Chapter Text

It had all started in the middle of the night, as most scary stories do. Shoto, only four years old, had been woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of pleading screams and sobs from a voice down the hall, one he knew to be his oldest brothers. Even though his quirk hadn't formed yet, Shoto felt like he should try to help his brother. He didn't want Touya to be hurt or scared, and he sounded like he was both.

And so, Shoto slowly opened his bedroom door, and quietly crept down the hall towards where the sounds were coming from. As he got closer to Touya's room, the sounds got louder, and it was only when Shoto had an ear pressed against Touya's door that he noticed a few other sounds as well.

The first extra sound he noticed was their father's voice. Deep, gruff, and growled, scary, but familiar. The other sound, Shoto didn't recognize. It almost sounded like when Father would hit Touya, the echo of skin on skin, but it sounded... Squishy? Then their father growled something Shoto couldn't make out, but it made Touya sob even harder, and Shoto was reminded of why he had left his room in the first place.

He reached up for the door handle, standing on his tip toes to make sure he could properly grasp it in both hands before silently pushing the door open. Shoto peeked around the door into Touya's room, and what he saw only made him more confused. Father had his back to Shoto, and he seemed to be holding Touya up against the wall, his body moving in a way that Shoto couldn't tell the purpose of.

Then, Touya's eyes cracked open, and he made eye contact with Shoto over Father's shoulder. The sobs halted for just long enough for Shoto to notice, and then Touya started crying louder, sobbing and screaming and gasping for air. One of the hands that had been digging scratches into Father's back was lifted, urgently shooing Shoto away, accompanied by a loud sob as Father did the same movement, but faster.

Father spoke then, his voice sounding meaner and rougher than Shoto had ever heard it. "Shut up with the crying, bitch. You aren't strong enough to be what you're supposed to be, so be good at this. You're good for nothing except a hole to fuck, boy. Act like it."

Shoto didn't understand what that meant, but it made Touya's face do something complicated, like he wanted to throw up but couldn't find the energy to gag. Instead, he went silent, tears streaming down his face as he leans his head back against the wall with a pained expression.

Shoto watched, out of curiosity, as Father's movements sped up, then stopped, and the man let out a low, gutteral noise that made Touya sob before shoving his fist in his mouth to keep quiet. Then, Father started to pull away from Touya, and Shoto's heart jumped into his throat as he hurried to shut Touya's bedroom door and rush back to his own room.

Shoto heard Touya's bedroom door open and shut before he could even get his own door closed, and he carefully listened to his father's heavy footsteps fading out before carefully creeping back into Touya's room. Touya was leaning against the wall when Shoto opened the door, sitting on the floor, staring blankly ahead with a startlingly empty expression.

Shoto slowly tiptoed closer, stopping a few feet away when he noticed Touya bleeding. A deep sticky red coated his inner thighs, mixing with something white that was leaking from Touya's exposed opening into his body. Touya was still crying, but it's silent, tears streaming down his face, and he didn't look up.

Shoto felt sad. Touya was hurt. He didn't want his big brother hurting... He decided to help the best way he knew how, and carefully padded out to the bathroom to grab a washcloth, climbing up on a step stool to carefully dampen it. He then made his way back to Touya's room, who's tears had stopped, but was still staring blankly at the wall across from the one he was slumped against.

Carefully creeping closer, Shoto dropped to his knees when he got close enough, and slowly brought the damp washcloth up to Touya's messy parts. At first, Touya flinched away hard, a pained noise leaving him at the touch. Shoto flinched as well, but determined to help his big brother, Shoto tried again, this time starting lower on the messy thighs he was kneeled between.

He slowly wiped away the drying blood that had dripped almost down to Touya's knees, carefully moving up, and wiping away whatever the white, sticky mess was too. He folded the washcloth on half with the dirty part to the inside so he could keep cleaning, and placed what he hoped was a soothing hand on Touya's thigh.

"I'm gonna touch," he whispered, because Touya still looked like he's hurt down there. "Please don't be scared, I'll be gentle." He promised, and Touya gave half nod. Shoto thought that that's an improvement compared to the nonresponsive fear he had gotten the last time he tried to touch Touya.

Shoto ever so carefully pressed the wet washcloth between Touya's legs, up against the bloodied opening, and Touya hissed, but didn't pull away. Shoto pats his thigh soothingly, gently wiping at the mess around his private parts. He knew nobody's supposed to touch anybody here, but he figured it's okay, since he's helping Touya.

After he was satisfied that Touya was cleaned properly, Shoto pulled away, looking over the area to make sure he didn't miss anything. Touya looked a little more alert, his eyes now fixed on Shoto's face rather than a blank wall. Shoto tilted his head, still confused on how Father had hurt Touya, but he didn't want to ask and upset him.

"Are you okay, Touya?" He asked quietly, one hand still resting on Touya's thigh. Touya made a strange, strangled noise, and for a moment, Shoto thought he had forgotten how to speak. "Sho, kiddo, do you know what Father was doing?" Shoto shook his head, and Touya immediately relaxed, though Shoto didn't miss that Touya didn't answer the question. "Good. Don't talk to anyone about it, okay?"

Shoto tilted his head, confused as to why he couldn't tell, but he nodded anyway, always more than happy to do what Touya said. Touya cupped the back of Shoto's neck and pulled him closer, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. "Good boy. Now why don't you get back to bed?" Shoto pouted at that, crossing his arms with a frown. "But Touya, you're hurt! Don't wanna leave you!"

Touya chuckled, pushing himself off the floor, but when he moved, his grin faltered. Shoto noticed, but didn't say anything. "I'm fine. Come on, I'll get dressed and I'll come tuck you in, okay?" Touya insisted, and Shoto watched him pull on a pair of shorts, still moving in a weird way. After tugging a shirt on over his head, Touya put a hand out for Shoto to take, so he did. And he let his big brother pick him up, and carry him back to his own room.

True to his word, Touya had laid Shoto down in his bed, and tucked him in with a kiss to the cheek. Shoto watched him straighten up, not closing his eyes even when he felt Toya's hand run through his hair. Well, at least Touya's smiling, so he can't be hurting too badly. He certainly never feels like smiling when he's hurt.

So Shoto closed his eyes and snuggled into his blankets, wanting nothing more than to make Touya happy. He felt Touya press another kiss into his hair, and then the touch was gone, the sound of his bedroom door shutting following close behind in it's absence.

Shoto still didn't understand what had happened, but he didn't want to think too hard about it. Touya had said not to talk about it, so it couldn't of been too bad. Shoto trusted Touya with his whole tiny heart, so he listened, curling up into his blankets and falling asleep, hoping Father wouldn't hurt Touya like that ever again.

Notes:

Oh my god, I hate writing Enji like this ;-; Now listen, I am NOT an endeavor apologist, but I know he would NEVER treat his kids like this in canon.
