The sounds of customers and the music on the speakers filled your ears as you worked in boxing the pizzas and cooking them while Elliot worked at the Front desk collecting orders.
You were already exhausted from the first round when double time had started, with a groan you got to work fast
Less and less you noticed your surroundings while working almost on autopilot
On your way to the kitchen you bumped into something face first
It felt warm but firm and kind of like someone’s chest?
Ohh you probably accidentally bumped into Elliot! Such a dummy you are
You went to look at Elliot when you felt your voice die on the spot
It was dued1, you were on his chest.
You were on your boss’s chest
His actual chest
And he’s looking at you, smiling stifling a laugh.
With absolute horror threatening to spread itself onto your face you quickly got away as Dued1 sighed
“Hey buddy maybe look up next time” he said with a teasing tone as he fought off infectious smile attached itself to his face.
Quickly you fumbled looking for an apology silently hoping he wouldn’t fire you when a firm hand squeezed your shoulder.
He leaned in still snickering a bit his voice became softer “hey it’s okay mistakes happen just look where you going instead of looking spaced out”
Scrambling you nodded and bolted out the kitchen heading to do deliveries. Dued1 finished laughing before leaning on the door to the kitchen from the cashier area
“What a dumb man”
he didn’t say it with malice no, it was said with this sort of soft matter of factly voice . His voice was below a whisper you’d think it was the wind, he thought for a moment before he continued
“but he’s my man,thats what matters”
thats all that mattered to dued1, even if you didn’t know it yet
Dued1 knew how you looked at him, how you would ramble to your best friend John Doe about him, how many love confessions you’d thrown out by now. You may have given up on confessing,but he hasn’t.
He loved you and he knew it , and he would make sure you were his darling.
His heart skipped a beat at the thought of kissing you.
A low sound escaped his lips as he moved away from the door frame and into the kitchen,it sounded almost like a giggle. He couldn’t help but tease you and how thick skulled you were.
