Chapter Text
Book idea number one:
(Inspired by suicide by ren)
Mike is really struggling to accept himself, like, really struggling to the point where he is having suicidal thoughts and cutting himself
Mike and Will are on good terms but Will notices mike has been acting really weird, so they have a conversation about it
Will and Mike end up kissing, this leads Mike to have a mental breakdown and end up screaming at Will for "ruining his life" (he blames Will for him being gay and him not being able to love Jane so therefore also their breakup (Mike breaks up with Jane before this conversation either in or before the fic depending on how you wanna write it)) and tells him he "Hates him" and he "just wants him to get out of his life"
Will leaves and Mike cries in his room for a while until Nancy hears and comes in to have a chat with him
Mike realises how stupid he was and goes to Wills house to try and apologise
He finds a note in Wills room, it says he IS going to get out of Mike's life forever if that's what he really wants, its a suicide note, you can reveal this as Mike is reading it or keep it a secret Will is committing suicide until later
Mike runs to go and find Will, he gets there just in time to see Will jump
He runs down to the water to say sorry to will and that he just panicked and didn't mean anything he said Will asks if that means Mike doesn't hate him and Mike says he could never hate Will and that he loves him
Will says he loves Mike too and they kiss, Will dies in Mike's arms
Book idea number 2:
(Inspired by the ghost of you by MCR and Hayloft by Mother Mother)
Mike knows he is an asshole but he can't help it, his dad is pressuring him into being "normal" and having a girlfriend, in the rain fight most of the things he said "we're not kids anymore" comes from his dad (I also was inspired by a song here lol listen to numb by linkin park it really shows you how Mike is supposed to feel in this part of the fic)
Mike is haunted the whole fic by an incident before the fic when his dad saw 2 lesbians making out outside his house through the window, mike tries to hide them but his dad ends up seeing them, Mike is worried his dad will be super mean to them but he ends up getting a shot gun and shooting the one, the other gets away but ends up committing suicide shortly afterwards, he doesn't say anything because he has next to no proof and he's worried what his dad would do to him
The party come over to Mikes house for the dnd thing but afterwards everyone complains about missing Stacey's party so they decide to have their own party in Mikes basement or they go to the Staceys party but their super late
Will gets overwhelmed or Mike gets drunk but I think Will being overwhelmed works better, so they go back to Mikes house/upstairs and they end up kissing but just at that moment ted walks in
There's blood everywhere, Ted doesn't have a gun to hand so he beats them up and fueled with his anger he's surprisingly strong
Mike is seriously injured and so is Will, Will dies in mikes arms, Mike devotes the rest of his life to fighting for gay rights and never dates anyone ever again.
Or
Will goes to hospital and Mike sets up a gay rights campaign to fight to legalise gay marriage, he is told Will will die in a certain amount of time but just about manages to get the rights to marry him before he dies
Book idea 3:
(inspired by thankyou for the venom by MCR)
The upside-down and Vecna happens except Mike gets killed fighting the mind-flayer but his last words are awful, and they don't make much sense he turns to will and says this:
3477, homosexuality is an illness
Will hasn't come out as gay yet and is really hurt but doesn't understand the numbers, eventually he figures out its Mike's locker combination, inside is a song which is almost finished, the song is thankyou for the venom by MCR but we are going to pretend Mike wrote it
The chorus of the song is give me all your poison give me all your pills give me all your hopeless hearts and make me ill
MAKE ME ILL
Will now understands what Mike was saying, turns out Mike liked him back all along but its too late now :(
He performs it with Eddies band at graduation as a tribute to Mike
Book idea 4:
(no song inspo for this one sorry)
Any super cute romance story but at the end it is revealed that when Will disappeared he was actually never found and Mike made up the upside down and everything for a book he was writing/ as a coping mechanism
That's all my sad book ideas but I do have an idea for a scene that's super sad:
Mike/ Will is dead so the one that survived sets up a campaign and goes to their grave for a one shot with the rest of the party the alive one rolls for the dead one and pretends their actually a part of the game
