The teacher asked me to carry some printouts to the classroom. I don't mind helping out but...
...it's like half my size.
'The stack is so big for you. Its basically covering your eyes. Here, let me take half.'
A senior girl, a lot taller than me, takes a decent portion of the papers from my hands. I ain't blind.
I feel so tiny next to her. That's annoying.
'There now it's even. I'll help you carry it.'
Her voice was calm. Sweet.
That was definitely more than half
'You're a first year—'
'Don't think for a second that I can't do it. If you're helping me just because I'm younger than you, then you can get lost!'
Her shoulder drooped. Hurt appears in her violet eyes. I didn't mean to come off harsh. Well what did I expect from myself anyways?
'W-well whatever!' I spit out, keeping my head down. 'I'll forgive you this once. But just this once!'
I look down. Stop making me feel so small already.
I try to sneak a peek at her. She noticed my gaze.
'Well then let's get going!' She walks ahead, a hesitant spring in her step.
Her perception is blink-of-the-eye type of quick. I wasn't able to catch her expression. Not a hint.
Wait, where'd she go?
'Hey, wait up!'
When I had caught up with her, she had already reached the classroom. That was fast.
'H-hey, don't you know basic manner? You should've waited for me!'
She smiles at me, as if saying,'So this is how you always act, huh?'
'Why are you smiling so much?'
She looked like she was jolted out of her thoughts.
'Oh nothing. You're a bit small so...'
'So you are getting the urge to protect me?'
She looked surprised before turning her head away, fiddling with her purple hair. Did I guess what she was thinking?
