Chapter Text
Dunk~
As Lyonel was knighting Raymun, he got on his horse riding to where Aerion and Lord of Ashford were waiting.
When he faced the Prince, he found him proud as ever. Looking at him like he is the garbage under his boots. But..... his face.... his face was in different shades of bruising.
For a second Dunk hesitated.
Did I cause that? he thought.
" We cannot delay any further" said lord of ashford bringing him out of his trance.
Everything happened so fast after that.
When everyone thought Dunk is done for, prince Baelor took his side to the shock of everyone present.
The accusers went to their side of the field, while Dunk and his team did the same.
After the heir to the throne told them what to do, which was mostly not dying_Not very helpful if Dunk was being honest_ he reached Egg and asked him before he could stop himself
"Aerion's face, i didn't. did i? I'm not sure I didn't. Is he trying to get sympathy from the crowd? The giant man hurt him so bad he's bruised all over?"
Egg shrugged " probably father's doing."
And he said it like it's the most normal thing.
"He deserves it" Egg said after noticing Dunk's reaction.
"right. But before a fight?"
"It's just his face. He doesn't need it to fight"
Dunk looked to the other side of the field, towards the royals standing there.
Prince Maekar had gripped the back of Aerion's neck, whispering angrily. Or maybe that's just how his face always looks.
I can't get distracted now. Dunk thought shaking his head and getting ready.
~meanwhile on the other side.
Aerion averted his eyes from his father. How could his uncle take the giant's side?
He dared a glance at Maekar. His father truly looked like a dragon ready to burn him.
Aerion swallowed and licked his lips. The cut his father gifted him with his ring last night was bleeding again.
Maekar grabbed the back of his son's neck harshly and whispered in his ear with venom in his voice. "Because of your actions, boy, there are four Targaryens on the field, I promise you, if any of our brothers die today, I will make you the bitch of the whole court"
A shiver ran down Aerion's body. Maekar looked with disgust at his stupid son and went to join the others.
Aerion shook his head. Trying to get the words out of his head. There is one solution to fix everything. He told himself.
He had to win.
