Truth or Kiss

Summary:

On their nightshift Tim and Lucy play a game of truth or dare, but they get a bit carried away.

Work Text:

“Chen, you still awake?”

“Yep barely,” she yawns, “I was not prepared for today’s nightshift.”

Tim chuckles as he stops the car in a parking spot. They were both hungry as hell and luckily they bought some food from the store. He pulled out a ham and cheese panini and of course Lucy held her cheeseburger and fries with extra pickles which she ate a little too much of.

The pair had not arrested a single person in the night, just running round the neighbourhoods bored out of their minds. Tim is thanking himself for asking to have Lucy as his aide for the nightshifts especially, he loves having endless conversations about the most random topics.

“So. Truth or dare?” She bursts out whilst chewing on half a pickle which fell out of the sandwich.

“Seriously. Truth or dare?.” He mocks her, but he would end up going along with it anyway knowing how much she loves playing games in the shop on their breaks. Truth or dare is a new one though.

“Okay fine.” He grins, “Are we seriously becoming middle schoolers again?”

“Yes we certainly are!” She smiles, taking pleasure in his tone. She loves to mess around with him and play pranks on him. It might even be her favourite thing to do. “You first.”

“Truth or dare?” He asks as he finishes the panini with eloquence. The stars glow into the shop as well as the lights in the car which were dim, so he could only just make out the smaller features of her face. Lucy beamed up at him, when she finished the burger, placing the wrapping onto the dashboard.

“Hmm…truth.” The safe option. Well most would think it was, but for these two both were just as dangerous.

He nodded, taking a couple of seconds to look into the distance from the window and turning to grin at her.

“When you take Kojo for walks when I’m not in, what do you really feed him?” Tim asked with a smile spreading wide across his face. He felt so…relaxed with her. Like he could say anything and not feel judged.

“Um.” She makes a sheepish face. “Y’know dog food and meat and maybe sometimes he gets a treat of chocolate cake.” Lucy laughs, bringing one leg up on the seat and hugging it cutely.

“Oh yeah, sometimes.” He replied.

Lucy gives him a fake annoyed look and speaks again. “My turn! Truth or dare Tim?”

“Dare”

“I dare you to get out of the car and go into the passenger seat.”

Tim frowned at her, “Can I pass questions,” knowing full well he won’t let her, but it’s worth a shot.

“Nice try. I guess that means I need to go into the driver's seat huh.” She is already opening the car door and stepping out.

Tim bites his cheek to hold in a smile. He slowly drags himself out of the car and gets into the passenger seat which he is unfamiliar with. When Lucy closes the door, she caresses her hands gently over the steering wheel and makes an obvious sigh.

“Happy?” He grimaces.

Lucy turns to him once more. “Very.”

Suddenly she felt an object under her, so she pulled her body up to see Tim’s phone on the seat. “Oh…”

Lucy picked it up and set herself down gracefully, reaching her arm out to pass the phone to him. His hand went out to grab it, but it ever so slightly brushed hers. She flinched at the warm touch of his skin. Tim locked the moment in the back of his mind.

“You’re really cold.” He says with concern as he pockets the device away.

“Yeah…it’s fine though, don’t worry about it.” She says nervously as she avoids his gaze, savouring the moment they shared.

“Mhm” He doesn’t hesitate to turn up the heater. “There, is that better?”

Warmth gradually reaches her skin and she relaxes back into the seat.

For a while they revert back to the silly Truth or dare questions that make them laugh at one another until Lucy asks him something which takes him aback.

“Truth or dare.” He asks, still recovering from the last dare where she asked him to do fifty push ups outside the shop, which he almost collapsed out the end.

“Truth”

Tim pauses.

God she is gorgeous. I can’t stop staring into her eyes. And her face. Everything. And the way she makes me laugh.

He takes all of her in at once, biting his lip unconsciously at her sight with no shame. After a few seconds he snaps out of the moment, but Lucy is quick to notice the change in atmosphere. And the lip biting too. Her face twitches slightly.

He takes a sharp breath. “When you were staying at mine when…Jackson died…do you think, maybe, something happened between…us.” He stumbles over some words, closing his eyes for slightly longer when he blinks.

Lucy has her mouth gaped open, just enough to see her teeth, with the shock at the question. Every other question was tame and teasing, but this was different.

“Yes.” She answers truthfully.

Their eyes connected and their bodies stayed as still as a rock. They were very aware of their breathing and the way they were alone with each other and how both of them were startled by his question.

Tim parted his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Instead Lucy continued, not thinking, just saying.

“We almost kissed. You held me so close.” She whispered loud enough for him to make out the words.

He was lost for words. He didn’t know what was going through his mind to make him ask that, but the way she answered, it was as if she wanted it.

Eyes still lost in one another, she carried on the game. “Truth or dare,” she whispered this time.

“Dare”

“I want you to kiss me like you would have done on that night.” She said it slow and daring. Her almond eyes shaped into mischief, but also vulnerability

Shock overrode his gawmless expression. Never would he have imagined Lucy Chen asking him to kiss her, never mind the fact that they are doing this in the dead of night in their shop. All Tim could see was her eyes trying to find an answer in his. His eyes then dropped to her lips, staring longingly at the newfound opportunity.

Lucy shifted in her seat, waiting for him to say something, until their lips crashed, desperate and hungry. The deep lust they longed finally being fulfilled as their hands roamed up and down their bodies. Lucy leaned over her seat as much as she could to have as much of him as possible. His teeth bit on her bottom lip as she scraped her nails up his back on the thick wool material of their uniforms. The kiss got deeper and more passionate until Tim pulled back panting and breathless, still holding onto her arm, with a firm grip.

A grin grew wider than ever on the both of them.

“Truth or dare?” Tim asked, his voice low and raspy which made Lucy want to climb over straight onto his lap, but she reluctantly held back.

“Dare” She replied.

“Come home with me.”

Lucy locked eyes with him, then checked her watch seeing they had ended their shift, all the time they were meant to be on the streets not playing truth or dare. But it didn’t matter right now.

She placed her hand over his, moving it onto the wheel. Her face was only centimetres apart from his. They both wanted this. Bad.

“Drive. Now.”
