Chapter Text

Eighteen-Year-Old Chrissy Cunningham was sitting in the front seat of her boyfriend Jason’s mustang head leaning against the cold window watching as the scenery passed by.

“Are you finally gonna tell me where we’re going Jay or is it gonna be a surprise until you tell me to put on a blindfold?” She asked, looking in his direction with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

“Relax, babe,” Jason said, removing one of his hands from the steering wheel to squeeze her thigh. “I heard that it’s the most amazing spot to make out with your girlfriend without their overbearing parents interrupting them.”

Chrissy was as red as a tomato. How could she have forgotten? The one night that she was finally gonna lose her virginity was the same night that her parents decided to come home early. Everything was perfect: candles were lit, rose petals were scattered everywhere and she was laying in the middle of her bed wearing sexy lingerie as she waited for her boyfriend's arrival. As soon as Jason came into her room through the window he was speechless licking his lips before jumping on the bed causing her to giggle. They ended up having a sloppy makeout session which ended with Chrissy’s bra coming undone. They were so close to taking their relationship to the next level that they didn’t hear the bedroom door open or Chrissy’s mother’s screech until Jason was thrown off of her and Chrissy ended up covering up her boobs. That night was the night that put a strain on their relationship.

“It’s not my fault that they barged into my room when we were about to have sex,” she said, crossing her arms with a pout on her lips.

“Yeah well I had to get myself situated before my mind ends up drifting to you completely naked,” Jason said, squeezing her thigh rather tightly.

Chrissy rolls her beautiful hazel eyes knowing damn well what her boyfriend was trying to say. “How did you learn about this amazing place anyways, baby?”

“I overheard some of the guys talking about how it had the most amazing view without any interruptions,” he said.

“If you think we’re gonna have sex in a place that I could most likely get poison ivy then I suggest you turn this  car around right now and take me home,” Chrissy scowled.

“You won’t get poison ivy, Chris,” Jason said, rolling his eyes.

“You don’t know that!” She exclaimed. “I could get poison ivy on my ass or in places that poison ivy shouldn’t be.”

“Don’t worry babe I brought us a blanket so our asses could be protected from the so-called poison ivy,” he said, putting air quotes around the word “poison ivy”.

“Whatever,” Chrissy said, as she drifted her attention back towards the window.

They finally made it to their destination as they got out of the cramped car to stretch their legs while Jason ran to collect the picnic basket and a blanket from the trunk, Chrissy on the other hand was looking out at the horizon. Sure it had the most amazing view but what she didn’t quite understand was why Jason would drive them out into the middle of nowhere when they could have found a hotel and had sex there instead but no he wanted their first time to be out in the wide open where they would most likely get frostbite or fall victim to poison ivy. Or maybe just maybe Jason was planning on purposing. And that thought alone made her feel giddy inside but she knew that she needed to keep her excitement under control especially when Jason appeared right beside her carrying a picnic basket and a blanket draped across his arm.

“Are we seriously gonna have a picnic in this weather? I thought we came here to have sex without any interruptions or we could make love in the backseat of your car,” Chrissy said, fluttering her eyelashes and trying her best to be seductive.

“And get my baby dirty absolutely not besides I have another trick up my sleeve that would make this date night—a night that you’ll always remember,” Jason said.

“And that is?” Chrissy asked.

“You’ll see,” he said, winking.

Now here they were standing in front of a wedding arch and drinking a glass of champagne while watching the sunset. There were no parents and no interruptions which would most likely be a whole bunch of cockblocks determined to make Chrissy die a virgin.

But she’s got to admit that Jason was right about how amazing the view was, especially when she was sipping her champagne only to feel a rock hard object that most likely resembles a ring entering her mouth. She looks at Jason in confusion who was biting his lip and looking rather nervous before sticking her fingers in her mouth and pulling out the object to examine it.

She gasped once she realized that it was in fact an engagement ring or could it be a promise ring. Whatever type of ring it could be she didn’t want to dwell on it, not when Jason was on one knee right in front of her holding her other hand and trying her absolute hardest not to bawl like a baby.

“Since the moment we met I always knew that you were the one. The one who would carry my future kids. The one who will be on my arm at all times during events. The one who would bust me out of jail for doing something drastic. You will always be there when I need you the most, cheering me on,” he said, choking up a little bit. “Look what I’m trying to say is Chrissy will you—“

But before he could finish his sentence his phone decided at that moment to ring, leaving Jason looking rather annoyed as he stood up fetching his phone from his pocket.

“Hold on a sec, babe. This won’t take long,” Jason said, turning around so his back was facing her. “What the fuck do you want, Byers can’t you see I’m in the middle of something.”

Chrissy stared at his back in confusion wondering why Jonathan Byers was calling him on their date night when she knew for a fact that Jason wanted them to have no interruptions. Could it be that Jonathan was out here with them aswell or was he only calling to tell Jason that he was done with his homework? Whatever the reason was she didn’t want to stick around in the cold any longer especially when she thought that they came all this way to have sex but come to find out that Jonathan “The Perv” Byers could be out here somewhere about to watch them do it now she really wants to go home.

“Did you or did you not take the photo, Byers?!” Jason scolded into the phone.

In the distance behind some trees was sixteen-year-old Jonathan Byers looking through his camera and phone to his ear.

“Of course I didn’t take the photo yet. How could I when the lighting isn’t that great and you’re standing in the way,” Jonathan sighs.

“Look we had a fuckin’ deal alright, Byers. You take a picture of me proposing to my beautiful girlfriend and I’ll make sure that my friends won’t bother you for the rest of the school year. If you don’t do what I say then I’ll tell everyone that you were taking pictures of me fucking my girl. Do I make myself clear, Johnny boy?!” Jason hissed through the phone.

“Whatever you say man,” Jonathan said, regretting ever making this deal with Jason in the first place.

He goes back to looking through his camera waiting for Jason to resume what he was doing only to drop everything looking out into the horizon with an arrow in his eye blood seeping from the wound before falling face first into the solid ground just as a figure appears out of nowhere watching the couple.

Chrissy was getting impatient by the second arms crossed and tapping her foot but instead of heading back to the car she rips the phone right out of Jason’s hand.

“What the hell babe?!? Can’t you see I was in the middle of something,” he exclaimed.

“Just stand there and look pretty while I talk to Jonathan,” Chrissy said, turning around determined to get to the bottom of why Jonathan was out here with them in the first place.

That’s when she heard it a gurgling sound. At first she thought Jason was sipping his drink or maybe he was choking but once she turned around she was frozen in terror noticing an arrow stuck in Jason’s head blood slowly making it’s way down his face.

She just stood there not being able to move a single muscle as she continued to stare at her boyfriend’s dead body, tears streaming down her face until the vase beside her explodes causing her to run back down the hill and towards the car.

She was scared, not quite understanding why anyone would want to kill Jason, sure people can’t stand him but they wouldn’t go as far to kill him. Something wasn’t quite adding up here. Once she made it back to the car she was frustrated and terrified after realizing that the door was locked.

Chrissy was standing out in the wide open but instead of waiting around to be killed she runs around to the driver side ducking and covering her mouth trying not to make a single noise until the window shattered causing her to run towards the meadow where she hides in the tall grass covering her mouth.

Everything was quiet and she wasn’t making a single peep until her phone decided at that moment to ring. She quickly fetches it from her pocket noticing that the Caller ID said “Jay” but how was that possible when she saw Jason’s dead body just moments before so she quickly answered it holding onto a little bit of hope that he could still be alive.

“Jay? If this is some sick joke then that’s pretty fu--“ Chrissy began only to get cut off by a sharp pain in her right foot.

She looks down screaming once she sees the arrow before standing up and limping towards the winery.

Once inside she spots a man in a security uniform walking towards her.

“Kid, what’s wrong?” He asked.

“Please you got to help me. My boyfriend's dead and now I’m next,” Chrissy sobbed.

Before the guy could respond the door opened revealing the killer wearing a mask and a trench coat.

“Hey, you! Did you hurt this poor girl!” The guy yelled.

As soon as the killer was distracted it gave Chrissy enough time to get away only to hear gunshots in the distance deciding that her best bet for survival was to hide in one of the hydraulic wine presses and that’s exactly what she did as she holds her breath but everything soon takes a turn for the worst when she hears whirring noises as she tries to open the door only to realize that the killer locked it from the outside. She starts screaming as her head gets squashed, blood splattering the glass while the killer stands there looking pleased with their work before walking off.
