Work Text:
The door swung open with a click, not loud enough to wake up the average person, but just enough for Chi Cheng, who had just downed enough pills to tranquillise a horse but couldn't get his eyes to close the way he wanted them to.
Like it had wronged him personally, he glared at the sliver of offending light peeking through the gap under his door. It didn't take much for his ears to pick up the muffled giggles of Suowei and the heavy-footed steps of his companion making their way to his bedroom adjacent to Chi Cheng's.
Probably a little tipsy too, Suowei was never good at holding his liquor, especially after an outing to the club.
Through their paper thin walls, though he's usually asleep by this part, he heard the sounds of them making out, a thud of what he presumed were clothes landing on the floor and Suowei trying his best to suppress the noises he'd made.
It wasn't long before a sick curiosity took control of his lizard brain almost as instantly as it appeared, his imagination further fuelled by the cries, groans and the symphony of wet skin slapping together, any semblance of an attempt at volume control completely obliterated.
What on earth was he imagining?
Chi Cheng blushed, darting up from bed to hastily grab his earphones and plug his eardrums. In his defence, it had been a long time since his ex-girlfriend…but that was not an appropriate thing to be thinking about in these circumstances.
Suowei had been his best friend since childhood for god's sake, whatever was happening next door was the least of his business.
But he couldn't help the way his mind raced with each minute passing, the bile rising in his throat, his stomach tossing and turning.
The next morning, he trudged into the kitchen, the dark eye circles on his face a bleak aftermath of losing yet another night to his thoughts.
To his surprise, there's someone casually rummaging through their refrigerator. The white tank top their burglar was wearing didn't leave much of the muscle in his back to the imagination, matched with a pair of shorts that fit in a way that told Chi Cheng it was several sizes too small. Probably Suowei's, though something about that idea rubbed Chi Cheng the wrong way.
It's weird that he's around Chi Cheng's height too. Not that he'd been meaning to notice, but Suowei seemed to have a particular type with the men he chose. At least from the ones he had awkward early morning encounters with, all of them seemed to have the same characteristics—jet black hair, big hands and a significant height difference from Wu Suowei.
He tried not to dwell too much on that observation. Whatever his friend enjoyed in bed had nothing to do with him.
Determined not to be noticed, Chi Cheng attempted to make his morning coffee as discreetly as he could. As soon as he got his fill of caffeine, everything in the world would feel right again. Or so he figured.
To his dismay, the ancient piece of machinery beeped, before filling his cup as loudly as it could. Dang it, of all days!
Cringing, Chi Cheng facepalmed. Please don't turn around, please don't turn around, please don't turn around, he prayed fervently, running through every single deity he knew in his head.
His hopes were immediately crushed, as soon as the guy did exactly that.
"Xiao Wei didn't mention he had a housemate! I'm Wang Zhen, what's your name?" The guy gave him a boyish smile, offering a handshake of goodwill.
Xiao Wei? Didn't this guy know Suowei hated being called that?
Chi Cheng took two looks at the hand, still not extending his own. There was nothing that said he had to get along with Suowei's hookups.
"I'm Chi Cheng."
"Hey! That was the name Xiao Wei—"
Abruptly, like he'd been summoned, Wu Suowei came flying out of the blue, shoving his palm straight over the guy's mouth.
"Sorry for disturbing you, he's leaving…now!" Suowei shot Chi Cheng an apologetic look, dragging Wang Zhen by the ear using his free hand.
Raising an eyebrow, Chi Cheng surveyed the scene from the kitchen as Suowei hauled Wang Zhen to the living room.
"I was just trying to be friendly!" The man argued while Suowei tried his utmost to shove him out the front door.
And it all seemed fairly normal, until Wang Zhen pulled Suowei in for a kiss.
Right in front of Chi Cheng.
In that split second, he felt his heart constrict in his chest, a visceral emotion he couldn't begin to describe swelling to the surface. He was starting to not like this Wang Zhen very much.
"Hey!" Suowei complained bashfully, pushing him off as his ears turned red. The same way they always did when he felt flustered.
Wang Zhen grinned again, a hand sneakily climbing down to Suowei's ass.
What was his problem?
The heat of an inexplicable but familiar rage, bubbled like molten lava, threatening to spill over like a volcanic eruption.
Crash! The ceramic cup he'd been holding tumbled to the floor, the shards of his favourite cup in the midst of the brown puddle decorating the floor of their kitchen. It doesn't help that this conveniently exposed the spot he'd been watching them from.
"Cheng!" Suowei called out from the other end of the room, rushing to his aid. "Are you okay?"
Chi Cheng swallowed, nodding to assure Suowei. Internally though, he'd never been so confused in his life.
Worst still, there was now a mess to clean.
And he wasn't entirely sure whether he meant the storm brewing in his head or the one on the ground.
The second time it happened, Chi Cheng had arrived back home much earlier than expected.
Having finished his work for the day, he headed to their apartment, heavily anticipating the look on Suowei's face when he realised they could finish binge-watching the new season of the drama they'd started together.
Humming merrily, he punched in their door code, strolling in with his work bag in tow.
"Hey Weiwei, we can finish..."
The words died in his throat, not a sound leaving his lips when he caught sight of Suowei, most definitely almost naked, straddling a shirtless Wang Zhen. Furiously making out on the couch, Suowei's fingers were laced in his hair while Wang Zhen's hands all over his torso. They were so caught up in each other they almost didn't notice his presence.
Almost.
"Um—" Chi Cheng floundered intelligently, dumbstruck.
Suowei's entire body flushed red so fast, extending all the way to his ears. It was actually quite impressive, if not for the rising feeling of revulsion threatening to upchuck Chi Cheng's lunch. Smug, Wang Zhen just continued mouthing at Suowei's chest and neck, even as Suowei frantically pushed his head away.
"Cheng! I—"
Before he could finish, Chi Cheng marched to his room as brisk as he could, purposely avoiding eye contact all the way. He closed his door with such urgency that it slammed loudly, his chest heaving as his trembling hands struggled with the lock.
Yet, all that plagued in his mind was the idea that they were going to have to talk about this sometime soon. He couldn't hide in his room forever, just maybe for the rest of today and for the first half of the next.
"Chengyu, I think I'm homophobic."
Chi Cheng laid boneless on Chengyu's sofa, the man busying himself preparing a five course meal in preparation for his boyfriend about to head home from the clinic. It wasn't often Chi Cheng had time off work and since he couldn't look one of his best friends in the face after the revelation he had, he decided to confide in his next best option.
Okay, that wasn't exactly the way he had wanted to approach this, but he had no other choice. Right now, all he needed was hard-hitting advice and hopefully verbal abuse so merciless his brain stopped whatever bigoted nonsense it decided to come up with next.
"Dude."
Chengyu stared, his movements stilling instantly.
"All your friends are gay."
Lifting a hand, he began listing at the top of his lungs, "Suowei's gay, I'm gay, Xiaoshuai's gay, Wang Shuo's gay…"
They sit, silent as Chengyu contemplated for a moment longer, four fingers in the air.
"You don't have anymore friends, do you?"
"Asshole!" Chi Cheng hissed, but also didn't bother denying. Xiao Cubao would count as more of a friend than Wang Shuo to be honest, but he wasn't going to bother correcting Chengyu for now.
"Where did this train of thought come from anyway?" Chengyu asked, jumping back into action to begin plating his dishes.
"It's Suowei…" Chi Cheng sighed, running a hand through his hair, "He's been bringing guys home and it was fine at first…until yesterday, when I caught him making out with one of then and I felt like I had to go to the bathroom and throw up."
At that juncture, Chengyu let out a noise that sounded like he was either trying really hard not to laugh, or had just been sucker-punched in the stomach. And it didn't take rocket science to know which.
Chi Cheng couldn't help but feel affronted. His entire friendship with Weiwei hinged on this! There was absolutely nothing comedic about the dilemma he had just presented.
It earned Chengyu a glare, that he uttered a soft "Sorry, please continue," to, before going back to setting the table in preparation for dinner. Tilting his body, he made sure Chi Cheng knew that he was still listening.
"And it wasn't only that time either. Whenever they touched, I felt irrationally angry. Like I really wanted to punch the other guy," Chi Cheng said matter-of-factly, like he was talking about the weather.
"There might be something wrong with me."
Chengyu cleared his throat. "In my humble opinion, there are in fact, several things that are wrong with you."
Like he had suspected, Guo Chengyu was useless, still having the audacity to laugh at the offence painted all over Chi Cheng's face.
"But you've known about Suowei and I since early middle school, and you've always been fine hanging around us. Maybe you should talk to him about this and set some boundaries if you're uncomfortable? Communication works wonders." He said dreamily, probably thinking about his relationship with Xiaoshuai.
Ugh, okay, maybe not that useless.
Chi Cheng's mind flashed to a year or two ago, roughly when they'd begun cohabiting.
Back in school, it had always been the two of them joined at the hip, Suowei quick to scurry after Chi Cheng after the other boy had stepped in to protect him from an unfortunate encounter with some bullies back in elementary school.
So he'd been more than happy to take the burden of paying half the lease of Suowei's new apartment when his roommate had decided to bail last minute.
Just like that, their friendship had been taken to a whole new level, a cozy domestic routine that Chi Cheng found himself more than happy to immerse in. After work, he would come home to Suowei cooking dinner for them both, while Chi Cheng did the washing up and helped with the other chores. Sometimes, they would even indulge in a movie marathon or two, where Suowei remained glued to his side the whole time, using his hands as shields to hide behind whenever he needed.
And sure, they cuddled and stuff, but Suowei had always known he was straight, and he never expressed any discomfort because they were doing it as friends.
Of course, the time they spent together had dwindled when Suowei had started the whole bringing guys home thing, but Chi Cheng was fairly sure nothing had changed.
Suowei still clung to him like a koala whenever they watched the horror movies Chi Cheng put on. He still had a horrible taste in film, having a penchant to choose only from a selected catalogue of Marvel movies he claimed were "the peak of cinema". He still fell asleep at exactly three in the morning, tucked snugly into Chi Cheng's side under the blanket they shared.
Yet, Chi Cheng couldn't even begin to reconcile the ugly feeling in his heart each time he saw Suowei with someone new in their shared apartment, the sounds he heard that night and each kiss he witnessed with that bastard Wang Zhen.
The sound of Xiaoshuai entering the room anchored him back to reality, the other man dashing straight for Chengyu's arms. They embraced, Xiaoshuai on his tiptoes to give Chengyu a peck on the cheek.
When Xiaoshuai finally acknowledged his presence on the couch, he just gave Chi Cheng an awkward small wave in greeting, a little confused.
Silently, Chengyu and him communicated with their eyes for a bit, before he went to their bedroom to wash up, content to leave the two friends a few moments of levity to continue their talk in private.
"So did you feel disgust or anything from that?" Chengyu questioned lightly.
How could he be so relaxed when Chi Cheng was on the verge of a nervous breakdown?
Chi Cheng shook his head. Fortunately (or not), the answer was no. He didn't feel anything at that moment, just the same lingering bitterness at the fact he'd been single for over six months now. Not a single homophobic thought that came to mind.
Chengyu sighed, stalking over. "If this is what I think it is, you might be on your own here bud."
Now, what kind of bullshit was that?
Chi Cheng was about to protest, when Xiaoshuai emerged from the room all freshened up and before he knew it, he was being escorted to the door.
"Just do what you think is right!" Chengyu said firmly, but not unkindly, the same time he extended a a gentle hand to push him out.
"Wha—" The door closed in his face, leaving him with nothing but even more befuddlement.
When he got home that night, Suowei was already waiting for him, nervously twiddling his thumbs like a child put in timeout. The moment Chi Cheng stepped in, he called out for him, frowning in consternation.
"Cheng, I'm really sorry you had to see that…I know you're probably really upset but I want to assure you that we didn't do anything on the couch and I cleaned it myself," Suowei rambled, a tone of remorse accompanying the pure sorrow in his eyes.
Slowly, Chi Cheng nodded, about to say something in response, when Suowei cut in again, more cheerful this time.
"We'll be more careful next time I promise, no more stuff in the living room—"
Next time? There was going to be more of whatever this was? What could he possibly be seeing in this Wang Zhen guy anyway?
"No." Chi Cheng growled, his brain-to-mouth filter completely lost to the intense fury rearing its head in his chest, his voice coming out harsher than he wanted. "Do you know how uncomfortable you're making me feel? This is my apartment too, but you keep bringing these guys back and it's disgusting—"
No, no, no, this wasn't what he meant, what the hell was he spewing?
He couldn't take the words back, helpless as Suowei's face crumbled, utterly and unmistakeably hurt. His voice comes out softer, wavering at the edges, "You think I'm disgusting?"
The damage had been done. But he could still fix this, if he apologised, if he just clarified, he didn't mean—
"No, that's not what I meant. I..I don't have a problem with you being gay! It's just might be better if you did these things somewhere else…" Chi Cheng said, wincing the moment it escaped his mouth.
Like he'd somewhat expected, instead of smoothing things over, Suowei had just gotten even more outraged, his eyes narrowing in indignation.
"Okay and what about your ex? I had to tolerate stuff like that last year too! You could barely keep your hands off each other, who are you to talk?" Suowei retorted, fists clenched so hard his knuckles were turning white. He didn't even seem sad anymore, just frustrated and disappointed.
"Weiwei—" Chi Cheng began, slightly panicked, only to be shot a glare so cold and irate, it chilled him to the bone, his mouth sealed shut.
"Don't call me that," Suowei snapped, tears welling up in his eyes, "I can't believe you're acting like such a jerk. I'm leaving right now to give you some space. If you don't call me by the end of this week, I'm moving out."
Suowei sprinted to his room, not before snatching his phone sitting by the table and beginning to text furiously. Chi Cheng bet an arm and a leg it was Wang Zhen, which made him feel even more terrible than before.
Before long, he heard a soft click of the door from the living room, a sound that echoed in the recesses of his mind. Like he was in a fugue state, every single micro-expression of Suowei's, every single thing he'd replied cycled endlessly through his head.
What on earth had he done?
"What did you do," Xiaoshuai demanded bluntly, in that tone Chi Cheng never thought he would be on the receiving end of.
The call had come in not more than two days after Suowei had stormed out of their apartment. It felt empty, the gloomy atmosphere not doing any favours for Chi Cheng, who wanted nothing more than to mope about.
There was no Suowei flitting about from place to place, pestering Chi Cheng to rave about a new reality show he'd just caught up on. There was no Suowei perpetually passed out on the couch with their throw pillows in constant disarray, the blanket he used draped neatly over the length of the couch. There was no Suowei he could talk and laugh with after a long day at work, just a hollow shell of an apartment once brimming with life.
"Why're you asking when he's literally hiding out at your house?" Chi Cheng asked, completely given up on defending himself, misery seeping into every word.
From the other end of the line, Xiaoshuai sighed. "Somehow, I think Chengyu and I have your little problem figured out so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Explain yourself so I can help you guys mediate…whatever this is."
"Okay, so I've been thinking for a while now that I'm probably homophobic," Chi Cheng paused, awaiting some kind of reaction from the doctor.
"I heard from Chengyu," The voice supplied helpfully, "You're definitely not that, so let's just focus on one thing at a time."
"This disgust, anger or whatever, is it usually directed at Suowei, the guys he's with, or just his sex life in general?"
"I would never feel that way about Weiwei," Chi Cheng said, steadfast and earnest.
"And I don't think it's his sex life I'm envious of either, I could probably get into a relationship right now if I were looking, it's just I haven't really gotten over—"
"Stop using Yue Yue as an excuse." The words come rapid-fire from the other end of the line. "She was terrible. You know it. I know it. Heck, Suowei hated her, he just didn't want to tell you."
Chi Cheng pursed his lips. He wasn't wrong, she'd practically been cheating on him a month into their relationship. Now, he can't help but feel just a little terrible about all the times Suowei had been forced to put up with her the few months they'd been dating.
Out of nowhere, he heard Xiaoshuai audibly inhale, as if he was bracing himself before blurting out, "You know…before I got together with Chengyu, I used to be really jealous of you."
Chi Cheng's jaw dropped, taken aback by the sudden confession.
"Back in university, you guys hung out all the time and all I saw was the man I had a huge crush on spending time with someone that wasn't me. It made me feel sick, or even frustrated at times," Xiaoshuai continued without giving Chi Cheng time to react, like he was trying to get him to gradually connect the dots himself.
"You're not saying—? I-I'm—"
"Jealous?" Xiaoshuai suggested gently, leaving no room for doubt this time.
Oh.
Oh.
Everything made sense now.
The deep sense of intimacy he'd never felt with another person.
The way he hung on to every word Suowei said.
The way his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest when Suowei so much as smiled at him.
The way his nerves came alight when Suowei sat curled up against him when there was definitely ample space for them to sit separately.
"Cheng, you won't be able to cuddle me anymore when I get a boyfriend!" He recalled Suowei joking once, the teasing expression on his face faltering slightly when Chi Cheng didn't even crack a smile, his guts churning at the thought of Suowei in the arms of another man.
He was an oblivious idiot.
An idiot who's pretty much been head-over-heels for his childhood friend this entire time.
"Chi Cheng, are you good?" The static crackled through his phone, Xiaoshuai's concern derailing his train of thought.
"Yeah," Chi Cheng breathed into his phone, "Is Suowei with you right now?"
To Chi Cheng's suprise, it really doesn't take that much for him to accept the feelings he has for Suowei. Loving him came as naturally, as easy as breathing. Like he'd suddenly activated a part of himself he never knew he had within himself.
At the same time, his palms were sweating profusely the entire drive over to Chengyu and Xiaoshuai's place, desperately thinking of something to say, of a way to sound as sincere as he could possibly be.
Just because he suddenly professed his undying love for Suowei, it didn't necessarily mean his feelings would be reciprocated, or he would be forgiven.
Worse still, he didn't think he could stay just Suowei's friend, watching him meet the love of his life and slowly drifting further from Chi Cheng as time passed. Chi Cheng would rather sell all his snakes than watch him flirt with someone else again.
At the very least, he wanted to apologise for the hurtful things he'd said.
He burst into their apartment with all the grace of a bull in a China shop, nearly toppling Xiaoshuai's precious bookshelf in the process.
"He's inside," Xiaoshuai gestured while Chengyu carefully adjusted each book to optimal position, shooting Chi Cheng a glare with each one he'd picked up.
Chi Cheng strode over to the room before he could regret it. The door swung open to Suowei, rivulets of water dripping from his hair, evidently having just finished his shower.
A single droplet cascaded down his Adam's apple down to the neck of his shirt, exposing his pale collarbones from how loose it was.
Oh, how the universe was testing him.
Even when he scrunched his face in confusion, Chi Cheng couldn't help but find him adorable.
"What are you doing here?" Suowei avoided eye contact, not even willing to look at Chi Cheng in light of their argument.
Hands fidgeting at his sides, Chi Cheng didn't waste a single second.
"I'm sorry for being a dick. I said some really cruel things that I didn't mean just to hurt you. It was wrong of me and I won't make any excuses for what I've done."
He watched Suowei's shoulders relax, the tension lifted from the room. It was a signal as good as any to move closer, shifting off his place at the doorframe to sit closer to him on the bed.
"It's okay," he heard Suowei sniffle out, his chest aching at the idea that he'd made Suowei cry.
Tentatively, he pulled Suowei close, attempting to comfort him, the latter desperately trying to pretend that there weren't literal tears streaming down his cheeks.
When he calmed down, Suowei remained in Chi Cheng's lap, dabbing at his eyes with the tissues he'd been handed.
"I never thought you would apologise first, you're always so stubborn about these kinds of things…and I guess the emotions just overwhelmed me at once," Suowei explained bashfully, the first smile on his face since they'd seen each other that night.
Chi Cheng wanted to kiss him, to shower him with so much love he never doubted how much treasured their friendship or whatever they decided to do next.
He breathed in deeply.
He couldn't chicken out now.
"Weiwei, the real reason I said all those weird things was because I was jealous." The statement escaped his mouth, every hair on his body standing on end as Suowei stiffened in his arms.
Before Chi Cheng could find it in himself to feel any regret, the words continued tumbling out, his face burning up, blood pounding at his ears. The adrenaline pumping through his veins was the only thing fuelling the verbal unravelling of his thoughts, growing more incoherent by the second.
"I hated seeing you with those other guys and I wished it could be me you were with. I almost puked that time I saw you and Wang Zhen together and it made me think I was homophobic or something. But today, I realised that I love you too much to be normal with other guys flirting with you, being affectionate—"
Suowei shut him up mid-sentence, hastily cupping his face to press a kiss to his lips.
Chi Cheng's stunned at first, frozen still for a split second before beginning to respond just as feverishly. Suowei's lips were mind-numbingly soft, the kiss a frantic, rhythmic yearning that Chi Cheng craved.
It was far from perfect, the angle a little awkward, but the taste of Suowei, the heat radiating from the closeness of their bodies, the breathless, sweet sounds coaxed out his lips made Chi Cheng feel like he was floating.
Before he could think of deepening the kiss, Suowei pulled back. He heaved, letting out a chortle that was equal part happiness and disbelief.
"You have no idea how long I've waited," Suowei whispered, "I've been in love with you since we were thirteen." Flustered, he buried his face in the crook of Chi Cheng's neck, fingers clinging to his back for purchase.
"This whole time I thought you were straight, and my feelings were forever going to be unrequited," Suowei's voice warbled, another nervous giggle bubbling up in his throat. "And the worse part was never being able to get over you, no matter what I tried."
Without hesitation, Chi Cheng tightened his hands around Suowei's waist, planting a kiss on the crown of his head.
"I'm sorry for being slow, I promise I'll make it up to you Baobei."
A small beam bloomed on Suowei's face. So radiant, so pretty that all Chi Cheng could think of was him.
But Chi Cheng just needed one more question answered, just to satiate his curiosity.
"Were you and Wang Zhen ever together?"
To that, Suowei gagged, "No way!"
"This," his eyes train on Chi Cheng's expression, a finger circling his heart, before pointing straight at Chi Cheng, "has always been yours."
Chi Cheng couldn't believe his luck. He must've saved a nation in his past life to deserve such a beautiful force of a man in this one.
"Kiss me again Cheng," Suowei ordered, leaning in close as he snaked his hands behind Chi Cheng's neck.
Never one to disobey his Weiwei, Chi Cheng acquiesced to the demand, meeting Suowei's lips with his own.
It started off chaste, until he let Suowei take control, pliant as Suowei's tongue prodded at his lips, as he tugged on his hair, pulling him impossible closer. Chi Cheng's lips part, the whole thing turning exponentially sloppier, Suowei breathing him in like oxygen.
In turn, his hands begin to wander, mapping Suowei's body like uncharted territory, cataloguing every feather-light touch that made Suowei squirm, made him moan into Chi Cheng's mouth, made him grind down on Chi Cheng's semi, so eager to be devoured.
Just as Chi Cheng began to paw at his shirt, Suowei's fingertips gliding to undo the buttons, the door slammed on its hinges with a bang.
Understandably panicked, Suowei instinctively pushed Chi Cheng away, trying to put some distance between them both.
His eyes darted wildly where Xiaoshuai and Chengyu stood in the hallway, peeking in without a single trace of subtlety.
Undeterred by the interruption, Chi Cheng just shamelessly kept his hands on Suowei's bare waist, the vice grip preventing him from moving off completely. The resulting glare he got was more than worth it.
"Ew," Xiaoshuai deadpanned, studying them both from head to toe judgmentally.
They must've made quite the scene, their clothes dishevelled, hair mussed up, lips swollen and spit-slicked.
In response, Suowei made what could only be described as a a sound of pure distress, the sheer embarrassment making him want to throw himself off a building.
"So you're all good now?" Chengyu asked, leaning against the door.
Chi Cheng rolled his eyes with a smile, already somewhat predicting what Chengyu was going to say just from the shit-eating grin on his face.
"Better than good, judging by how hard you guys were going at it—!" He added, ducking with a chuckle just as Suowei flung a pillow at his face, beyond mortified.
Before they both left the room, Chengyu turned around like he had one final thing to say.
"You guys can sleep here tonight."
There's no way that was all he—
"But no funny business, alright? I would not recommend starting a new relationship with sex right away— "
Ah, there it was.
Next to Chi Cheng, Suowei flushed scarlet, his hand gripping onto another pillow that he lobbed straight at Chengyu, the door closing before it could hit its intended target.
What a shame.
As ridiculous as this all felt, Chi Cheng couldn't help but let out a little chuckle. He got up, picking up the discarded pillow before gravitating back to bed, back to Suowei.
"They're never going to shut up about this, are they?" Suowei mumbled, settling himself into Chi Cheng's arms comfortably.
"Nope," Chi Cheng answered serenely, a small smile tugging at his lips. "But I would have rather confessed today than have to live the rest our lives as just friends."
He heard a sharp intake of breath, Suowei's hand intertwining with his own, the other wrapping around his back to pull him closer.
"Look at you, Mr Romantic." Suowei teased, his breath hot on the crook of Chi Cheng's neck, "I still can't believe you thought you were homophobic."
They both let out a laugh, nervous and giddy with excitement.
There was just one more thing Chi Cheng had to do, his heart thrumming in his ribcage.
"Weiwei?"
"Hm?" Suowei hummed against his skin.
"Can I be your boyfriend?"
Suowei nodded, giggling as he leaned forward, kissing him one more time to seal the deal.
In theory, Chi Cheng knew how gay sex worked. Probably something to do with his unrestricted internet access as a child, or the fact all his friends turned out to be gay. Even better, the prettiest of them all had become his boyfriend after he finally pulled his head out of his ass.
Before long, their first month anniversary rolled around, and the two of them, after not having much time to themselves were content to just laze around the house together, Chi Cheng even suggesting a movie marathon for old times' sake.
To Chi Cheng's confusion, instead of putting on a random Spider-man movie like he usually did, Suowei decided to pick the very first thing that had been recommended by their television, some cheesy rom-com with a plot Chi Cheng knew for a fact he didn't care for.
"I thought you said you didn't like rom-coms—" Chi Cheng pondered out loud, abruptly being shushed by Suowei as the movie began.
He did try to pay attention at first to the slow beginning of the movie where the male lead creepily leered at his female counterpart, a scene that dragged so much uncomfortably longer than it had to. Until about halfway in, his eyes started to flutter shut and he knew it wasn't a viable option. Instead, he swivelled his head to Suowei, marvelling at the glimpse he caught.
In the shrouded darkness of their living room, the dim glow of the screen illuminated Suowei's features perfectly, the focus in his eyes, the slender bridge of his nose, his rosy, pouting mouth. The loose black shirt he wore—one of Chi Cheng's— just about covered the top of his creamy white thighs, painting a pretty contrast that had Chi Cheng salivating.
Suowei looked ethereal, and Chi Cheng couldn't find it in himself to invest any attention in whatever they were watching when he had such a tantalising sight right in front of him. His throat was dry, hands clammy with anticipation, each glance at the sliver of skin exposed had him throbbing with desire, with the need to pull Suowei into his lap to kiss him senseless—
At that juncture, the characters onscreen began making out passionately, sensual, romantic music blasting through the speakers.
Suowei met his gaze, lips curling in a sly smirk. His eyes trailed down to the visible bulge in Chi Cheng's sweatpants, licking his lips imperceptibly. Chi Cheng's breath hitched, immediately crowding Suowei against the back of their couch.
"You're doing this on purpose," Chi Cheng murmured lowly, his teeth nipping playfully on the the shell of Suowei's ears where he knew he was particularly sensitive. Suowei groaned needily at the sensation, losing control as his hips jerked against Chi Cheng's thigh.
The movie continued in the background, neither of them paying it any mind. Through the thin shirt, Chi Cheng rubbed patterns into the side of his waist soothingly, feeling the imprint of Suowei's erection, hot, throbbing and searing into his skin.
Then, without warning, Suowei flipped their positions, Chi Cheng pinned underneath him in one fluid motion. The movement elicited a small gasp from Chi Cheng, though he wasn't frozen for long, taking the chance to interlock their lips. Their tongues glided in tandem, Suowei latching and sucking on his bottom lip before he pulled away with a wet pop.
"Cheng," Suowei whined breathily, "I want you inside me."
Oh god, Weiwei was going to be the death of him.
He guided Chi Cheng's hand downward, stripping off the shirt in the meanwhile to reveal the bare skin underneath. Until Suowei, Chi Cheng had never thought of cocks as beautiful. But something about his boyfriend's slender, peachy-red member, glossy sheen of pre-cum steadily oozing from the slit, had him salivating, so desperate to touch.
Without warning, he sunk his fingers into the tender flesh of Suowei's cheek, kneading and groping like a man starved, swallowing each tender whimper in yet another kiss. In his sweatpants, he was so hard it was starting to ache, certain that a wet stain had begun to form in his boxers.
Grinning against his mouth, Suowei shifted off to undulate his hips, once, twice, ripping heated moans from the depths of both their throats. His hands traced every inch, every plane of Chi Cheng's body, gliding gracefully to Chi Cheng's boxers to finally pull them down. Suowei drooled at the sight of his straining cock pulling free, already dripping at full mast, the size of it sparking awe within him each time.
"So big," he purred, palming, stroking slowly, his thumb dragging on the slick head of his dick.
Suowei sank down, taking Chi Cheng into his mouth without hesitation. It induced some gagging, tears beginning to bead at the corner of his eyes from the way his thick cock hit the back of his throat. With a shaky gasp, Chi Cheng's back bowed off the sofa, fingers twisting in the couch cushions.
A man on a mission, Suowei laved his tongue over the slit, a molar scraping gently along the veins of his shaft. Chi Cheng gripped onto Suowei's shoulders, his balls drawn tight, pleasure burning him up like a wildfire, unpredictable and unrestrained.
Seemingly satisfied by his reaction, Suowei continued bobbing his head, his fingers pumping from the base to the length he couldn't reach. Holy fucking shit, Chi Cheng felt the coil in his stomach snap, so close to—
Mind clouded, he hauled Suowei upwards, his palms settling on his waist, heart thundering in his chest.
Concern etched all over his features, Weiwei tilted his head. "Are you okay? Do you want to stop?"
"No!" Chi Cheng shouted, a little too desperate, his cheeks reddening.
His worry dissipated instantly, Suowei smirked, a sight that did horrible things to Chi Cheng's stomach.
He had never had sex with a man before, but now all he craved was seeing Suowei come undone on his cock, to bury himself deep within that warm heat, to paint his insides white with his release, to finally make him his.
"Weiwei," Chi Cheng groaned, "Please let me fuck you."
Suowei let out a cry in response, body rocking forward to chase the friction between them. He pressed his mouth to Chi Cheng's, giving him a chaste peck on the lips before finally moving off to grab lube.
Before long, he returned, lathering some on his fingers. Chi Cheng stared, rapt with attention as Suowei slowly inserted a finger in himself, the first going in relatively easy. He wished he could take a picture of this very moment, capturing the flutter of his eyelashes, his mouth hanging open, his body writhing with pleasure from the intrusion.
One became two and two soon turned to three, the initial resistance from his body crumbling completely.
Overwhelmed, their lips clashed together this time, Suowei open-mouthed and panting into Chi Cheng's mouth as he rode his fingers. And when he finally deemed himself ready, he wasted no time, lining himself up perfectly.
"Ngh—Cheng—!" Suowei moaned as he sank down, inch by devastating inch at first before he finally took him all the way in one go.
Even with preparation, he was still so tight, the warm heat of his ass was practically squeezing, sucking Chi Cheng's cock in deeper, the pressure pressing hard on his insides. Suowei whimpered, fingers scrabbling at his chest to steady himself.
The couch creaked each time Suowei's hips rolled downwards, each time he rocked back and forth, each brush to his prostrate travelling straight to his own hard-on. Before he lifted himself, he shuddered, letting out little gasps as the head of Chi Cheng's dick caught at his rim.
With each descent, Chi Cheng groaned his name, fingertips still digging deep into Suowei's skin. The half-moon indents of his nails lingered, along with a small swell of reverence under his skin, meeting each grind of Suowei's hips with a thrust of his own.
"Cheng—h-harder!" Suowei sobbed, his hole clamping down on the unyielding length throbbing deep within him.
Just like that, Chi Cheng's sheathed himself to the hilt, coming so hard and fast he'd sworn his vision had whited out for a second. Hot ribbons of come spurted inside Suowei as he rode Chi Cheng through the orgasm, his own cresting at the edge from the way his cock pulsated furiously, still red and hard.
Just for Chi Cheng.
Hissing from oversensitivity, Chi Cheng pistoned his hips through the aftershocks, deliberately dragging over the spot that made Suowei's eyes roll. With his remaining strength, he began to stroke him from the front, his fingers tight and firm.
“Cheng—!” Suowei came with a scream to the torturous rhythm. Tears streamed down his face, his muscles spasming, inner walls constricting around Chi Cheng's soft cock. Thick ropes of white spilled from his cock as Chi Cheng tugged at it relentlessly, milking every last bit of cum he could.
His chest heaving, Suowei instantly collapsed into a heap, his pupils blown.
This left Chi Cheng to pull out, watching as his cum slowly oozed down his thighs, the obscene sight sparking another heat coiled within his gut. Though judging by Suowei's exhaustion, he probably needed another minute to catch his breath.
Gently moving his fringe, now matted with sweat, Chi Cheng dropped a kiss on his forehead.
"Could we go again…in bed this time?" He implored, whispering in Suowei's ear.
Weiwei just smiled, smug as he clambered back onto Chi Cheng's lap.
"Carry me," he said, nuzzling their faces together when Chi Cheng lifted him obediently.
They headed to their bedroom, the television in their living room entirely abandoned.
