Siwon’s very loud let me see! continues in the background. “Wait… are you gonna return the other one?”
It’s honestly kind of cute that that’s what he’s worried about.
“Babe.” Jungkook laughs, shaking his head. “You get to keep both. Wear them for different occasions if you want. I just wanna put on the one you choose.”
Jimin’s eyes light up instantly at that, relief and excitement crashing together. Like a kid being told he gets the whole candy bag. Without hesitation, he pushes the princess cut toward Jungkook’s face. “This one!”
“Okay.” Jungkook chuckles, taking it carefully before sliding it onto Jimin’s ring finger. It fits perfectly, snug and meant to be. “You’re officially mine now, Park Jimin.”
Jimin immediately pulls him down, pressing one kiss, then another against his lips. His heart’s fluttering, his head feels light, and it still doesn’t feel real. Jungkook had mentioned marriage before, casually in passing. But this?
Jimin’s over the moon.
“I wanna see-e-e!”
Siwon scrambles out of her seat and climbs straight onto Jimin’s lap, settling there comfortably as she grabs his hand to inspect the sparkly rock. “It’s so pretty-y-y!”
“Thank you, pumpkin.” Jimin cups her face gently, looking straight into her eyes. “Now… are you sure you want me to be your daddy? There’s no turning back. If you say yes, you’re stuck with me. Forever.”
Siwon doesn’t even hesitate. She wraps her arms around his neck and hugs him tight. “Mm-hm! I want Daddy Jimin to stay with me forever too!”
“She says Daddy Jimin faster than she ever said Dada at one year old.” Jungkook mutters, fake-annoyed.
That night, they make quiet love again, like they always do after putting their daughter to bed. Except this time it’s gentler, slower, softer and somehow more passionate. There’s something about it that feels different, heavier in the chest. More real.
Jungkook can’t stop noticing the little diamond on Jimin’s finger. When Jimin clamps his mouth down, when his hand reaches out to hold onto Jungkook’s arm, the ring flashes and it does something stupid to his head. Knowing Jimin is officially his, that he’s choosing this life, the tattoo shop, the chaos, the five-year-old who already adores him, makes Jungkook feel giddy in a way he hasn’t felt in years.
And maybe he is a little pervert, like Jimin always teases, because when Jimin’s ringed hand wraps around his cock, that shiny piece of jewelry catching the light, Jungkook just loses it. It drives him insane. This person is his. No one else gets him like this. No one else gets to touch him this way.
A few years ago, Jungkook sat with him at a bar with zero intention of falling in love. And now here they are—his bed, his house, his life—and somehow he gets to put a ring on him.
Yeah. He’s definitely the luckiest man alive.
“I love you.” Jimin says softly against the shell of Jungkook’s ear when the man is resting against his chest after busting his load for the second time that night.
“Hm. I love you more.” Jungkook presses a lazy kiss to the side of his neck, hands already sliding down and sneaking under Jimin’s bottoms. “Doesn’t help that you’re a great kisser and have an ass so thick my hands are basically glued to it.”
“Touch me all you want.” Jimin giggles. “You know Siwon’s probably gonna tell her teachers and friends about us right?”
“She can brag about having two daddies all she wants.” Jungkook hums, eyes drifting shut now that the exhaustion’s finally catching up to him, even as his hands keep squeezing Jimin’s ass on instinct. “She can do it in front of the other kids’ parents too, for all I care. Let them be jealous.”
He lets out a quiet chuckle. “But let’s be real. She’s gonna say Daddy Jimin at least ten times a day at school until her teachers get sick of it.”
Yeah. The favoritism is definitely strong in this family.
True enough, Siwon spends the entire morning calling for her Daddy Jimin before school. Now that Jimin is officially part of the family, she’s always looking for him, pouting her way through everything until Jimin promises to send her to school himself.
And because of that, Jimin’s forced to wake up earlier than his usual time—for the love of that kid.
“No!” Siwon yanks the comb out of Jungkook’s hand and snatches the hair accessory box off the table. “I want Daddy Jimin to do my hair!” She takes off running, giggling all the way until she disappears into the bedroom.
“What the fuck…” Jungkook mutters, completely blindsided by the sudden betrayal.
When Jimin comes back out with Siwon, Jungkook’s still standing there, staring into space.
“What did you do?” Jimin asks, one hand holding the comb while the other is clenched around a mess of clips Siwon clearly picked out herself.
“Nothing?” Jungkook eyes his daughter as she circles him with a smug little grin before plopping herself onto the couch. “Baby, you’re being way too obvious.”
Siwon, being five and shameless, sticks her tongue out at her dad.
And it doesn’t end there.
She grumbles when Jungkook tries to help her with her bag, tugging it away just to stand in front of Jimin instead, even though she can very clearly do it herself.
Normally, Siwon would dash straight out the door toward the car. But now that Jimin’s been promoted to Daddy Number Two, she takes her sweet time, waiting just so she can hold his hand on the way out.
Even when they reach the school to drop her off and she sees her two parents walking close together, smiling and holding hands, she wedges herself neatly between them, breaking them apart before tugging Jimin forward.
Jungkook’s only a tiny bit irritated at being cockblocked by his own child. Jimin, on the other hand, can’t stop laughing when Jungkook decides to be petty and walks beside him again.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have asked her about it.” Jungkook mutters under his breath as they walk, Siwon holding Jimin’s hand tightly on the other side. She keeps glancing between them, checking whether Jungkook’s holding Jimin’s hand too.
“Sucks for you.” Jimin grins, unapologetic. “I’m enjoying it.”
“Babe, I can’t even hold your hand without mini-me supervising.” Jungkook jerks his chin toward their daughter, who immediately looks up at them again. “See? She’s staring.”
“Why are you whispering, Daddy?” Siwon scowls, clearly offended that the conversation doesn’t include her.
Yeah, he’s losing this competition.
“Okay, pumpkin!” Jimin lets go of her hand and bends down the moment they reach the glass doors. “We’re here! And your teacher’s here too.”
Siwon’s class teacher steps out to greet the kids one by one.
“Go have a fun day—”
“Seonsaengnim, look!” Siwon grabs Jimin’s ring hand and shoves it forward proudly. “He’s my Daddy Jimin! My Daddy bought the ring for him!”
Jimin freezes. Flustered, he gently pulls his hand back and offers the teacher a shy smile, bowing slightly out of habit.
“It’s a very beautiful ring, Siwon.” The teacher says warmly. “You must be really happy. Now let’s say goodbye and head inside, okay?”
The moment the teacher’s hands rest on her shoulders, Siwon’s face crumples again.
“You’ll pick me up, right?” She clings to Jimin’s leg with a pout. “I don’t want Daddy!” She adds, pointing straight at Jungkook.
“Hey—!” Meanwhile, Jungkook's taken aback.
“Yes, pumpkin. I’ll come fetch you today.” Jimin pinches her cheek fondly before pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “But you still have to give your other Daddy a kiss too.”
Jungkook crouches down immediately, arms wide open only for Siwon to turn her back on him and lean against his chest instead.
“Baby, come on.” Jungkook sighs dramatically. “Give Daddy some love too. You’ve been ignoring me all morning. I’m so sad.”
Right on cue, Siwon turns around with a grin and wraps her arms around him, planting a small peck on his cheek.
“That’s my girl.” Jungkook says, instantly pleased. “Go have fun at school.”
They wave goodbye with an endless stream of flying kisses until Siwon finally disappears from sight. What a way to start the morning. Jungkook lets out another sigh, half exhaustion, half relief because now he finally has Jimin to himself.
“This is what I have to put up with from now on?” He intertwines their fingers as they walk back to the car. “Here I thought dragging Siwon to school alone was torture. This is next level.”
“Okay, enough complaining.” Jimin stops by the car door and pulls Jungkook in an embrace, arms slipping around his neck as he leans close. “How about we take us to the next level?”
Jungkook’s eyes light up instantly. “You want a wedding tomorrow?”
“No, silly.” Jimin chuckles. “I was thinking… you could tattoo me? Like, your initials on my wrist?” He bites his lip, mischief dancing in his eyes.
It’s not like he needs an appointment when he’s literally sleeping with the boss. And it’d be quick too. Just two small letters—j and k. Jungkook could probably do it with his eyes closed.
“Ooh, I like that.” Jungkook hums, taking Jimin’s hand and rubbing his thumb over the inside of his wrist. “Right here, yeah? And I should get matching ones too. Your initials on my ring finger.”
“Mhm.” Jimin smiles. “I like that too.”
“Let’s do it today.” Jungkook says easily. “Come by after lunch?”
Jimin just hums before kissing his lips. “Okay.”
Right after Jimin’s done with work that afternoon, he heads straight down to the shop. Jungkook’s already tattooed the initials on his own finger, proudly snapping a picture to show him and emphasizing that he did it himself.

This will be Jimin’s first tattoo, one that actually means something. He’s never been into random, aesthetic ink. Sure, it looks nice, but if he’s going to sit through the pain of it, he wants it to be worth it. Something meaningful and not just pretty.
Jungkook clearly has a higher tolerance for it, considering the full sleeve climbing up his arm and shoulder. It suits him. Jimin can’t imagine having that many tattoos on himself. Just thinking about the buzzing needle prickling into his skin makes him feel faint.
But a small little j and k on his wrist? That makes him excited.
He’s already told Jungkook exactly how he wants it—EB Garamond, bold, the letters spaced apart instead of pressed together. Jungkook sent him a sample that morning, and Jimin has stared at it more times than he’s willing to admit.
When Jimin finally reaches the shop, they get straight to it. It’s hot seeing Jungkook slip into work mode, professional and focused, calmly explaining the whole procedure and how it’ll only take about ten minutes to finish. Jimin doesn’t understand half of it, but like every other client, he nods along and listens to every word.
“Don’t be nervous. You’re in good hands.” Jungkook says softly as he steadies Jimin’s wrist.
“I know I am.” Jimin scrunches his nose, that adorable little habit Jungkook loves. “I’m just worried about how it’ll feel.”
And Jungkook—his fiance, his artist—has to actively resist leaning forward and kissing him right there in the middle of the shop, surrounded by other patrons.
“I’ll go slow.” Jungkook says instead. “If it hurts, tell me. We’ll take a break.”
“That sounds familiar.” Jimin smirks, shooting him a very deliberate look.
Jungkook narrows his eyes. “Babe. Don’t test me. We might as well forget the tattoo and head to the break room.”
Jimin giggles, quickly pressing a finger to his lips to shush himself.
And just as promised, those ten minutes pass by quickly. Jimin hardly even remembers the pain, too busy answering Jungkook’s questions and chatting away like he always does. It doesn’t matter that they live under the same roof, there’s always something to talk about, and that’s what Jimin likes most. Even their silences feel full, padded with shared thoughts and familiar stories. One conversation always drifts naturally into another, and with Jungkook, it never feels dull.
“Alright, all done.” Jungkook carefully applies the second-skin bandage over Jimin’s wrist, sealing the tattoo beneath it. “It looks really pretty.”
“I really like it.” Jimin studies the tattoo for a moment, a soft smile spreading across his lips. “It’s cute.”
“Babe, you gotta wear the rubber gloves.” Jungkook says immediately when he sees Jimin turning on the tap.
Jimin has gotten so used to washing dishes with his bare hands that he almost forgets about the tattoo. Jungkook had warned him not to get it wet for the next few hours.
“I keep forgetting about having to keep it dry.” Jimin pulls on the gloves and starts scrubbing the plates.
It’s movie night again at the Jeons’, and Siwon hasn’t asked a single question about the tattoo. She’s definitely noticed the plaster on his wrist, but she was too distracted after their stop at the cafe and then the playground.
“Siwon, baby! Grab the popcorn.”
She shuffles over, making funny little noises with her mouth as she takes the bowl from Jungkook. Kneeling on the floor at the coffee table, she scrolls through the movie options on Netflix, fully absorbed with her single task for the night.
Jimin and Jungkook plop down on the couch behind her once everything is settled in the kitchen.
“Anything you like, pumpkin?” Jimin asks.
“I don’t know what I wanna watch yet…” Siwon hums, pausing her selection before scrolling again.
“You know…” Jungkook drapes his arm over the back of the couch and leans close to Jimin, whispering. “I wish Mpreg was real.”
Jimin shoots him a look.
“Imagine a mini us.” He continues, flicking an eyebrow with a smirk. “She’d be so cute. She’d have your eyes and your hair.”
“Well, I’m glad it’s not real.” Jimin says.
“Why not?”
“Knowing you…” Jimin bats his eyelashes innocently. “We’d be taking care of a football team.”
“And you’re damn right about that—ah!”
Jungkook winces as Jimin pinches his nipple. That’s what he gets for being playful right in front of his own biological daughter.
Siwon turns around after clicking onto a random animated movie, having overheard her daddies’ conversation.
She pauses, staring at Jimin before her gaze drops to the plaster on his wrist. Throwing herself onto his lap, she traces a finger over the bandage.
“What’s this, JK?”
“That’s your Daddy’s name, pumpkin. Jungkook. Pretty, right?”
Siwon holds his wrist, tilting her head this way and that as she inspects the ink. She hums thoughtfully. “It’s black. And small.”
Then she turns to Jungkook, glancing at his wrist. “Do you have one, Daddy?”
“Actually,” Jungkook says, proudly showing his hand. “I got Daddy Jimin’s initials right here. Even did it myself.”
“Where’s my name?” Siwon asks, blinking innocently.
“I was thinking of getting a stingray tattoo.” Jungkook says with a small grin. “Just a tiny one, to remind me of you.”
Siwon gasps. “That will be so cute! Daddy, can you do me too? I wanna have three stingrays on my arm!”
“You’re gonna have to wait, baby. When you’re a lot older.” Jungkook pinches her cheek. “You’re just a kid now. Kids don’t have tattoos.”
“Awww…”
“Kids are supposed to be fun, cute, and innocent. Just like you are now, pumpkin.” Jimin carries her to sit on his lap, peppering her face with quick kisses until she bursts into giggles. “Let’s watch this movie you picked.”
Jimin adjusts Siwon between them, popcorn balanced carefully in her lap so they all have easy access. His gaze drifts to the tattoo on his wrist, thumb tracing over the fresh initials as a quiet smile curves on his lips. The tiny thrill of permanence settles warm in his chest. This is his forever now.
He turns just in time to catch Jungkook already looking at him, tapping his chin lightly with a finger before giving him a wink. Such a small gesture, and yet it sends butterflies fluttering through Jimin’s stomach anyway.
And Jimin knows without a doubt, that this messy, loud, love-filled life is exactly where he’s meant to be.
This is home.
