Work Text:

Zam was organizing his chests as usual he hated when his stuff was unorganized it made him feel odd like he was trapped it scared him beyond belief he didn't like feeling trapped or being trapped at that he was humming to himself (specifically fame is a gun by Addison rae) eventually he finished organizing his chests now he didn't know what to do since that was done he had nothing to do so he decided to take a walk it was surprisingly nice outside he just hoped he wouldn't run into anyone on his walk they would probably try and fight him for no reason and he didn't want that right now he was in a good mood and didn't want his day to be ruined by someone running up to him and trying to kill him he finally got outside after standing in the middle of his chest room just thinking for a minute or two he stretched the warm sun felt great it wasn't to hot and it wasn't to cold it was just right it made him feel even better than he already did he quickly fixed his crown before walking off he spaced out his brain turning on auto pilot he just walked... and walked... and walked... and then he heard something he finally came back to reality to look around and see what the noise was he finally spotted it... it was just Flame and Wemmbu bickering the two brothers were never on good terms but at least they weren't going at eachothers throats this time around he stared at the two for a second before shrugging and walking off he really could care less about what they were bickering about Flame and Wemmbu made him glad he didn't have any siblings he had cousins but he never got to see Boosfer and his two brothers Kier and Dev he mindlessly walked again his brain auto piloting as he spaced out he spaces out alot he never thought to much about it but he just liked thinking and the only way he would think without interruption is just spacing out and letting his body auto pilot eventually he came back to reality he had reached where he wanted it was a ledge that overlooked a ocean he has always liked this place it was so beautiful he glanced at the tree he had planted months earlier he smiled zam felt proud about how long the tree had been standing he went and sat under the tree the shade was nice since he started sweating from all the walking his base was miles away from this spot he pulled out a book from his inventory so he could read and enjoy the nice day and he did just that he mustve not realized that it was getting late the book was just to good to stop reading he also didn't realize the person stalking him just a few feet behind he looked up from his book and realized the sun was setting but he wasn't in any rush to leave the sunset was pretty he put the book away and leaned his back against the tree admiring the sunset as the sun set it started to get cold he wasn't wearing anything warm he shivered in the cold as he was about the get up he felt something wrap around his body he looked down and it was a purple cape he knew whos it was but the cape was surprisingly warm so he wasn't complaining all to much but he needed to turn around and confront the man who has been watching him for god knows how long

He got up quickly, spun around, and saw Wemmbu. He tilted his head slightly at Wemmbu. "How long have you been watching me?"

Wemmbu ran his hands through his hair. "Maybe an hour. I had noticed you hours ago when you were walking here when I was arguing with Flame. I mean, it's really hard not to notice you; you're blonde, and all your clothes are bright yellow." Wemmbu chuckled at his own joke, but Zam didn't seem too impressed by the joke. "You're a creep for just watching me, Wemmbu."

Wemmbu's tail swayed slightly. "What else was I supposed to do? You practically hate my guts, and also, you just looked so peaceful; I didn't want to disturb you while you were reading."

Zam sighed, "Thanks for the cape, I guess."

"Yeah, well, I couldn't help but notice you started shivering immediately after the sun went down," Wemmbu smirked. "You don't seem to be complaining anyway, and you don't have the appropriate clothes for the night."

Zam facepalmed. "Well, for your information, I don't live in a cold place. Why would I need to dress for the cold? And I didn't even mean to stay out here for this long."

Wemmbu looked deep in thought, and then he finally spoke up: "Did you remember that the season's end is tomorrow?" Wemmbu's tail stopped swaying.

Zam frowned. "Thanks for reminding me, asshole." Zam fixed his crown and then reached over to fix Wemmbu's crown, too, but quickly paused and put his hands together, trying to stop himself from reaching to fix Wemmbu's crown

Wemmbu tilted his head. "You can fix my crown; I don't mind, really." He smiled at Zam and slightly leaned down to let Zam fix his crown.

Zam thought for a moment and then fixed Wemmbu's crown as Wemmbu rose back up. Zam noticed the bright yellow eye that Wemmbu always kept hidden. "Did you always have a bright yellow eye?"

Wemmbu frowned and quickly fixed the hair that hid his eye. "I'll just say I wasn't born with it," he spoke quickly. He must not have liked talking about that eye.

Zam smiled. "I'm pretty proud of my eyes. I have two different colored eyes, too. See?" The only eye that was visible at night was the bright yellow one that glowed in the dark; it was oddly mesmerizing.

Wemmbu shook his head; he needed to stop staring at Zam's eye. "I'm going home. Can you please return my cape tomorrow? I don't want the season to end and me not have my cape." He tried to force a smile before walking off.

Zam frowned and started to walk back to his house. Now that his mind was off Wemmbu, he realized that his cape smelled oddly good, like lavender. He never expected someone like Wemmbu to smell so good. He spaced out thinking about Wemmbu, and before he knew it, he was home, and he was really tired, so he immediately walked to his room and lay with the cape. He fell asleep quicker than he ever had; the smell was comforting.

it was the next day and he had finally woke up to the sound of a alarm... it was the alarm notifying people that today was the end of the season zam had been through this multiple times it wasn't unfamiliar but everytime a new season would start new relationships would start and old ones forgotten like the last season him and wemmbu were friends but now they were sworn enemys he finally snapped back to reality and got up out of bed with the cape still wrapped around him the smell of wemmbu was still there although sleeping with it all night he walked to the kitchen to get something to eat he yawned and looked through the fridge which only had a few carrots and a steak so zam decided to grab out the steak and eat it luckily the steak as already been cooked so he just put it in the microwave to heat it back up so he could eat it without gagging cause cold foods always disgusted him after keeping the steak in the microwave to heat it up he sat down with the steak at a table he yawned again and realized he forgot to put it crown back on so he quickly got up to look for where his crown went with the cape still wrapped around him he hasn't ever let go of the thing and finally found his crown putting it on his head and fixing it he quickly darted back to the table in hopes of his food not already being to cold for him to eat he took a bite of the food and it was still hot it wasn't hot enough to burn his mouth but it was acceptable
